Reporting: Txt Message Phishing Accounts / Scam ac...
I don't know why on earth it's so hard to report suspected phishers/scammers (without credits on my account anymore I can no longer contact customer service).
Anyway.
Some accounts are linked to some scam that sends SMS messages to people's phones, and has been associating individuals' names with their real phone numbers. The SMS messages ask the individuals to contact them on one of the following skype names.

I'm not sure what happens if someone actually messages one of these accounts on Skype.
I got a similar text message yesterday:
"Hello <my name>! This is Jenny. Please add me on Skyype msgr so we can chat a bit, its: Bam_25"
The phone number listed as the source was 313-499-9157 though I assume that can be spoofed. I googled Bam_25 and came across this post.
While this doesn't necessarily indicate that my name and phone number was obtained via Skype, clearly this Bam_25 character (or someone that doesn't like him/her) is up to no good.

Settings > Messages > Receive At...
Any iPhone that lists the same email will receive the same texts. This has to be changed in order to stop receiving on all devices. -
After getting a txt message from bell today saying I went over on my data usage , I can not access my web browsing at all... There is no restrictions on my account. But I still can't load safari... I can still makes calls and send txt messages but I can't send iMessages

I change phones and i am not getting regular txt messages because somehow the messages are still sending through imessage which i no longer have.... I deleted my phone number from the account though as per instructiions from the phone carrier and is still not working...Any help?

It sounds like you are no longer getting text messages becuase your Apple ID is still using your phone number for iMessage. I would use these steps to unlink your phone number from your account:
Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

Cannot send txt messages from my iPhone to a android galaxy gear 3
My husband switched from an iPhone to a galaxy note three and kept his old cell number. Now he cannot receive texts from any other iPhones including mine.
Research on Internet indicates this is common issue when an iPhone user switches to an android device and keeps old number from iPhone! Problem does not happen with new android devices .any workable solution known? So far suggestions in forums have not helped. APPLE store personnel uninformed reissue,as well as Best Buy personnel.Looks to me like the question has indeed been asked 500 times or more...but still looks to me like many still have unresolved solutions if they have more than one Apple device. I've been attempting to follow advice giving in forum conversations...still, no luck. I had turned off imessage on old IPHONE before, then unregistered my old iphone, but still can not get txt messages from any of my friends who have an iphone...not one. I do have several other Apple devices..an IMAC, an MAC BOOK PRO, an IPAD 2 and an IPAD3 still on my same Apple Account that my old phone was on. Is this now the problem

Curve 3G keeps deleting my txt messages..

I have Curve 9300 3G, running on OS 6 (6.0.0.600, platform 6.6.0.223)
The device is automatically deleting my messages after few feeks, starting from the oldest (they last about 1 month than they are deleted..)
I have tried to look for an option of "how long to save messages" in the device and couldn't find any.... In the device manual it says and in the device Help\Search it sais the same:
home->messages->options-> Message Display and Actions , but this sub-category option doesn't appear on my device messages options (i googled it and also ppl said they can't find this option on their curve 3G...)
i have in option of messages this sub-categories:
General Text Messaging options, SMS Text, MMS and in none of them there is an option regarding how long to keep txt messages...
* Memory Cleaning is disabled
** Also in some searches in google ppl said free some memory. it is not the problem.. i have 70 MB free on the device and 7GB free in my memory card.. my BB is new.. only 2 month old
so where can i set the device settings regarding saving my messages?

i have found out why i don't see this menu: Message Display and Actions, there is a bug in the OS 6 with my BB or just with curve 3G i don't know.. other people reportet my problem as well
when i go to options of messages it don't get this submenues:
Message Display and Actions
Inbox Management
Email account Managment
Spell Check
Text Messaging
after going to options of messages it goes straight to Text Messaging... and doesn't show thouse 5 sub-menues
and because of this bug i can't even find "Message Display and Actions" in the general search of the device..
the solution :
go to the call logs, then select one of the call logs and press on home button and select options
then u see the 5 sub-categories\menues with Message Display and Actions among them, go inside and there u can select the option of how long to keep messages
took me some time of playing with the device to find this crappy bug and find another way to get this Message Display and Actions..

