Oracle 10g - Creating a new Application Server using standalone OC4J 10g
I have some issues in creating a new app. server using standalone oc4j 10g 10.1.3 instance. After I created the app. server instance, I tested the connection and it says connection refused. I used the userid as oc4jadmin and the password as welcome. I am getting a message connection refused. For connection, I used the default hostname "localhost" and I didn't mention anything in the URL path.
Thanks Steve..
Here is what I am trying to do.. I want to create a new app server instance (i.e.) stand alone oc4j server, where I can deploy my web service and run a test.
Oracle JDeveloper 10g:
Under Connection Navigator, Application Server --
1) Right click to 'Create New Application Server Connection'
2) Connection type as 'Standalone OC4J 10 g 10.1.3',
3) Username ==> oc4jadmin, Password ==>welcome, checked the Deploy password.
4) Hostname: localhost RMI Port: 23791
URL path: <<blank>>
5) Test Connection ==> getting a error message...
Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://localhost:23791/default:
Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communicating with server: Connection refused: connect; nested exception is:
javax.naming.CommunicationException: Connection refused: connect [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect]
Any input you can provide would be of great help. -
How to deploy a Flex application (Server Type ColdFusion) to production
I have built a flex application using Flash Builder 4.6. It utilizes ColdFusion Flash Remoting for its data services. When first setting up the data services I had to set a bunch of properties in the flex server section. Which I am not sure are all correct but the app does run and connect to the data services. They were:
Application Server type: ColdFusion
Use remote object access service
ColdFusion flash remoting
Server Location:
Deployed to Java application server
Web Root: v:\inetpub\testFlex
Root URL: http://myDevServerIP/
ColdFusion Was folder: v:\CF9\JRun4\servers\testFlex\cfusion.ear\cfusion.war
My question is now when I'm ready to deploy to my production machine and load the app onto a tablet or other computer, obviously the Root URL will be different something like http://myLiveURL.com. Is this the only thing I change? Do I even change it here or is there some other location? Any other things I need to change?
Thanks!
Your help is much appreciated!All the paths to CFCs are the same in my live production site. Can you be more specific as to what you mean by "RemoteClass aliases in your AS Classes and CFCs (if any) are correct."? How will the app know that the CFC is on http://myLiveSite.com instead of http://myDevSite.com? The only line of code that I have noticed that points to a URL is the endpoint in a file called _Super_XXX.as. And at the top of that file it says that the file is not meant for editting.
To clarify...I see your app/code all exists on a server access via a web browser so I can understand that everything still works when deployed. Mine is a mobile app so when I am developing and testing on my local computer the URL points to my local development machine. However when I deploy it to a mobile device like a tablet and run the app, it needs to be able to access a cfc on a remote server via a different URL ie. my http://myLiveSite.com/myCFC.cfc instead of http://localhost/myCFC.cfc
Thanks for your help! I will now take a look at your thread.

10g EM cannot discover Application Server from Report Server
i have installed 10g EM on Linux AS 2.1. Everything is working fine. i want to modinot Application Server installed on remote server. I installed 10g EM NT agent on remote server. It is able to discover DB resided on that but Application server is not being discovred by Agent . Pls help
I don't know if 100% precise, but from your posts I understood that:
NO-IP keeps the domain "myuser.sytes.net" in relation to my (modem's?) dynamic IP.
The wireless router has (creates?) an internal net in relation to itself, and receiver computers are seen by the router with their internal IPs, say 192.168.1.xxx (192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101 in my case).
So I had to do port forwarding on the corresponding internal IP.
These are the steps I followed:
Accessed Router login Window by typing the IP Address of the Wireless router (by default, 192.168.1.1) on the address bar of web browser, and logged in to setup page.
Clicked on Security tab and turned off Firewall protection (my computer has its own -Windows- firewall).
Clicked on Applications and Gaming > Port range forward, and entered the details of the port I needed to forward
Application: JBoss (the name of my application -server-)
Start: 8080
End: 8080
Protocol: TPC
IP Address: 192.168.1.100 (my computer's internal IP address)
Enable: (checked the box)
And it worked!
Please correct me as necessary. As you can see, my understanding on nets is quite rudimentary.
Thanks a lot for your help. -

