I am running Reports 6.0 .
My Question.
1) I want to change the subject, add my own text in message box and attach the report generated from reports in pdf format, Mail to selected user automatically by calling the reports to be mailed from another report.
Now I am able to call report from another report using format trigger and generate report in pdf fromat and mail to users
I am not able to change the Subject and add Message text
Please suggest how I will be able to change the subject and add message text.

After a lot of frustration about Report-Server and the Mail function (does anybody know the the story about the try to use the Report-Server 6i with Microsoft Outlook?), i developed my own Report-Mail-Tool. Now i use the Report Server to create PDF-Files and my own Mail-Program (developed with Powerbuilder) to send the files (i can send mails in the case of an error also) - That was my BIG HELP.

check message tracking if those messages are actually scanned by IPAS, especial if you run a version lower than 7.5. 279kb is above the default threshold, so maybe your antispam scanner is not scanning them. I know this does not address the problem with the plugin, but just wanted to let you know.

I have to change the sender-Adress from Report-Mail. Can somebody tell me how I have to configure the sender-Adress. At the moment I get the sender-Adress oracle@<servername> when destype=mail.

You can specify the e-mail address in the parameter FROM.

How to Digitally sign a PDF report/Mail automatically?

Hi experts!
I have cron'ed shell script that runs a report (Oracle Reports 6i) and the output the report is a PDF document which i send it as an attachment to a mail recipient on my MS. Exchange server.
This is working fine!
Now, i wish to digitally sign either the message or the PDF document it with a Digital Certificate (from Verisign).
Can you please guide me on how this can be done? Should I do it at the Database level, Application server level or the OS level (sendmail)
[Assume i already have already received my certificate from Verisign]

From the error description, please make sure that all the services Exchange needed are running at first. What's more, I recommend you increase timeout for ECP and then check the result.

Bug report: Mail sends messages with empty bodies

Over the last year, I have experienced a particularly irritating bug in Mail.app at least a dozen times. I finally have a good idea as to what causes it.
The problem involves long email messages (often with attachments) that end up being sent with blank bodies (and no attachments). Even the copy in the "Sent" folder ends up blank, and several minutes or hours of work vanishes into thin air, not to be seen ever again.
I finally realized that this bug only occurs when sending mail through our work SMTP server while outside the work firewall, and only as a result of a certain sequence of events. Here is what happens:
When we connect to our work SMTP server from outside the local network and without going through the VPN, the SMTP server requires password authentication. If the current SMTP selection in Mail.app is the one that does not require authentication, the SMTP server rejects the message. At that point, Mail.app opens the email I am trying to send and brings up a modal dialog that says "Cannot send message using the server xxx.xxx -- The server response was: xxx@xxx relaying prohibited. You should authenticate first." The dialog also presents a drop-down list of SMTP server choices. I choose the password-authenticated version of the server and then click on "Use Selected Server" to send the message.
This works almost all the time, but on occasion it ends up sending a blank message! If I have a long email, particularly with attachments such as PDFs that are rendered in the body of the message, it takes a few seconds for the mail message to be rendered underneath the modal dialog box. Since I am used to this STMP rejection behavior, sometimes I am too fast to choose another STMP server from the list and click on "Use Selected Server" before the mail message is rendered on screen! The result, invariably, is a blank email message that gets sent.
I guess what is happening is that when the STMP server rejects the message and hands it back to Mail.app, the message gets copied into a buffer in order to be displayed on screen. Selecting another server and resending it immediately (before the message is copied into the buffer completely) causes the message body to get trashed.
I hope that this description is adequate for Apple QA folks to replicate and isolate the problem (and hopefully fix it). One solution (although not the most elegant one) would be to disable the "Use Selected Server" action until the message is copied into the buffer and rendered on screen.

You cannot count on Apple looking into this or even noticing it if you report it here, so I suggest you the same I suggested in the other thread, i.e. report it in one of the following places:

Scheduling of Report Mail it to concern User

Is it Possible to Send the reports on Mail on predifned Time . Eg If daily how much material is dispatch. I want to schedule this report at 5 PM every day .Per day wise.

Your Answer is quiet helpfull but in the new version that is SAP 8.81 PL04 there is schedule in Query Manager showing schedule just want to try this option also.

Report & Mail Merge

Hi All
I've a requirement to send a mail with Overdue Invoices for each customer. It must have a text section followed by a table with all the overdue invoices.
We've developed a Overdue Invoices Report in Answers, but couldn't find the way to break it, do the mail merge and send it to the customers that are not OBI users.
We're using the SA system subject area to store the mails of the customers.
Has anyone done this before?
Sorry for the basic question but I'm new on OBI.

You need to have two reports (one for the output to be sent) and another for the recipients list.
Venkat's post below should give you idea of what you need to do (Doesn't sound like you need SA subject area, but you can decide that for yourself.

Date Problem in Interactive Reports Mail

Issue is when I am sending mail through download, e-mail section of an interactive report. Mail is received on the mail server and but in its mail header send_date is not coming due to which our server is blocking that mail. How to send date as well in the header in oracle apex?

SSRS report mail subsription is failing.

