Report Writer Exit abnormally

Hi, Report runs for 20 mins and stops giving the following error: [Tue May 23 10:33:55 2006]143.222.223.108/PWC_PRBK/PRBK/admin/Error(1013033) ReportWriter exit abnormally [Tue May 23 10:33:55 2006]143.222.223.108/PWC_PRBK/PRBK/admin/Warning(1080014) Transaction [ 0x90001( 0x4473189e.0x73487 ) ] aborted due to status [1013033]. Here are some salient features:
a) Report Painter has 90% of the functionality that Report Writer has and is easier to develop.
b) The last time I did anything on it, from the SAP main menu, choose Information systems->Ad hoc reports->Report painter.
c) Report Writer functions can be accessed from within the Report Painter.
d) Report Painter/Report Writer has four main components: Sets, Libraries, Reports, Report Groups
e) The main difference between the two RW and RP is the graphical user interface of the Report Painter.
f) It is generally used in FI-SL reporting.

User Exit for For Variable G_Set_Formula_Exit on Report Writer

Hi SAP Experts,
I want to create user exit for formula variable for Cost Center Group with alphanumeric type ( like 1KOSET- but 1KOSET is a set variable). I will use it as one of my row formula in report writer.
There is one alphanumeric user exit example, which is Controlling Area (#S010) in GS13. SAP message said that I can create other alphanumeric user exit by using user exit G_Set_Formula_Exit.
Can someone advice on how to implement this user exit?

Use of Selection Rule in Report Writer.

Hello Everybody,
I am trying to make use of selection rule in report writer. We have a mixed chart of accounts using both IFRS and USGAAP account. Distinction between USGAAP and IFRS is based on certain value in gl account master data. Using report writer rule I wish to exclude IFRS account for a specfic report.
For example
REPORT = X = Rule to restrict selection to only USGAAP account
REPORT = Y = Rule to restrict selection to only IFRS account.
I have created a rule and tried to build user-exit around it. However during the callup of the selection rule no values are transferred to user-exit and therefore the ABAP consultant is not able to write any specific code.
Request your inputs on usage of selection rules in report writer.

OS X 10.8.3 Mail Quits with launchd Exited abnormally: Broken pipe: 13

Hello,
I'm using OS X Mail in Mountain Lion and it keeps quitting in the middle of me typing. The "Broken Pipe" error message I'm seeing in console is listed below. I have 3 accounts created in Mail: Exchange Account for Work, iCloud (IMAP) and Yahoo! (IMAP). I didn't have issues until I started using the Exchange account for work.
Anyone have any ideas for how to resolve this issue?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

Problem in oracle report writer installation

I was trying to install oracle report writer in sun box. after I set the term variable. when I run the orainst file its giving the following error
orainst: cannot determine current directory
tk2c*.res: No such file or directory
Supported Terminals are :
TERM=vt-52 ORACLE_TERM=vt-52
Can't find resource file
/./tk2{TERM}.res or
/./tk2{ORACLE_TERM}.res
Please set your TERM variable to one of the supported terminals.

This needs to be in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH (or equivalent depending upon what Unix system you are on). If this file is not part of your installation, then you need to reinstall the product as your installation directory is incomplete.

Mailing Problem in Reports Writer 3.0 (URGENT)

Hello,
I 'm facing mailing problem in Reports Writer 3.0.
All Reports files (.rep) are stored on NT Server(in a particular
dir) and I have full permission (on that dir).
After running the report, when I try to send mail then it gives
the following error
REP-4203: Error occurred while sending a mail message.
REP-4221: Cannot access attachment file.
So pls. suggest me.

This is the wrong forum for reports issues - particularly for such an old version :-) However, you'll have to write a user exit to do that kind of stuff. And no don't ask me how, it was all too long ago, but there should be a section on that in your manual.

Report writer Authorization on selection screen

Hi All,
In transaction GR55 (to execute the report group), when the user enters the selection criteria for the report group, I want to validate the
'Profit Center group' and 'Profit center values' fields. The way it should be validated is, it should check the entry for the 'profit center group' or 'values' entered against the 'user name' in a Ztable for that user. If there is no entry in the Ztable matching that 'User name' and 'profit center group or values' , it should give an error message. I have seen that there is a user exit 'EXIT_SAPFGRWX_001' (Authorization check on initial screen).
But my problem is, in this functional module (code is shown below), the table 'I_T_SELSCREEN_PARAMS' has only one filed for both 'Profit center Group' and 'profit center values'.
1. when I enter 'Profit center group' 'ABC' in my selection criteria, I_T_SELSCREEN_PARAMS has following values.
I_T_SELSCREEN_PARAMS - selname = '%8A-PCHI'.
I_T_SELSCREEN_PARAMS-low = '01061000ABC'.
2. When I enter 'Profit Center Values' as some '3001000' to '3001020' inn the selection criteria, I_T_SELSCREEN_PARAMS has following fields,
I_T_SELSCREEN_PARAMS-selname = '%8A-PCHI'
I_T_SELSCREEN_PARAMS-low = '0002$ZSLP&8A-PCHI'.
here ZSLP is the report group name.
I don't understand how to get the values '3001000' to '30001020' into my user-exit in case 2.
Is there any other way of doing this? has anyone used this user-exit? Please help me.

