Reports 6i on HP Ux 11 Installation problem

I am trying to install Reports 6i ( Report Builder 6.0.8.8.3 ) on HP-UX 11 ( HP-UX B.11.00 A 9000/811 ).Actually I am a developer and this is not my best area. During the installation, all link commands, using Motif libraries, exit with an error - below you can see a dump. Anyway I am able after the install manually to link the GUI report runtime - rwrun60, changing a little the link command line. The CHUI runtime - rwrun60c, links successfully during installation. Now, when I try to execute a report with the GUI and the DESTYPE is SCREEN, everything works fine and I can see the output. If I try to set DESTYPE=FILE, I receive an error REP 1300 FATAL TOOLKIT ERROR. I need the runtime to work in a batch mode - the machine is going to be a report server. In batch mode both runtimes give the same message - REP 1800 FORMATTER ERROR. The very strange thing is, if I set DESTYPE=PRINTER, in one of the dialogs I have option SAVE TO FILE and this works ! It is apparently matter of incorrect installation.
In the Installation guide there is a list of patches that has to be applied to HP Ux before installation. Here is the list -

I have applied all patches, that are relevant to the system (some are for 2 processor systems and ours has one processor, and some are for VxFS file system, which the machine does not use), that I was able to find.
Excuse me for the long description. Any hints how to manage this situation will be appreciated.

The Unix server will run faster and reliable in comparison to every WINDOWS/NT instalation. Unix is the best solution for back end and midle tier sides. On the front end you have to use Internet browser.
On the server you will need Oracle itself, Forms server, Reports server. The both products use components of WEB DB as WEB Server.

Crystal Reports Server 2008 Trial Installation Problem
I recently downloaded the trial version of Crystal Reports Server 2008 and ran into a problem with the installation key code sent to me. During the install, I enter the keycode and the install application says it is invalid. I'm attempting to install the Linux version on Red Hat Enterprise 5.2. I know that this is technically not a supported version of Linux but I would not expect that cause a problem with the key code.
Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening?

I would suggest you to install Crystal reports on supported platform only.
To narrow down the issue you can try to install on other machine with supported environment so that it would be clear that the issue is with Keycode or not.

EPM 11.1.2.1 Installation problem on Laptop (Windows Server 2008 R2 x64)
Dear All,
I hope someone can help me here with EPM 11.1.2.1 installation problem on my notebook - Windows Server 2008 R2 x65, 8 GB RAM, running SQLServer 2008 Express.
I installed Hyperion Foundation. The installation and configuration went through successfully.
I am facing two problems:
Problem 1
When I try to access the workspace through the URL http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp, I get error:

Also, the service "Hyperion EPM Server" service not able to start. When I try to start, I get error message:

Installation problems in MSCS ORACLE 10.2 ECC 6.00
I am writing to report some unexpected installation problems. I am installing SAP ECC 6.00 in a MSCS cluster environment (Windows 2003 / Oracle 10.2) in our production environment and I am having problems during the installing the central instance phase. The sapinst_dev shows the following error: CJS-30102 Checking the database for installation type failed, Also the jsourcecheck.log shows the following error: com. sap. engine. frame. core. configuration. Configuration Exception: Error while connecting to DB and java. sql. SQLException: Excepción de E/S: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection at oracle. jdbc.driver. DatabaseError. throwSqlException (DatabaseError.java:112)
The database is currently running without any problem and all the services (SAP and Oracle) as well.
Following the installation guide, I performed the almost all the steps successfully:
Oracle RDBMS, patches and Oracle fail safe software on both nodes (successfully)
Install the central services instance for ABAP (ASCS) on the first MSCS node (successfully)
Install the central services instance (SCS) on the first MSCS node (successfully)
Cluster the first MSCS node (successfully)
Install the database instance on the first MSCS node (successfully)
Cluster the additional MSCS node (successfully)
Install an enqueue replication server(successfully)
Perform additional steps for the Oracle Fail Safe configuration (successfully)
Create the Oracle Fail Safe group (successfully)
Set up as shared database directory in your Oracle Home (successfully)
Add the Oracle database resource to the Fail Safe group (successfully)
install the central instance (Failed)
install at least one dialog instance (not installed yet)
As you can observe, I have performed the create oracle fail safe group activity first and then the install the central instance later. Reading the sap note 967121 today, I just realized that there is a wrong installation sequence; the sap note 967121 (actualized date: 17/OCT/07 ) says that you must install the central instance before you create the Oracle Fail Safe group. Is this sequence compulsory? Or can I continue the installation process?
If this sequence is compulsory do I have to reinstall all the predecessor activities or should I undo just the create oracle fail safe group activity?
Please let me know if the error which is showed in the installation of the central instance phase is because the wrong sequence or it is due to another reason.

one of the main problems is that step
"Create the Oracle Fail Safe group (successfully)"
cannot be successful because you need to run configtool and change the secure store as described in installation guide. At this stage the configtool does not exists (documentation error for ECC6.0 guide), so the correct sequence is to install CI and cluster the DB, but not vice versa.
Which stage is the sapinst braking up?
Is this beginning, middle or end of installation?
Did you try to run configtool and modify secure store?

