Reporting Role

I have created a Role via PFCG. I didnu2019t assign any authorization in this Role. I want to save my Query into this Role. All looks good. I assigned Role to my user ID. In Query Designer, when I want to save the Query into this Role, I canu2019t find this role.
What is missing?

HI,
1. Go to PFCG
2. Enter the Role that needs to be modified
3. Click <Change> button for modifying the role.
4. Click the <Menu> Button to get to the existing list of Queries or Workbooks
5. Expand and click on the Folder to which the Query  needs to be added.
6. Click <Report> button in the menu to add the Query
7. Click the radio button <BW Report>
8. Enter the system generated 25 character ID in the <Report ID> field
and press Enter.
9. Save the Role for the New Query.

  • Unable to see empty reporting role folders

    Hi all,
I am facing an issue where the Reporting Roles containing the empty folders aren't visible in Bex..
I want to create a query and assign it to the newly created folder. But the folder is empty as  of now, and hence not visible when i try to save the query.
    Any information would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Manisha

    Hi there,
Create a new role in PFCG transaction which you want to input your query.
Assign that role to your user.
Go to the query designer and edit your query.
Choose Publish->To Role and you'll see all the available roles assigned to your user (including the new one). You can publish that query into that new role (and also create new folders inside the list of the available roles).
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Diogo.

  • BW Reporting Role management

    Hi,
We have BI Reporting roles in which we publish new queries from Query designer.
Currently BI Developers develop a query in Dev Box and publish it to relevant role and transport both query and role to PRD box.
But now Power Users are allowed to create their own queries directly in PRD box and publish in role  (Those queries are not available in Dev box)
Now as a developer as per new requirement I am developing a query in Dev box and published it to the role (same role to which power users published their queries in PRD box)
Currently Role is not consistent between Dev & PRD as in PRD where will be more queries published to it
What will happen when I transport the role with a new query to PRD is it going to over write all the queries published to it
    Thanks

    Hi,
Best solutioni in your case would be develop the Query in Development but Publish it to role only in Production after Transport.
This will remove any issues of overwrite etc.
Another way could be time to time you tranport back the Roles/Queries to Dev System

  • Enable Access of  Intranet BW report roles to WEB  in EP.

    Hi All,
I Created a SAP BW connector system. Now I am able to fetch BW Reports to EP. But the problem is , Now I can observe that role only in the local network. How can I enable it on the web(<b>Internet</b>), so that, through the portal the respective users can access the BW Report roles across the whole world.
    Awaiting for ur reply...

    Thanks for replying Mahesh.
I wanted this on a new page, hence its 1.
However I could come up with the strange solution- I just changed the isolation method to URL and it worked fine. I am not sure how could that help, but its working fine now.
    Thanks,

  • CM12 Reporting Role problems

I have been trying to resolve an issue where my central admin site which was assigned the reporting services role stopped working. SSRS was operating but there seemed to be a problem with the reporting user account. I did all sorts of stuff including allowing
this account the ability to logon locally and I still couldn't get past the issue. Basically I could see reports in both the web reporting console and the SCCM native console but whenever I attempted to run a report I received errors about unable to impersonate
the reportsuser account. I let months go by and just didn't use the reporting function but now I need it again and cannot get this thing working.
I decided to try and reinstall the role from scratch so here are the steps I followed:
1.) Removed the Reporting Services point role from my CA
2.) Deleted the folder named: SMS_SRSRP from the CA
3.) Opened Services console and stopped SQL Server Reporting Services for my database server
4.) Opened SQL Management Studio and deleted the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB databases from my database server
5.) Restarted SSRS in Services and used Reporting Services Configuration Manager to recreate the native ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB (confirmed creation in SQL Management Studio).
6.) Created a new AD account for reports user so that there wouldn't be any issues using the old account and added the account to local GP on the CA to allow interactive logon and RDP logon
7.) proceeded through the Reporting Service point role in SCCM (being careful to run the console on the CA in a local administrative context). I observed that the file folder SMS_SRSRP was created and the reports copied to it.
8.) Ran IE as an admin and added the new reports user account and the SCCM administrator to the SSRS site and assigned roles.
It was at this point that problems became evident. The first thing I noticed was a strange behavior where the folder: ConfigMgr_MAD was being replicated with an extension of .OLD.# on a continual basis every few minutes. Also, if I open ConfigMgr_MAD I cannot
see reports (only the details for the folder).
The next thing that was evidence of a problem is that going into SCCM console to the Monitoring node and under Reports, there are no reports listed.
Furthermore I dug into the SSRS log and I found that the errors seem to indicate that there is a problem accessing a file location and the forward slashes seem to point to IIS as a problem (or at least that the file location is a virtual/web folder)
but I am not sure why this should be the case.
The context of this error from the SSRS log is as follows:
    library!ReportServer_0-1!d70!02/12/2015-10:03:59:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ItemNotFoundException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ItemNotFoundException: The item '/ConfigMgr_MAD/{5C6358F2-4BB6-4a1b-A16E-8D96795D8602}'
    cannot be found.;
So it seems that the problems have to do with SSRS writing to IIS but that doesn't explain why SCCM console can't show the reports unless the issue is that both the web console and SCCM console use IIS to generate the report presentation. I might be way
off base with the path I have gone down but would certainly appreciate any help the community could provide. I really need to get this reporting services point operational again and I don't really have time or resources to rebuild my CA at this time.
    V/r,
    Chris Bolton

