Reports 9i BUGGY?

I've installed Reports 9i (9.0.2.0.1) on Windows XP Professional on a Dell Dimension 8200. I've encountered a number of bugs. For example, in Query Builder tring to set the sort order causes Reports to crash every time. I also crashed while trying to use the slider bar in Paper Layout.
Could these be problems specific to using XP and Oracle 9i (9.0.1.3.1)? Have others encountered a number of crashes with Reports 9i?

The Query Builder issue that you mention is a known bug, and there is a patch from support. We are planning a patch release for Reports towards the end of the month. This will be available through Metalink.
Regards,
Danny Danny, do you know when this patch will be available? If it is available, can you please send me a Patch number?
Thanks

  • Apple to report on buggy iPhone 2.0

is Apple going to report on the bugginess that everyone seems to be talking about here? It's unfortunate after the fiasco on friday, and it seems like most of us are experiencing really buggy ticks in our phones now, I know I am, and almost every post looks that way. It really is quite disappointing but is apple addressing this issue, i've recalled many account from me and everyone about, worse battery life, worse reception, apps quit, slowdown, and random bizzare bugs. So does anyone know how apple is addressing this? It is sad to think that people actually want to downgrade their firmware. thoughts,

Why would apple feel compelled to "report" on "buggy iPhone 2.0? I have three working perfectly.
What do you mean, "it seems like most of us are experiencing really buggy ticks in our phones now"? Most of who? By most accounts, there are close to 5 million 1st Generation iPhones in use. By all accounts, and based on iPhone software 2.0 downloads which number in the millions, several million of those have been upgraded to 2.0. There have also been over 10 million applications downloaded from the App Store. In light of those figures, the problems being reported here hardly represent the experience of "most" users.
Why would Apple feel compelled to address what is basically a "non-issue" as it is affecting only a small fraction of 3G iPhone customers (over 1 Million in three days) and existing Original iPhone customers who have upgraded to 2.0?
You cannot judge the success of the 3G iPhone, the software update to 2.0, and the average user experience, on what you read here as this is basically an "iPhone Hospital" where, for the most part, only those with issues or those who offer help to same come.
As for my household, we have not yet bought a 3G iPhone but have upgraded three first generation phones to 2.0 without incident. I add, interestingly enough, that two of the three were upgraded on older Macs which have only USB 1.1. My wife, an RN, is also successfully running ePocrates RX, basically a PDR database application, on her phone at work right now.
I'm sorry some are having issues (some of which may be of their own doing) but Apple has nothing to "address publicly" other than the overwhelming success of the 3G iPhone, the software update, and the release of resident applications.

  • UCCX Historical Reports Not Accurately Filtered by Agent Name

Hello, we're having an odd problem when running our historical reports.  When we filter a report by Agent Name only a couple of agents have any records.  However when we filter the same report by skill or CSQ name the records for all agents are present, leading me to think that the records are not being tagged properly somewhere in the database.  Has anyone seen this before or have any suggestions for resolving this?
For an example, if I run the Agent Call Summary report and filter by all of my agent names, I only get records for 3 people during the reporting period.  If I filter based on CSQ name I get records for all 25 agents.
We are using UCCX version 8.02

I'm also having agents show in the filter list that are no longer in the system, and in at least one case reports filtered by a skill report an agent who is not assigned to that skill anymore.  Are these symptoms a result of configuration in some way?  I'm starting to feel like the reporting is buggy in this release.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro X Shared Review Process

I have a problem when addressing to one person's name when trying to send a review PDF. As shown in the image, the person's name does not bet recognized in MS Outlook. At this time, this is the only person's name that fails. However, I can send this person an e-mail through Outlook without a problem. Once I get the dialog box shown above, I get into a loop that I cannot get out of without cancelling. One time, it managed to send this person the review PDF and they stated that their name appeared twice in the To:  field.  Has anyone had this same problem?

I was just suggesting some troubleshooting ideas. I do know people have reported similar buggy behavior, for example: http://acrobatusers.com/forum/collaboration-commenting/shared-review-not-reading-outlook-g oups-members-correctly/

  • Resource filter is not working on 'Timesheet Adjustment' page. in project server 2013

    Environment : Project Server 2013
In Time-sheet approval page, Time sheet manager unable to filter the resource time-sheet.
In time-sheet adjustment page time-sheet manager unable to filter the data as per resource.
Please help to resolve the issue.