SQL Developer Installation Problems

We are trying to find a workable alternative to TOAD and have tried to install SQL Developer with not much success.... I think I am just about to give up but hope this last attempt to post for help can create a miracle.
I would appreciate very much if any one knows of a comprehensive document out there that can help trouble shoot the installation problems.
Let me give you the hardware and software versions first and then the problems.
1) SQL Developer tried: sqldeveloper-1.2.1.3213-no-jre and sqldeveloper-1.2.1.3213
2) JRE tried: JRE 1.5 and JRE 6 (C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03)

Problems:
1) SQL Developer could not find native JDBC. I don't understand why, despite all the variables set in Oracleclient10g_basic in the registry, SQL Developer did not seem to be able to find a 10g client on a network drive. I have to install 10g client directly onto my pc (C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1) to solve this problem.
2) SQL Developer abruptly disappeared after database login.
I was able to connect and log into an Oralce 10g database with TNS Connect Identifier approach. There were objects (tables, views, etc) showed up briefly on the left hand side of the SQL Developer and then it just completely disappeared without even an error message or a tearful good-bye.
The only thing I can find is this error log about EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. After hours searching through OTN for possible mentioning of this error with SQL Developer, I found nothing so far.
Why is it so difficult to install SQL Developer? Are there a set of un-spoken pre-requisites that has to be satisfied before it can be installed properly? If so, what are they? Path system variable? Registry? Anything else?

a TOAD loverThe problem you are seeing (the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) is a result of a version mismatch between the JDBC driver being used by SQL Developer and the Oracle client that is found on the path.
This issue only occurs when trying to use the OCI version of the JDBC driver. The simplest fix is to switch to using the basic connection type and thus using the thin (all Java) JDBC driver. As no Oracle client is required in this case, the version mismatch won't be an issue.
However, the connection approach you are using should work, and if you wish to try to sort out the problems there, we should be able to further diagnose the underlying cause of the version mismatch.
To do this, I would need to see what SQL Developer thinks are the potential Oracle client installs, as well as which install it ends up picking. Can you copy/paste the output in the Log Window (Logging Page) that is present after SQL Developer starts (but before you attempt to connect to any database)? There should be a whole series of entries like 'Checking for ORACLE_HOME environment variable' and 'Checking JDBC driver at <some path>'
These log entries are output by SQL Developer as it tries to sort out the various bits of information about Oracle client installs and thus give a peek at the selection logic being used.
Oh, and also - the value of your PATH variable would be useful as well. It may be that there is an Oracle client install on the PATH that supersedes the install SQL Developer is finding via the registry or ORACLE_HOME variable.

despite this problem, the SAP system does up and runing in the MMC console. but when I logon to the system, there is always ABAP program problem come up immediately, system always report there is missing function, I can not do any further processing.

I've just purchased a tablet that comes with a host of programs, one of which is PSE9, which I am trying to install, with no luck. The installation almost completes but stops at "Shared Technologies" and rolls back the installation. I've tried multiple times with the same problem. I've gone though the installation problem checklist and the problem still persists. I've closed all other Adobe programs and triple checked the processes tab of the Task Manager to make sure no other Adobe programs are running. I've also tried the advice offered in this thread with no luck. I do not run any other Photoshop programs; this is my first purchase in quite some time.
I'm not very good with computers, but I am running Windows 7 64-bit with 32.2GB free.
Please help! I'm at the end of my rope.I should have been more clear! I mean I have purchased a drawing tablet that comes with a CD to install PSE9, not a handheld tablet.
@Bill: I might have missed something when shutting off my anti-virus, so I'll try it again and report back.
Edit: Nope, it still rolls back the installion at Shared Technologies even when I've made sure my anti-virus is completely off. -

adriano.baYour 4MEM error code is indeed reporting to you that some of your RAM is not working properly (MEM = memory, i.e. RAM).
The fix for this (replacing the RAM) is normally covered under warranty for a computer as new as yours is. To get the free warranty repair I believe that you do need to bring your computer to an Apple-certified repair center, however. If you order the RAM and do it yourself, you will need to pay for the RAM and also go through the trouble of opening your computer to access the RAM, which is not that hard to do for some people, others prefer to have a technician do that.
I'd suggest that you have Apple do the RAM fix, if only so that the replacement RAM is covered as well going forward ... -
Trial ABAP 7.02 - installation problem in execution phase step 5/24
Hi Folks,
Seek your advise to solve the error I'm facing during trial ABAP install.
I'm tryng to install the trial ABAP 7.02 version on my notebook which is running WINDOWS 7 home premium.
I downloaded the j2re-1_4_2_19 version.
Have hit error during the execution phase in step 5 (install database client).
The message popped is as below:

We have been getting reports that some developer had trouble installing the Java ME SDK 8 EA plugins into NetBeans. We are working on fixing the issue, in the meantime please try the workaround posted in the Java ME SDK forum:

For the Raspberry Pi, tooling over serial port is not supported. The simplest solution is to use standard IP networking over Ethernet. This can be a direct connection between the PC and the Raspberry Pi, as long as the cable is twisted and the IP addressing is correct (e.g. manual IP addressing or DHCP server on the PC).
Regarding "Connecting to a UART Device": This is meant for attaching and controlling serial devices from the Raspberry Pi, not for tooling connections between the Raspberry Pi and the PC.

KB2967917 Installation problem

I've been trying to install optional Windows Update KB2967917 on a Dell XPS 11. Everytime I install the update and restart the system
immediately goes to startup repair and fails to fix a problem. The system can't be restarted, so I have to restore to the latest restore point. The log shows that the system thinks that tcpip.sys and fwpkclnt.sys are corrupted and that they can't be fixed.
Running SFC /scannow before update installation shows no problems. Attempting to run SFC from the repair centre command line after update installation results in an error - SFC won't run because a system repair is in progress. I am at a loss for how to proceed.
Thanks for your help.I ran the tool and tried the update, but the same problem occurred - system booted into automatic repair and failed to repair. Interestingly, trying to run the Windows Update repair tool multiple times always results in the same problems being found and
fixed - this makes me think the tool isn't actually fixing the problems even though it reports them as fixed. The detected problems are:
Service registration is missing or corrupt
Windows Update error 0x80070490(2014-07-13-T-06_26_02P)
Problems installing recent updates -
CR 11.5 Release 2 re-installation problem(s)
I had to move a licensed version of 11.5 from a Windows XP machine to a Windows 7 machine. We were unable to find the original installation disk. Customer support gave me links to install the last version of 11.5 and a Release 2 that is apparently required.
I had several problems, and struggled through them with customer support. Finally, I got this error message, and customer service could not give me any further help:
Error 1334. The file 'crdb_oracle.dll.E8E441B2_4593_4F3F_8878_4E5AE3C80FC2' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'm47.cab'. This cound indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
The error comes up not during installation, but during configuration, which happens when I try to run a report that was created with the old version. To be clear, there is a 'm47.cab' file, and I believe that the configuration process found it, because I got a different error before when it was not able to find the file.
Customer support tells me that this version is old and no longer supported, so there is nothing further they can do, and sent me here. My old XP machine has already been scrapped. Is there anything left for me to try? There is no money in our budget for an upgrade, which should not be needed anyway.That would probably be a good idea, but I don't know how. The only choices I seem to get on installation are if I do a Custom installation, and I didn't see anything there about avoiding "install on first use". Note that I am not in IT, I'm just an end user/report writer.
I have a related problem where the first suggestion above doesn't seem to work. This is where the data fields and selection criteria for the report are all in a Command. I can't see a way to Set Data Source Location when it's a Command.

I have tried to install Solaris 8 on my Dell machine.
I have tried to boot both directly via CD and by using Device Configuration Assistant on a floppy..

Thanx a lot..I have heard about the ACPI that may be a Power Managemnet Tools or something, it always be found in Microsoft Window 2000 Device Manager, sorry I can't help you to solve the problems.....because I also have some installation problem on my Intel paltform @_@.

I'm trying to install the new iTunes 6.0 and I'm getting a message during installation that says

Installation problem on SUSE 12.1

I'm a Linux beginner and I am trying to install LV on SUSE 12.1

The installation started and it looks quite all right, but when I try to start LabVIEW, the application just sits in the taskbar for about 20 seconds and then just disappears.
Any ideas?
Is there a way to debug to see what's going on?

Unfortunately, there are no versions of LabVIEW supported on SUSE 12.1 at present. Here's a link to LabVIEW version compatibility with different Linux distributions. I saw from your other forum that you're attempting to install LabVIEW 2009, which is certified for SUSE 11.0 at the latest.
