    I am using crystal reports 9.0 with odbc foxpro database conectivity
    I have designed a cross tab report and it is on the report header part and all the report details  are fine,except that the report title and  and page no's only show on the first page of my report.Pls tell me how can i put my report title and page no on all the pages in my crosstab.

    You need to put your title in the page header if you want it to appear on every page.  The report header only displays once per report.

  • Report, frames and ajax

    Is it possible to inclue a report in frames and manipulate that frame with ajax ?
    If so ... where do i put the code to have a report in a page but in its own frame, where I could have scrollbars.
    The problem is I need to have all the 100 rows of a report displayed and I would want to have ajax dynamicaly scroll them over in sets of 20 without clicking the next 15 rows.
    The solution I tho. about was to put the report in a separate frame and do the ajax coding for that frame.
    thanks, Kileldear

    Hello,
    Sorry about that I'm in the process of updating my application to take advantage of 3.1 features, that page actually being one of them.
    You can still download and install the application from here http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:22 it's the version that was there a couple days ago and see how that page works.

  • Dynamic alignment of report column and page item value

    Hi friends,
    I have an interactive report which contains the columns like
    <li>empno
    <li>Name
    In the above i have "empno" with a column alignment of left and a "Name" with a column alignment of left.
    Whether it is possible to override the data alignment that we set in the report according to the value of the application item like
    If my application item value is US, then i need the column alignment of both the column"empno" and "Name" to be left and if my application item value is AR, then i need the column alignment of both the column "empno" and "Name" to be right. Whether is it possible to achieve the dynamic alignment to the report data of both the columns "empno" and "Name" according to the application page item value.
    And also in the case of page item i have a page item with a name P1_NAME in which it has a Element Horizontal/Vertical alignment to left.
    I need that element alignment of the page item to behave dynamically according to the application page item, like if the application page item is US then the element alignment of the page item has to be left and if the application page item is AR then the element alignment of the page item has to be right.
    Whether is it possible to achieve my above two scenario's friends. Kindly help me with this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Brgds,
    Mini

    Kees,
    Your approach is excellent and brilliant:-)
    I tried with your steps and i can achieve those alignment in both ways like you said(either on page load/through DA).
    But im going with the DA way. I have certain query regarding this kees.
    <li>Suppose if the report, is classic whether i can go with the same approach that i have achieved alignment with the IR report.
    <li>Currently through the DA way, i used the page item in the condition. Is it possible to use the application item instead of page item in DA. Because im going to use the application item FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE for getting the code either 'AR' or 'US'.
    <li>Finally i need this kind of restriction for the page item also, consider like i have a page item P1_X with an Element Vertical/Horizontal alignment as left. Now i need to change that alignment to right according to the application page item value, hence i can give application item condition for the page item like below
    PL-SQL EXPRESSION: :FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE = 'AR'
    i need the element alignment of the page item to behave dynamically suppose if the application item value is AR then the element alignment of that page item has to be right if the application item value is US then the element alignment of that page item has to be left, irrespective of the page item Element Vertical/Horizontal alignment that was set to it.
    Thanks for your kind help

  • Report Builder - Last page issue and Report Footer issue

    I am using ColdFusion 9 Report Builder, am new to this product and encountering 2 issues.
    Issue 1 - I have a field that I would like to print on the last page of my report.  How can I determine the last page?  I initially tried using a calculated field set to the 'highest' calc.Page_Number.  Then I could compare the current page to the last page in the 'Print When' property.  But calc.Page_Number can not be used in a definition of a calculated field.
    Issue 2 - Depending on the amount of report detail, sometimes my report footer prints alone, without a page header and page footer.  The report includes this page in the total number of pages.  For example, if it is a 2 page report, the page header on page 1 will display Page 1 of 2.  Then the only data on Page 2 is the Report Footer.  No page header or page footer prints.
    Any assistance on these issues would be most appreciated.  To date, using the Report Builder has not been easy.

    To issue 1: The report contains a report band called report footer. thsi is always at the last page. The report footer band initially is collapsed, so you have to expand it by dragging the last band divider.
    To issue 2: I guess this is a page break calculating error when detail data reaches really near the page footer area.
    Try some experiments with different setting of the following properties/issues:
    - in elements, e.g. calculating fields in the bands between report detail and page footer: In Properties / Print Control / Printing Options: Activate the option "Remove line when blank". This will remove the whole report band area if this field is blank. May save some empty space.
    - try to remove unused empty space between detail rows.
    - try to resize and reposition all detail fields so that they snap to the grid.
    Best regards

  • Print report parameters and report contents in separate pages.

    Hi ,
    I Have a report with more than 10 parameters and while printing i am supposed to print all the parameters in the first page and then the report contents in a separate page(next). This is an old report developed by some one else. i need to change this as per the user request. How can i do this. Any one can help me.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    You can print all parameters by using the syntax ¶m_name. For example, suppose your parameter names are P_1, P_2, P_3, and so on. You can print them in your report by following these steps:
    1. In the paper layout view of Report Builder, create a simple text object
    2. Write the following text inside the text object:
    &P_1
    Follow steps 1 and 2 for all parameters, eg, &P_2, &P_3, and so on.
    To give a page break, enclose all of these text objects inside a frame, and in the property inspector of the frame, set Page Break After > Yes.
    See Reports Builder Help for more info.