    Hi,
As far as I know, this feature which exists since at least PS2007 was never reported as "buggy". Thus I think it is an issue due to which user filters on which timesheets, meaning a visibility setting. It is really hard to debug for you since I
do not know exactly the steps you went through and your configuration. I would start by testing simple scenarios in a dev environment using delegation sessions to check from the timesheet manager point of view what he can see. It is also important to check
    the timesheet status.

  • Report VIs are buggy when printing a Table

I am trying to print a front panel that contains a table (2009 SP1)
If I use the Report VIs, the panel image is stretched out and the bottom is lost, no matter how I do it:
    1) I have two indicators (including the table).  I tried appending them separately to the report.  No Good.
    2) I take a full panel image.  No good.
    3) If I run the same code, but comment out just the portion where the table is added, it's OK.
    4) If I print the same panel using the "Print VI" method, I can get a good image.
At the same time, I am also trying the Print.VI_To_Printer method.  Although it works fine once I have used the drop down menu to set up the options, my customer is running an EXE and his looks wrong (prints all controls, orientation is always landscape, etc).
Any ideas?  This is killing me.

    Hi Jed,
Would you be able to post your original VI so I can try to reproduce the behavior?

  • Report SDK roadmap or workarounds?

Hi, my company ships a metadata-driven 3rd-party application which creates and manages universes and WebI reports.  We're finally starting to get customer interest in upgrading to BOBJ BI 4.0, so our next release will support that.  Like a lot of other people, we were dismayed to learn that SAP has gutted the Java Report SDK, which was the only SDK capable of creating WebI reports.  So right now I'm faced with the prospect of a release which will only create WebI reports for 3.1 customers, and leave 4.0 customers out of luck.
Here are some of the workarounds I've been considering.  They are all pretty expensive/risky, so I don't want to commit to any of them until I have better insight into where SAP is taking things.  I'd appreciate any feedback on any of these ideas.
    1. Ditch WebI reports and build Crystal Reports instead.
    Pros:
    i. There's still an SDK available for Crystal Reports
    Cons:
    i. We believe our customers still use WebI more than Crystal Reports.
ii. We've not yet worked with this SDK so we can't estimate how hard it will be to use or how buggy it might be.
iii. We don't know if SAP will de-support that SDK in a later release as well.
iv. We don't know if SAP is pushing customers toward Crystal Reports over WebI, or plans to continue with both over the long term.
    2. Hope for an Report SDK replacement in a future release.
    Pros:
    i. Less to do now for us.
ii. The replacement, when it comes, may be more reliable and cheaper to use that the current Java SDK.  For example, it may be supported directly in .NET so we can strip out our Java components, or it may be a true XML SDK so we can simply build reports as XML docs and push them reliably to WebI
    Cons:
    i. Our 4.0 customers won't get any reports.
ii. The replacement may never come.
    3. Hack it.
    Possibilities include:
    i. Use Fiddler, java reflection, etc, to emulate WebI and bypass the API.
ii. Look at BOBJ's report archive/migration utilities, or at the WebI repository, to find a way to fake it at a binary level
    Pros:
    i. Seamless to our customers
    Cons:
    i. Probably way too expensive and risky to really take seriously
Thanks in advance for any feedback or advice.  We are of course pursuing the same questions in parallel with our SAP partner contacts.
    -Eric

