Reporting services Installation with Globalization Locale Settings

Hi Guys,
We have a problem in report Subscription using File share date format rendering. The File share works properly. But the
data showing in Subscription "pdf"  like Date format not displaying properly based on different countries.
It always shows in  "US format-MM/dd/yyyy".I tried hard in searching ,I tried by changing ssrs expression with "User-Language" or "GLobalization" nothing works. some solutions say that some configuration based on sql server
or  sql reporting services. Is there any solution for this.
any solution for this is appreciated.
tnkx guys,
r.b

Hi R.b,
From your description, you want to change the datetime format dynamically, right? The datetime format is depend on the Formate setting on the Report Server (Start>Control Pane>Clock,Language, and Region>Region and Language). I am afraid we cannot
change it dynamically base a report item's value on the report.
If I have anything misunderstood, please point it out.

  • SQL server reporting services installation

    HI all,
During the SQL server 2008 Reporting Services installation, select the Install the default
configuration option to associate the default Reporting Services instance
to BPC." In my case, the only available option on the Configuration is "Install but not configure". The other two, the "Native m
ode default configuration" and the "Sharepoint integration" are grayed out or disabled.
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Raghuram.

    Yes Raghu,
you have to select the third option.
So the RS components and services will be installed but it will be necessary to open after the installation configuration tool for RS.
There you have to follow step by step and to provide the required information.
Like RS user service or where is the SQL Server or where you have to create the Reports database and others...
It is not really a big deal to configure the RS if you follow all the steps.

    Hi There,
Also the Account name and password have to be entered below for mappings:
Data Warehouse Action Account - is for the Data writer account.
Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account - is for the Data reader account
The one which is blacked out in the screenshot will be the main SCOM Action account.

  • Run Reporting services 2005 with databases housed on SQL Server 2012?

Hi, I have a RS 2005 install in which the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB databases reside on a different SQL Server 2005 server. I am planning to upgrade DB server to 2012 and would like to keep SSRS as 2005.As a second phase I will upgrade SSRS2005
to SSRS 2008. So I would be running something like this:
Server A: SQL 2005 Reporting Services
Server B: SQL 2012 database engine - housing ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB
    Is this configuration supported?

    Hello,
    According to the
BOL, Report Server service checks the database version at startup. If the report server is connected to a database that is an earlier version, the report server will update the database during startup. If you have a newer report server database, you
cannot use it with an earlier version of a report server instances.
In that case, the earlier versions of SQL Server Database Engine that can be used to host the SSRS report server databases. For example, In SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services, we can use either SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005 to host the databases, for
SSRS 2012, we can use SQL Server 2012,2008 R2,2008,2005.
Based on my test, In the Reporting Services 2005 Configure Manager, we can create a new database on a remote SQL Server 2012 database engine and the Initialization is successful.
In this way, the databases are created from the script file which installed with the Reporting Services instance, you can find the Catalog.sql and CatalogTempDB.sql  under folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer.
However, when upgrade the existing ReportServer database and ReportServerTempDB database on the SQL Server 2012 by restore from a backup, we cannot use this existing database for Reporting Services 2005 and get the following message:
The database version (162) does not match your reporting serivces installation. And the initialization failed.
In your case, you can host the ReportServer database and ReportServerTempDB database of SSRS 2005 on SQL Server 2012 database enginer by create a new database from Reporting Services 2005 Configure Manager. But you cannot use the existing
database which upgrade to SQL Server 2012.

  • Reporting Services installation bodged.