For your requirement to have authorization, SAP provides facility in report writer/painter to give authorization groups.
Go to GR52.
Input your report group name.
Click on Header (Cap symbol) or F5.
At this header screen , you can see a field where you can provide Authorization group.
Try this. It may help you.
As a note:
Report writer / Report painter reports are reports which are created with zero percent coding.
The SAP generated program (E.g: GP3ICYT39FHJLOYBA2025DBAE1V213) cannot be changed or modified.
The only coding that you can do in a report writer are the formula's and logic that you can write in variables of the report writer / painter.

Effect
Writes the contents of the field f to the global user-specific SAP memory and the local transaction-specific SAP memory under the ID pid. Any existing values under the same ID are overwritten.
Parameter IDs can be up to 20 characters long. They cannot consist entirely of spaces. The SAP system description contains an overview of parameter IDs. You can also produce a list using the ABAP Workbench.
Notes
The global, user-specific SAP memory is available to a user for the duration of a single terminal session. Values written to it are retained even when the user exits a program.
Do not use SAP memory as a temporary storage area, since parallel sessions belonging to the same user all use the same memory area.
Only store data of the types C, N, D, and T, as well as structures that consist of these types, in the SAP Memory.
You can create new parameter IDs using the ABAP Workbench.

Exited abnormally: Segmentation fault

I see that 'Exited abnormally: Segmentation fault' is very common with Leopard and would be grateful if somebody could explain it and say if this is a Leopard fault which Apple will eventually fix.
I had it earlier and it appeared to crash the OS. I could still move the curser with my mouse but it had disabled the keyboard. The screen retained its pre-crash items. There was a small amount of disk activity but I could only recover with a forced reboot.
The only Console evidence was:

It transpires that there are several ways to achieve reasonable line spacing whilst preserving line length and white space in order to display crash reports etc on Apple discussion pages but one of the simplest is the use of 'pre' tags combined with a line height style. For example use the following:

I am still unclear about the best way to deal with long lines but will give it further thought. A forced wrap with some form of indenting might look OK but it may not be possible to find a general solution.

Error generating report in Report writer (GR214, short dump)

We are making a report in GGR2. When generating the report group, we have dump with error:

I have generated as well via GR52 with the same result.
The report i try to generate has about 500 lines, uses a number of existing sets and has simple formulas in it. When i restrict the number of rows to say 400 I donu2019t have the issue. Is there a restriction to rows in report writer?

Hi,
The error you are receiving could be caused by a large number of row blocks in your report definition, (you can check the report definition with report RGRRDC00). A report should not contain too many row and column blocks. It is not possible to give an upper bound for the number of row blocks (since the length of the coding depends on other parts of the report as well). However, even a complicated Report Writer or Report Painter report should not contain more than 50 row blocks, and reports with more than 100 row blocks should not be defined.
In this case the report(s) have to be redefined. Please also refer to the note 387916 for further information regarding this issue.
When there are more than 30 variables in a report, please have a look at the note 332091.
Please reduce the number of row blocks in the report by using the function 'Edit' -> 'Rows' -> 'Explode' in the Report Painter
definition. This function enables several rows to be created for one row block (in the Report Painter definition one row block is just one row). Report Painter (and Report Writer) are designed to display hierarchical reports where the rows in the few row blocks are built up using the 'Explode' function.

Report Writer Excel integration

I have a serious issue here that I am unable to resolve in report writer or painter.
I want the report to export to excel with some formatting.
The formatting that I want is that.
My report has 1 row of profit center which is variablized for user selection, when a user wants to see a report for a certain range of profit centers, he will enter that in the selection criteria, the report comes out looking fine how I want it but when I turn the excel integration on , I want all the profit centers that were selected in the selection screen to appear in a seperate tab in excel..
So one tab per profit center chosen , How do i do that?

Modifications in Transaction S_ALR_87013611( Report Writer )

Hi Gurus,
I have a Standard transaction S_ALR_87013611 which in turn calls the transaction KSB1.This former transaction is developed using report writer. The Issue is that when I give Cost Center Values twice in the selection screen with multiple values , I get two cost centre values with same number and the corresponding values are added.So I need to restrict the Cost Centre values in the selection screen to unique values.And for that I need to modify the report . So if anyone have ever worked with report writer or report painter, please tell how to modify the report and add our own coding as in the case of ABAP Query.

Error message in report writer when add new selection filed?

Dear All,
I wanna add a new selection field cost element group and cost element to a report in report writer. I key in GR52 and click the general data selection. I select the set variable &1KSTAR to enter into the set ID. But it shows me the following message:
Set cannot be used in Selection:
Message no. GR807
Diagnosis
You are trying to use a set in report maintenance.
The set cannot be entered in the report definition for any of the dimensions for which the set could be used.
The following error message describes why the set cannot be used for all the dimensions for which the set can be used.
System Response
The set will not be entered in report maintenance.
Procedure
Choose an appropriate set.
What does it mean? I have tried other set variables but sitll gave the same message.

At the same time, it gave me a green light message saying:
Characteristic Cost Element is already used in a row
Message no. GR465
Diagnosis
The characteristic Cost Element is already being used in a report row block and therefore cannot be used in a different part of the report.
Technical note: The field name for characteristic Cost Element is KSTAR.
Does it mean I have used the cost element in the report and blocked the cost element so that I can't use it in the selection screen? How can I solve this by not changing the report or should I change the report?
