Reporting on Border Manager
Hi
Running Border Manager Proxy Server 3.8 on Netware 6.5 sp5, is there a way
to draw reports on internet access for users?

BorderManager has some logging display options built in (described in my BMgr
3.x book - see the URL below), but mostly you are expected to use 3rd-party
log analysis tools.
See tip #21 at the URL below, and tip #72.
As for commercial programs to look at log files, I've heard Cyfin Reported is
good, but pricy. Any program which can read a web server's common log files
could be used to look at your proxy logs, though they may not give the output
you want.

Report : How to show all the reports in Content Management
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how I can show the "Resource Locks" Report in Portal.
I can see 4 reports through Content Management -> Reports i.e. Approval Maintenance, Link Consistency, Resource Statistics, Time-based publishing.
If I want to add more reports over here than "How I can achieve it".
Also I have seen the settings System Administration -> System Configuration -> KM -> CM -> Repository Managers -> Reporting Repository
But here I find no combo box for Active Reports, so from where I can activate the reports and show them in Content Management -> Reports
Please help me.
Regards
DeepDeep,
Are you talkign about the report which give you details of which Portal Objects are currently locked?
If yes, then you can go to System Adminitrator > Monitoring > Object Locking
Hope this helps,
*Points will be appreciated. -

Stock ageing report with batch Management active
Hi Experts,
My client wants a Stock ageing report and batch management is active
According to my client, Inventory ageing report should show stock quantities and stock value as follows,
1. Below one year
2. Between one and two years
3. Above two years
What are the table and fields to be considered for this report.
Thanks
NDSWhat steps do you mean? taking an ABAP course and doing it yourself, or stepping to an ABAPer and let him know what he shall do?
you asked for a stock report, not for a movement report.
If I go into my warehouse and looking at all the stuff sitting there and want a report that should tell me how old this stuff is, then i am not intrested if there was a goods receipt movement.
However I would like to know the last movement date. In this case you have to look into table S032 or into the movements MSEG (with MKPF as header table) -

Under Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008, I have the following:
SQL Server Management Studio
Configuration Tools
Integration Services
Import and Export Data
Under Configuration Tools, I have the following:
SQL Server Installation Center
SQL Server Configuration Manager
SQL Server Error and Usage Reporting
Reporting Services Configuration Manager
I tried to enable Reporting Services through 'Reporting Services Configuration Manager' but I don't seem to have much control from this view. I see two boxes, one named Server Name (and it shows my server name) and the other is named Report Servicer Instance (and this is grayed out). If I click on the Find box next to Server Name, I get this message:
Report Server WMI Provider Error: Invalid Namespace
Details
Invalid Namespace
To get the Server Name I right-clicked SQL Server > Properties > General
Any ideas on how to make Reporting Services Configuration Manager work? Or, can you please give me more details on how to access "System control" => "Services"? I'm not seeing it anywhere and I'm not seeing any way to find "Sql Server Reporting Services". Basically, I'm trying to activate my SQL Server Reporting Services.
I am using SQL Server 2008 Express Management Studio. Is SQL Server Reporting Services included in Express Management Studio? I read, online, that it is, but I can't find it anywhere.
Thanks again!

<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!-- Session data--></input> <input id="jsProxy" onclick="jsCall();" type="hidden" />Thanks Jerry Nee!! This may be exactly what I’m looking for! I went to this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=B5D1B8C3-FDA5-4508-B0D0-1311D670E336&displaylang=en#filelist
At the top of the page it says, ‘Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Express with Advanced Services’, which seems like this is what I’m looking for, so I downloaded the file named ‘SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe’
Then, I cut that from my desktop and pasted it in my C-drive and I get a message that says, ‘this folder already contains a file named ‘SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe’, would you like to replace the existing file?’
I’m thinking…what the heck? Do I already have this thing? If so, why can’t I see SQL Server Reporting Services? Maybe I have it now, and I just don’t know how to access the reporting Services features…
Couple quick questions:
What’s the difference b/w these two files:
‘SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe’ and ‘SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe’?
Also, my current version of SSMS, Help > About shows this:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Microsoft .NET Framework

Should Server Reporting Services be included in this version? I think so!!!
Under Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 > Configuration Tools > Reporting Services Configuration Manager, I see this:
Connect to a report server instance:

Report Server Instance:
My server name is ‘'EXCEL-4J2W8KYNP', which I got from Control Panel > System Properties > Computer Name > Full Computer Name;
However, when I put that server name in the box, and hit ‘Find’ I get this message: ‘Report Server WMI Provider error’ Invalid namespace
Details: Invalid Namespace.
I have no idea what this means…
Thanks for everything!

