Reporting - ODS specific descriptions

Hi everyone,
I have an key figure in which I use in two ODS's.  When reporting separately on this object in each ODS, its desciptive name is correct.  I have recently had requirements to join the two ODS's together for new reporting, the problem is, the key figures name is now the same for each ODS.  I would like to change it to be more descriptive without creating another key figure.
I would like to do this at the ODS level is possible.  Has anyone else had this type of request?
We are on BW 3.5
Thanks as always.
Ryan.

Hi ,
You can change the description of Keyfigure, but not the Technical names.
Goto RSD1 and select your Keyfigure-Display ->change it into Edit mode, give new Description and Activate,.
I think it works.

  • Is there any way to create a job in LMS4.2 to configure only switchports matching a specific description

    Hello Network Management gurus.
    I'm baffled by a lot of new features of LMS4.2 and seem lost where to start looking.
    Our client needs to periodically make changes to switches to change their port settings.
    They have specific descriptions with a certain string. Let's say the description say "Cisco phone".
    The task is to create either template or ad-hoc Netconfig job that will send changes only to those switchports.
    How can it be done?
    Thanks for your help in advance
    Eugene

    Thanks, Michel.
    I'm almost done except for the task/commands definitions.
    This is what I'm doing.
    1)  Admin -> System -> Group Management -> Port and Module (once I clicked "Port and Module" I'm redirected to Inventory -> Group Management -> Port and Module)
    2) I create a group named "VoIP switchport"
    3) Then I select the device that I need to configure. It is my switch SW2
    4) Then goes Rule Expression:
    Port.PortDescription equals "VoIP_Port"INCLUDELIST {:RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380997>,
    :RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380996>,
    :RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380995>,
    :RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380994>,
    :RME:INVENTORY:Port$-1172380993>}
    In human language it say that that the switchport description should be matching the string "VoIP_Port" and it is applicable to 5 ports, they are Fa0/1 through Fa0/5 interfaces of the switch
    The fun starts when I try to create a job to push some VoIP parameters to the switchports in question.
    I create a new NetConfig job, select "Port based" type job, then I select the device which is a redundant step for me. I expect the job selector is smart enough to select the device based on my "Port and Module" group created previously.
    Anyways, when I click "Next" I select my Port group which is "VoIP switchport" and then the next screen suggests to select the task. I assume I should select "Adhoc task". When I add an instance of this task I'm presented with a screen prompting to configure CLI commands. This is where I stopped.
    What am I starting with? Should I go to the global config mode first ? If I want to send the command "switchport voice vlan 15" should I just add it in the CLI field? How am I applying it only to the required 5 ports?
    If I start the job anyway it fails and the error message is no applicable devices.

  • Isolating WebIntelligence ad hoc reports to specific Webi Report Processing Server

    Post Author: Lucia Chan
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
    Has anyone successfully isolated WebIntelligence ad hoc reports to be processed by specific Webi Report Processing Server?  We need to enforce governance on the database side.  We can restrict scheduling for Webi reports to specific Webi Report Processing Server, but not for ad hoc reports.  Otherwise is there a way to do connection override for scheduled Webi reports?

    New version that's comming up SBO Bi4.0 will have bouilt in monitoring that will allow what you requesting.
    In the current product line - this is not possible, unless you just monitor WIReportServer.exe at OS level and alert when it's memory or CPU usage goest too high... (if memory reaches close to and above 1.7gb - you're going into troubles.)
    There are various fixes and improvements to Webi processing stability in recent fix and service packs, so if you're having webi instability - you should review latest FP fix issues list (in SMP to right of FP download there is an Info link - it leads to fixed issues docs).
    If you do not see your issue listed - open incident with support - let them investigate.
    Webi crashing when merging/unmerging dimentions sounds like a bug...