a bit of background, I recently started a contract at a company to architect and build a Data Warehouse solution. The company is using SQL 2012 BI edition with a sharepoint front end for dashboard delivery.
The issue I have found is that the Reporting services install has been completed in a rather strange way, while its configured in Sharepoint integrated mode in a server farm its actually been installed in Native mode on the Backend server.   It
also appears that the individual who did the initial installation just clicked through all options and installed everything within SQL Server (DQS,MDS, RS, AS (olap) etc) on the backend server.
This means that when reports are deployed to Sharepoint site it cannot connect to the RS back end as the back end is in native mode, and the RS back end cannot connect to the repository as the RS DB is in Sharepoint mode.
I have a demo to the Exec board to show progress and a few examples of dashboards later this week so time is pressing.
I would like to run through the options I can see and get some advice as i dont really want to take down the already configured Sharepoint site.
    1) Quick Fix : To get through the demo create an RS Native mode DB and link to RS that way (not ideal but gets me through the demo)
    2) Long term fix : Uninstall the Backend RS server and reinstall with RS in integrated mode.
I'm not familiar with Sharepointso i'm unsure how to proceed with the restructuring of the RS when I can get do the Longterm fix, the question is :
Do I have to uninstall the Sharepoint RS components, as well as the backend RS components or am i able to leave them in place and just uninstall and reinstall RS on the back end server?
Are there any implications of just reinstalling RS on the back end server in Integrated mode?
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
There are some misunderstanding about the SharePoint mode report server and the Native mode report server in SSRS 2012 from your description.
Since the release of SQL Server 2012, Reporting Services SharePoint Integrated mode has been changed from a Windows Service to be a SharePoint Shared Service. In this way, Reporting Services Configuration Manager no longer supports Reporting Services SharePoint
mode, and all the configurations of SharePoint mode is completed using SharePoint Central Administration. In SSRS 2008 R2 or lower version, only one report server (either native mode or SharePoint integrated mode) can be active at one time in one SSRS instance.
In SSRS 2012, the SharePoint integrated mode report server and the Native mode report server are independent and they can run separately at the same time in one SSRS 2012 instance.
In your original post, you said that:
"This means that when reports are deployed to SharePoint site it cannot connect to the RS back end as the back end is in native mode, and the RS back end cannot connect to the repository as the RS DB is in SharePoint mode."
I would explain that it is incorrect, because SharePoint mode report server doesn’t communicate with the report server database of the Native mode report server no matter it is SSRS 2012 or SSRS 2008 (R2). SharePoint mode report server has its own databases
    in the Database Engine.
If you encounter an error when deploying a report to the SharePoint mode report server, please use the following steps to narrow down the root cause:
First, make sure the SharePoint mode report server is configured correctly and you can view the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Service Application properly. For more information, you can refer to the following document:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/47efa72e-1735-4387-8485-f8994fb08c8c
If the SharePoint mode report server works properly, however, the reports still cannot be deployed. Make sure the project is configured correctly for the deployment, especially the TargetServerURL option. For more information, please see:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb283155.aspx
If the report still cannot be deployed, make analyses on the error message. For example, if the error message is about sufficient permissions, you need to make sure the current user has permissions to deploy a report to the SharePoint site, or launch the
SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) as administrator.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

  • URL problems with SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 with wildcard SSL certificate

    Hi,
I have single server, domain member, with SQL Server 2012 SP1 Reporting Services.
I am trying to get work with url: https://reports.mydomain.com
I have valid wildcard certificate (*.mydomain.com) implemented and configured URLs in Configuration Manager.
    https://reports.mydomain.com/ReportServer - works fine
    https://reports.3pro.hr/Reports/ - I got error:
The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.
    In rsreportserver.config I have:
    <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="2"/>
When looking my ReportServerService_date.log file I have something like:
configmanager!DefaultDomain!3f4c!03/10/2013-20:24:34:: i INFO: Using report server internal url https://localhost:443/ReportServer.
configmanager!DefaultDomain!3f4c!03/10/2013-20:24:34:: i INFO: Using report server external url https://serverhostname:443/ReportServer.
    configmanager!DefaultDomain!3f4c!03/10/2013-20:24:34:: i INFO: Using url root https://reports.mydomain.com/ReportServer.
configmanager!DefaultDomain!3f4c!03/10/2013-20:24:34:: i INFO: Using report server internal url https://localhost:443/ReportServer.

    configmanager!DefaultDomain!3f4c!03/10/2013-20:24:34:: i INFO: Using url root https://reports.mydomain.com/ReportServer.
Also, error shown in log file:
appdomainmanager!ReportManager_0-2!4c50!03/10/2013-20:24:53:: e ERROR: Remote certificate error RemoteCertificateNameMismatch encountered for url https://localhost/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx.