I have one SSRS report which is deployed in my local report server. I need to activate email subscription for the same. I have given my outlook email address and SMTP server which is copied from outlook settings to Report configuration manager. Then I have
created a mail account and profile in sql server. I made the profile as public and default one. I have chosen basic authentication and provided my windows account and password for SMTP authentication. Port number is 25 which was given there as default.
SSL was not ticked. Then I have tried with the below sp.

Everything worked fine. I have got the mail also. Then I tried to create a mail subscription for the deployed report on
my report server. I have scheduled it also. But I'm getting error message. Then searched in net and read somewhere that we are supposed to use windows authentication for SMTP. Then I changed the mail account to use windows authentication for SMTP. Even then
also I'm getting the same error given below.
Failure sending mail: The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the
client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 Client was not
authenticatedMail will not be resent.
I have noticed another issue.
Because of the above error, I have chosen to use the secure connection (SSL) in the mail account. Also, SMTP authentication is Basic Authentication. I am not able to send email from database itself after checking the secure connection option. I
was able to send mail from database(by using the [proc dbo.sp_send_dbmail) when unchecking Secure connection option.
I'm getting the below error when running this query

Subscription reports - mail send failure

Hello All,
We have SCCM 2012 SP1 and SQL Server 2012 installed on the same box. The SQL reporting service runs with an domain account.
Unfortunately any reports with a subscription to an e-mail address are not sent. The error msg is "Failure sending mail. - The specified string is not in the form required for an e-mail address. Mail will not be sent"
I don't understand which string is meant. I don't see any error in the event log.
Could you please help?

You should have a look at the log file created in SQL reporting services, it might contain more detailed information. It could be issue with the SMPT port. I ran into this issue a few years ago -

Apple Problem Report + mail + LOUD Hard Drive noise

I get Apple's problem report - the screen you get when one of your Apple programs crashes - with Mail a couple times today.
I'm actually not that concerned why Mail crashed because I'm more concerned with the LOUD sound the hard drive makes (very similar to startup) when the Problem Report Appears. Is this normal? It seems really strange to me.
Any thoughts?

I would suggest posting about the disk noise in the appropriate hardware forum. Meanwhile, you could post the crash report here and maybe someone can make sense of it.

ZRS: Send report mail

Hello,
I 'm trying to send a report by e-mail. I have configured the SMTP setting on Configuration - Event and Messaging - SMTP Settings.
Also I have configured on Configuration - Reporting Services - Email notification settings with a valid sender and receipt addreses.
I logging on the Zenworks Report Server, select the report and click Send to - E-mail. I leave checked "used default settings" and Submit but NO e-mail is sent. I don't see any error, simply the e-mail message never appears.
I have tried to uncheck "used default settings" and specify all the addresses needed but the result is the same, nothings happens, no errors....
Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong, or how I can configure the e-mail notification report option??

more info, I continued doing tests and the only way that it works is if I schedule the execution of a specific report and send it by e-mail and specify manually all the information (uncheck used default settings).
If I do the same but leave checked "used default settings" I get an error SMTP 501 - Syntax error. I have configured the SMTP setting on Configuration - Event and Messaging - SMTP Settings with my smtp server and default port 25. Also I have configured on Configuration - Reporting Services - Email notification settings with a valid sender and receipt addreses.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or if someone is using this funcionality tell me how you configure it ?

Mail hangs when it receives a report that an e-mail could not be delivered.

Hi Guys :o),
One bug which is really bugging me is that every time I receive a bounced e-mail report, with a subject line containing words to the effect of:
"Undeliverable. Return to sender."
or:
"The message could not be delivered."
Mail is unable to pull any subsequent e-mails down from the POP server.
So I junk the report, and then I delete it.
However, lo and behold, the errant e-mail is INSTANTLY back in my Inbox, plus there's now AT LEAST one copy in my Mail Junk, and also AT LEAST one copy in my Mail Trash.
Round and round I go, junk, delete, junk, delete, but the errant e-mail refuses to go away, and Mail continues to be unable to pull any new e-mails down from the POP server.
Eventually, Mail just hangs, with a spinning disk.
Even a force quit and relaunch of Mail doesn't resolve the spinning disk.
The errant message just sits there, REFUSING to be deleted.
The only way to get round this bug is for me to go up to my POP server, delete the report, and then PURGE DELETE the report - on the POP server !
I then have to go in to my Mac, and go:
--> Users --> Home --> Library --> Mail --> Account --> Inbox, Junk, and Deleted
and then manually drag ALL copies of the report into the trash on the Desktop.
It happens so often (pretty much every day) that I've had to create a shortcut in my Dock which leads straight to the Account folder.
Mail has always been buggy under ALL versions of OS X, but this ongoing bug drives me crazy, mainly because there's NO logical reason for it.
Just because I receive an e-mail message from the Hotmail server, for example, which says that my e-mail could not be delivered, usually because the recipient's inbox is full, or because no such address exists, on paper, that's just another e-mail which Mail is pulling down from the POP server.
However, EVERY TIME I receive such a report, Mail hangs.
I'm reluctant to rebuild my Mailboxes, in case I lose any messages, but I will if you advise it.
Any workaround would be gratefully received.

Quit Mail, Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