Hi Terry, and thanks for that update.
I work for Noetix Corporation.  Weu2019ve been a Business Objects / SAP partner for almost 5 years with our Noetix Generator for Business Objects product.
Our core products (NoetixViews and Noetix Analytics) create database views and data warehouse tables used for real time reporting and analytics of Oracle EBS systems.  We also have a Noetix Generator product family, providing integration with major BI platforms (BOBJ, Cognos, OBI EE, etc.).
Noetix Generators do two main tasks:
u2022     Generate the semantic model for the BI Platform (in this case, BOBJ Universes) using metadata describing the views and tables from NoetixViews and Noetix Analytics.
u2022     Generate sample reports (in this case, WebI reports) using metadata from NoetixViews that provide report definitions in a BI-platform-independent form
Noetix Generators are admin tools and are not deployed outside of IT.   The generation process is essentially a one-time step (no u201Cre-creating the report each timeu201D, just occasionally during upgrade processes) .  So you are correct to some extent when you suggest that weu2019d want to create a u201C[set of reports] that can be easily deployed programmaticallyu201D.  The catches are that:
    1.     We use the same metadata to create these reports on all BI platforms.  Maintaining separate metadata for each BI platform is not an option.
    2.     The reports we create are sensitive to the customizations in customer EBS configurations.  Itu2019s unlikely (I think) that SAP could create a tool that could export a set of reports from one custom environment to another without allowing for some significant (metadata-driven) tweaks in between.
All that said, hereu2019s what I think a report creation API should look like (and what the other major vendors' report creation APIs all actually do look like):
    1.     Define each report as a single XML document.  Make that XML easily viewable, at least to super-users or developers.
    2.     Define an API or create SDK tools for exporting/importing/securing these XML documents.  Good language support (.NET, Java, etc.) is nice here, but really secondary since 95% of the real work is in manipulating the XML.  We can always just shell out to a command line utility for the other stuff if we have to.
Thatu2019s pretty much it.  In the case of BOBJ, the XML would likely contain numerical ID pointers (rather than string references) to underlying semantic objects like Universe IDs and the columns defined in the Universe.  This might be an inconvenience, but not a significant one from our point of view since weu2019re already used to working with these IDs (from our experience with BOBJ XI).
    Thanks, Eric

  • Child Report Cursors Are Not Being Closed

A SQLDeveloper report with a running defined child report with a Refresh rate of 5 or more seconds will eventually exhaust the session's max_open_cursors and will crash with "ORA-01000 maximum open cursors exceeded". This is true whether it is the parent or child report which is refreshed.
In my case, max_open_cursors is set to 600 and the refresh rate is 5 seconds; it takes approximately 50 minutes or less for SQLDeveloper to crash.
Tracking the open cursors by viewing V$OPEN_CURSOR for the report SID clearly shows that the number of child report cursors keeps growing at approximately one cursor per refresh rate. From this it is very clear that SQLDeveloper is not closing those child report cursors and I have found no way to work around this problem.
BTW, congratulations to the SQLDeveloper team for an overall really good product at an excellent price. Still a bit buggy but otherwise quite enjoyable to use.

How are they connecting? What Service?
Any particular APPs that do this? Adobe perhaps?

  • Report Generation broken after deployment - Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi

Upon deployment, the Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi became broken.  After installing LV2010 SP1 to view the VIs in the deployment, I noticed that in the second case structure where the code draws the border using the BorderAround invoke node, there is an extra variant input parameter named 'Parameters'.  Upon right-clicking, an option to 'Relink Invoke Node' appeared and after selecting this, the extra input disappeared and the VI was no longer broken.
Why does "Relink Invoke Node" appear?  How do I create a deployment with this issue?  Has anybody else experienced this?  Why is the TestStand deployment so buggy?

    Hi Ching-Hwa,
I have set up a test deployment here where I am deploying a workspace that contains a sequence file.  This sequence file has a LabVIEW Action Step calling a VI that opens a new Excel file and simply calls the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI.  After deploying this, both the VI and my test sequence ran on the deployment machine without error.  Therefore, I do have some more questions to more accurately reproduce what you are seeing.
First, what operating systems are you developing on and deploying to?  Also, what license do you have for TestStand on the machine you are deploying to?  If you have a development version, can you manually take the sequence file and VI to this machine and run it?  I know you now have LabVIEW 2010 SP1 on your development machine, but if you have the development version of TestStand as well, it would be interesting to see if you copy the files over if you still see this behavior.  Are you including the TestStand Engine in the deployment?
Can you open a blank VI on the deployment machine and add the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI?  It would also be interesting to see if this is not a product of the deployment, but rather an issue with something on the deployment machine itself.  What version of the Report Generation Toolkit do you have on each machine?  Also, what versions of Excel are you using on the development and deployment machine?  Again, it would be helpful for me to know exactly what versions you have installed on both the development and deployment machines so that I can reproduce this as accurately as possible.
One last thing to try, too, would be to try deploying the VI by itself just to see if it also has the same behavior.  Do you have the Application Builder in LabVIEW?  If so, could you also try building an executable from the VI, create an installer, and deploy this to the deployment machine?
In regards to the "freezing" of code by removing the block diagrams, I do not believe this will be a proper work around in this case.  While this removes the block diagram from actually being deployed along with the VI and restricts users from editing the code on the deployment machine, if something is getting changed in the compiled code upon deployment, this will not stop this from happening.  This option is available more as a memory option to lower the size of the deployment as well as prohibit any users on the development machine from editing the block diagram themselves.
Thanks, Ching-Hwa!  I look forward to your response so that I can continue trying to reproduce this issue.  Have a great day!

