Bursting Analysis Report in OBIEE11g

Hi Experts
I have a report which I created in Answers and I need to burst this report based on one of the column like Profit center. There are about 10K centers and for some people I have to send report of 10 -20 Profit center for which they have access to.
This would be a single report and data is already filtered based on the login info - row level security.
How I could do that using Delivers in OBIEE11g. Do I need to include mail id in the database table and subsequently in the answers request.

Error While Opening Reports IN OBIEE11g

Hi Experts,
I am getting the below error while opening the Reports in OBIEE. OBIEE 11g has been installed on the linux box .
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
Error Details
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 27004] Unresolved table: "Test2". (HY000)

We have migrate the rpd , catalog and depolyed them on the new linux server from the windows server .All the services are up but while opening the reports it is showing the above error.

Another thing to consider is the data that your report contains. It's possible that the data within the report output contains special characters that are causing problems with the well-formedness of the XML.
I would look at this closely in a case where the reports were running fine and suddenly they stop. Especially if you have a pretty decent amount of DML traffic in the application.

How to supress zero values in a union report in obiee11g?

I have a union report using two subject areas in obiee 11g.
I have added the price column from the first sector area and dummy column from the second sector area.
I have added the parity column from the second sector area and dummy column from the first sector area.
Then i added result column to divide them.
I need to calculate the avarage for each column, but because of the dummy columns that return zero, the calculation is wrong.

It's myself harry and i solved this problem, since this problem occurred for me as i tried to update my repository.rpd file for more than 5 times because of the error that it reported to me in my previous post...
How i solved this error means, i deleted all the other .rpd files(out of 5 i deleted 4) and i made some changes in my rpd file in the administration tool and after that i tried to update my rpd in EM..
Once it updated, then i gave restart to apply recent changes, after that my system components tempt to work as of 100%...

Calulcating percentage in OBIEE11g

Hi gurus, We are having trouble calculating the percentage of two columns shown in our report in OBIEE11G. One of our dimension tables has a 1 or 0 flag and we are trying to find the percentage of records in the fact table with 1.
We can display the count of the each column individually but when trying to calculate a percentage by sum(rows in dimension flag)/count(rows in dimension flag) we either get a percentage of 0 or 100 because OBIEE is not dividing the two aggregates but instead dividing each value row by row. So it seems that OBIE11g does not divide the total of two counts but the divides the row value row by row.
When we define the dimension flag columns as aggregates in the business model and try to use these columns we get the error Query Failed: [nQSError: 14020] None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request. This was to try and force OBIEE to calculate the totals first (count of columns with flag 1/count of columns with flag 0) before performing the division.
There are no dimension hierarchies defined on either fact or dimension and there is a 1 to 1 relationship between the fact and dimension.
Can anyone assist?

You can filter on Product which ever you want.

Have the SMTP server configured by your admin and create agent privilege given to your role. Then Schedule an Agents to yourself/Testuser with the report to be sent to external user as its Content. Set up the Delivery Profile of the recipient. In the set up for email device - delivery profile specify the external email address. This might be useful

Regarding Versioning of OBIEE11g reports

I want to check the techniques fo report versioning in OBIEE such as using source control /within OBIEE11g . Can we integrate the source control with OBIEE 11g for report versioning . I know , it can be done for RPD .

Drill down report without using heirarchies in OBIEE11g

Can we create multiple column drill down report without using hierarchies in OBIEE11g?

Yes, It can be done, but for each drill level you will require one seperate report. Drilling can be achieved using OBIEE Report Navigation.
For eg. If I have to create a drill report which starts from Year and goes to QTR and then to Month level. That means I have to create 3 reports.
1. A year report which will have report data at year level (Consider Year, Product, Order_QTY and Order_Amt are the columns)
2. A QTR report which will have report data at Qtr level. This report will have Year column in filter section as IS PROMPTED (Consider Qtr, Product, Order_QTY and Order_Amt are the columns).
3. A Monthly report which will have report data at Month level. This report will have Year, Qtr column in filter section as IS PROMPTED (Consider Month, Product, Order_QTY and Order_Amt are the columns).
Then we can go to Yearly report and put the OBIEE navigation on Year column and our target report will be QTR report. Similarly in Qtrly report put the OBIEE navigation on QTR column and our Target report will be Monthly report.
This way you can impliment drilling without hierarchy.

OBIEE11g - Schedule Multiple Reports

Hi All,
I have been successfully able to schedule my analysis and my dashboards with OBIEE11g Agents.
Now, I have a set of 100 critical reports that I have to schedule. Is there a way to create one agent having these 100 reports?
How do I schedule 100 reports without creating 100 different agents ?
Any suggestions/advice will be highly appreciated.

Hi Swastik,
You would need to have a lookup on a table that had currency conversion values, then have an additional table that contains the username and country that they are in. You would then need to bring the country into a session variable via an initialisation block and then filter your report/lookup based on that.

Unable to View Data in OOTB OBIEE11g Dashboards/Reports

Hi,
We have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0. BIAPPS, Informatica and DAC for the implementation of Oracle Business Intelligence Application 7.9.6.3 in Windows 2008 Server.
Also completed the basic configuration of Oracle BI Repository Connections, Informatica server and Client configuration Steps and DAC configuration Steps.
When tried to view the OOTB Dashboards in OBIEE, the reports are throwing following errors. Please suggest us a resolution to make sure the OOTB Dashboards/Reports are up and running
Is there anything we need to do in the backend Database or something dealing with Full load using Informatica and DAC ?
The error shows that there is table or view missing/does not exist and do we need to dump the OOTB metadata(I am not sure) to Database so that the DB will have the tables ? If yes, please suggest me the process for achieving this ?
When tried to view the data and update the row count for a table in physical layer of the OOTB RPD, we are getting the same below message.
We just wanted to first view the data for the OOTB Dashboards/Reports and then proceed further with actual developmental activities involving the customizations and so on.
What configurations we need to re-check?
The reports are throwing following TNS Error:

Looks like RPD connection pool is not pointing to Warehouse database.
For any connection issues
1. Copy your tnsnames.ora to {Oracle_BI1}\network\admin directory & {oracle_common}\network\admin directory (only the former is needed as that is the ORACLE_HOME)
2. Or instead of tnsnames.ora source entry, use the full expanded tnsnames as shown below
(DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 172.16.66.173)(PORT = 1521))(CONNECT_DATA =(SERVER = DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME = orcl)))

Call Interface: Default (OCI 10g/11g)

Zoom bar error in OBIEE11g(version:11.1.1.5.0) in Graph view reports.

we are getting the following error message while trying to perform Zoom in or out option in the graph view reports in IE8 browser .
Error message:An error occured while processing your request.Please contact your site administrator.
Note:Its working fine in Mozilla Firefox browser,But my client using IE8 browser, Hence the issue .

I have exported ODBC path manually.

I noticed that in the moment that IDM is asking me if i want to save
and where to save, i wasn't logged in IDM, so i'm able to see only the
task that is executed with success and the list of users in the task

Format of the analytic reports changed in OBIEE11g after restart.

Hi all,
After restarting the BI server, the format of the reports changed.
The analytic reports header font sizes has been increased and the report is not showing in tabular view instead it is showing results as in a notepad.
What might be the issue which caused these changes?

as such we cant say it is an error from BI.....not sure what might be going wrong or is the tool acting upon.
Once bounce all services and look at it.

No need of changing any config files as such for that behaviour.....might be something wrong going with the BI tool.
Never i faced such issue as i was working on BI 11g
