Reports Queue Scheduler
Hi ,
I am trying to use the reports queue scheduler to schedule reports , the scheduling parts works fine, but when I try to write the output to a network drive, it is giving me error saying " Error with I/O operation, unable to open the file"
Any help is appreciated.
~hari.
Are you running on IAS or locally.
If IAS I don't think Oracle can write to a network drive - what we do is to write to a Unix directory that Oracle can see and then samba share that out so that Windows explorer can access it

Portlet to access the reports queue manager
Is there a pre-built portlet that comes with Oracle9i AS Portal that will let me view the report job statuses in the report queue. I want to be able to view the report queue via a web browser, rather that thru the Oracle Reports Queue Manager.
In case you are still looking for information on this -- search
through here or metalink for information on the RW_SERVER_QUEUE
table. It does a fairly decent job of mirroring what's going on
in the report queue. Completed and scheduled jobs it handles
well, but (at least in Portal 3.0.8) the report server doesn't
seem to update this table frequently for jobs currently being
run. I'm debating right now whether to write a Java servlet to
monitor the real RWCGI60 output (which always seems accurate) to
get a better handle on what's really happening on the reports
server. (btw: Anybody else tried doing this yet?)

I have a problem running Reports Queue Manager and I am stuck.
When I schedule a job from the client, the program crashes with "Rwsxc60 Program performed illegal operation" and the job is terminated with the following erro :
REP-0110: Unable to open file
'C:\ORAWIN95\BIN\sr_otwrt.rep'.
REP-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
Is there any registry settings to be done. bcoz it works from the server, but also in server if i do not schedule the report from the local path i.e. 'c:\orant\bin' it gives the same error. What kind of privileges has to be set and how ?
Also how do I change the administrator name in Reports Queue Manager.
Any suggestions are most welcome.
Thanks in advance.
G.Venkat ([email protected])Not sure what the default password is but it is easily changed.
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_17/bi.1012/b14048/pbr_conf.htm#i1007074
It involves editing the report servers config file by puting your own username and password in there. if you set encrypted to "no", It will automatically be encrypted next time you restart the server. -
Reports Queue Manager - Status Information
Hi there,
I would like to know if you can get status information from the reports queue manager.
For your information: We are still using Forms/Reports 6i but looking forward to use 10g via web frontend.
1.) In detail I would like to control the 'number of jobs'. Our frontend (RWRQM60.EXE) only shows the first 990 (up to 1.000) entries, via 'queue => properties' I can see the total number of jobs.
Is there a way to get the number of jobs via SQL or by another programmatically way (we prefer .NET)?
2.) The reason why I need this information is because of a limit of 9999 reports in queue manager. After this amount of reports the report server raises a 'REP-0177: Error while running in remote server' and the 10.000 job will NOT be send to the queue!
Is there a way to expand the number from 9.999 jobs to more .. for example 30.000 jobs?
Thanks for your help ..
MichaelCurrently no, not easily. we intend to fix this for Reports 7.0.

Reports-Job-Scheduler: create job with startoption later: wrong date-format
Hi,
I test reports 11.1.1.2.0 (weblogic11 g) and try to start a report job with Reports-Job-Scheduler.
Startoption: later and date = 09:48 Jan 12, 2010
When I submit the job I get following Error:
REP-50006: Das Argument SCHEDULE ist in der Befehlszeile ungültig: 09:48 Jän 12, 2010
in english:
Rep-50006: argument Schedule is wrong in command line: 09:48 Jän 12, 2010
Why is Jän instead of Jan.
When I start the report in February then it works.
I defined also environment variables in basic configuration for the report server:
NLS_DATE_FORMAT DD.MM.YYYY
NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE GERMAN
NLS_LANG GERMAN_GERMANY.WE8ISO8859P1
I would be very pleased to get support.
Many thanks
AloisI created a SR and oracle support found a bug in EM.

Can you create report and schedule in EVDRE
Hi,
I was asked by someone that if it is possible to create report and schedule in one single worksheet? As you set report/schedule in workbook options for the file my assumption was its not possible. Is there any work around?
Also i was asked about mandate in evsnd. I havent come across that either. what is it?Hi,
Yes! You can create report and schedule in single work sheet. If you insert 2 different evdre's , one for report and other for schedule then use [Get only range|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75_nw/helpdata/en/47/b9a7ccae664edb9034c3579ebec486/content.htm] for report area.
Or using a single evdre also you can acheive this by selecting part of range not to send.
hope it works...

Max Instance of One DESKI Report for Schedule
Hi,
Can someone pls let me know how many Max Instance we can create for One DESKI Report for Scheduling.
Thanks in advance.
PrabhatJason,
Thanks for the info. The query builder o/p and the application o/p are the same. When this situation happened last time I just simply deleted those older instances from the history and left only the current one.
This has forced the query to return the only available instance, which is the current one.
My suspect here is that, the SI_ID of a new instance is smaller than the older instance...
for example,
Instance 1 - 10023
Instance 2 - 12344
Instance 3 - 9892
Is this possible?? Since I have deleted the older instances I have no way to confirm this case unless it happens again.
The BO documentation about SI_ID reads like this...
"This property is used to uniquely identify an object. The number is assigned at creation time, and is never changed until the object is destroyed. You should never hard-code this number, however, since if the object is destroyed the number may be assigned to another object. No two objects have the same ID, even if they are different types of objects; that is, you will never find a report that has the same ID as a folder."
As it claims that an ID can be re-used if the object is destoryed I assume that though the new ID will be unique there is no guarantee that it will be bigger than the previous instance of the same object.
But the problem is that I dont have a documentation proof to claim this hence asking help from the guru's here...