The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.
Btw, is there a way to delete/disable access using https://localhost and/or servername (not FQDN) since SSL will not work in this way for me, and I want access only by full url - https://reports.mydomain.com , not localhost ..
    -- Hrvoje Kusulja

I spent one of my 4 free support incidents with Microsoft (part of MSDN subscription) this year to get this investigated.  The tech support person helped me through several issues but had to leave to attend some training, and I got past the last hurdle
before she called me back.  Here are the steps that resolved this issue for me.  I know for sure that step 5 was necessary.  Step 1 may not apply to you, and steps 2-4 may or may not have been necessary (they didn't immediately fix the issue,
but I didn't roll them back either so they may have been necessary.)
    Step 1:
Ensure you are editing the correct rsreportserver.config file.  I had been making changes to a file that was installed in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\14\WebServices\Reporting, but that was a rsreportserver.config
file for some sharepoint integration that I'm not using.  The correct path on my system was E:\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config, but yours may vary. If you can't figure it out, look in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft
SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Setup in the key named SQLPath, and then go to the ReportServer subdirectory of that path.
    Step 2:
In rsreportserver.config, ensure that SecureConnectionLevel is set to the value 3.  Was set to 0 in my configuration.  Corrected line in your rsreportserver.confiog file should look like:
    <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="3"/>
    Step 3:
In rsreportserver.config, add the correct value to the <URLRoot> element (which already exists in the file.)  In my configuration, this value was blank.  The value should be the fully qualified path to your report server, with a hostname that
is valid for your certificate.  For example, if my cert matches *.mydomain.local:
    <UrlRoot>
    https://myserver.mydomain.local/ReportServer
    </UrlRoot>
    Step 4:
Ensure that your certificate exists in Trusted Root Certification Authorities in certmgr for the local machine.  I had the certificate installed as a Personal certificate for the local machine, which I still think was correct (the certificate wasn't actually
the problem and worked correctly for Report Server, and the failure was caused by SSRS incorrectly making a https request to a localhost URL), but she had me remove the certificate from Personal and add it to Trusted Root Certificate Authorities.  That
broke things and the cert was no longer listed as a cert I could bind to, so we then copied it so it existed in both Personal and Trusted Root Certificate Authorities.  This is how I left it, not sure if that was necessary.
    Step 5:
This was the fix that finally got things to work. In rsreportserver.config, add the same value to the <ReportServerUrl> element (which also already exists in the file) that you added in step 3.  In my configuration, this value was also blank.
The corrected value should be the same as in step 3, for example:
    <ReportServerUrl>
    https://myserver.mydomain.local/ReportServer
    </ReportServerUrl>
Then restart your report server (stop & then start in Report Server Configuration Manager), and the problem should go away.  At least it did for me.
    Good luck!

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Reporting services installation error - data reader account

I have successfully installed SCOM 2012 R2 and SQL 2012 SP1 on the same server. I was trying to install the reporting server piece of SCOM.
When I get to the part that asks for a domain account, I get this error:
"Data Reader account provided is not same as that in the management server"
The account is not the same as the management server, and it does have read access to the data warehouse and reporting databases. Is there some other permission this account needs for reporting services?
    Thanks.

  • How configure reporting services configuration with sql server business development studio

I have installed sql server 2008 r2 mixed mode(sql server authentication) with native mode
I want to run report using reporting  services config manager.
I made report in ssrs and I have configured reporting services configuration and  web url from RSCM( reporting  services config manager), i put on ssrs report.
report is build and deployed but when i take deployed url on Internet explorer, it shows the window below:
when I put the password nothing happened . if I put url in google chrome then it shows authentication required window like the same in IE
if I passed username=(levent/sa) and password then goes on window but does not see on page,  if I passed only administrator name (levent) not passed sql server login name (sa) then does not close 'Authentication window'
    'Computer connect net with modem'
before i tried on earlier PC, it worked fine.
setting is below link like this.
only set service Account is Use_built=NetworkSrvice

    http://www.azurecurve.co.uk/2012/02/how-to-configure-sql-server-reporting-services-in-order-to-deploy-reporting-services-reports-in-gp/
    what is the problem
    Plz give suggestion quickly

