REPORTS_PATH in the Registry

We're doing our tests on a Windows 2000 Server PC and I modified the REPORTS_PATH key in the registry to include the folder where my reports are stored. Now I wanted to modify the REPORTS_JVM_OPTIONS to fix an out of memory error (when running reports on a big Apache log) and I can't find either the REPORTS_PATH or REPORTS_JVM_OPTIONS keys in the Registry :-/ The servlet is still able to find my reports so it look like REPORTS_PATH is still somewhere but I can't find it in the Registry.
If I want to recreate both keys, in which folder do I need to create them ?

Pascal,
Each %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory contains a file named "oracle.key". Open it in a text editor and it will show you in which branch you would put your parameters, relative to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

    When I attempt to log on to I tunes I get the following message:
    "The registry settings used by the I Tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.
      This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please re-install I Tunes."
    To my knowledge no new software has been installed.  I have tried un-installing and re-installing I Tunes but I still
    get the same message.
    Can anyone offer any suggestions?  Do I need to download a new driver?

    I can get down as far as step 11 but it shows nothing about upper filters and when I type on "If the Upper Filters entry is missing follow these instructions" nothing happens
    Do you mean you can't see the instructions on what to do if there is no UpperFilters entry?
    If so, here's the relevant instructions for that step:
    On the right side of the Registry Editor window, right-click the UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.
    Right-click the empty white space within the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor window. From the shortcut menu, choose New > Multi-String Value.
    Name this new value "UpperFilters" (without the quotes). Then, right-click the newly created UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.

  • I'm having a problem with the registry and iTunes.

    Vista stopped seeing my DVD/CD drive the other day, so I went to the registry and deleted the high and low pass filters for the drive. This fixed that problem.
    Only problem now was that none of my programs would see the drive, so I had to reinstall all my burning software and such... except that iTunes, after reinstalling it 5 times, still will not see my drive.
    Any ideas or help? Thanks.

    Hi David-
    The advanced adjustments in the Highlights & Shadows tool were combined into the "Mid Contrast" slider in Aperture 3.3 and later. If you have any images in your library that were processed in a version of Aperture before 3.3, there will be an Upgrade button in the Highlights & Shadows tool in the upper right, and the controls you asked about under the Advanced section. Clicking the Upgrade button will re-render the photo using the new version of Highlights & Shadows, and the Advanced section will be replaced with the new Mid Contrast slider. With the new version from 3.3 you probably don't need the Advanced slider, but if you want to use the older version you can download it from this page:

  • Reading the registry from a .bat file

    I've searched a bit on web before asking and I apologies a head of time but my knowledge of .bat files is a little lacking. Currently I have a working .bat file I created, but was looking to adding something extra to it and just can't seem to find exactly
    what I need.. What i'm looking to do is at the top of .bat file I want it to read the registry here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IS_DEPT\Simage\HW\Platform
    Under Platform we either have 2 types LT or DT. (laptop or desktop)
    What I want to do is at the top of my bat file have it search this key. If it has the value LT I want it to continue on with the script. If the value is DT I want it to not run the rest of the script and go to :end
    If this is possible can someone provide me with the commands to put at the top of the script with also the IF commands to continue or go to :end

    Thanks for you reply but I'm still a little lost with the reply.
    What is the rest of the commands?
    I understand this will query the registry, but what about searching for "LT or DT" and the IF/GOTO Commands?
    reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IS_DEPT\Simage\HW\Platform
    I think my confusion is how to define LT or DT as the variable. I keep finding %errorlevel%  variable, but that seems to only define on (1) or off (0)
    Here's what I have so far and I dont' think it's correct.
    reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IS_DEPT\Simage\HW\Platform /f
    if "%ERRORLEVEL%" == "LT" GOTO HOME
    if "%ERRORLEVEL%" == "DT" GOTO NOOOOPE

  • How can I configure FireFox security setting globally for all users on a PC? Is there something I can do in group policies or throught the registry to insure all users have the same settings?

    Our Bank's core processor has rewritten their product to run in a web browser. Their browser of choice is Firefox 3.6. The specifications from our core processor specify specific security and settings parameters that must be adhered to by all users for their product to run properly. Is there a way to globally configure these settings via the registry or group policies to insure everyone who logs in to a given workstation opens Firefox with the same settings? Thank you for any assistance you can provide - Steve Gish, First Bank Kansas.

