Reports on the 1.25beta bios for KT4 Ultra
Can anyone who has tried the new BIOS for the 6590 kt4ultra please post their findings here?
Features?
Performance?
Bugs?
FSB improvement with locked athlons?
More Bios settings?
etc.
Any information is greatly appreciated - we've waited a long time for this...
Thanks
BIOS 1.25 is a BETA BIOS, meaning it's unsupported by MSI. AFAIK, it might fix the Optical mouse LED stays ON even PC has powered off.
For those have PS/2 Optical mouse, please test this beta BIOS against this issue.

Can anyone tell me is there any truth behind this rumour from the amdforums:
http://www.amdforums.com/showindex.php?s=9b7768596eb912702f764e06ce763833&threadid=171700
Please tell me it's true....anyone?

and its all i know on the matter -
new bios for kt4?when will a new bios be released.
I think only MSI knows, and since MSI doesn't visit these Forums as they are user maintained u won't get any answer. But they usually update their BIOS'es on an monthly basis.-

I think there is a bug in the new ec bios for gt60 2OD(ver1513)
I have put a post on:
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=182144.0
The Post:
I have bought a GT60 2OD-063CN. I download the new ec bios from the official site , the version is 1513(the stock version is 16f4EMS1 ver 5.04)
And i follow the offical instruction and unrar the files and use ecwin.bat to update the ec.
Now it is the problem.
It seems if I use the ecwin.bat, then the system will use 16f4EMS1 ver713 which is in the 353x document.
After update the v713 ec, the touch function(fan, back light etc.) is misfunctioned.
And I manually use the 16f4EMS1 ver 513 ec which is in the 352x document to update, now it seems the touch function is worked again.
So I wonder what is the differences between the 2 ec bios and what is the mechanism for ecwin.bat to judge which ec should be used?
After all the auto "ecwin.bat" file will lead you into 353x and use the wrong ec.
PS: the system is the stock win8. I have take away the barttery to reset the ec.
It seems some people faced the same problem. I hope msi could correct the ec bios update.
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=181181.0Quote from: nex86;109588
I'm having the issue on my GT70 2PE that backlight is not working before the Steel series engine drivers is loaded.
The firmware that I have flashed is w8_1763EMS1.513 and it flashed 353x because SB_DetectToolWin32.exe reported errorlevel 3.
As I know the backlight keyboard does not light on until SteelSeries Engine is loaded. -

Hi
I have a question about BIOS flashing for the KT4-Ultra FISR board. I currently have version 1.1 of the BIOS and was told that I need at least 1.2 to recognize my AthlonXP 2500+ correctly. (It currently shows as a 1.1Ghz athlon with the FSB set to 100MHz * 11 multiplier)
Is it worth moving up to 1.3 or 1.4 instead of just 1.2?
Thanks
KT4-Ultra FISR (MS6590 v1.1)
AthlonXP 2500+ (barton)
Zalman Copper flower heatsink
512 MB DDR333 RAM
Powercolor Radeon 9700 Pro
Antec Soho 1080 case (430W truepower supply)I would have to guess BIOS may make a difference. Although XP2200+ and XP2500+ Barton both run at 1.83GHz, the BIOS may be confused as to the processor type if the Barton was released after the initial BIOS version. Only 2700+ and 2800+ were 333 FSB at the time of BIOS release maybe... then again, I am a useless tech... just a guess is all I have to offer.

