Reports 10g Style Sheets

Where is the "Oracle Reports online Help" that contains documentation for CSS Class Name property and the Style Sheet property?
The "Oracle Reports - Building Reports" manual (part# B13895-01) does not have this information. This manual sez to look in "Oracle Reports online Help".
When I do a decumentaion search for "Oracle Reports online Help" I get a link to the Oracle Reports - Building Reports" manual and one other link that sez to look for the "Oracle Reports online Help"
A very circular run-around...
Any suggestions???

• XML report missing style sheet location

Hi all
I am having a issue regarding XML report generated by TestStand. I am using a custom style based heavy off NI example style sheet horizontal.xsl. The report generation works correctly on my development system however when the sequence is deployed onto runtime machine the header to the XML report is missing the style sheet location. i.e:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
Rather than:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?><?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="G:\Test\ATE4000_Production_Test_Results\T6MK6\Style_Sheets\T6MK6_PAS_Test_Sheet.xsl"?>
If anyone has any idea what might be causing this issues i would be very greatful for any advice.
Many Thank
D.Barr
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Thanks for the reply.
I found the issue. I was determining the location of the style sheet using a registery key. The registry key contained double slashes which resulted in the style sheet not being found. I.e.. C:\\Test\\T6MK6_PAS_Test_Sheet.xsl. With single slashes the program worked as excepted.
Thanks again

• 10g report Style Sheets

In the Oracle 10g Report Level property sheet there is a line item "CSS Class Name" and also "Style Sheets"
Where is the explicit Oracle on-line documentation for these items?

Believe you called this correctly, and the first reply. Yes somehow imported text was tagged with a character style, and paragraph styles were then not applying themselves properly. When the character style was set to none; the paragraph styles suddenly worked as usual.
Give yourself a perfect score (and end the discussion).
Thanks.

• Generate report from database using .xsl style sheet

I am trying to view test result histories for specific uut serial numbers.
We are logging all test data to the default access database template that was provided with Teststand.
Is there a method of generating reports from the database that match the format of those generated at runtime?
I was surprised to find that the default access database did not contain any gui or pre-made reports matching the xsl style sheets chosen in the report options dialog.
My database skills are weak, I am able to browse the raw data and I see the relationships between some of the tables, but the prospect of recreating one of the xml report formats in access seems daunting. Am I missing something? what is the best way to print a uut report from test data stored in access?

Hello msears,
Thank you for posting on the NI Discussion Forums. Unfortunately there are no tools available in TestStand for directly converting an Access database to a formatted .xsl report. It is possible to have a step in a sequence that reads the information from the database, and create the .xsl report as if it had been generated at sequence run-time, by writing those values directly to Locals.ResultList. Admittedly, this would require some knowledge of Microsoft Access, and the ability to write a program that will extract information from the database, in order to include it as a step in the sequence.
Is there anything stopping you from creating a formatted .xsl report when the sequence is run (instead of trying to create it from previous data stored in an Access database)?

• Can the XML style sheet be embedded in the report file?

My customer would like to be able to share test reports with several locations. The problem is that sending just the XML report file is not enough. The report file points to a style sheet that must exist at the specified path on the destination PC. It creates problems when one simply wants to email over a test report. I have customized the style sheet slightly to make things easier to read. So, can I embed my custom style sheet in each report file?
Thanks,

Hi,
The XML style sheet should not be embedded into the report file. Since XML would represent raw data, you would not include information on how to interpret it. However, there is a way for you to easily reference your style sheet, even when it is on another computer.
1) Go to Configure >> Report Options in TestStand, and change the style sheet file to your style sheet.
2) Uncheck the "Store Absolute File Path" box.
3) Make sure the style sheet is in the same folder as your report.
You can view this on any computer, and now a relative path is now being used to reference the file.

• Using a Print Style Sheet to hide columns in a report

Hello there,
I am curious to know whether it is possible to hide certain columns in reports using a print style sheet.
I tried using the 'CSS Class' attribute when editing column formatting but it appears to be completely ignored and simply overwritten with the theme's default CSS Class for a report table cell (t15data in my case).
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Cheers,
Jordan

Hi Jordan,
Perhaps the simplest thing would be to change your page template (or, more probably, take a copy of the one you are using and edit that instead).
Add id="#COLUMN_HEADER_NAME#" into the TH and TD tags for the Column Heading Template and all of the Column Templates.
Then, in the Region Header of the region containing the report (or anywhere above the region), enter in:
<style type="text/css" media="print">
#ID_OF_COLUMN_TO_HIDE {display:none}
>/style>
I have not tested this to see if it impacts on any other page functionality, but it does do what you need - ie, the column appears on screen but not on a printout.
Regards
Andy

• Adding report header lines using expand.xsl style sheet

Hello
I would like to add a few header lines (appears only at the first page of the report) into my XML report that is based on expand.xsl style sheet.
Since I am not familiar with XML, is there any example or a modified (ready to run) expand.xsl style sheet that implements it?
Thank you
Zvika

Hey Zvika,
Chek out this website: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4759
NI doesn't support any changes in the xsl however so if you change it you are on your own. You can look to this website for help with that: http://www.w3.org/XML/

• How to include custom style sheets in BI 7 WAD (Web Reports)

Hi,
I have WAD in 3.X, where I have used custom stylesheets. Now I need to use the same style sheets of 3.x development in BI 7 WAD.
How do i achieve this?
Regs, Arka

Hi,
Stylesheets cannot be included via the Web Application Designer for BI 7.0 web templates. You need to use the Theme Editor of the Portal instead. Please refer to the documentation:

• Is there any way to create a style sheet in APEX?