Crystal Report XI Release 2 - Deployment Bug on SQL Server
Post Author: PeterLiebich
CA Forum: General
H
We have a VS 2005 Crystal web app deployed onto a server - not using the RAS but using the Crsytal Report Viewer.
Nearly Everything is working however we have one slight bug which is driving me mad.
All of our reports are constructed against a development SQL Server, and then the Application resets the report location at run time to the Appropriate production server.
Everything works fine when I run the appliction via VS 2005 on my XP machine, the reports repoint successfully etc.
When I build the App and deploy it to a server, the CrystalReportViewer fails with a "Database logon failed" if (and only if) the name of the database that the report was developent against is the same as the name as the database is being repointed to (on a different server). If the developement and production databases have different names then the resetting of the location works fine.
As I said the repointing works fine when I run the App on my development machine which has Crystal Reports XI Release 2 installed.
On the Server I have installED the Crystal dlls via CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msi dated 2007/03/01.
I have also tried to deploy dlls via a GAC using CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msm dated 2006/02/24.
All to no avail
Here is the code I use to repoint the report
Dim crConnectionInfo As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ConnectionInfo
crConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity = True
crConnectionInfo.ServerName = v_ServerName
crConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = v_DatabaseName
'loop through all the tables and pass in the connection info
Dim crTableLogOnInfo As CrystalDecisions.Shared.TableLogOnInfo
For Each crTable As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table In Me.m_ReportDocument.Database.Tables
crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
Next
'set the crSections object to the current report's sections
'loop through all the sections to find all the report objects
Dim crSubreportObject As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.SubreportObject
Dim crSubreportDocument As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
For Each crSection As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Section In Me.m_ReportDocument.ReportDefinition.Sections
'loop through all the report objects to find all the subreports
For Each crReportObject As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportObject In crSection.ReportObjects
If crReportObject.Kind = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ReportObjectKind.SubreportObject Then
' you will need to typecast the reportobject to a subreport object once you find it
crSubreportObject = CType(crReportObject, CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.SubreportObject)
'open the subreport object
crSubreportDocument = crSubreportObject.OpenSubreport(crSubreportObject.SubreportName)
'loop through all the tables in the subreport and
'apply the connection set up previously to the subreports
For Each crTable As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table In crSubreportDocument.Database.Tables
crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
Next
End If

Don't know if you ever found a solution, but here is how I got it to work.
1) If it was created pointing to a localhost database, it may be using named pipes to connect, where as production / test uses TCP/IP. Our CR9 system automatically switched from Named Pipes to TCP/IP but CR11 does not. Repointing the report to a non local version of the database fixed one problem of runtime switching. (This includes switching back to localhost).
2) When you change the server name, CR11 does not update the table object, but clones it and applies the update to the clone. I needed to update the location apply the update and then apply the login change (I am not using integrated security, so this may not apply to you.). See the code below. I call setServerInfo and then setLogonInfo. Sub setLogonInfo(ByRef myReport As ReportDocument)
Dim logonInfo As New TableLogOnInfo
Dim table As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table
For Each table In myReport.Database.Tables
logonInfo = table.LogOnInfo
logonInfo.ConnectionInfo.UserID = loginName
logonInfo.ConnectionInfo.Password = loginPassword
table.ApplyLogOnInfo(logonInfo)
Next table
End Sub
Sub setServerInfo(ByRef myReport As ReportDocument)
Dim logonInfo As New TableLogOnInfo
Dim table As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table
For Each table In myReport.Database.Tables
logonInfo = table.LogOnInfo
Select Case AppSettings("DataEnvironment")
Case "PRODUCTION"
logonInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = "productionServer.local"
Case "TEST"
logonInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = "testServer.local"
Case "LOCAL"
logonInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = "localhost"
End Select
table.ApplyLogOnInfo(logonInfo)
Next table

Error deploying EAS to Application Server
Hi All,
I'm installing 11.1.2 (x64bit) on a distributed environment (two VM having W2k8)
Machine 1 - SQL Server, Essbase, EAS
Machine 2 - HSS, PLanning, Workspace,etc
I've got to installing all components and configuring Shared Services and Essbase. Now while configuring EAS, while doing Deploy to Application Server, it asks for information of Weblogic Domain on which to deploy the web application. The Weblogic domain is on Machine 2 and the configuration utility retrieves the info so that I can deploy to existing domain. But when i click on next it gives an error message:
EPMCFG-10063:Failed to connect to the remote Admin Server on the host "<servername>" and port "7001". Please, check configuration
I've been able to configure all other components which were on Machine 2 itself like Planning and RA Framework. Have also created a Planning app and did a create database successfully to check that the connection to the Essbase server is working. Not sure what could be the EAS configuration issue.
Any help would be appreciated in helping resolve this.
Cheers,
AbhishekOk John, just as a confirmation before doing it.
I'll select the option "Define a new domain" on machine 1 even though I have a Weblogic domain on Machine 2.
Then I'll enter the same Domain name (+please let me know if it should be a different name+) for this machine as what was defined in Machine 2, and then deploy.
So that would mean I have two Weblogic domains, one on each machine and that should be okay.
Thanks
