Hi I would like to report my itouch stolen and iPad how do I do this please

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

My iTouch was stolen, I filed a police report and have the serial number. A friend told me that if I called 1-800-my apple they could locate it for me, she said it was how she found her stolen ipod. I called and they said they could when I got the police file case # (at the time I hadnt filed a report) Looking online today though most people say apple will do nothing, and that its not true. Is it? If its not is there anything at all I can possibly do. They have access to my emails and my everything. They tried to buy things on my account but apple shut it down after they failed the password so many times.

I could be wrong but I think they can only do this if you subscribed to the service called "Mobile Me".

Outside of that - I do not think they can find it for you.
I looked into the Mobile Me service and at this time I did not find it worth it. Its $99 a year. Other than the finding service it offers - all the other stuff it offers is not something I would be interested in. So for me - it would be $99 a year for the ability to find my lost/stolen iTouch. Two years of that and you can just buy a new one. I just don't see the value. They would need to offer this service for around $25 for to to buy.
Maybe they should sell tiers of Mobile Me. $25 gets you the lost/stolen service, $50 gets you that plus back up. $99 gets the full thing.
Anyway - sorry to rant. But I don't think the ycan help you unless you bought Mobile Me.

Stolen iTouch 2G

Just curious. I recently had my 16 GB iTouch 2G stolen. I did not have any security enabled on the device, although it was engraved on the back and I have the serial number and the MAC address for the device. Seems that the MAC address would be a unique identifier, although not necessarily readily available over the network.
Was wondering if Apple has a way to track devices with that information or a method to otherwise disable the device? I already reported it stolen to "Apple" and to the local police. Not too optimistic about getting it back, but seems like there should be a way to find it given the high tech world that we live in.

Ok so from what I've read Apple has no way to track stolen devices nor can they help you. I contacted Apple today petaining to my stolen Itouch and told them that it was registered through Itunes. I couldn't find anything pertaining to ipods registered through my account and when they put me on hold while they talked with their supervisor and the representative notified me that they couldn't give me the serial number of the ipods registered to me (it is private information). Now Apple has an outside company listed on their website which mentions that they can track your Ipod, Itouch, etc., it will lock up the device and instruct the person to return it to the rightful owner and supposedly it can help you track the device. But of course I don't have the serial number to initate this. To end off I asked the rep if there was anything else he can suggest and he said that he could give me information to the nearest Apple store, to buy a new one, I really wanted to cuss him out at this point. I am not impressed with the lack of support and the sheer disrespect with that suggestion alone! Yes Apple is out to make more money.

For a stolen Macbook to appear in iCloud - the person who stole it must turn it on.
You can't track something that's turned off.

Call the police to report a stolen device. There is no way to track them aside from Find My Phone.

How can I find out WHEN a specific iPhone was reported stolen?

I bought a storage unit at auction. There was a brand new iphone 4S, among other items, in the locker. Many had receipts with the owner's name so I know it wasn't a storage unit full of stolen merchandise. I ran a check of the iphone through a website, imei.info, and it seemed to come up clean (Verizon locked). The Ebay buyer backed out of the auction and now, days later, is claiming the phone is stolen. I'm thinking the buyer for some unknown reason, is the one who reported it stolen, just recently, and is trying to scam me. When I called Verizon, they confirmed that this phone was either lost or stolen but could not tell me when it was reported.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN FIND OUT THE DATE THE PHONE WAS REPORTED STOLEN, AND POSSIBLY WHO REPORTED IT STOLEN?

Buyer fraud has become a problem on eBay.
I ran a check of the iphone through a website, imei.info, and it seemed to come up clean (Verizon locked).
It probably would have been better to contact Verizon directly, but if you kept records of that research, use it to dispute the buyer's subsequent claim. Unfortunately, eBay buyers hold all the cards these days, and eBay's robots will simply order you to accept a return or face suspension of your account and seizure of your PayPal assets.
To dispute a SNAD may require that you obtain a court order to subpoena Verizon's record of the theft, which will entail an expense that will almost certainly exceed absorbing the loss.
Ebay is a buyer's paradise. For sellers, not so much.

I can only think of two possible solutions for your problem here you can alert the police (although you probably have) or you can track it using the free app Find My iPhone although I think you may of had to register it on the ipod.

Recovering MAC address of a stolen iTouch

Not that I'm holding my breath, but is there a way to get the MAC address of a stolen iTouch? It's got to be stored by iTunes somehow... And, assuming I find the MAC address, is there any way to locate the iTouch?

1) If a thief is caught and they haave an ipod, they will check to see if the serial number is reported stolen ( to the police - not APPLE). You should report therft ot the police not the make of each iten that is stolen.
2) You think we should have to have anual inpections for out ipods/iphones? Really?
None of this is done through Ford, Checy or any other car maker.
Unless you are advocating licensing and registering your iphone with the govenrment, then you are not comparing like issues at all.

I have had my ipad stolen and I thought I had set up find my ipad... apparently its not as i went on my login and it was not coming up.
I want to know how to block or lock my ipad without having find my ipad? Also, its a wifi only one so not sure if it would have been much use anyway...

Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

Ipad reported stolen after I bought it. Can I activate cellular?

I bought my used iPad mini (Sprint/wifi) 11/15/13 from a store in Florida while on vacation. It had the box and accessories, and the numbers checked out clean. It was kind of an impulse purchase at my family's urging, but I grew to love my first Apple product and use it all the time on wifi. I just decided to activate the cellular instead of hot spotting from my phone, but when I tried I found It was reported stolen! I assume it was sold against the user's wishes, like maybe a parent selling their kid's ipad, or couple breaking up, and the user reported it stolen. It's highly unlikely a thief was able to get possession of the original box and accessories. I phoned the store and they aren't willing to do anything since it was not reported stolen when they sold it to me.
Is there any way I can get the iPad cleared to activate cellular? Would a non-paid Sprint bill cause this issue? Can I prove to Sprint or Apple that I purchased it legitimately when it was still clean?

Steve... - I'm not sure how to respond to you. I never would intentionally purchase a stolen item, and I did my homework before buying this item which showed to be not stolen. I did not buy a stolen item. The store did not purchase a stolen item from the seller. The transaction happened over a year ago, and for all I know it could have been reported stolen last week. They could be pulling an insurance scam, a kid could be claiming it was stolen to make a few bucks and get mom & dad to buy a different gadget, or maybe someone's just being vindictive after having seller's remorse. Maybe they reported it stolen to Sprint only, for an entirely different reason that I don't know. I don't think the store is responsible to do anything since they verified the item was not stolen, registered it on the state database and held it for 30 days before sale as required by state law. The iPad was then on the sales floor for an additional two weeks before I purchased it. The previous owner had plenty of time to report it to the Police, but they didn't. The Police would have gone right to the store, and they could have contacted me immediately since they recorded my driver's licence information in the computer for the sale and have my credit card number. For all these reasons I do not accept the argument that it was actually stolen. I personally don't believe that purchasing new items at full retail price is a smart financial decision in most cases (sorry Apple) so I will not be taking your advice to buy direct.

My iPad Mini had been reported stolen and is now locked with a passcode. I didn't report it nor is it stolen. I live no where near a Apple store and have no means of getting to one, is there anything I can do?

How do you know that it has been reported stolen?
If someone used "Find my iPhone" to lock your iPad mini then they must know your Apple ID and password. This sounds a bit like an inside job/joke. If not, you should immediately change your password.
If you cannot find the passcode then:
You will need to restore your iPad from the same computer that you most recently synced to.
