Reports Configuration Error - 9ias Business Intelligence Install

Has anyone gotten a successful install of Business Intelligence and Forms of 9ias? I finally got a clean infrastructure install and a clean patch install. Now, I am trying to do the 9ias business intelligence and forms install. All went smoothly except the Reports Configuration Assistant. I am getting an error when the Assistant tries to execute the rwaddpage.sql. Any ideas?
Deborah

Hi!
I believe that this is the way it is.
Usually I see an AS where OCS is added. But there should be not many differences.
There was a 10g version (10.1.1 I think) where you ended up with different OracleHomes for Portal and BI. Except from adding some stuff to your disks the amount of processes will not differ greatly when starting BI from a separate $OH.
Switching off the Enterprise Manager (Application Server Control) will leave you with lots of CPU and Memory resources.

  • SSRS Reports Configuration Error

     Hi..
     we installed SharePoint Server 2010 and SQL Server 2008 R2 in 2 different servers . While installing SQL Server 2008 R2, selected Integrated Mode.
    But accessing from SharePoint, we are getting the below mentioned error.
    Ravindranath

    Hi Ravinfranath,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you could not access the report server from SharePoint after configuring the Reporting server in SharePoint integrated mode.
    If you are configuring a report server to run in SharePoint integrated mode in a SharePoint farm, the report server needs the SharePoint object model installed.
    So, for this issue, you need to install a SharePoint Web Front-end on the Report Server Computer.

    At which point are you getting that as Planning and reporting are separate, does the Oracle user you are using in the configuration have the correct privileges.

    Coy
    ====================
    Resolution Options
    Windows XP & Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
    If you are installing Crystal Reports 2011 on Windows XP, then you need to ensure that the following Microsoft patches are not installed on the machine. You can check this by using the Add / Remove Programs dialogue.
    KB2467175
    KB2467174
    KB2467173
    If any of these are installed, then please remove them before attempting to install Crystal Reports 2011.
    Installing with Dashboard Design 2011 or Presentation Design 2011
    If you are installing Crystal Reports 2011 on the same machine as Dashboard Design 2011 or Presentation Design 2011, then there may be a problem with the registry key that points to the location of the keydecoder DLL. To check this, launch run regedit and navigate to the following location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Shared Tools\keydecoder.dll
    You want to make sure that the "path" key is pointing to the valid path for the keydecoder.dll. The correct path to the DLL should be: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x8keydecoder.dll.
    Uppercase License Key
    In addition to the above, you need to make sure that you are entering the license key in all uppercase characters. There is a current issue with the installer where it does not accept lower case characters.
    Fix - Coming in SP02, but can implement manually for now
    Locate the BCM-4-0.dll.2.Config file in the <install package directory>\dunit\product.crystalreports-4.0-core-32\actions
    (replace crystalreports with crystalreportsjava for CR for Ent and xcelsius for dashboards)
    Open BCM-4-0.dll.2.Config
    Locate this line:
    <bindingRedirect oldVersion="8.0.50727.0-8.0.50727.1434" newVersion="8.0.50727.4053" />
    Modify the oldVersion number to make the line like this one:
    <bindingRedirect oldVersion="8.0.50727.0-8.0.50727.4053" newVersion="8.0.50727.4053" />
    This should allow you to install without issue.
    Further Troubleshooting
    If none of the above helps to resolve the issue, then we need the following:
    The installation logs from the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USER NAME>\Local Settings\Temp\<DATE OF YOUR LAST ATTEMPTED INSTALLATION>
    The results from attempting to run the keycode validator directly. You can find it under the folders that contain the installation package. For example, C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USER NAME>\My Documents\CrystalReports2011\DATA_UNITS\CrystalReports\dunit\product.crystalreports-4.0-core 32\actions\isKeyCodeValid.exe -keycode <YOUR KEYCODE> -version 140 -property CR.EnableCR
    You should submit a new forum post with relevant details about the error and provide links to download the logs generated by following the above steps.
    Edited by: Don Williams on Dec 22, 2011 7:53 AM