  • How to get Reports for specific User that how many password has been reset using FIM SSPR in FIM 2010 R2 SSPR

    Hi,
    How to get Reports for specific User that how many password has been reset using FIM SSPR in FIM 2010 R2 SSPR
    Regards
    Anil Kumar

    Hello there Anil,
    A simple way to quickly get a overview is to look at the request history within the portal environment (note that this will expire in a few day based on your environment, after that you would need to FIM Reporting Module - but you could increase this to
    maybe 60 days to so, watch the DB size).
    To do this you could create some custom search scopes of do some custom queries. The creator of the SSPR activities always has the same GUID so you can use that so search.
    In your search scope you can use the following XPath to play with.
    - All Password Reset Requests - /Request[Creator='b0b36673-d43b-4cfa-a7a2-aff14fd90522' and Operation='Put']
    - All Completed Password Reset Requests - /Request[Creator='b0b36673-d43b-4cfa-a7a2-aff14fd90522' and RequestStatus=‘Completed']
    You can play with the "RequestStatus".
    Hope this helps.

  • FBL3N to BW report for specific GL's

    Dear BW Experts,
    I want to create report in BW for FBL3N for specific GL's, for open items.
    I am done with development.
    Report on standard DSO 0FIGL_O02 (0FI_GL_4)...
    Simply GL in rows, with filter for open status.
    Issue: Balance is not matching from ECC for one GL, because of one document,
    which is closed in ECC but in DSO its still open (data is upto date in BW).
    Thanks
    Arun Purohit

    I did re-load but without luck.....
    that docment is there in BSAS(closed docs table) table not in BSIS (open docs table)...still ds 0FI_GL_4 shows that item still open....

  • Report ID94 specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs = requested software not listed

    Hi All,
    Our company uses SCCM 2007 and we don't really have an SCCM officer here. I kind of try to get things done by googling a lot but for this i can't find a a solution so i open a thread.
    I'm a newbie to SCCM 2007 so I don't know if i'm about to ask a dumb question but here I go.
    I'm trying to pull out a report for the count of computers that run a desktop version of our Ticketing Tool.
    I found the perfect standard report for this in SCCM 2007 which is: Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs.
    in there i have to set two values: 1) the software that i'm willing to count, 2) the collection in which to search.
    for value number 2 I have no problems.
    my problem is in value number 1. When I click the value button to list all known software, he lists all software in a alphabetic way. problem is that it stops at letter "I"... the software i'm looking for starts with an O so it's not listed.
    also if I type the software and then click Values... it replies that it couldn't find the software.
    am I doing something wrong?

    it sound like you are using the filter option with in the old and "crappy" ASP reports. first you should stop using then and only  use the SSRS reports. secondly the filter option will only show the first 1000 rows, there is a reg key to
    allow it to show more.

  • Report Painter - Account descriptions not showing

    Hi guys...I have created a balance sheet in report painter, using a library based on table FAGLFLEXT. this table does not have account descriptions in it, but only account number. The client wants to see the account description as well. Is there a way I include that in my report? Since we are using the new GL, i have used FAGLFLEXT. Please advise how I can accomplish this...can I use a view or a table join between FAGLFLEXT and SKA1?
    please help
    thanks
    Brian

    Dear Brain,
    In the report painter, GRR2, select your report and go to
    Formatting > Section layout
    Select the lead column tab
    Here in the Contents field, select "Key and description"
    That would resolve the issue.

  • S_ALR_87012357 - Tax report (G/L description)

    Hi,
    Is it possible to add the G/L description in the line item of the tax report (S_ALR_87012357), I see there are some user defined fields available for selection in the line item layout, any idea how to define a new field??
    Regards,

    This Tcode uses teh program "RFUMSV00" to give you the data. You cannot get the desired GL description in the standrad report.
    You can show this repot to your ABAPER and ask him to fetch the feilds from the SKA1,SKB1 & SKAT tables.

  • How to printing oracle report by specific printer name  on solaris?