Emailing Reports to the email address stored for the user in OID?
Hi
I have what seems like a simple enough question.
We have an Oracle Forms / Reports Application running on IAS 10.1.2.2.0 on Windows. We use Single Sign On for Forms and Reports. We generate reports from forms using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT.
I want to be able to generate a report and send it as an email attachment to the email addressed stored in OID for the SSO user running the forms application.
I can set the REPORT_DESNAME to be the recipient email address (as documented).
My question is do I have to query OID manually to get the email address (using DBMS_LDAP or whatever DB utility packages) and set REPORT_DESNAME, or is there a way that Forms (or Reports) can take of this automatically for me?
ThanksYou can go through portal to get your info by utilizing wwsec_api.person_info call or you can go after it using DBMS_LDAP. You have to do a bunch of work if you use DBMS_LDAP or DBMS_LDAP_UTL...like connecting, binding, getting a handle, etc. You ultimately can use DBMS_LDAP_UTL.get_user_properties.
Look here for more details. -
[ENVIRONMENT]
Product version - BI4.1 SP03
OS - Windows 2008 R2
CMS Database - Oracle 11g
Java Application Server - Tomcat7
[ISSUE]
Using the Upgrade Management Tool to completely migrate a BOXI3.1 SP3+FP3.6 to BI4.1 SP03. The reporting database from both BOXI3.1 and BI4.1 are the same and so is the database logon credential.
When viewing and refresh a migrated Crystal Report, it throws "The viewer could not process an event. The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect. [] ---- Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]" error in both BI Launchpad and "The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect" in scheduled job.
[STEPS TAKEN]
- Update the Database Configuration with the SAME Oracle database password in CMC and "The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect" issue goes away.
I search the SAP SMP and SCN forum and found no reference on this UMT and Crystal Report database logon problem. Hope any of you have seen this problem and share if there is an ADAPT for it.
Thank you in advance,
Jin-ChongHi,
The BI4.1 SP03 server and client and Crystal Report 2013 SP03 developer and Crystal Report for Enterprise 4.1 SP03 are all installed onto this Windows 2008 R2 server.
I am able to open the migrated report from CMS repository in Crystal Report 2013 SP03 developer and am able to refresh it with database logon password provided. After save it back to the Enterprise, the database logon password field for this report in CMC becomes empty so that I have to enter the database password and choose "Use same database logon as when report is run" when viewing and scheduling report.
What is interesting to me is that the UMT seems to migrate the report along the database logon password because I can see the encrypted password in the report database logon property in CMC. The workaround is to reenter the database logon password in the report database logon property in CMC.
With this said, there are hundreds of the Crystal reports and the workaround would consume lots of manual work by update each report's database logon password in CMC.
For other customers who have more crystal reports, I wonder if there is an automated way to update the crystal report's database logon password on BI4.1 or if this is an isolated incident on my new BI4.1 SP03 environment.
I run UMT in command line to perform livetolive migration, and my steps are listed below
cd "E:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\apps\upgradeManagementTool\jars\"
"E:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64\sapjvm\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx56g -Djava.library.path="..\..\..\..\win64_x64" -jar upgrademanagementtool.jar -internal_use_only_noversioncheck -responsefile LIVETOLIVEResponseFile.txt

Please Release the v2.12 BIOS for the G570
I don't know why lenovo still have the 2.09 bios up. My laptop came with 2.12!!! Am I wrong to think that the 2.12 is newer than 2.09 ??? Thats 3 update Lenovo haven't release if it's going up by .01. Anybody on the inside know whats going on?? Is lenovo no longer supporting the G570.
Here my screen shot
http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/pp108/aznbadboixxx/551f39fb.jpgaznbadboixx,
The support web releases the official web version of bios, whereas the new v2.02 you had was not a web release version. It was loaded into your machine during production after some updates being made to v2.09.
If there is no critical issues fixed in v2.02 (which is not yet web release version), the website will still use the previous official one.
Hope this helps.

Cleo

Correct FSB for KT4 ultra 6950
Hi, I have a KT4 Ultra 6950 v1.0 (it has SATA so I think it's the "FISR" version but I don't know, nothing on mobo)
A few months ago, the speed of my PC took a nosedive, and I wonder if somehow the FSB has been reset/mis-set.
It's currently 100Mhz. I ran Fuzzy Logic 4, and it topped out at just 103Mhz.
However, I understand the KT4 should handle 200Mhz.
The memory is all 2700 (166Mhz) (1gb+512mb at the moment, another 1gb on order from crucial)
The CPUs are running at 50 degrees, the HDD at 60 degrees.
I don't know if I should manually set the FSB to 166 in the bios or not, bit scared!
Below is the output from CPU-Z. Sorry if I should have cut bits out, I'm not too sure what's important and what's not...
Anyone have any advise as to what the FSB should be set to please? Either to overclock it, or simply to put it to the 'correct' value?
Thanks,
Toby