    Then try these:
    1. Download the latest version of the installation package for Crystal Reports 2011. To verify the version of extracted package, open productid.txt file located at: {installation package}\DATA_UNITS\CrystalReports\.
    Make sure it is not less than 14.0.2...
    2. Where to download Crystal Reports 2011 installation from: - free trial from SAP Online shop http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx - from SDN Community page http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm - from Service Market Place http://service.sap.com/sbop-downloads Note: downloads from all above listed locations are fully functional product installations. Trial version defined by expiring key code, not by functionality limitations.
    3. Copy the installation package to a hard drive if possible to avoid any networking issues.
    4. Login to the machine as Local ADMINISTRATOR.
    5. Temporary disable any kind of firewall, antivirus, network security etc., if possible.
    6. On the latest versions of Windows, even if logged in as local Administrator, right-click the setup.exe and select "Run as Administrator". If do not have Administrator account, right click "Run as" Select current user and uncheck the "Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity".
    7. Make sure there is enough space on the computer. If not sure about the space, run "Custom" installation with minimum components. Non-mandatory components could be added at any time.
    8. Finally, if there is an existing "InstallData" folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects rename it to "InstallDataOLD"

  • Configuring Report Services in 9iAS

    Enabling Report Services in 9iAS:
    We have installed Oracle 9iAS on Win2000 Server. We have edited the rwservlet.properties file to give our own report server name like rep9iserevr by adding a line SERVER = rep9iserver.
    Then we made a copy of the rwserver.template file and renamed this file as rep9iserver. Our Registry variables are like this:
    REPORTS_PATH F:\FORMS
    REPORTS_TMP C:\TEMP
    FORMS90_PATH F:\FORMS
    We are able to work with Forms 9i. But when we use Web.Show_Document for calling reports from Forms 9i using the following command in Internet Explorer
    http://hostname:7778/reports/rwservlet?server=rep9iserver&report=9itestrep.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=html&userid=scott/tiger@mydb
    Rep-51002 Binding to the report server rep9iserver failed.
    But, if we are accessing the report services without the report file name, etc like
    http://10.192.20.14:7778/reports/rwservlet then the browser displays the default page of the report services. Does it mean the report service has already started?
    If I call the URL http://10.192.20.14:7778/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo it displays the following error message:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <serverInfo name="rep9iserver">
    <error code="51002" component="REP" message="Bind to Reports Server rep9iserver failed" />
    </serverInfo>
    If I call the URL http://10.192.20.14:7778/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo?server=rep_<hostname> then
    we get the following error:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <serverInfo name="REP_CHEFP06">
    <error code="51019" component="REP" message="Need system user authentication" />
    </serverInfo>
    Does it mean, the clients are not having access to the server? Please note that the client machines are having full write access to the FORMS_PATH (F:\FORMS).
    Moreover, Oracle Enterprise Manager shows that Report Services Status as Down. Similarly, we are not able to select the Single Sign On Enabling for Forms Services in the OEM.
    If the status is Down, then how are we able to access the report services through the URL (though we are unable to run the report).
    So, please give us some ideas to make the reports services available from Forms.
    Thanks in adv.
    Jagadish Babu.

  • Configuration error when installing..

    Downloaded test versions, and when launching InDesign it says configuration error. Uninstall and install again. Error number: 5. Uninstalled and did it all over, same problem again. Other test versions works ei PhotoShop.

    Hi NoraO,
    Adding to what Jeff said, if you are on a windows can you please try the following two steps :
    1) Right click and run the product as an admin and check if its working as desired or not.
    2) Please check permissions on Adobe folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache & C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore .

  • Business Intelligence - Oracle Reports

    How does Oracle Reports integrate with Oracle Business Intelligence? More specifically, how can you use Oracle Reports to retrieve data based on a consolidated view (dimension)? Is this only possible using BI Beans or Discoverer?