As I continue to troubleshoot I went so far as to remove SQL Reporting Services from my CA entirely, reboot and installed SQL Reporting Services again. I also removed the folders where Reporting Services existed before I reinstalled. I had hoped that there
was simply a corruption in SSRS that may be resolved through removal, reload and reconfig. The results were not as I had hoped and the problem persists once I had re-setup the Reporting Service Point in SCCM. I dug into the SRSRP.LOG file to see what it reports
and I found this (I have highlighted in bold where I think the problem items are):

So this seems to indicate that there is a problem with the SSRS process locating the SQL instance and that the SSRS service cannot be accessed by ConfigMgr?
I am going to remove the Reporting Services Point role again and let this sit for a couple of days while everyone out there has a chance to ruminate on the issue.

  • Management report - Role analysis

    Hi guys,
So here's my issue, I inadvertently scheduled a role analysis without specifying the project roles which are about 200 +.  Thus, role analysis under the management report view constantly shows the  results of the analysis of about 2000 + roles which is a combination of both SAP delivered roles and project roles. Every subsequent batch and full syncs I've scheduled seemingly gets aggregated with the initial sync which has all the SAP delivered roles.
    Question.
    1. I understand I have to purge the database at the backend. The basis team strongly advices against this. Can I possibly purge the role analysis in the CC front end? What are my options here? I only want to see the role analysis of our 200 + project developed roles.

    Dear Adewale,
I understand your requirement, please check the following.
There are two ways to see Role based Risk Analysis, and both depends upon your requirements.
    1) Suppose, You have a requirement to see consolidated Role based Risk Analysis of a particular system. That means you want to generate a report for all the roles and want to see which roles are violating, mitigated, critical, high, medium and low in your system. For this you can go to Informer tab and generate Role based Risk Analysis Report.
In this report the advantage is that you get a pie chart and bar graph. But you can not generate reports on the basis of some particular roles, because there is no such functionality provided in CC 5.2
    2) In other case if you wish to generate a Role based Risk Analysis report by specifying a condition like (z*), Here you also have option to select Report Type, risk Level etc  but yes, there is no functionality to see the result in graphs or charts in CC 5.2
So in both ways your requirement to generate project roles risk analysis report in graph format can not be achieved. For this you only have two options.
    1. Raise an enhancement request to SAP Support.
    2. To go with the second option mentioned above, select report type to be management summary and export the results to excel and generate graphs manually.
    I understand this is painful.

  • Interactive reporting role ---

    Hi,
We are having issue in Interactive reporting that , I can not see the job description/information in workspace when my team member schedule the job in workspace.
It is happening with my team member when I schedule a job even though both have same privileges.
We both have roles like " content manager and Schedule Manager ".
What would be the right role to see schedules of the jobs of the each other.
    Thanks,
    Ganesh

Which version are you using? I know I had a problem in HPS 8.5 and earlier just like you describe. It's entirely possible that this oddity still exists.

  • V.Urgent:Hyperion Interactive Reporting Role in WebAnalysis to BO XI R2

    Hi All,
How Hyperion Interactive Reporting web analysis is better than BO XI R2 for reporting capabilities. Also how easy is it to use Hyperion Interactive Reporting Web Analysis for reporting.
This is very very urgent for me. Please share your inputs and thoughts.
    Thanks alot in Advance.
    Regards,
    Upendra

    Upendra
Hyperion Interactive Reporting and web analysis is two different things in Hyperion
    Hyperion Interacting Reporting features
    Adcock Analysis
    Drill-Up, Drill-down
    Real time Data
    Dynamic
    Dashboards
    Visual Analysis (Charts)
    Pivot views of data
    Open for all data base
    web analysis works on essbase
but you can fetch data from RDBMS also by giving some extra inputs
    I don't know about BO
    Hope it will works

  • Forms/Reports: Role of the Database cache and Web cache

    Hello oracle experts,
I am running a purely Forms and Reports based environment (9iAS).
    My question are:
    a. Is it possible to use features from the Web Cache and
Database Cache to boost the performance of my applications?
    b. Are all components monitorable from the OEM?
Please guide me so that i can configure my OEM to monitor my
    forms and reports services.
thanks in advance for your reply
    Kind regards
    Yogeeraj

    Hi BradW,
The way this is supposed to be done in Web Cache is by keeping separate copies of a cached page for different types of browsers distinguished by User-Agent header.
In case of cache miss, Web Cache expects origin servers to return appropriate version of the page based on browser type, and the page from the origin server is just forwarded back to browser.
Here, if the page is cacheable, Web Cache retains a separate copy for each type of User-Agent header value.
And when there is a hit on this cached page, Web Cache returns the version of page with the User-Agent header that matches the request.
Check out the config screen titled "Header Association" for this feature.
About forwarding requests to different origin servers based on User-Agent header value, Web Cache does not have such capability.