Hi experts,
I am in I am in Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g 11.2.0.1.0.
Is there any way to create a style sheet in APEX any version?
I want to create a style sheet and use APEX report column link to it.
Thanks.
Cow

Well, if that is the case, then you'll need to do some PL/SQL programming to write a package to create all of that for you, then execute the package when the 'link' column is clicked.
After your package is written, change the attributes on your link column to be a URL instead of page in your application and call it like:
javascript:{MypopUp2('http://your.server.name/print/owner.package_name.sub_procedure?key=#COL01#',800,600);}
On my system, I created a new DAD and user just for this one purpose, to read an select the information in my report, generate the HTML to display the data, etc. without leaving a loophole someone could exploit to get direct data manipulation access. My report though is a form-type report of all the data from about 40 tables for that one 'master' record, with css formatting included. I'm not directly generating a css file based upon data within the database, but simply adding the css formatting into the HTML file my package generates.
Does this help your problem?

• Getting the file name using ehdr:getRequestHeader function in style sheet

Hi, I am facing an issue while using ehdr:getRequestHeader function to get the name of the file, which was placed in FTPS server and read by FTP Adapter. In style sheet I am trying to get the file name as below.
<xsl:variable name="fileName"
select="ehdr:getRequestHeader('/fhdr:InboundFTPHeaderType/fhdr:fileName','fhdr=http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/ftp/;')"/>
and based on the file name I am trying to fetch the values from Property file, map it to a schema and make a SOAP service call.
When i use the above functionality in style sheet exception occurs and in ESB instance I am not able to view the exception.
It is saying as 'Details of the message are not available, The message details would have been purged'. In logs it is showing the following error trace.

When I use the same function getRequestHeader for FileAdapter, it is working fine. Do anyone know why this issue occurs? Is this an issue with environment?

As far as I can see the problem is the invoke of the SOAP service. This could be because of an empty filename but maybe there are other issues. First, make sure that the filename is read correctly by looking it up in the BPEL runtime process. Maybe the content is different than you expected it so that the read action for the properties give wrong result. Are you sure that ehdr is the correct prefix for the ftpheader?

• Using RoboHelp 8 style sheet with RoboHelp 9

Howdy. My issue:
I was using RoboHelp 8 at work to craft a web help document out of a Word file. We have a company CSS we apply to web help for look, feel, etc. It worked in RoboHelp 8, but not in 9 despite following the same Word Import procedure. Needed to upgrade to RH9 because RH8 was not recognizing our version of Word to compile and create the web help files.
How can I make my old style sheet work with RH9? Is there some step I'm missing? Help appreciated with 20.1 bazillion thank yous in advance.

Hi there
First we need to know what type of string you are using and obtain an exact measurement.
I'm joking, of course, but the fact here is, we need more information. Things like:
You said "...despite following the same Word Import procedure.". What are the exact steps in said procedure, please?
Note that it's a simple process to ignore any style sheet during the Word import, then later import just the company CSS file and associate it with your topics. All of that can be done in perhaps 30 seconds or so.
Cheers... Rick

• How to apply style sheet (.css) in Weblogic directory listing

Hi,
We are migrating a directory listing application from Apache to Weblogic.
Earlier we did this by Apache httpd.conf entry like below :
<Directory "/opt/apache/httpd-2.1.9/htdocs/Myreportfolder">
IndexOptions FancyIndexing FoldersFirst NameWidth=* XHTML
IndexOrderDefault Descending Date
IndexStyleSheet "/css/style.css"
</Directory>
/opt/apache/httpd-2.1.9/htdocs folder has all it's usual resource files.
We were able to see documents in "Myreportfolder".
Now we have moved to Weblogic and using virtual directory mapping as below and we are trying to achieve the same thing:

</wls:virtual-directory-mapping>
<wls:context-root>/getreports</wls:context-root>
</wls:weblogic-web-app>
We are able to view the reports but we do not get look-and-feel of Apache like directory listing.
but we encounter below issues:
1) File/Folder icons are not visible - we want to use style sheets in http header from the response that is returned from weblogic server
2) Filename is limited to 29 characters when it is showing
3) Files are not sortable as Descending order - we sorted using tag <wls:index-directory-sort-by>LAST_MODIFIED</wls:index-directory-sort-by> but the latest file is shown at the last
We are thinking that Weblogic must be having some configuration like Apache httpd.conf where we can apply style sheets (css ).
We would appreciate af anyone can provide better insight into the issue.
or is it possible to extend weblogic.servlet.fileservlet class to serve this purpose.
Thanks & regards,
Rabi