    Hi tusharshinde,
Per my understanding that when you log in the report Manager you got the pop-up window ask for credential, you try to enter  the SA account and the window account as the username and password but both not work, right?
Your issue related to the authentication. As you mentioned you have choose the ”Network Service” as the Service account, generally using this account in RSCM and RSWindowsNegotiate is added to the RSReportServer.config file as the default setting. With this
setting, the report server can accept requests from client applications requesting Kerberos or NTLM authentication. If Kerberos is requested and the authentication fails, the report server switches to NTLM authentication and prompts the user for credentials
unless the network is configured to manage authentication transparently.
The issue can be caused by many factors and please check one by one.
Did you enter the username and password for three times and got blank page or got some error? If you got some error, please provide the error information.
you can delete the specific Authorization Types inside rsreportserver.config  file, open path:” \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config”.
Search the file for the “AuthenticationTypes” section. Remove RSWindowsNegotiate and RSWindoeBasic to ensure only “RSWindowsNTLM” is specified in the file rsreportserver.config file.
Before do any modification, back up the files and remember to restart the ReportServer instance in the RSCM after the modification.
If step1 doesn’t work ,please also do the trusted Site Setting in the Browser, article with details steps for your reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630430.aspx
Please check the Report Manager's authentication mode.Have a look in the Report Manager's web.config file to check if you can find below information under the <system.web> (Path is “C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting
    Services\ReportManager\Web.config ” ).
    authentication mode="Windows"
    identity impersonate="True"

Please tried to provide us more details information, if the problem still exists:
Did you login in the report manager locally or remotely via Browser and which URL you are using to login the Report manager?
Did you modified some configuration file before and what did you modified?
Did your windows account have the right permission to access the report manager?

  • Reporting Services Configuration with CRM 2011

    Hello,
I have successfully configured SharePoint 2010 and CRM 2011 in a DEV environment to use CRM 2011 reports in a SharePoint 2010 library.  However, in production, this is not working due to the following:
When I try to run a CRM 2011 report in the SharePoint 2010 library, I see this error:
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot create a connection to data source 'EMCFCRM2011'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors
Also, the data source Test Connection returns this error:
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON
The SharePoint Integrated Report Server is on the SharePoint VM, and has account credentials (in the SharePoint configuration) that has access to the CRM 2011 databases (organization and MSCRM and ReportServer databases)
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
It looks like Reporting Services is trying to connect to SQL Server using Windows Authentication. When you try this from anywhere other then the RS server, this will require Account Delegation in order for the SQL Server to trust the windows account credentials
which the RS server is passing on to it. This is often problematic to set up as it requires (from memory) kerberos authentication, several settings on the server Active Directory accounts (for both the server accounts and the user account), and is not usable
if your users and servers are in different AD forests.
Probably the easiest solution for you would be to create a SQL login on the SQL Server, and then use RSConfig.exe on the RS Server to tell Reporting Services to always use the new SQL login, instead of Windows Authentication.

  • FIM Reporting Services Installation Failed

    Hi,
I am trying to install FIM Reporting Service in our environment. I have followed the technet guide for doing so.
But my installation is encountering problems and it  fails and rolls back.
After some troubleshooting , i found that the installation fails because of intermittent connection between scsm console in FIM Service server and SCSM server.
Whenever the installation fails , the connection also fails between scsm console in FIM Service server and SCSM server and i am also not able to telnet  port 5724 at that time.
But after some secs again the connection happens successfully and i am able to telnet.I have checked with network team in this regard.they have confirmed no issues in the network.
Please could anybody suggest any thing on this regard.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also the Account name and password have to be entered below for mappings:
Data Warehouse Action Account - is for the Data writer account.
Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account - is for the Data reader account
The one which is blacked out in the screenshot will be the main SCOM Action account.
So re enter the passwords carefully and accordingly and check and let me know.

It works fine (in the preview). However, when I export my file that doesn't work anymore. The parameters'dropdown list aren't populated and when I click on the RS button, nothing appear... Did I miss something (export parameters)??? Is it because of the trial version ??

  • Load balancing Reports Services 10g with WebCache?

    Hi Guys
Does anybody have any good ideas on how to load balance Oracle Reports Services?
Can I do it with WebCache as with Forms Services?
    /Jacob :)

My java application resides in a different server (weblogic) from the Oracle Application server (which has the report server). I do a browser redirect from my java application to a URL of OAS . I have hard coded Oracle Application server and report server name in one of my config files in my java weblogic server
In the above URL, servername:7770 is the Oracle Application Server. I would not have a problem with this since this will be the name of the cluster.
But the problem is server=<report server> . The report server which will pickup my request will be identified only after the browser has redirected to the URL. SO I cannot hard code it in my ajava application.
Can I just remove server=<report server name> when generating URL from my java application when I need to run report server in a clustered load balancing environment?
Sorry if my earlier post was confusing