  • Problems with report builder 3.0 in SCCM 2012 R2 CU2

    Hi All
I have problems with editing  (Using Report builder) existing reports  or creating new ones in SCCM 2012 R2 CU2
We version of SQL we use is SQL 2008 R2 SP2
I already asked this question in the SCCM 2012 forum but the problem is not related to SCCM but has something to do with application report builder
I changed the registry key and edited the Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.exe.config.xml as described in the following link

Afterwards I try to edit an report I see report builder is being downloaded and after it generates the following error “Application did not succeed. Unable to continue”

    Hi Miss Katherine,
    1. I went through the SQL steps in the link you posted
    2. I updated the Reg Key and Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.exe.config file with 3.0 on both the
    server and the console machine.
    3. I copied the .DLL file from your OneDrive and replaced the existing one on the server.
    4. I uninstalled and re-installed the reporting role on the server and received the 1015 in the log.
    5. I restarted the server and the client machine
I do get a slightly different error now after using the new DLL

  • CRM based Business Partner Reporting for Retailers

    Hello,
has anyone build a Business Partner Reporting based on CRM Data?
We want to report roles, relations, marketing etc.
What is the basic datamodel you use? Do you save Data in ODS using InfoSet or do you use InfoCubes or else?
At the moment we use ODS and InfoSet but we are facing timeouts and performance problems when there are too many business partners chosen.
    Thanks in advance!
    Angelika

    Hi!
you have to use ODS objects for loading data into BW no alternative available.
I think you have to solve performance problems by fine tuning the system or by changing the datamodel.

  • Create a daily report that shows IIS App Pool and Site States/Health at a specific time.

    Hi All,
I need to create a report that will be sent out by 6AM everyday to a DG. The report needs to show the Health / State of selected Application Pools, Sites, and Windows services running on ~20 production servers. The servers show up
in SCOM just fine. ('Application Pool State', 'Web Site State', etc.) I can see what I need in the Monitoring view, but did not find a way to create the report I need in Reporting or Authoring.
I've looked through the documentation and the forums and have not found what I need...at least I don't think so.  I just did not see how I can capture the Health/State at a specific time for the selected Objects and send out
    the results.
Seems like this would be a common request. Basically, we just need to know that our web applications are running before the start or business, without manually logging in to each server and typing a report.
I've scripted some of what we need with WMI/PowerShell, and piped out to an email. The problem is that several of our servers our locked down or don't have the appropriate components installed to work with remote scripting. (don't ask...life in a
    big corporation!)
Since we have SCOM installed throughout the network, I am hoping it will get us the info we need. Any help or ideas would be very appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hello Zrider,
Well, first of you need to make sure you have the Reporting feature installed on SCOM.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh298611.aspx
Next, try navigating to the Reporting node, then go to the Microsoft Generic Library report folder and open the Health report.
    Now, select Object.
Click Options in order to select the required Classes. Type 'Application Pool' for example. Select the version you want and click OK.
Now, click Search. Select the instances you want.
Go back to Options and type and select the class 'Web Site'. Apply the filter then Search. Repeat the process for any other class/instance you want then click ok.
Run the report. If the information displayed is the one you want, go to the top left area, click File, Schedule.
    Done.
This is one way. You've mentioned using powershell with wmi but probably you are using PS remoting to the targets and of course not all hosts are enabled for remoting, or some might run Windows Server 2003 withouth powershell installed.
An alternative would be to run a PS script against the SCOM server and send the reports via email. This works even if you don't have the SCOM Reporting role installed!
    You could do something like:
    Import-Module OperationsManager
    $WebSiteClass = Get-SCOMClass -DisplayName "Web Site"
    $IISAppPoolClass = Get-SCOMClass -DisplayName "IIS Application Pool"
    $WebSites = Get-SCOMClassInstance -Class $WebSiteClass
    $IISApps = Get-SCOMClassInstance -Class $IISAppPoolClass
$WebSites | select IsAvailable, HealthState, Path, DisplayName
$IISApps | select IsAvailable, HealthState, Path, DisplayName
That will get you the basic info you need to setup an array and send them through email.
    I hope that helps.
