Reporting Services Cube Parameters not generated automatically

Hi, I have a few reports which display data from an Analysis Services cube.
For example my report uses Dateset1 as the source of the report.
When I modify Dataset1 by adding a new parameters in the Query Designer, a new (hidden) dataset is created called: CustomerAgeCustomerAge.
But a new parameter on the report is not automatically generated. In the Dataset1 - Dataset Properties \ Parameters there is an entry for the parameter which should be created e.g. [@CustomerAgeCustomerAge]. I can work around this but I'd like to find the
cause. Is there a max number of parameters which are generated automatically - my report has 12.

Based on my understanding, when you add a new parameter in dataset query, the parameter doesn’t generate automatically in report parameters.
In Reporting Service, when we define a dataset query that contains a query variable, the query command is parsed. For each query variable, a corresponding dataset parameter and report parameter are created automatically. As we tested in our environment,
even we create thirteen parameters in data set query, corresponding parameters automatically appear both in report parameters and dataset parameters in dataset properties.
So in your scenario, I would like to know how about your query with those parameters. If possible, please provide some screenshots of results before and after you add a new parameter in dataset query.

I'm trying to install TFS 2013 on a remote SQL RS instance.
Using the TFS 2103 U4 installation
SQL 2012 RS, name instance, Server: SQLProdA, Instance Name COMRS
When I enabled tracing using debugView I see the following output:

Thanks for the help. I already saw those links, and am already trying with the format. As I wrote above:
Server: SQLProdA, Instance Name COMRS
So I wrote in the box "SQLProdA\COMRS" (without quotes of course) and I still keep getting that error.
I don't know if it matters, but although this is indeed a named instance, nonetheless, the path to the report server uses the default url (ie.
http://servername/reports) as opposed to the name instance version (ie.
http://servername_instance/reports) as mentioned by your link and this post:

But, I checked with Fiddler on the server and didn't see it trying to even access the link so I don't think it is related. I saw with Process Monitor that it is indeed trying to access via the network resources on SQLProdA, so I know it's trying.
I have noticed something in the past, and wondered if this could be the issue, that for example if I have Management Studio 2014 installed, I cannot connect to a Reporting Services instance which is 2012. Only when Management Studio 2012 is installed
and being used can I connect. I wondered if this possibly could be related, that maybe the API or something else which the installer is using is missing some component to connect to the RS instance.
Just in case, I already installed both the SQL 2012 and 2014 Client Tools Connectivity (although I first installed 2014, and then 2012).
Do you think this could be the issue? If not, do you possibly have any other leads?

Reporting Services Point Role - Not installing

Hi,
I installed SCCM 2012 R2 and SQL Server Standard 2012 with Reporting Services. SCCM is running in secure (HTTPS) mode for both MP and DP. I have also configured SQL Reporting Services WEB URL for HTTPS (443)
Now I'm trying to install the Reporting Service Point Role but it wont install.
If I check Monitoring --> Reporting --> Reports its blank. Reporting Services on SQL Server is working properly.
I have the following errors reported
"Site Component Manager failed to configure site system "

I'm also seeing these in SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER
Hierarchy Monitoring detected that the SQL Server xxxx.xxx.xx Service Broker certificate has missed or is expired, and failed to remediate with Error Failed to read SQL SSB certificate..
Any ideas why this is happening?
I ran this query and looks like the cert is fine

Reporting service 1 does not work

when I start the service "hyperion reporting service1" the system sent a message "The Hyperion S) BI+ 9.3Interactive Reporting Service 1 service on local computer startedand then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have nowork to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alertsservice." I don't have any idea about where i nedd to search for log'sfiles or error files. If you configure Reporting Service for TFS 2013 Server, TFS will create the warehouse database and Tfs_Analysis cube database, then TFS report files will get data from cube. Please refer to below documents:

Reporting services integration feature not available in 2010 experience mode site collection.

I have a 2013 SP farm with SQL reporting services 2012 configured. When I create a site collection using the 2010 experience mode, I don't see the "Reporting Services Integration" feature under site collection features. However this feature is
available when I create a site collection in 2013 experience mode. Is there a way I can activate the "Reporting Services integration" feature in a site created in 2010 experience mode? I am not able to activate the feature on a 2010 experience mode
site collection using PowerShell either.

From your description, When you create a site collection using the 2010 experience mode, the "Reporting Services Integration" feature is missed. However this feature is available when you create a site collection in 2013 experience mode.
For your issue, whether your 2010 experience mode site collection is in the same web application with the 2013 mode site collection. if not, make sure the web application which contains the 2010 site collecction have been
enabled ssrs service,
Go to CA->Application Management->Manage web applications-Choose the web application->Click Service Connections->Check SSRS, refer to the screenshot:
Besides, I suggest you create a new 2010 mode site collection with the same tempalte and the same web application with 2013 mode site collection, compare the results.
Also you can upgrade you 2010 mode site collection to the 2013 mode and compare the results.

Crystal Reports 2008 - dynamic parameters not returing all data

I am having the same issue with Crystal Reports 2008. Only returning 135 customers in a dynamic paramaters when the list should be 3288.
When I re-create the parameter by using a command instead of relying on Crystal to return the data from the db table Crystal returns only 5"pages" of customers to select from.
I have tried to run the report with this reduced selection & it then crashes.
Any ideas??

Symptom
For performance reasons, in Crystal Reports XI Release 1 and Release 2 the maximum number of values that are returned for a list of values is set to 1000. If you have a cascading List of Values (for example Country > Region > City), the lowest level (in this case City) will only display a maximum of 1000 values. This means that the higher-level prompts may display far fewer values than you expect. The list of values provides the data for the dynamic parameter list.
How can you modify the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list?
Resolution
To increase the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list, you must add a registry key.
CAUTION     The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
Crystal Reports XI Release 1
1.     Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.