  • Bug report: Safari 5 fails to handle 8192 bit RSA certificates

Running Safari 5.1.7 on OS X 10.6.8 -- I haven't confirmed for the version of Safari running on 10.7 -- and trying to access a site over https that uses an 8192 bits large RSA cert causes Safari to bug out. It can't display the certificate details correctly, giving just a garbled text output, and even a buggy interface dialog, and manually trying to accept the certificate to get the website to load causes Safari to run in an endless loop, displaying the certificate warning anew, over and over, making it impossible to load the page. The exact same certificate details put in a 4096 bit cert works just fine.
Could anyone in the core dev team take a look at this? The number of sites making use of 8192 bit large certs is growing, and Safari is the only browser out there that can't handle it.
add.: it seems the problem sits at a more fundamental level than in Safari, possibly in some underlying framework - apparently several other applications in OS X fails with handling an RSA cert of 8192 bits size, as mentioned in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11728527
    Possibly related: https://discussions.apple.com/message/3650856

  • Mail hangs when it receives a report that an e-mail could not be delivered.

    Hi Guys :o),
One bug which is really bugging me is that every time I receive a bounced e-mail report, with a subject line containing words to the effect of:
    "Undeliverable. Return to sender."
    or:
"The message could not be delivered."
Mail is unable to pull any subsequent e-mails down from the POP server.
So I junk the report, and then I delete it.
However, lo and behold, the errant e-mail is INSTANTLY back in my Inbox, plus there's now AT LEAST one copy in my Mail Junk, and also AT LEAST one copy in my Mail Trash.
Round and round I go, junk, delete, junk, delete, but the errant e-mail refuses to go away, and Mail continues to be unable to pull any new e-mails down from the POP server.
Eventually, Mail just hangs, with a spinning disk.
Even a force quit and relaunch of Mail doesn't resolve the spinning disk.
The errant message just sits there, REFUSING to be deleted.
The only way to get round this bug is for me to go up to my POP server, delete the report, and then PURGE DELETE the report - on the POP server !
I then have to go in to my Mac, and go:
--> Users --> Home --> Library --> Mail --> Account --> Inbox, Junk, and Deleted
and then manually drag ALL copies of the report into the trash on the Desktop.
It happens so often (pretty much every day) that I've had to create a shortcut in my Dock which leads straight to the Account folder.
Mail has always been buggy under ALL versions of OS X, but this ongoing bug drives me crazy, mainly because there's NO logical reason for it.
Just because I receive an e-mail message from the Hotmail server, for example, which says that my e-mail could not be delivered, usually because the recipient's inbox is full, or because no such address exists, on paper, that's just another e-mail which Mail is pulling down from the POP server.
However, EVERY TIME I receive such a report, Mail hangs.
I'm reluctant to rebuild my Mailboxes, in case I lose any messages, but I will if you advise it.
Any workaround would be gratefully received.
With best wishes to everyone in the Apple community, especially those on the Infinity Loop.
In particular, I wish Mr Jobs a very speedy recovery.
    Cool,

Quit Mail, Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup

  • ORA-20876 in csv export from interactive report = Possibly a bug?

    Hi Apex team,
yesterday i tried to download data to csv from an interactive report. The resulting csv file contained a "ORA-20876: Stop APEX Engine" only and no other data. I played around with other reports in my application and had no problems with exports.
After some investigation i found out that the buggy report contains a column of display type "Display as text (based on a LOV, escape special characters)". When I changed this column type to "Standard Report Column" for example, the error didn't appear anymore and the csv export contained complete data.
Maybe this is a bug? The environment is Apex 4.1.1.00.23 on 11g (UTF-8). Is there a workaround available?
    Regards,
    Jens

    Additional Information
The problem seems to occur only if a Shared Components LOV of type "Static" is referenced in the IR column.

    Hi,
what happens if you take the query from IR report and create a new classic report?
On this report enable csv export and then try the export.
Maybe that (format) data are causing export to fail.
Try to export just one row in your IR report (and classic report), so that you add where rownum < 2.

        </crash>
I have totally uninstalled and reinstalled. I removed all and any related folders that didn't get removed on the uninstall. It still keeps crashing on startup. The opening box comes up starts going through its stuff and then shuts down and a  crash report gets generated. It is the same report each time. I can't find anything that relates to the Framworks/...ahclient or a binary image set. If that's the problem maybe someone can help.

Fortunately, the developers of the product have the decoder rings.
Yes, you're crashing in your TWAIN driver -- you can see if there is an update to the scanner driver, remove the buggy scanner driver, or remove the Photoshop TWAIN plugin (which was made optional because so many TWAIN drivers crash) to disable all TWAIN drivers.
We recommend scanning outside of Photoshop -- so the scanner driver won't tie up or crash Photoshop.

  • OS X Encrypted Disk Image Tool Buggy?

    Hi,
I'm trying to create an encrypted file directory on an external HDD (My Book). I decided to try the OS X software to create one. I have tried both the following options, each of which has been buggy when transferring files into the created images:
    * 50GB Encrypted "Sparse Disk Image"
    * 50GB Encrypted "Read/Write Disk Image"
CASE 1 - "Sparse Disk Image" - errors occur when loading data/files into these images. When I check them via Verify the Disk Utility says there is a "Invalid B-tree node size" and the repair does not work.
    Questions:
[1] Is this a known Apple OSX bug?
[2] Is there a way to lodge a bug request with apple?
[3] Is there a well known/popular folder/file encryption Mac software package that works that someone could recommend?
    Details from the logs:
Jul 1 16:48:43: Disk Utility started.
    Verifying volume “raw_data”
    Checking HFS Plus volume.
    Invalid B-tree node size
The volume needs to be repaired.
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
Disk Utility stopped verifying “raw_data” because the following error was encountered:
The underlying task reported failure on exit
    1 HFS volume checked
    Volume needs repair
    Verify and Repair disk “raw_data”
    Invalid Volume Header
    Checking HFS Plus volume.
    Invalid B-tree node size
    Volume check failed.
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
Disk Utility stopped repairing “raw_data” because the following error was encountered:
The underlying task reported failure on exit
    1 HFS volume checked
1 volume could not be repaired because of an error
CASE 2 - "Read/Write" - Failed trying to create image:
Jul 1 17:15:19: Disk Utility started.
    Creating Image “raw_data.dmg”
    Initializing...
    Creating...
    Finishing...
Unable to create “raw_data.dmg” - Illegal seek.
    Thanks

Is the external drive a USB drive formatted as FAT32? If it's USB and you're using it "out of the box" without having reformatted it, then it's probably FAT32.
FAT32 filesystems can't properly hold a file larger than 2GB. I ran into this with a pocket size 12GB USB drive. Once the sparseimage file gets close to 2GB, things go haywire.
If you don't need to share the drive with Windows machines, reformat the drive as Journaled HFS+, and the problem should go away. Otherwise, keep the sparseimage files well under 2GB.

  • Crystal Reports Formatting issues when exporting to Word Editable document

Version: CR XI, I am editing a document exported from CR to Word Editable
When exporting to a Word Editable (.rtf) document the formatting changes.  For example: lines that were drawn in the report do not come across, there  is a tab in front of each line and a carriage return at the end of each line and spacing and justification formatting are not the same.  Is there a way to export to Word Editable and keep the formatting integrity? This report was developed by a third party but I can edit it if needed.

Pages 5 is, as an early reviewer put it, "an unmitigated disaster." Not only does it lack some 100 feautres that are present in Pages 09 (4.3), it is also VERY buggy, A quick look through these discussions will reveal a painful litany of data corruption, files that cannot be opened, lost data, and other anomalies. Links do not export reliably to PDFs, and, as you've discovered, export to .docx format is unreliable. Sadly, the best advice is to trash Pages 5.1 and use Pages 4.3 or — yes, it's come to that — Word instead.
