Reporting solution

Hello all!
I am newbie in this field and i have complex question to the experienced guys.
I need to implement own reporting solution for my software.
requirements:
- simple reports (counting items per period) on daily/weekly/monthly basis
- output: probably html table, because it is easy to publish on webpage or sent by email
- automatic reporting solution
- independent from DB type (oracle/mysql)...is it possible to do it somehow independent??
which technologies can be successfully used for such project? (stored procedures? plsql? shell script? perl? php scripting?)
any opinions are appreciated

There are quite a few.. OBIEE is good enough with way too many features. Scalable as well..
If you would like to develop your own, APEX has enough capability to address your needs.

BOBJ Reporting Solution Options

Hi Experts,
I need expert advise on the following questions.
1. What are the tools available in BOBJ to create reports out of NON-SAP datawarehouse build on SQL Server?
2. What tools/methodolgy can be used to create reports out of SAP BW and Non-SAP data using BOBJ?
3. Is building a universe the only way to create a report out of Non-SAP data? if no, what are the other options?

BOBJ consists of following tools to create reports
Desktop Intelligence (DeskI)
WebI
WebI Rich Client
Crystal Reports -
All above tools can be used to create reports from SAP and non-SAP data. Depending on your need, you can choose the tool.
DeskI can be used to create reports from Universes, free hand SQL, personal data files
WebI can be used to create reports from universe (only)
webi rich client is same webI but it is adesktop version. it is available from XI 3 onwards. they introduced personal data files as source.
Crystal reports can be created from Business View, Universe, personal data files, sql, etc.
Designer - to create Universe
Business View Manager - to create Business View
universe is a metadata create on the data structure. it can be either sap data or non-sap data.

This presentation will showcase different options for OBIEE-based Analytical Reporting such as:
1) Oracle BI Applications for supported Oracle E-Business Suite Modules and other Oracle Applications.
It will include real world experiences for implementing BI Apps Version 7.9.6
2) Custom OBIEE Development against E-Business Suite (when no BI apps are available)
3) Migration of Discoverer EUL to OBIEE RPD using Migration Utility
While OBIEE and BI Apps are clearly the strategic analytics reporting direction from Oracle, only certain Analytics applications are available. Sometimes all customer needs for BI reporting may not be met by these pre-built analytics. For instance, JD Edwards has pre-built ETL connectors only for Financial Analytics. While more BI Apps and ETL connectors are in the pipeline, how can users meet their reporting needs today as they go live in near future? In this session, we will look at several short and medium term solutions without deviating from the long term strategic goal of using pre-built BI applications to reduce the overall risk.
Several real life situations will be evaluated with demonstration of the steps involved such as how to Migrate Discoverer reports to OBIEE with the highest degree of automation. Likewise, we will cover how DBI views be used for custom OBIEE reporting.

Actuate reporting solutions

We have developed a module that integrates Forte with Actuate. We were very
impressed with Actuate's reporting capability, but our clients had a couple of
concerns with it: 1) they didn't like the per-user fee Actuate charges for the
report scheduler, 2) they wanted to use the same interface to input parameters
that they use in their normal application windows (with drop-down lists,
multi-selection list, validations, short cut keys, etc.).
What we did was to create a front-end window in Forte that dynamically builds
parameter screens for inputting report parameters. These windows vary
depending upon the reports' needs. After entering these parameters, the user
can run the report from Forte.
Shortly we will add the ability for the users to parse their reports, by
customer, and automatically fax them. When R3 is released, we will further
integrate the two tools.
I myself have not used Actuate, but if you are still interested, and I can
refer you to our Actuate/Forte experts.

Is there anybody who use Actuate Reporting System integrated with Forte'?
We would like to know if it is possible to design and produce reports
directly from Forte' Application without making a new query on DBMS (from
Actuate Developer Workbench).
By the way we are also looking to have a multiplatform reporting system
(using also Unix Client machines). We read about Actuate Report Server. Do

have to use Actuate Report Server together with Actuate Developer Workbench

The FormattedDataSet is not a total reporting solution, but it does a good job of displaying tabular data such as you would see in a listbox, html table, xml, or csv. It is flexible, fast and easy to use. You crreate your own templates which do a good job of separating formatting from presentation. This allows for both reuse of the data and formatting

Crystal reports solution

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out which products I need and where should I install them to implement Crystal reports for SSM 10.
Server A: NetWeaver 7.3 AS JAVA
Server B: SSM 10 AS
What should I get to implement the simplest solution?
I read that I can either Use the Strategy Management ODBO Provider or Use Query As A Web Service (QaaWS) to create connection between crystal reports and SSM. As I understand I need SAP BussinessObjects 4.0 for both of them. Am I right? If yes, could you please provide me with information, which is the correct release and edition for the simplest solution? I'm kind of lost.