REPORT GETS HUNG WITH THE REPORT QUEUE SHOWING THE STATUS OF OPENING
I have installed Oracle 9ids on windows 2000 platform. This installation is part of the oracle clinical installation process.
The installation went on fine except few problems during generating reports. I am able to generate report but as soon as any one of the report fails it stops all the subsequent reports . The failing report has the status of "Opening" in the report queue manager whereas all the subsequent reports get stuck with the status of "Firing before trigger" status in the report queue manager.
Has anybody encountered the same problem or anything similar... if so, pls hlp...
Regards,
VenusI tried this Gill, but result is bit different :-
Seems some little modifications are needed. Report should be displayed like the below one where it says how many times the same Task is associated with the same incident. Eg. Task 'TASK_CIRCUIT_RESOLVER' is associated with the incident 'INC000000001434' 4 times. 'IPCG Diagnostic Template' is associated with 'INC000000000943' 2 times. Similarly for other records.
But I really thankful to you for giving me the logic proceed further. I tried '=RunningCount([Task Name]; Row; ([Task Name]; [Incident ID]))'. It gave me desired results. :-
But the only thing that needs to be done is to bring the single Task associated with the Incident..
Thanks,

Package Configuration via SQL Server For a Reporting Queue
The scenario is a reporting queue for a web application. Currently when a user queues a report it stores the parameters in a table by queue ID. When that report is set to run the database creates a dtexec command with all the parameters. We use this
method for transferring the values the user selected to the SSIS packages.
I have used SQL Server package configurations before but they are usually a single table with a distinct ConfigurationFilter column. Is it possible to take the standard table layout for the SQL Server package configuration and add another column, say
QueueID. We send the QueueID to each package at run time and use this value to filter the table to the configuration specific to that report? Here is a better break down of the current process:
1. A user goes to the web application and selects a report/parameters.
2. This will add data to [QUEUE] and [QUEUE_PARAMETERS] tables associated by the QUEUE_ID
3. The server has a windows service which looks for reports in the [QUEUE] table in pending status and gets the next one available and calls a stored procedure with that QUEUE_ID.
4. The stored procedure puts together a dtexec command through xp_cmdshell which contains all the user parameters from the [QUEUE_PARAMETERS] table.
The purposed process is to replace the self made [QUEUE_PARAMETERS] table with the package configuration table. This means we would only have to send the QUEUE_ID via the dtexec command and not all the other parameters. The problem is that if
I add QUEUE_ID to the package configuration table I am not sure how I would reference a specific QUEUE_ID from the SSIS package configuration dynamically. There does not appear to be an expression that can be applied to the package configuration in SSIS
which means the relationship must make the ConfigurationFilter field unique, even though it is not a primary key. -
Assymetric report(input schedule) in SAP BPC
What I mean!?
I want place in row expansion two dimension. Connection between members of these dimensions i described on example 1.
I would like to build report(input schedule) like in example in analytical systems it call assymetic report. By means standart functional I can achieve only example2.
Any suggestions will be appreciable.
Regards
Example 1
Division1
--- Cost1 100
--- Cost2 200
Division2
--- Cost3 200
--- Cost4 300
--- Cost5 100
Division3 Cost6 500
Example 2
Division1
---Cost1 100
--- Cost2 200
--- Cost3
--- Cost4
--- Cost5
--- Cost6
Division2 Cost1
--- Cost2
--- Cost3 200
--- Cost4 300
--- Cost5 100
--- Cost6
Division3 Cost1
--- Cost2
--- Cost3
--- Cost4
--- Cost5
--- Cost6 500Vijay,
you can achieve this with a single evdre saved as an Input schedule...
couple of pointers
1)if you do not want to have the col names changing with a change in current view......put a NOEXPAND for the TIme dimension in the expansion range(where you have SELF,DEP etc)
2)for the report part....use getonlyrange to have it pulled from the DB instead of user entering data...
go to helpsite for the exact usage of NOEXPAND and GetOnlyRange..play around enough...i'm sure you'll figure it out!!!!
hope it helps.... -

How to install the Report Queue Manager alone without the Developer suite
is it possible to install the Report Queue Manager alone without the Developer suite...
i want to install it in the clients machine... please if you have any idea...
thanks for the help...I use a product called No Machine. http://www.nomachine.com/download.php which is a client which allows you to connect via a graphical interface remotely. Lots of people also use VNC, if you do this you may need to install the VNC server option on the HPUX box, then connect via the VNC client. You should really talk to your unix administrator how they want to do it.
If you have access to the HP machine do you know if it is started in graphical mode? If so you should be fine. It will require this mode.
Also as the root user us will need to execute the command
xhost +this allows user to remote connect to the UNIX box in graphical mode.
When this starts up you can start a terminal session.
you will need to set the display for the user that will start the install.
DISPLAY=:0.0make sure that the command
echo $DISPLAYreturns
*:0.0*everything should go from there.
Failing this you can do the silent install, refer to the installation guide for the options there.
cheers