    When running reports
    -http://host/reports/rwservlet?destype=PRINTER&desname=printername&desformat=dflt.prt&report=test.rdf&userid=test/test@TEST&MODE=CHARACTER
    report with destype=printer desname=printername, the report fails with REP-50159 Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output
    if set default printer by add PRINTER=printername export PRINTER; in uiprint.txt
    it can print to printer.
    i found document id 394554.1 in metalink but it can't fix problem.
    https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:342229662272785964::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,394554.1,1,1,1,helvetica
    To fix the problem, execute the following steps:
    1. Take a backup of opmn.xml
    2. Edit opmn.xml and include the path information of the new printer:
    For In-process report server add the path information within <OC4J_BI_Forms>
    Eg:
    <process-type id="OC4J_BI_Forms" module-id="OC4J">
    <environment>
    <variable id="DISPLAY" value="localhost:0"/>
    <variable id="LD_LIBRARY_PATH"
    value="D:\Oracle\product\FRHome_1\lib32:D:\Oracle\product\FRHome_1\lib"/>
    <variable id="PATH" value="//printserver;D:/Oracle/product/FRHome_1/bin;................./>
    </environment>
    Here //printserver is the network drive where is printer is installed.
    For standalone report server add the path information within <reportservername>
    Eg:
    <ias-component id="standalonerepsvr01" status="enabled" id-matching="false">
    <process-type id="ReportsServer" module-id="ReportsServices">
    <process-set id="standalonerepsvr01" restart-on-death="true" numprocs="1">

    <variable id="PATH" value="//printserver;D:/Oracle/product/FRHome_1/bin;........../>
    </environment>
    3. Reload opmn : opmnctl reload
    4. Restart opmn: opmnctl stopall , opmnctl startall
    5. Run the report with destype=printer and desname=newprintername
    my config (solaris)
    oracle application server release 2 (10.1.2.0.2)
    i used axis printserver name is SZ_R02.
    <process-type id="OC4J_BI_Forms" module-id="OC4J">
    <environment>
    <variable id="DISPLAY" value="localhost:0"/>
    <variable id="LD_LIBRARY_PATH_64" value="/data/app/mid/lib:/data/app/mid/network/lib32:/data/app/mid/lib32:/data/app/mid/lib:/data/app/mid/network/lib::/data/app/mid/jdk/jre/lib/sparcv9"/>

  • Which on is better for reporting ODS/INFOCUBES

    Hello expert's
    1.I want to know which one ODS or INFOCUBES are better (technically/functionally) for reporting purpose in BW.if some one is having any comparisons on ODS/INFOCUBE then plz pass on to me.
    2.Are Z tables reliable in case of data updation and fetching when we create ODS/INFOCUBE.
    3.HOW RELIABLE THE "Z"(*TABLES/REPORTS) are in SAP-BW/R/3-ABAP.

    Gaurav,
    1. Cubes are definitely better for repiorting if cubes are used as cubes which would mean :
    a. Cubes should have aggregated data and nto line item data
    b. Cubes should not be used to store master data
    c. Cubes with large amounts of data are regularly compressed and statistics and relevant indexes maintained
    d. You can check the infocube design by using RS_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS ( I do not remember the program name properly )
    ODs on the other hand :
    1. Should be used for storing detail ( line item ) level data
    They need not always be used for reporting
    2.As for your other questions , please define reliabilty ,  there are many definitions for reliability and if you can elaborate on reliability it would make it easier for a directed reply.

  • Reporting on specific folders

    I'm having an issue where I'm trying to get a NFR duplicate file report on a specific user's home directory. I'm searching using Duplicate Files basic search method and adding the entire path to that user's home directory to the target path. It is generating a 16 page report, some of the data is correct but for others it appears to be referencing other user home directories when I click on a random file name and look at that report. When I get to the page that tells me where the file is located I am seeing a completely different user's directory than the one that I specified in the Target directory. What am I doing wrong?

    Are those seemingly spurious files duplicates of files in your target