I installed Crystal Reports 2011 and followed the guide SBOP Strategy Management Configuration Help (registered SSM dll's, edited the registry).
When creating OLAP Cube report's connection I'm getting an error, see picture below:

As you can see in picture I'm getting an error on local cube file, but it's the same for SSM OLAP server, so it must be windows configuration problem. Any clue what is the problem?

Modify Run Report Solution

After I read some messages already posted discussing the run_report issue, I changed the old solution to a new one, through which I execute tho following steps:
1_ at run command prompt I excute the following one: rwserver - install server = rep_server
2_ I open the cgicmd.dat file and at the end if this file I added the following row:
rep_key: userid=meteo/meteo@dbrc[email][email] server=rep_ncragra-as %* %P
3_ i have developped a reprot
called "Res_R1_SaleOrdersPerCust.rdf" using report9i
builder and i compiled, saved it with an extention ".rdf " without error.
4_ i write a PLSQL trigger at button level called(INVOICEPUSH) through which i call the report as follow:

HT4977 The reported solution does not work (add two carriage returns).

When setting up my gmail account as an exchange accounts message which are only signed, are not validly signed. There is an smile.p7s attachment which isn't recognised as a valid signature.
Some users report this is caused by a bad implementation of the Active Sync protocol in iOS, which isn't using the approptiate commands.
Does anybody have a workaround?

I need to add verification for field dock door of tcode LM05 using user exit MWMRF302.
I have created 9302 screen in program SAPLXLRF and deleted ok_code from it, changed it to sub-screen.
Then i have created a new entry in the spro (screen management) with screen variant 1.
But i am unable to understand what code i need to write in EXIT_SAPLLMOB_520 so that verification of that particular field will take place.
Also, do i need to code both EXIT_SAPLLMOB_210 and EXIT_SAPLLMOB_520?
Can you please help me with this.

Reporting solution for a very long report

Hi All,
We have requirement to print a very long report ( about 150.000 pages folio size, something like account statement ). Database server is in remote location, connected to report's client via 64 kbps VPN.
What is the best solution for such requirement ?
Some thoughts are :
- using Crystal Report / Oracle Report , display the report on browser and print it
- Query the data from client side, save the data locally and create report from it
or is there any best solution for this ?

Create an output file on the location where the database is located, zip it, and transfer it to the client. 150000 pages is an awful lot, but usually mostly spaces.

WEBI & Crystal Report solution approach for BPC

Hi all,
Anyone know the solution approach for Web Intelligence and Crystal Report for BPC? I canu2019t seem to find any information with regards to developing these two types of reports directly from BPC. Iu2019ve got a document from SAP which mentions that although BPC is sitting on a BW platform and it has its own InfoProviders, SAP is not recommending to use these as the source.
The approach for Business Objects Xcelsius is fine as I managed to find it.
Really appreciate on any help that you can provide.

I have a requirement (Reports 6i C/S) to print out a number of word documents (stored as BLOBS in a table) and the associated notes data. Here is the table structure

SQL>Now I can produce a simple report to preview / print the DATE_ENTERED, ENTERED_BY, and NOTES fields and I have developed code to print the BLOB documents in the background using OLE but once the Word docs are printed out there is no way to link them up to the corresponding notes.
Therefore the next most obvious solution (to me anyway) is to print out a single notes record followed by the corresponding word doc, followed by the next notes record and so on and so forth. Then at least they should come out on the printer in the correct order.
It doesn't sound particularly elegant so I was wondering if anyone had a better idea?

I guess no-one has any suggestions then?

Deliveries not invoiced (GR-based IV) reporting solution

i have been looking for a while in SAP for a report that shows me the Goods receipts not invoiced.
We are using goods receipt based invoice verification
I know about the function of MB5S but this report is not showing me in the overview the actual deliveries not invoiced.
As we are using scheduling agreements and we have hundreds of GR per one purchsing document.
When I doubleclick in MB5S on the PO/Schedule i get info about the GR / IR but i can not really subtotal since the
Invoices do not have a negative impact.
Also i think ME2N, ME2L, ME2L are not showinng me the single deliveries not invoiced
I just can not belive that the only reliable source is table EKBE where a programm/little more complex query has to be written to access and subtotal
Did anybody have the same problem and came to a conclusion?
SAP must have tons of requests for this but I can not find any solution in OSS.

thanks for the awnser F4 is helping for entering the invoice for one single vendor when you have some info
about the delivery note.
With some filters back and fourth i can see only the open qty.
But on monthend you want to display over all vendors the open deliveries as with MB5S, which F4 on MIRO (RM08RL80) can not provide me.

On Payment_dt->Filter->Advanced->Convert this filter to SQL
Payment_dt=max(Payment_dt by USERID)