  • Vbscript RegRead function not behaving consistently and/or returning correct values when they exist in the registry

    Hello.
    I seem to be having a problem using the RegRead function within vbscript to return a simple value from the registry. When I run it on my workstation (windows 7 x64 sp1), it seems to miss certain registry values that are indeed there (specifically, I am looking
    for instances of "Adobe" in the displayName value of HKLM\Software\wow6432node\microsoft\windows\uninstall). However, when I run on a test VM, it returns the values fine. I am hoping someone might be able to explain this inconsistency and why it
    is happening.
    The code is very simple:
    On Error Resume Next
    if wscript.arguments.count < 1 then
    wscript.echo "usage: regread.vbs <hostname> <appname>"
    wscript.quit
    end if
    AppName = wscript.arguments(1)
    strComputer = wscript.arguments(0)
    const HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE = &H80000002
    Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    Set objReg=GetObject("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!//"& strComputer & "/root/default:StdRegProv")
    strKeyPath = "SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall"
    objReg.EnumKey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, strKeyPath, arrSubKeys
    For Each subkey In arrSubKeys
    'wscript.echo subkey
    InstalledAppName = ""
    InstalledAppName = WshShell.RegRead("HKLM\" & strKeyPath & "\" & subkey & "\DisplayName")
    wscript.echo vbtab&"DisplayName: "&InstalledAppName
    if instr(InstalledAppName,AppName) > 0 then
    wscript.echo vbcrlf&"found"&vbcrlf
    end if
    Next
    When I run "cscript regread.vbs remoteHost Adobe" on my local machine, it does not "find" any instance of Adobe within the registry of machine "remoteHost". However, when I run it from a test VM, it does find the existing instances
    of Adobe within the DisplayName value of the uninstall key of the registry, here is the output from both, first the non-working one, then the working test VM.

    Does anyone know why this might be happening? The only main difference is that the machine that the script does not work on, has visual studio 2013 installed.
    Please help

    Well I think we can agree that it is not supported remotely. Because while it did initially work remotely, it didnt behave consistently; that is, it worked on the VM, but not my desktop. That's the whole reason I created this thread. Sorry if you are confused,
    but I most certainly was not lying and not trying to troll the forum or whatever it is you are insuinuating. Chill out a little bit and maybe you might get that Microsoft MVP.
    I am trying to get you t understand why what you are saying is wrong.  You may have thought it worked but there were a number of things that make it impossible to actually work.
    You were enumerating a remote key.  You were using that key name with RegRead and it was looking up the local value.  That is why it could not find remote keys and values.  The local and remote machines will not match on all keys.
    The correct call is the "GetStringValue" of the registry provider because it is the only call that can read remote values. My point is that you were fooling yourself by thinking that it ever actually worked.  If anything it was just dumb luck
    that the keys would match.
    So maybe you weren't actually lying but you were surely foolingyourself and confusing us.
    Anyway - glad you fixed it and just remember to not mix calls like you did.  Also don't use On Error Resume Next unless you plan on test every call for an error.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • I received the following message when iTunes launches: "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's or DVD's are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning softwarre.  Please reinstall iTunes"

    Everytime I connect my iPod Touch (4th Gen) to my laptop, running Win 7 (64 bit) I get the message "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.  Please reinstall iTunes"  I have reinstalled iTunes several times and it has not fixed the issue.  I am running ver 10.2.2.12 of iTunes.  I HAVE NOT installed any other burning software to my laptop either.  I haven't tried uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing it yet.  Would that perhaps fix the problem?  I've read that many users have had issues with the new version of the software and I was wondering if that might be causing my issue.  I'd like to point out that iTunes seems to work after getting rid of the message, but I haven't tried to burn any CDs or put music from a CD to my laptop.  Any ideas on how to get rid of the annoying message?
    I also am having trouble hooking up with our other computers using  Homegroup.  I noticed quite a lot of people are having the same issue and hopefully they come up with a fix for that soon.
    Thanks in advance.