    Hi,
    I haven't tried basing reports on a dimension, but, since it is possible to access these objects throug SQL, it must be possible with reports as well.
    unfortunately at the moment I can't test it for you, because in my current project the data base is an 8.1.7 without any dimensions.
    good luck.

  • After Effects CS5 Configuration Error 3

    I'm really getting frustrated with Adobe After Effects CS5 right now. For the last month, I have been getting a message that says "Configuration Error 3, Please re-install the product". I uninstall it, then reinstall After Effects, and I still have the message. I even reconfigured my computer to try to fix the problem. It fixed it for about 2 hours then I got the message again. I tried uninstalling then used the Adobe Cleanup Tool, as recommended to me before. This did not work. I need to know how to fix this because now I have to use this for school.
    My computer specs:
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)
    System Rating: 5.3
    Processor: AMD Phenom(TM) 9750 Quad-Core Processor 2.40 GHz.
    RAM: 8.0 GB
    Graphics Card: Nvidia GForce 9800 GT

    I wish I knew an easy answer to your problem. I haven't had to deal with Windows errors for several years now, but back in the day when I was working primarily on Windows machines I kept a system backup of the OS in a disk image using Norton Ghost. There are also probably other backup / restore options out there that work just as well.
    When I got into one of these "can't seem to solve it" scenarios, I simply restored the system OS using a good disk image from my latest clean install of just the OS and core programs. This took less than an hour and gave me a clean place to start, run the latest system updates, then install my critical apps. Once I had a clean install of my primary apps I ran another system backup using Ghost. Now you've got two clean places to bounce back to in case of a major system failure. Using the disk image you can be back up and running in about an hour no matter what happens.
    The key to making this work quickly is to keep all your work on something other than the Boot drive. If you don't have a separate backup of your work then the a restore from the disk image could take much longer. Either way, it's a much better solution than spending the better part of a couple of days reformatting the boot drive and re-installing the OS and all the programs from scratch.

    I have installed Oracle Infrastructure on one machine successfully,I'm now trying to install Oracle9ias business Intelligence on another machine.After few initial stages,I'm getting this error:-

    Sounds like your infrastructure is either down or unreachable from this new machine. Try looking into this...

  • Install and configure Oracle AS 10g Business Intelligence Comp with SSO

    Hi,
    Present setup:
    We have a Red hat Linux 3.0 ES (update 4).
    Netgrity from Site minder installed over windows server for signle sign on.
    Oracle 9i release 2 database on a separate Windows server
    What i need:
    I want to install Oracle Application Sever Business Intelligence Components 10G over the linux and configure with Netegrity Single Sign on. I am not clear what is the installation process and what is the sequence of installation and configuration.
    Can anyone help me with the Installation process and sequence.
    What should be the sequence is it like below ?
    1) first install the Oracle AS 10g Infrastructure over the Linux
    2) Secondly install the Oracle Application Sever Business Intelligence Components 10G and integrate with Infrastructure
    3) Configure with SSO
    or only install the Oracle Application Sever Business Intelligence Components 10G and Configure with SSO is enough ?
    Any help in the installation process and sequence of instlallation and how to configure for external single Sign on.
    Thanks..

    When you want to have SSO you definitly need the infrastructure as the SSO is managed in there.
    So first install the infrastructure, then the middle tier (BI components) and then configure the SSO for the BI components.
    When this is up and running you have to configure the integration with the SiteMinder. Check out the OID admin guide and the SSO admin guide.

  • Error installing SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013

    Hi
    I am trying to install SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013 and am getting the following error
    This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
    I am running
    Windows 8.1 x64
    SQL Server 2014 Developer Edition x64
    Visual Studio 2013 Professional
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Biztalk Developer

    Could you please check if Windows Installer service is running and is in automatic startup mode.
    The other thing is, if you’re running an x64-based SQL instance (64-bit), make sure to select “New Instance” on the Installation Type page, and NOT “Add features to an existing instance”.