I saw I had almost 30,000 txt messages on a Gmail account that I had created a gmail account for on Thunderbird. I didn't realize that they were going here from Gmail. I highlighted all of them and attempted to delete them. The spinning circle finally went away and all of them were gone. But when I tried to do anything else on Thunderbird with my regular email accounts (Comcast & Hotmail), I would get a spinning circle and Thunderbird is not responding. I had to use Ctrl Alt Del and then reopen. I tried compacting but this morning when I tried to write an email from one of my Comcast emails in Thunderbird, again I got the spinning circle and Thunderbird is not responding. In order to do anything, I have to close the program by hitting Crrl Alt Del and try again.
My Trash Local folders says 8300.
This morning, when I tried accessing Thunderbird at the bottom of the taskbar it said, "downloading....of 17,000 to All Mail. Had no clue what that meant. I let it continue until all were and thought my issue would be resolved. But no. :(
Something obviously got corrupted in the program. What do I need to do to fix this?

Hi Chris thanks for the reply , my iMessage was working until I listened to voda domes instructions to do a network reset now it's says waiting for activation , I have reset the phone I have a SIM card change as Vodafone thought my SIM card was faulty and took the phone back to the shop and changed it for a new one , I've been on many forum sites and a lot of people are having the same problem as I can send a txt message bit can't receive them Andy account is set up correctly on vodafones side ... I am we'll and truly lost for ideas on what to do .

Unlink another phone from Message/iCloud account?
Somehow my wife's iPhone has become linked to my iCloud account. I've signed her out on her phone and unlinked her phone in iCloud and Message preferences however every txt she receives comes to my phone and every time I try to txt her, the message comes to my own phone, and not to hers. The txt messages are coloured blue not green suggesting that somewhere our phones/accounts are still linked
I'd check on your and your wife's phone settings>messages>send and receive. (make sure the email addess & phone number are not the same as yours)
You can have multiple phones on the same account as and this won't be a problem as long as the same address are not checked. You can also add email address to your account so that imessage can go to different phone numbers and be associated with unique email address. To do this add alternate emails to your apple ID. -
Action failed after start Crystal report add-on then Account Setup

We got an error message on a work station when start Crystal report add-on >> Go Account Setup >> type in sa password >> Action failed
Then I tried on the server. It used to work before. I type in the same password, the error message said 'login failed...'
The password is correct. I can login by using management studio.
Then I changed the password of sa user in management studio. On the server, after I changed password in Account Setup, it works. But on the workstation, I still have the same error message Action failed.
They are on SAP2007A PL06HF01, SQL2008, the OS of the workstation is Windows Vista business

Also be aware that CR 2008 supports MS SQL Server 2008 with Fix Pack 2.3 installed. MS also only supports MS SQL Server with their new Client. Go to the install CD for SQL Server and instlal the client Tools which installs a new driver.
Need to know what version of CR you are using?