Generating pdf report via concurrent manager and xml publisher
I have report (rdf) which works fine in eBusiness Suite but Id like to create translatable reports with reach layout (comparing with the Report Builder) based on the functionalities of the XML publisher. Ive made all necessary steps (first change the output format for that report in concurrent manager from pdf to xml, submit the report to get xml file, which Ive used in Microsoft Word Template Builder to make layout in rtf file, and create data and template in XML Publisher Administrator in eBusiness Suite).
When Ive submitted that report from concurrent manager, after the concurrent manage finished his job I got the warning message.
Also the output file is not generated and in log file there is a message: One or more post-processing actions failed. Consult the OPP service log for details.
Concurrent manager works fine, but there are problem when concurrent manager send the xml output of the report to XML Publisher which have to create pdf layout based on rtf template.
I think there might be a problem with report complexity, while Ive used layout formatting, api calls to eBusiness Suite, parameters, placeholders, attached library etc.
If it is impossible to get new report based on xml publisher template, what is the purpose of xml publisher if it is so limited, while every eBusiness Suite Report is so complex.
I hope there will be a person on this forum with the same problem, otherwise Ill give up at all from XML Publisher, at least until it come a better version of that tool which it seems to be in early development phase and not ready for the market yet.All of the complex report logic is handled in your Oracle Report (rdf) file.
If your Oracle report is working OK, then this report should be generating XML.
After running your report, go to the View Requests window. Highlight your request, and click the Diagnostics button. Then click the 'View XML' button. If you see XML data, then you should be OK.
When I faced a similar issue, it was because the '1 step' process didnt work for the particular report I was using. The '1 step' process doesn't work for every report. Which report are you using?
If the report is submitted via a form (not the concurrent manager request form), then you probably need to use 2 steps to produce the desired output.

Border Manager 3.8.5 and S2S VPN
I have a couple of questions with Border Manager and S2S VPN. Everything
is up and running, we can ping both servers (Netware 6.5.6), we can ping
workstations attached to each others network, we can access programs from
each others network. Everything seems to be working great. The question I
have is this - on both servers, under Remote Manager, VPN Monitoring, both
show as 'Being Configured'. I do not think that this is an issue but there
is another error in the Audit Log. The error -
"Proposal Mismatch - Quick Mode: ESP - transform mismatch mine: esp des
his: esp 3des dst: xx.xx.xx.xx src: xx.xx.xx.xx cookies
my-his:17B2D88772DE1D61 - 4F15FFD50824F821".
This appears on both servers Audit Log.
Is this a legit error or a information error? I used Craig Johnson's 'A
Beginner's Guide To BorderManager 3.x' but ended up making both VPN's
masters as per Novell TID - 10095268.
If anyone has an insight as to what these errors are and if there is a
fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes the imanager snapin can not get the current status of the
connection from vpinf so it shows 'Being Configured'. It can take some
times, maybe days to change the status.

This is not an error, it is an information message.

Need to find employees reporting to a manager
Hi All,
I am new to HR module.
Basically, i need to develop a report which would list out all the employees reporting to a given manager ID. I am trying to understanding how this org unit, positions and users are tied to each other and what set of tables or function modules are involved in knowing all the employees reporting to a manager.
If my question is unclear, please let me know.
Thanks,
SKJSKJ,
Hope this helps.
1. I had to pass 002 (Reports (line) to ) Instead of 008 to RELAT to get all those positions reporting to manager position fould in step1. Is this correct?
Ans : 002 Relation is the Reporting Relation and 008 is Holder Relationship.
002 will help you to identify the relation ie, which position reports to which position. but if you want to know who is holding the position, you will need 008 relation.
In your case both relation may be required.
2. Does your steps work in any system? I mean, no matter how the data is set up in HRP1001?
Ans : This is the standard System behavior. Unless there is specific changes.
3. Can you also let me know how to start deriving this at company code level? I also have company code termed as Line of Business on my selection. User may enter only company code and i will have to extract everything.
Ans : If you have setup account assignmnet setting for the OU, then you should be able to do that. -
Missing reports in Report and Layout manager
Hi Experts,
i need to convert with Crystal Converter some PLD Tax reports.
The problem is that under Tax Reports tree, in report and layout manager, reports of typecode 'RB01' are missing!
Why are they missing??
Is there any other way to convert them even if missing?
i can see them in the tax report form, selecting tax register block and press ok.
From the print layout designer they are listed.
Please help.

Can't connect to Report Server via Management Studio
Hi,
I have a local installation of SQL Server 2005 (Developer Edition) on XP Professional SP2, with Reporting Services, Integration Services, and Analysis Server installed.
I can connect to Integration Services and Analysis Server via the SQL Server Management Studio, but not to the Report Server. I can access and use the Report Server installation via http://localhost/Reports and http://localhost/ReportServer, and everything checks out on the Reporting Services Configuration tool, so the server appears to be working fine.
I've uninstalled/re-formatted/reinstalled the services (with all default options, and services running as "Local Service"), but always end up with the following error when connecting to Report Server via Management Studio:
