Hello Preet,
You can get Oracle 9iDS Ver 9.0.2 at the following location:

Please check the Development License page for information on 9iDS licensing issues.

  • How to add a new font into Report Builder and Oracle Forms/Reports Server?

    Hi,
I've searched the forum and can't find this being discussed.
My developers run Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on their XP laptops.
Their reports run (in production) on Oracle Forms/Reports Server 10.1.2.0.2.
This server runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
They've got a client who wants reports using the "Garamond Western" font.
So....how do I get this font onto the developer's Report Builder laptops, and onto the Oracle Forms/Reports Server?
I've moved various 'Garamond' fonts into C:\WINDOWS\FONTS on both the laptops and the server, but neither seem to recognize it.
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks.
This answers 1/2 of my question.
The developer can now use Report Builder on his laptop, with the new fonts.
But when he moves this new Report to the Oracle Application Server/Forms-Reports Server, it fails to use the new fonts.
The Oracle App Server/Forms-Report Server is Version 10.1.2.0.2. It runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
I have installed the exact same fonts on this server, into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts.
I have used REGEDIT to change REPORTS_PATH....and placed C:\WINDOWS\Fonts; as the first value in this field.
I have then stopped and restarted the Forms-Reports Server.

  • How to check the report builder version from the rdf file

    Hi,
I have a rdf file but I don't the developer using which version of report builder to develop the rdf file. So, does anyone knows how to check the rdf file is developed by which version of report builder?
When I try to use the notepad to open the rdf file, it shows the string "ROS.60050". So, does it means that the rdf file is developed by Oracle report 6i?
Besides, do anyone knows if Oracle report 6i are still offer from Oralce (as I know, the latest verison of oracle report is 11g). So, in case Oralce not offer oracle 6i and I need to buy oracle report 11g, do u know it is compatiable or I need to do the migration from 6i to 11g?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The ROS version you are seeing in the RDF file does not mean the version where that RDF was developed. I am not aware of a way to check this but something that may help is that when you try to open a RDF developed in a higher version
of Reports with a lower version of Reports builder the following warning will be displayed
Warning. Opening a report saved with a newer version of Reports Builder.
    Functionality may be lost. Continue?
"You tried to open a report with a version of Reports Builder older than the version used to
create the report. If the report uses functionality unavailable in the older version, that
functionality will be eliminated from the report.
Regarding Oracle Developer 6i. This version is not supported any more. Regarding how to upgrade Reports 6i to 11g and what to have in mind during the upgrade please review the following documentation.

  • Oracle Reports Builder X Oracle Portal - Integration

    Hi everybody
I've created some reports with Oracle Reports Builder. Then I saved them as a JSP file.
I can view these reports in a normal WEB page, without problems. All that I need is to call the page with the parameters.
Now I need to deploy this report as a portlet, inside the Oracle Portal.
So, I've read the document "Publishing Reports to the WEB" (http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/docs/a92102_01.pdf) and I've followed the steps to run the report (JSP file) as a Portlet.
    I've done the following:
    - I've created a Database Provider
    - I've created the "Report Server Access"
    - I've created the "Report Definition File Access"
Until this point, everything is ok, I can "Run" and "Run as a Portlet" the report.
So, in the next class, "Adding the Report Portlet to a Page" (Page 8-8), the report portlet simply doesn't appear in the Portal DB Provider to wich it belongs!!! :-(
Has someone had this kind of problem?
    Any hint will be welcome!
P.S: The Oracle Portal, the Application Server, and the Reports Server are in a SUN Machine.
The Portal version is 2 (release 2).
    Thanks in advance

    hi adriano,
here is what you have to do:
    1. navigate to the db provider which holds the reports. click
on grant access: check the expose as provider
    2. builder - administer - oracle reports security -
edit the reports definition file access you created for
    your report.
click on the access tab - check publish to portal.
now you can see your report portlets for selection
    in portal.
    regards,
    christian hi,
I can run the report as portlet but I can't see the "Access" tab under Customize. I know the option "Publish to Portal" is available in other object, but the "Access" tab does not appear in any of the Report Defitinion file acess page. Only "Develop" and "Manager" is available. I'm running on 9iAS R1.02.2.2a.
    Thanks

  • Finding Reports build version

    Hi,
We have a situation where there are reports build through 6i,9i and 10grel2 versions.
Is there a way through reportsAPI or some other tool that we can find the build version of the rdf files. We tried reports API master but it didnt work.
Thanks for the answer in advance.
    Imran Ahmed

This is from the Supplied PL/SQL Packages Reference
    DBMS_UTILITY.DB_VERSION (
    version OUT VARCHAR2,
    compatibility OUT VARCHAR2);
    Parameter Description
    version
A string which represents the internal software version of the database (e.g., 7.1.0.0.0).
The length of this string is variable and is determined by the database version.
    compatibility
The compatibility setting of the database determined by the "compatible" init.ora parameter.
If the parameter is not specified in the init.ora file, then NULL is returned.
There might be an easier way, but calling this through Pro*C seemed to give me the version. I haven't tried with OCI.

  • Oracle Report Builder Bugs

If the JSP file generated by Report Builder contains the statement,
    <systemParameter name="DESTYPE" initialValue="Screen" display="yes"/>
you will receive the following error message when you try to run the report in Web Layout:
javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: REP-56092: No class defined for destination type Screen
I found the only solution to be to remove the offending statement, or set its display parameter to no. (The statement can be found in the JSP file under the <data> tag.)
This statement displays the Runtime Parameter Form dialog which is intended only for Paper Layouts. Seems as if Report Builder is reading a Paper Layout statement from the JSP file when it is executing a Web Layout command.
Another minor problem occurs when you open a report and attempt to display it in Web Layout before connecting to the database. When the Connect dialog appears, the mouse pointer remains as an hour glass.
The Report Builder came packaged with Oracle Developer Suite 10g, but the Report Builder's Help About shows version 9.0.4.2.0. However, I noticed that other copies of Oracle Developer Suite 10g came packaged with Report Builder version 10g. I can't say whether the above problems apply to these later versions of Oracle Builder or not.

    Hi,
There's a dedicated forum for Oracle Reports and I would suggest you to post your questions there to get answered by those who are experienced in Oracle Reports.
I did work with Oracle Reports a long time ago, so as I remember, you have to create a link between colb and colc fields. When colb is null then this link will pull over colc and print it in place of colb.
    Hope this helps.

  • Report Builder RDF, XML, REP and Version Control

I'm looking to convert our existing RDF reports to XML format to better support version control and have a few questions.
    - Are there any issues with converting these RDF files to XML and developing them going forward?
    - When it's time to deploy to the server we'll convert them to RDF or REP. Any issues?
    - This question was asked before, [Thread: Oracle Reports Builder - RDF vs XML|https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=721959], but that was over 3 years ago. Have the issues been resolved?
    - Is anyone currently following the workflow I've outlined with success?

    Hi Michael,
Per my understanding that you want to find a solution for version control when you design the report using the Report Builder 3.0, right?
As you know that Report Builder is a tool which can only work on one single file instead of a project , so the current version of Report Builder doesn't have these capabilities. You can submit a feature request about it on the  Microsoft UserVoice site
    here:
    http://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio/category/53187-sql-bi-tools-srs-ssis-ssas-
Generally, visual Studio Team System and Visual Source Safe integrate with the Visual Studio/BIDS shell and third-party source control solutions like SVN managed from the file system play well with version control. So I would suggest you to consider use
    them instead.
In conclusion, one possible workaround for you is that you can save all .rdl files in third part tool’s(TFS) workspace folder for version control purpose (check in, check out with the Windows Shell Extension), and you can use Report Builder to edit these
report files. Then use Report Builder to deploy the .rdl file to Report Server.

  • Can not connect Oracle 10g express edition from report builder.

I have newly installed report builder . Different home was selected for Report builder and oracle. Oracle database server is also in the same machine. But i am not able to connect my oracle 10g express edition database. It throws error ORA-12154 : TNS could not resolve service name.( same error displayed while trying to connect from SQL Plus). But from toad i am able to access the database. May be because here I am able to select the proper home.
Here i am adding my tns entry

    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 1ECA66A679AB494)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = XE)
can any one suggest what the actual problem is?
    Thanks ..........

    Hello,
Oracle 10g XE is rather specific and, I'm not sure that you can upgrade it to 10.2.0.4 .
However, Oracle published an Upgrade Guide for Oracle Express Edition but, it's limited to *10.2.0.3*:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/server.102/b32391/toc.htm
    But be careful:
Once you have upgraded to Oracle Database 10g, you cannot downgrade back to Oracle Database Express Edition.Hope this help.

  • Enable tracing in report builder

    Hi,
I am relatively new to oracle reports and report builder.
One of the report in our application is taking long time (5-7 Minutes) to execute. To pin point the reason, I executed the report and generated TKPROF for sql trace file. Execution of queries in database are not taking long (entire execution at database end finishes in 1 minute). That done, now I am trying to identify if formatting of the report (report is generated in PDF format) is consuming time.
To enable tracing, i referred steps as mentioned in oracle documentation
    http://docs.oracle.com/html/B14048_02/pbr_tune.htm#i1006821
however, on my report builder, the tracing option is disabled.
Could anyone direct me to the right direction.
    Report Builder version
    Report Builder 11.1.2.1.0
    ORACLE Server Release 11.1.0.7.0
    Oracle Procedure Builder 11.1.2.1.0
    Oracle ORACLE PL/SQL V11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit ProductionOracle database version
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production

SQL tracing only tells a part of the story. You need to enable reports tracing. I have had little luck enabling tracing thru the builder. I have had much success enabling tracing via the servlet parameters or the command line.
You need to set the following params:
    TRACEOPTS=TRACE_ALL
    TRACEFILE=rwservlet.trc
    TRACEMODE=TRACE_REPLACE
The resulting log.xml can be found at (ORACLE_HOME\reports\log)
    Happy coding!

  • Change language of Report Builder

    Hello,
I have just installed Oracle Developer Suite including the Report Builder Version 9.0.4.0.33. During the install, I could choose the languages and I have chosen the already selected English and German.
Now my Report Builder is running in German and I would like to change that to English. Somehow I cannot change it anywhere (or at least I didn't find it). Is this possible without installing the whole thing again?
    Many thanks for your help
    br
    Daniel

    Hi,
Portal automatically sets the every thing on a page to the language selected. If you want the data in the report to appear in a different language then you select records from the table for the specific language using a column to determine the language. You can use wwctx_api.get_nls_language to know the language currentkly selected.
    Thanks,

  • ApplicationIntent and Report Builder

I have a SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn AG setup including the read-only intent for a secondary. I setup a data source to point to the Listener with the data source type of Microsoft SQL Server entry to include ApplicationIntent=ReadOnly. The Test connection was
successful. When I created a new report and added a dataset using that datasource and asks for data source credentials, I specify use the current windows user. I get the error "Unable to connect to data source" with Details - "Keynword not supported:
    'applicationintent'.
I see that there was a fix for .NET but that seems to apply to XP and 2008R2.
    What wrong?
I should also mention that I am using Report Builder 3.0 that I had used for 2008 R2 reports. I see that there seems to be a 2012 Report Builder version (I can't find where the version of Report Builder is indicated?). Is that the problem? Can this version
be used for 2008 R2 reports - backward compatible?

I am running the 2012 version of Report Builder 3.0. My build is 11.0.2100.60 (installed several months ago). You can find this by opening the filesystem location where MSReportBuilder.exe resides, right-click MSReportBuilder.exe, choose properties, Select
Details. The File and Product versions are there.
I don't have a similar SQL server setup to test against so I can't answer the initial question but it won't hurt to install the latest report builder anyway. Then try it again and see what happens. Good luck.
