Reports 10g: Creating a graph in a repeating frame
I'm preparing a mortality report in which I want, for every diagnosis, a pie chart which displays a breakdown by gender or ethnicity for every diagnosis.
Is someone aware of example code which illustrates how to do this in Reports 10g?
Thanks in advance.

hello,
you would do this by using the graph wizard in your paper layout (assuming you are creating a paper layout). when doing the INSERT>GRAPH you then click inside the repeating frame you want to insert the graph into and go from there.
tip: you get the best results if you actually make room for the graph in the repeating frame, before you invoke it and then click-and-drag the exact size you want your graph, when you invoke the wizard, otherwise the wizard will try to fit the graph in your frame as good as possibe, with potentially rearranging the itmes already in there.
regards,
ph.

Repeating Frame with mutiple lines -- Page Break
I have a report with repeating frame R11. R11 has several fiels
spread across 4 lines.
We have a case in which there is a pagebrek, while this
repeating frame R11 is printed. Fields in the first line of R11
are printed in the first page. Then when it continues to print
the repeating frame in the next page, it is not printing the
fields in the second line of the repeating frame. In other
words, the second line is completely missing in the report.
However, fields in the third and forth lines of the repating
frame R11 are printed in the second page.
Why the second line is dropped?
How do I fix this problem?Create one summary column (lets say cs_pagenumber) in inner group and provide following:
Function: Count
Source: any field from innrer group
Reset At: outer group
Create one summary column (lets say cs_totalpages) in outer group and provide following:
Function: Count
Source: any field from innrer group
Reset At: outer group
(above will work if one field is printed only once in a form)
Create a field in inner repeating frame for cs_pagenumber and create a boilerplate text (&cs_totalpages) in the same repating frame for cs_totalpages. This should solve the problem.
Hope this helps. -
Page Numbering on repeating frame with 3 logical pages per physical page
We have a report in Reports 6i that prints a form on continous multi-part paper. We are converting the report to print to a laser printer with three forms per page. Each form has page numbers in the format of "page 1 of 15". The "page" refers to the form number and the "of" refers to the total number of forms for the outer group. So we could have page 1 of 15 through page 15 of 15 followed by page 1 of 112, etc.
I have tried all of the suggestions on how to base page numbers on a repeating frame and non of them seem to work. All the examples seem to be based on the idea that the logical page contains 1 or more physical pages; whereas my situation is that I have multiple logical pages on each physical page.
Does anyone have a thought on how to do this?Create one summary column (lets say cs_pagenumber) in inner group and provide following:
Function: Count
Source: any field from innrer group
Reset At: outer group

Hi,
I've Matri with group report which prints 'region' level data in Repeating frame (down).
But, for the Last region of the report, the report is prinitng twice the data. I observed this problem when I have more than one 'region' level data and then for the last region data in that.
( means, if there is only one region data, it's not priniting twice, rather priniting fine).
Please suggest anything on this..urgent a bit..
Thanks,
RatnakarHi,
Do one thing, place a group frame around repeating frame , sure it must be of size to occupy 3 or more reocrds generated by query. Below this group frame , place additional fields you want to appear below . Remember to keep vertical and horizontal elasticity fixed for this group frame.

Help to create complex graphs in oracle 10g reports
As my company has migrated from 6i to Oracle 10g, but as graph ogd files are obselete in Oracle 10g , I am trying to create new graphs in Oracle 10g.
But problem I am facing that I cannot give axis value 'LABEL' or define my own scale or draw any lines on chart or inshort plot graph as I need. Moreover no way to read objects on Chart. In forms 6i it was easy to read object with command "OG_GET_OBJECT(OBJECT_NAME)". Helps tell me to use graph.dtd but I am unable to use it or I don't know how to use it. No documentation available anywhere how to use graph.dtd syntax.
Is it possible to achieve my above goals or any other tools to customize charts.
PrashantHello FormsEleven,
First of all very Thanks for reply. Thanks for your valuable time given to me.
I don't have any error in my java/jinit console infact latest jinit is running and web browser start with message applet are being loaded and Oracle forms service installed successfully. All other forms details are very well displayed on browser form, only bean area remains empty. Following are my formsweb.cfg details. Note on below [bigraph] section I have commented some lines but that also done after my form did not work.

How to create multiple graphs ( more than 10 ) in report builder 10g
Hi All ,
I have a requirement to create approx 10 graph . I have created 4 graphs in paper layout 1st section ,while moving to 2nd section in paper layout for plotting the next graph ,its giving an error "REP-1212 : Object 'M_1' is not fully enclosed by its enclosing object Body " .
Please help me ,if you have any idea to create multiple graph .
Thanks
B. MohapatraThis is a layout error message. I don't think it has anything to do with multiple graphs.
Your object M_1 just gets too big:
Cause: An object is not fully enclosed by the page. That is, the object extends beyond the page boundary.
Action: Move or resize the object so that it does not extend outside the page boundary. Alternatively, increase the page size in the Report property palette. -
Migrating Graphs from Reports 6i to Reports 10g
While migrating Graphs from Reports 6i to Reports 10g is there a possibility of maintaining the same graphs rather than recompiling them using the Graph Wizard of Reports 10g. I have hundreds of reports with graphs and will be an uphill task to re-draft all the graphs. Kindly suggest alternatives to overcome this dead-lock.
Thanx in advance
SridharHello Sridhar,
10g is not supporting Graphics builder. So you got to create/insert all these 6i graphs in 10g. Open the 6i report and compile in 10g. It will give you file not found error. Delete the graph area in the layout editor.
Then drag the chart icon and drop in layout. Redesign again. Offcourse it is not fun. But there is no way.
Also there are tons of bugs in 10g report Graphs. You won't find some cool features like Others % option in the pie slice provided by Graphics bulider. You got to change graph.xml file for some of the features. Even the graphs looks ugly in 10g. Migrating graph reports is really frustrating in 10g. But we have no choice. Recently we migrated to 10g. Becareful with matrix reports. 10g keeps on getting crashed when ever we develop matrix report. GOD knows the reason.
But 10g has some very very good features like Distribution
Cheers.