Unfortunately I don't know the OPN. It's not being reported by any of the half dozen CPU reporting programs I've tried, and I don't really fancy taking the cooling fan off to find it
However I did find out that my CPU is a Thoroughbred Athlon XP. I still don't know the speed, but the MSI CPU list shows that the FSB should either be 133 or 166
I tried using "Fuzzy Logic 4" to set the FSB to 133, but the PC just instantly rebooted. I could try setting it to 166, or setting it in the bios directly, but now I'm afraid I'll either blow it up, or it won't boot and I'll need to blank the CMOS, which I'd prefer to avoid.
Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated, thanks

Follow up to 1.3 BIOS on KT4 Ultra
Cured my two problems
1) Extra mouse pointer in games
2) Stuttering in games
How?
By going back to BIOS 1.2
Can only assume that BIOS 1.3 was rushed out without sufficient testing. It MAY fix IDE transfer problems, but on my system which is SCSI anyway it introduced the two problems above.
Definately starting to wonder if I should go back to Abit, this is my first MSI board, and probably my last, the way things are going.
KT4 Ultra
XP2600+ 333fsb
512mb Corsair XMS DDR 400 running at 333
Adaptec U160 SCSI
SB AudigyBIOS 1.25 is a BETA BIOS, meaning it's unsupported by MSI. AFAIK, it might fix the Optical mouse LED stays ON even PC has powered off.
For those have PS/2 Optical mouse, please test this beta BIOS against this issue. -
Raid BIOS Gone (KT4 Ultra-BSR)
I recently bought a Serial ATA Hard Drive wanting to install it on the raid controller. But when I went to enter the Raid Controller's BIOS FastBuild Setup (at boot-time), it never shows up.
I have the KT4 Ultra-BSR, and I can see the RAID Controller enable/disable option in the Integrated Peripherals. I have it enabled, but it NEVER displays the RAID bios at boot-up. This is the second KT4 Ultra I've had and I know I saw the RAID bios on the first one I had. I have the latest system BIOS installed (1.30).
Has anyone experienced this and/or know how to fix it? Is there a way for flash the RAID controller to possibly fix it? Did the entry to the setup change from whats in the manual (ctrl-F4)?
Any help is greatly appreciated. ThanksI've seen a couple other post like yours Shark. While that makes me feel a little more comfortable that other are having similar problems, I thinks mine's a little different. I don't ever remember seeing the RAID BIOS on this motherboard. I've tried turning it off and on in a row to see if mine would eventuall show, but I never see it.
Does anyone from MSI read these? I think something should be done. -
Could someone please point me in the direction of the SATA controller drivers for the KT4 Ultra(MS6950 I believe) mobo?
I downloaded what I thought were the correct ones but apparently I was wrong.
Thanks for you help!Hello.

Move down the list, I think it may be the second one. -
Hi there, just wondered if one stick of Twinmos 3200 512mb will work on this board? also will i have to ajust the FSB for my Xp 2400+? which is currently set at 133, thanks
Msi doesnt list that memory on there web site, but, that does not mean it will not work,i have corsair cms 3200 platn,it was not listed,i was able to use it at 400 fsb by setting the memory voltage up a little higher, but now i just keep it at 333,i seem to get the best results there or at least untill i can get a 2800 with a 333 fsb...but frankly all benchmarks ive done and seen says to run your memory the same front bus as your memory so it runs synchronosly with the proc insted of asynchronosl.by the way,the kt4 ultra bioswill alow you to set your memory bus at 400,333,266 and your proc at 166or 133.you can set them individualy.so that the memory can run at 400 fsb and the proc can run at 133 or 166 according to which proc you have see ya!! )

I/O BACK PLATE FOR KT4 ULTRA
Where can I get an I/O back plate for MSI KT4 Ultra?
ThanksThanks for the info Alifay.
I guess I'll e-mail MSI and see if they have a spare that they can sell me or something.
I bought the mobo from a buddy of mine, and yap, I got everything except the I/O plate, bec. he forgot to detach it from his Lian Li case & sold the case to some lucky person (who might not even need it)in EBAY.
Well thanks again Bud.

What exactly Deflater.HUFFMAN_ONLY does?