Reporting Services Unicode Parameters Cause Performance Issues

When I create a report using string parameters, reporting services sends the SQL to SQL Server with an N prefix on the string parameters. This is the behavior even when the underlying data table has no unicode datatypes. This causes SQL Server to do a scan instead of a seek on these queries. Can this behavior be modified to send the parameters as non-unicode text?

Work around to overcome SSRS report performance due to UNICODE conversion issue:
I have used a new parameter (of type Internal) which collects/duplicates the original parameter values as comma separated in string.
In the report Dataset query, parse the comma separated string into a list into a vairable table using XML trick.
Use the variable table in WHERE IN clause
Steps:
Create a new Internal parameter (call it InternalParameter1)
Under Default Values -> Specify values : Add Exp : =join( Parameters!OrigParameter1.Value,",")
Pass/Use the InternalParameter1 in your dataset query.
Example code

Reporting Services - Horizontal Scrollbar not scrolling sometimes fields exceed page width

We have a landscape report with lots of fields, causing report to span in width, more than page width. We don't print the report, just view it. Problem is that sometimes when previewing the report, the horizontal scroll bar opens to a size of the whole report
window and there's no actual scrolling functionality to have the report show what's to the right of the data shown.
We checked this with IE8, IE9, and as it seems there are entries on the internet about such problem, but we haven't encounted an entry with solution / bypass to this problem, when relating to preview within report builder / VS / Reporting Services in
IE (they relate there only to reportviewer control if at all).
We did find that in this event, manually zooming the IE window where the report result is shown, helps the horizontal scroll bar go back to what it should be, and work, e.g. zooming down to 75% and returning in zoom up to 100%....

F-58, Check not generating automatically

Dear all,
I am posting document through F-58 and I am giving House bank and Check lot number(sequential check lot). System generating output and outgoing document, but check number not populating in forms. I checked check register, system not posting check information. It is clearing Vendor open item and check not generated. I done APP senting for house bank.
Could you please tell me the possible causes for not generating check info.

Windows Service (SMB) does not start automatically

I have a client with an Xserve G5 running 10.4.8 with all software updates applied. Recently, the client decided to buy a new Ricoh multi-function printer, copier, fax machine. We've configured a share point on the server that the Ricoh uses to deposit the incoming faxes and scans. It works fine, but the downside is that it only works over SMB or FTP. I went with SMB (Windows Sharing) because of Apple's flakey implementation of FTP over the years.
The problem is that when the server gets rebooted -- due to power outtage, software update, whatever -- the Windows sharing does not turn itself on like all of the services do. I have to go into Server Admin and turn on Windows sharing manually.
Is there any way to get the Windows Sharing to turn on automatically at boot up like all of the other services do?

In short, I had to disable the "Workgroup Master Browser" setting in Server Admin > Windows Service > Settings > Advanced. This is enabled by default, by the way.

Service Station does not start automatically

Good morning,
recently the Toshiba Service Station application does not start when Windows (8.1) starts. If I launch the application manually, it runs normally.
I would like to restore the automatic start of that application. What can I do?

You can add the application (service station) to the Win 8.1 startup.
Go to the Start screen
Click on the down arrow to show all your applications
Right click on the application you would like to have start automatically.
Select Open file location
This will bring up the location (url) where the program is started
Right click and select Copy
On your computer, from the same Explorer window, go to:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Window s\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Note: USERNAME must be replaced by the name of the user that is logging in.
Then select Paste Shortcut
After that, the next time you log on, that program will start automatically.

Service p.o. not generated

hi gurus,
as i m settling the shipment cost in vi02 system is not automatically generating the p.o. which it should generate ,i belive.
i've done all the configuration settings in img
i m not able to know what triggers automatic p.o. genation may be thaen i could check,

In MD04 requirement date is on 5.12.2009.My source list validity starts from 1.12.2008 onwards.When i run the MRP for the material system generates the Purchase requisition instead of the schedlue lines.When i change the source list validity as 25.11.2008 now i run the MRP system generates the schedule lines.
My question is why the system couldn't able to generate the schedule lines when the validity starts on 1.12.2008.In the source list we maintained the scheduling agreement and maintaine the MRP setting as 2.

Master Data uploaded to ODS not generated automatically

Hello gurus!!
I have an issue with a query that gets its information from and ODS.
After the variable selection is done the error message:
"Value '' (hex. '') of characteristic contains invalid characters"
"System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form RSRDR;SRRK0F30-01-" (BRAIN 299 )
If you go to the ODS you can see the lines correctly but you can't see them on the Bex query.. workbooks.. etc.
The issue has the following remarks:
1. Comes up on certain selection (not all)
2. The issue lies over the uploaded data from ECC system..
3. Data is loaded directly (meaning it doesn't have any other ODS or object between ECC and it self..
4. The Infopackage is loading information and it has the "Always update data, even if no master data exists for the data" flag marked. But it doesn't update master data correctly for 2 characteristcis.. meaning it updates data for most but some lines are in the ODS that don't exist in the MD..
5. Both these characteristics are texts.. and if I add a blank space or delete it from R3 and delete and reload in BW it works correctly.. But there are to many issues and its very time consumin to solve one line at a time.
6. Both these Characteristics hace there sid table but they cant be maintained since they don't have Master data table or views..
I've tried using RSRV transaction so solve it, since it detects SID issues but it doesn't work..
I've also tried marking the "Lowercase Letters" flag in the characteristics and reloading but it doesn't work eather..
I've searched for SAP notes but haven't been able to find a note that could solve this issue..