Hi!
I'm working with Reports Builder 10g and I have a problem with alignment of a graph.
This graph (G1) is contained in a repeating frame (R1) and the repeating frame is in a simple frame (M1).
In the XML I set 'autoLayout' to 'AL_NEVER' and I resize the graph moving the borders in the layout editor to align it to the left border of the page.
However, when I run report, the graph isn't aligned to the left margin, and it appears in the centre of R1 and it don't fit R1 exacltly: there are some space between the margins of R1 and the graph G1.
Can, you help me!
Please, I'm very hungry because I spend too much time to resolve the problem but I didn't find a solution.
Thanks in advance.
Bye.Hi Leonardo,
The attribute autoLayout=AL_NEVER does not have any effect on the size of the graph object. The graph object consists of different areas, eg, plot area, legend area, background, etc. By setting autoLayout=AL_NEVER, you can specify the exact placement of legend area, plot area, etc inside the graph object. But the size of the graph object remains un-affected. You can change the size of the graph object only by dragging its boundaries in the paper layout.
I tried with Reports Builder 10g, and could not reproduce your problem. Remember that there will always be whitespace between the plot area (the area where you see bars, lines etc) and the graph object boundary. I hope that you are not referring to this whitespace as gap.
In order to see the graph object boundaries completely, you can add the following to your graph XML
<Background fillColor="0000CC" />

RadeHi,
Not directly. You have to edit graph.xml file (in property pane of your graph). Some details about this file you can get from How to... topics on Products page

Page Break Before & Repeating Frame (Reports 10G - Windows)
Hi to all,
I have to give page break when a condition met in a tabular report.Like it s advised I tried some layout objects with page break before property true and wrote their return code true if this criteria occurs. But whatever I tried, I couldnt get my desired output. It gives page break but repeats a blank repeating frame in the next page but only with that object I added later with page break property. Anybody have an idea ?
Thanks...Hi,
sounds like there's no child object for your object with page break before. This property has only impact of the object itself and all it's child objects. An object is a child object of another object, if the position of this objects has impact of the own position. This is only the case, if the parent object is vertical expandable and the child object is horizontally overlapping the virtual expand-region, or the child-object is anchored to the parent object.
So if you have this layout:
blue box fixed size
red box fixed size
yellow box fixed size
and you set page break before to the red box, you will get:
blue box
yellow box
-- page break
red box
If the red box is verical expandable you will get:
blue box
--page break*
red box
yellow box
So in your tabluar report your field of the report should be in a frame and this frame should be child object of your new object which must be vertical expandable or anchor them together.

Use 10g report to create a jsp for spreadsheet output

How to create a graph(9i reports) with 3 queries in 1 Chart
Hi, i have 3 query's which creates three groups.
The x-as is de month,month1,month2.
The Y-as ClaimsInEURO.
There has to be one BAR which displays the top10 reasons.
And two lines one with Total Claim and one with SUM Claim.
Can onyone explain me the settings and especially how to set the groups?Hi,
You may not be able to create one graph with multiple queries. You must get all the data into ONE query, and create a graph based on that query.

Reports 10g Missing information during file conversion
I have a large report that includes several graphs that keeps giving me an error during conversion that says the report is missing information and cannot create the file. I have never seen this before this report. It is actually giving me the message REP-1067 Some information is missing in the report. It just seems to happen when I add another graph. There is no information on REP-1067 in searching in the forums which does not give me a lot of hope.. Anyone have any ideas where to look. Report Builder 10g, Database 10g.
There are already several graphs in the report, so I don't believe it is a graphing issue.

I have added one image in existing Report to customize it.While seeing the utput in Applications it does not display the image. The format for the image is .jpg.We are using Applications R12,Reports 10g.How to get it.
Hi ,
Firstly sorry for asking in the same thread . .
I am also working in the same envronment.
my destination type is PDF and its a bitmap report.
so my senario is something like this.
I need to print the signature of the agent based on the agent id on all pages of the report.
and each page it has to check the agent id and print the same .. we can issue the report to generate the o/p for multiple orders/so multiple agents. . . so
1st page -> jack -> so his singature . ..
2nd page -> Jack . . same order continues -> same signatuer repeats.
3rd page -> scott -> so another signature . .
issues:
we have to print this in the footer of the page . . so we used the edit margin section for the same.
we are actually picking up the agent id for that page using a summary column and function set to last and reset at page level.
( both the summary column and the formula colum are not in any group in the data model)
we created a formula column for picking the image file properties below
type: character
read from file: yes
file_type: image
it actually works but the problem is the image starts from the second page onwards. and for 3 pages it prints . . .
1st page -> blank - Jack's signature is req.
2nd page - > jack's signature appears . .
3rd page -> jack's signature -> should be scott's signature
in case the fourth page for scott or any other person is ther e
scott's signature appears . . .
please guide me . . .
thanks and regards
Jagan.