    Page Break Before: should be No
    Page Break After: should be No

  • Customize Report Viewer Frame and Colors

    I am using the CR report viewer (2008) from within a .Net UI application. I would like to customize frame and background colors of the viewer control. (not the background color of the report area itself).
    I can't find anything in the properties to get a rid of the light gray frame and the gray background left and right of my report pages. We are using our own styleguide for UI design and I would like to get a seamless integration of reports into our frame design.
    Hope anybody has some hints for me.
    Dirk

    Hello,
    I alread tried most of the viewer properties (BackColor, BackGroundEdge, etc...) before I posted my question here. Unfortunately it seems not to be that simple.
    Changing properties of some underlying controls I got one step further...
    The gray borderline and the dark gray background are not part of the viewer control itself, but under control of some of the underlying control elements. F.e. I am able to get rid of the dark grey background when I change the BackColor of the tab page control.
    I am still fighting to get rid of the ligth gray and black borderline, that seems to be created by the tab control istself. Unfortunately it is not just the BackColor or ForeColor I have to change here. If any body has an idea, it will be helpfull.
    Best Regards

  • Multi page report in design view and page breaks

    Hey,
    I have designed a report that spans more then a single 8X11 page in design view. The report has one parent frame and 2 child frames. The parent data prints first and then there is a page break before each child's data. The trouble I am having is that where the report is designed over 2 pages in design view the first child's data prints on the 3rd page because of the page break, and then if there is another child it will start to print on the 5th page, etc. Another problem is with the actual page numbering and that page 1 according to the print out actually is 2 pages because of the 2 page design view. I am looking for a way to design a report on 2 pages in design view but have it to print on only 1 page per parent and child depending on how much data there is. If I could fit all of the data elements on a single page in design view it would be easy, but using 2 pages is making it difficult.
    Does this make sense? Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Try doing the page break by setting the Page Protect property to Yes, not by Page Break before/after.

  • Print, Export and Page Navigation Buttons in the Report

    When I view a report through CR4E, the generated report has 3 buttons namely Print, Export and Page Navigation buttons. But when I click on either of the buttons I get a &#39;null pointer exception&#39;. This is a critical error as I am unable to navigate past the first page. Do I have to add code to these buttons? If not, why am I getting an error? Kindly solve my problem as soon as possible.

    <p>Looking at your code it appears that you are storing the ReportSource in session prior to passing in the ResultSet. This will create a problem when a postback is made on  the viewer page (which all of the viewer actions do). If you look at the sample code which is generated when you use the JSP Page Wizard you will notice that the ResultSet is passed to the ReportClientDocument object prior to it being stored in session. Then, when the page is called again this object is retrieved and the ReportSource is used by the viewer. You can quickly run the test using one of our sample reports to see what I am talking about. • Crystal 6.0 : How to hide the Page footer and Page Header of the Main Report on the Sub report.

    Post Author: pranay
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Hi ,
    I have a Main report and a Sub report .  When a subreport spans across multiple pages , the page header and page footer of the main report gets displayed along with it . I want to hide the Page Footer and Page Header of the main report when a sub report is displayed . Is there any way it could be acheived in Crystal Report 6.0.

    I am assuming you are talking about the JSControl dropdown menu navigation. The easiest way to hide Community pages is to disable the Below Banner View for that navigation scheme, although it also disables the Subcommunties, Related Communities and Go up to Parent Community links. If you still want these in below the banner menu you could not display Community Pages in the "In this Community" tab and only leave the "Community Members and Knowledge Directly" link in there.
    You would think that it would be better to remove the "In this Community" tab althogether but it is tricky to remove it due to the fact that there needs to be a default horizontal menu displayed all the time. Not all Communities will have a Subcommunities or Related Communities tab so these communities would not display any below banner menus at all if there is no "In this Community" tab, which could be confusing.

  • How to take input in one frame and display it in other frame of  same page?

    I need to take input (text) for the comment field in one of the frames and when submit button is pressed it should be displayed in the other frame on the same page.
    I am able to get the input from the user but its not reflected in the other frame which basically is a table...............so let me know if you guys have any suggestions
    I used following code
    <form name="input" action="<%= base_url %>/index.jsp?yr=<%= y %>&mon=<%= m %>&day=<%= d %>" method="post">
    Comment:
    <input type="text" name="comment" size="20"/>

    The trick is to define paintComponent to all applicable panels and pass the Graphics parameter to a separate method which does the drawing for you.
    class Component1 extends JPanel
       //blah blah blah - put your code here
       public void paintComponent(Graphics g)
          //insert setup functions here
          paintStuff(g);
       //more arbitary code
       public void paintStuff(Graphics g)
          //do your drawing here
    }And you would usually want to separate your UI components from the drawing so it doesn't intefere with the client's perception of the program. In other words, don't draw on the content pane, draw on a custom panel and add it to an appropriate part of the content pane.