TS2755 getting sons txt messages
I share an apple ID with my son. I most recently updated my phone and ipad to the newest version. I am not getting his txt messages on my ipad. How can I fix this and can it be done without creating a new apple id. Thanks
Why do you need to keep the same Apple ID? I suspect it is because you want to share apps without purchasing them again?
If so, the Apple ID and iTunes account are two separate things.
Read this to see how to use multiple devices with a single iTunes account. Set up the devices using one iTunes account but separate Apple IDs so you can each have your own iMessage and Game Center accounts. -
E75 reports (no messages) with Nokia Messaging Gma...
I signed up for an account a http://email.nokia.com, went through the processed, and received the installation message fine on my phone. The account appeared to have set up correctly. I entered my email, accessed the account, it asked me for my password, I entered it, and it connected without reporting an error. However, after connecting, the account reported (no messages) when there are actually several messages in my inbox all newer than 3 days. I can access the account fine if I set it up using the phone's built in software, but I would really like to utilize push email. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this issue?
Here's the deal. Like many of you, I have faced the exact same problems with Nokia Messaging on the E75. You can send emails but cannot receive them. The phone, the connection and the synchronization seems all fine with the green ring attempting to fetch from nokia servers but resulting in zero emails.
Well, I have more or less narrowed down the cause of the problem if by chance you have not noticed it is none other then - NOKIA MESSAGING!!!!
When ever you sign-up for a new account it is set up in one of many Nokia servers. Mine is "netac12.vie.hosting.nokia.com" you can find the server info on your phone. It could be that these new servers are not configured properly to work with some of our phones in particular, the E75. Other possibilities may be that the integrated Nokia Messaging software in the phone may be having some problems in communicating with the nokia server. Which ever way you look it just comes down to software problems.
As of now, I don't believe Nokia has a solution but am sure they are aware of the situation. As much as Nokia may not acknowledge certain problems with its products or services but trust me they are aware... or maybe just giving a "blind eye" so to speak for the time being..
One may ask how sure I am if it is not the hardware of the phone or my WiFi/GPRS connection that is at fault and with that, I ask of you to try the following experiment.
Download emoze (www.emoze.com) on to your phone to be 100% sure that your phone and connection is in good working order. It is a freeware Push eMail service with certain limitations of course. You may choose to remove it completely, if you don't like it but for the benefit of the test and also that it is FREE just bare with its dry interface.
After when you have installed emoze onto your phone you will realize.. SUDDENLY.. you are able to send and receive YES, RECEIVE emails almost instantaneously! To be sure that Nokia Messaging is indeed running foul I let both emoze and Nokia Messaging run on my phone in the background and send myself an email via my PC. Emoze as clockwork, without fail, gets me the email within a minute - most of the time within 15 seconds. Whereas, Nokia Messaging, as I may add, is a very moody service. It will choose when to deliver if at all and when not to at its own BLOODY will !!!
Please excuse my language, just like many of you I am very disappointed and that to have call Nokia Care Line on several occasions and only to be told that no one else seems to be facing this problem and they make me go through the damn settings over-and-over again. If there is a fault, please rectify and not hide behind your virtual bush.
I sure hope, that Nokia will start taking ownership of its product issues and give us an update or some form of acknowledgement that it is looking into our concerns. Responsible companies will definitely demand a whole lot of customer respect. Take for example Microsoft. From time-to-time its software and products will run into venerability issues and Microsoft acknowledges these issues, customers concerns and releases a patch to fix the problem. Likewise, I hope Nokia will follow suit.
I have been a Nokia cell phone supporter for over 15 years. I am seriously, considering a swap to a BlackBerry once my contract expires with my service provider. Nokia please do your due diligence. -

Intermittent TXT Messaging Issue
Within the last 2 weeks I have been having an intermittent, but increasing txt messaging issue with people. It started by them recieving jumbled messages at fir and has now morphed into them not always getting my txt messages. I have cleared all the caches, restarted the device numerous times, change from messages to normal messages. Even turned on the delivery reports (which don't come back either) when sending if the message doesn't go through. I have been using the phone with no issue since it shipped and have only started having this issue with the last couple of weeks and as of last night a msg they sent me took 3 hrs. to arrive. Any help would be appreciated as it mainly affects the prson I txt most and is very annoying and unreliable. If I can't communicate with this person I may have to switch carriers.
It's important that your text messages are working properly, gurv07728. I appreciate the steps that you have taken on your own. Are you using the default text message application? If you send a message to yourself do you receive it right away?

I purchased a ringtone on My Verizon via my computer. They sent me txt message with the media but I can't figure out how to save it as a ringtone. The long touch method doesn't work. It's not anywhere in my media files, and frankly I just joined verizon but they have proven a bit difficult. On thin ice already, this isn't helping.
Have you managed to save it to your phone? If so, download a file explorer app (like Estrongs file explorer) from the Play Store. Open up the file explorer app and navigate to the "Download" folder. Scroll through your downloads to locate the ringtone file. Select it and use the file explorer's copy or cut function to put the ringtone file in the clipboard. Back out of the "download" folder to the "sdcard" level. Then look for a "ringtones" folder. Select it to open it and view the contents. Using the file explorer, paste the ringtone file to that folder. Back out of the file explorer app. The ringtone will now be available in the "phone ringtone" selection list.