    I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
    iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes
    If you're still getting the error message (especially when you plug in the Touch), I'd check for a device filter confusion on the PC. (They can affect the connection of USB devices to a PC, as well as burning and importing CDs.) For that one, see:
    iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting CD issues caused by device filters

  • Search the registry for a Value, and then use the Value's data

    Hoping someone here can help me. I am attempting to find a binary value in the registry and I am having no luck so far.
    Here is what I currently have:
    $key = "HKCU:\software\microsoft\office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles\Outlook"
    Get-ChildItem $key -rec -ea SilentlyContinue | foreach {
    $CurrentKey = (Get-ItemProperty -Path $_.PsPath -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)
    if ($CurrentKey -match "001f6700") {
    $data = $CurrentKey.PSPath
    $data2 = Get-ItemProperty -Path . -Name "001f6700"
    echo $data2
    # $data3 = [Text.Encoding]::ASCII.getString($data2)
    echo $data3

    Finally got it working with this code:
    $x = Get-ChildItem HKCU:\software\microsoft\office -rec -ea SilentlyContinue |
    Where-Object {(Get-ItemProperty -path $_.PSPath) -match "001f6700"} |
    select -Property Property, Name, PSPath
    $y = Get-ItemPropertyValue -Path $X.PSPath -Name 001f6700
    for($i = 0; $i -clt $x.Count; $i++)
    [Text.Encoding]::unicode.getString($y[$i].syncroot)

  • When starting iTunes I continually get an error message " The registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."

    When starting iTunes I continually get an error message " The registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."  I have unistalled and reinstalled iTunes several times and have cleaned up the registry using a 3rd party Windows utility.  Any tips on removing this error message for good?

    I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
    iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes

    Can I uninstall existing iTunes without losing my media library?  and then install fresh to fix this problem?

    Hi there kweitkamp,
    You may find the troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.

  • I have a new hard drive and itunes and my computer (windows XP) no longer recognise my ipod. I also had the problem with the registry keys not being present but this has now been fixed. However i can no longer link my ipod up with itunes.

    When I first tried itunes with my new hard drive there was the problem with the registry keys but something also flagged up about needing a signed driver. Is this anything to do with why Itunes and my computer no longer recognises when my ipod is linked up? Whatever i try under 'devices' my ipod is never available to sync up. If anyone can help I would be most grateful.

    Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this has not worked. I didn't have quicktime to begin with so I don't know if that makes a difference? After following the instructions, I get the "registry keys missing" problem appear again (which I've subsequently fixed again) and then when I connected the ipod I got the following message - 'Device driver software was not successfully installed'.
    I've tried windows update but this doesn't do anything as '...the service is not running'.
    Any suggestions?

  • After recently installing itunes on my new PC running windows 8, the CD/DVD drives no longer works, gives a code 19 message. Seems itunes is impacting the registry of the DVD drive. What is best solution to keep running itunes

    After recently installing itunes on my new PC running windows 8, the CD/DVD drives no longer works, gives a code 19 message. Seems itunes is impacting the registry of the DVD drive. What is best solution to keep running itunes normally in the future & get the CD/DVD drive working again? if I delete the upper / lower registry keys what other functions are impacted? I see others say itunes asks for a reinstall...then same problem all over again! THX

    Have you revieved this support document?

  • Does the registry fix file "SubInACL" work with Windows XP?

    I have been reading many suggestions from the Adobe website as well as the flash player forum to try and fix the problems I'm having with flash player.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the flashplayer 10 software but get an error.  Then I read that 10 doesn't work with XP so I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling 9 but get an error.  So I thought I'd try the "SubInACL" program to fix the registry but I cannot find a folder name C:\Program Files\Wndows Resource Kits\Tools.  The Adobe TechNote doesn't specifiy if this program is for Windows Vista so I'm thinking that maybe it is and that's why I can't find the right folder.  Is my thinking correct?

    More questions:
    can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?
    Yes I can see the animation.
    what files do you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?
    Flash10h.ocx
    FlashInstall.log
    FlashUtil10h_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil10h_ActiveX.eve
    Install.log
    do you see Shockwave Flash object in IE8 Tools | Add-ons, and is it Enabled?
    No I do not see Shockwave Flash object in IE8 Tools/ Add-ons.  I have seen it in there before so I'm not sure where it went.
    Regarding SubInACL, this only helps in cases where you get an error during the ActiveX installation, that Flash10h.ocx could not be registered.
    ok, that's helpful to know.
    I was just reading another post by yongyoja heading "Flash Player 10.1.53.64 isn't working" and I have exactly the same issues.  The only way I can get Flash Player to work at all is to go back to my last system restore point when it was working some of the time and after I do a system restore then Flash Player is there working sometimes.  If I uninstall and try to reinstall it doesn't work.  Hope this helps.  Maybe we can all work together to figure this out.
