Reports don't print under WIn2K and Matrixprinters

Hi List,
(sorry for crossposting in Forums-list too!)
we are running a program designed with Oracle-Dev.
Now some of our clients change from Win98 to Win2K.
Now it's no more possible to printout on Matrix(needle-)printers (Epson LQ580, LQ980).
They are connected through a printserver on the DomainController and printing from e.g. MSWord works without problems.
The Reportserver comes up with: 'REP-1848 error while start printing'(German translation).
Printout on Laserprinters work like before. Only Matrixprinters don't work!
Does anybody had this problem before and know a solution?

thanks for your answer.
I run Version 1.6.1 and installed the latest patch today
(#2322352 1.6.1:Patch Set 15 for Developer 1.6.1 and Developer Server for Windows 95/NT )
but this doesn't change anything.
What you mean with patch 13 as the latest patch?

It's always very relative how much space to reserve for audit logs on SharePoint. It depends on so much factors... Only you can decide what is the best practice for your environment.

9i report character mode printing under Win2000/Solaris 8i

i have developed my application in oracle 9i in windows 2000 environment. i want to print the reports in "character mode" on dot matrix printer.
how to do this ?.
i have given the runtime paratmeter as
Set_Report_Object(repid,Report_other,'mode=CHARACTER')
but it gives an
error "rep-1920 character mode runtime incompatible with DESFORMAT of PDF,HTML,HTMLCSS,RTF"
i need to transfer the application into solaris 8i system. if the character mode printing is not available under windows environment is it possible to print the reports in character mode is the reports are in solaris system?

Security Reports don't accurately reflect Team and Member Access Profiles

We're converting to v7.0. After setting up security and running the reports we seem to get conflicting information. Since there's a few ways to establish security to accomplish the same objectives, is there a bug in the reports or is it the way I'm setting up the security?

Error printing both wireless and via USB

Hi my printer is a HP deskjet 3050A all in one.
It stopped communicating with the computers in the house when we were having internet issues.Tthe modem was reset.
I have unistalled it and reinstalled the printer and the drivers and I can send the documents to the correct printer from both the desktop and the laptop, but then I am getting an error printing message. when I click on to see what's printing, the document is listed in the queue but it is showing a document with three circles on it rather than a Word Document.
This is happening from both computers and with both connected and wireless printing.
Any suggestions?

If the printer doesn't show under the Programs and Features list on your Windows 8.1 systems than that generally indicates that your Deskjet 3050a e-All-in-One Printer was most likely not installed properly in the first place. You certainly can use the 'Remove Device' option under 'Devices and Printers' on those 3 computers to remove the old copies of the printer. Just make sure that there is no print jobs stuck in the queue when you go to remove the device. Print jobs stuck in the queue will cause the printer to go into a 'removing' status but the Deskjet wont delete until the jobs are deleted. To check the print queue just right click on the printer under Devices and Printers and left click on 'See What's Printing'. If anything is in the box then just right click on it and 'cancel' the jobs. Once cancelled, then you can proceed with the 'Remove Device' option.

i am running wls 5.1sp5 under win2k.
and get always the same errormessage at startup:

what am i doing wrong ??

Yes, this is a known problem that we discovered recently.
Contact [email protected] or wait until next service pack goes out.

Print Web report and don't print text but print frames

Hello , I am running a report by web browser, everything is ok and I can see that, now I want to print it so I put DESTYPE = printer and DESNAME =\\machine\printer then, when I print the report there is no mistakes but I dont know why I get a page without any character .. The frames print ok! all print ok but not the text, I test using diferent colors for the text but nothing .. could you help me please? this is really strange :( there is no message of error.

I have a very simple report that works fine
for example if I put this link:

I can see my report in web without any trouble
but when I try to print:

then I received a message of print succesfully but when I see the print
there is no text, it print images, frames, and there is an space where I expect the text but there is no text and no messages of error.

Windows Server 2008 and Crystal Reports 8.5 printing issue

I am having a problem when using the crystal reports 8.5 report viewer ocx (ActiveX) under Windows Server 2008.
When logging onto the server through remote desktop, a report can be shown on screen in preview. When this report is printed, and the user requests more than one copy, the printer only ever prints one copy. Is this a configuration of the terminal server, or simply that the ocx control doesn't cater for it?
I am using the Windows Server 2008 "Terminal services Easy Print" drivers on the terminal server.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

I can print multiple pages from notepad without any issues. It is only the print from the crystal OCX control that has the issue. It has it's own print dialog box.

My Character Report don't send printer codes to the printer

Hi every one !
I am developing an ASCII report, I made my own prt file for my printer, I defined my width ... etc.
I want to print bold characters in the printer and configured the printers code in the report (before and after), I put the "codes" in my prt file but the printer don't print in bold. I tryed using RWRUN60 from the command line but is the same.
I put the printer in Data Dump Mode to review all the data in the printer's buffer and what is receiving. The printer is not receiving the printers codes.
What is grong ?
Can Some body help me ?

Thanks for the tip. I tryed that and don't work.
I did a change in the report layout and print in doble wide that i wanted in bold.
Other issue was the "NAME" of the code, in my case, the name of the code works with numbers not with a name.
After many, many tries, this is a copy of my prt file for my printer that works !

I have exactly the same problem - Whenever I go to Print, the print widow appears, it thinks about it for a bit (rotating symbol) and then quits.

Options gone for select,edit, and print under HP Smart Web banner since HP dialed in to fix crash

The buttons are gone for selecting, editing, and printing under my HP Smart Web since HP dialed in and fixed another problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but still no luck. All that shows up is the "HP Smart Web Printing" banner with the X to exit; that's it, no options listed below. My computer has completely crashed twice since I started using it 1/4/10. The second time the person dialed in and changed the bios and a few things in msconfig but I don't see anything there that would cause the smart web printing. HELP. Am I missing something really silly since I am a new user of HP Smart Print?

I am REALLY annoyed to read this post. I have spent a lot of time to try and fix my computer (which I don't have with 5 kids...not your problem I know and NOT the point). It should NOT be this hard to update and fix a product. I DON'T WANT the Bing bar...and am feeling like I am being forced to accept it to make my puter run correctly because it is supported by HP. What....kind of service is THAT???????? I hope that someone from HP....admin or whatever...reads this. I am "madder" than mad. I have had HP products for years with few problems...and all of which I could find a solution for. This is unacceptable...and I hope someone listens. I don't know if I can trust HP again....when it won't even use the browser most use without problems. Sorry to the rest of the "forum" for venting...but I can't get help...am frustrated...find this out now...and it is nothing personal.

On Demand sub report not printing in IE and Other Browsers

Hi All,
We have developed Crystal report for our web application with version 13.0 and Visual Studio 2010.
When we run our web app in IIS report display fine in All web browser and when we print report in ActiveX mode in IE 9+ for main report it prints fine but if we print on demand sub report it not printing even a single page out of 2 or more than 2 page.
If on demand sub report has only one page then it will print in IE 9+ browser.
Even If we click on Export button on demand sub report easily export to pdf or any formate the issue while we print it.
It going to hanged while we print on demand sub report with more than one page.
Please help in this issue.
Also please let me know if you want more detail.
