  • Configuring Report Server after DNS change

    Hello everyone,
I am encountering the following problem:
We have a Sharepoint 2013 server with Reporting Service integrated mode. Everything went fine. Now I have changed the DNS in the alternate access mapping. After that, when users want to create a new report (over the new URL) by opening Report Builder in Sharepoint
it won´t open. The error message is talking about an authentification problem 401 and System.Deployment.Application.DeploymentDownloadException (unknown subtyp).
Can anyone help me solving this issue?

  • FRM-92050 error when trying to open form after switching to HTTP mode

    Hi all,
Yesterday, I installed Oracle Applications 11i on Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 and forms were working correctly in the default mode, which is native (socket). Following steps 4 and 5 in [Doc 201340.1|https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:6398415066875997204::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,201340.1,1,1,1,helvetica], I enabled HTTP mode, and now my forms are not working. When I open a form now, I get this error:
FRM-92050: Failed to connect to the Server: /forms/formservlet:-1
    Details...
    Java Exception:
    java.io.IOException: Negative content-length from http://...
I've searched MetaLink and the forums for this error and all the results I found deal with HTTP headers or cookies being corrupted, usually by an intermediate networking device (web proxy, web cache, SSL accelerator, etc.). I am not using anything of the sort - the client is connecting directly to the Oracle server.
I checked the Apache error log and this is what I see:
[Thu May 14 09:10:28 2009] [error] [client 10.11.1.114] client denied by server configuration: /work/oracle/viscomn/java/java

I don't like the look of those "client denied by server configuration" messages. What's also odd is that the two files referenced by those messages do not exist on the file system:
    [oracle@gen1-cs49 logs]$ cat /work/oracle/viscomn/java/java
cat: /work/oracle/viscomn/java/java: No such file or directory

Any ideas? Are there any other logfiles I should be checking?

First, login to System Administrator responsibility, then navigate to Concurrent > Manager > Administer > Processes > Internal Manager LogAh, OK - I was able to open the form and I see a table of managers and services and whatnot, and I see an entry for "Internal Manager", but I don't see any way to view the log. I even tried opening the details of the "Internal Manager" entry and the only button there is "Diagnostics".
Search for VIS_*.mgr -- Sorry for the typo!Ah, that would explain it. Here are the contents of the correct logfile:

  • Moved report server to new machine with all old settings

    Dear all,
I am going to moved to new server machine for SSRS and i have 200+ reports ,,
i have configure report server in new machine but reports configuration pending
i thought i would need help of others to do this because i have a quetion? that
How can moved my 200 reports to new machine with all configurations includes 40 subscriptions , and much more
    with parameter values setting ??
is there simple way?? rather than doing one by one ..
like i just copy mu old report server to new report server..
    Help me please ??
    Dilip Patil..

    Hi Dilip,
After testing the issue in my environment, we can try to use the RS.exe utility to execute a Reporting Services RSS script that copies content items and settings from one SQL Server Reporting Services report server to another report server.
To achieve this goal, please refer to the following steps:
using the RS.exe utility Download the script file from the CodePlex site
Reporting Services RS.exe script migrates content to a local folder, for example c:\rss\ssrs_migration.rss.
Open a command prompt with administrative privileges.
Navigate to the folder containing the ssrs_migration.rss file.
Run the following command to migrate contents from the native mode Sourceserver to the native mode Targetserver:
    rs.exe -i ssrs_migration.rss -e Mgmt2010 -s
    http://SourceServer/ReportServer -u Domain\User -p password -v ts="http://TargetServer/reportserver" -v tu="Domain\Userser" -v tp="password"
Besides, if the destination report server is SharePoint mode, we can also try to use Reporting Services Migration Tool to achieve your requirement. For more details, please see:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn600370.aspx
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Random 401 errors - Kerberos + Reporting Server

We have a portal with Reporting Server in SharePoint mode and deployed our reports to SharePoint. Reports run in integrated security mode, we configured Kerberos. (Reporting server configured as RSNegotiate,
    added SPN's, etc.)
Everything seems to be working fine.
However, if two users access the same RDL at the same time (just opening the RDL from the Document library), the second user can get a HTTP/401 from SharePoint, showing the default SP2010 error page with correlation ID and so on. No errors in the ULS log.Error
    disappears after refresh.
This error is always showing up when Kerberos was not configured correctly. In this case no error in ULS or event log.
If we configure Reporting Server as RSKerberos instead of RSNegotiate, we don't get a 401, but the report of the other user! So,user A has permissions on report X, opens it. At the same time user B without permissions opens report X and sees exactly the
same as user A! So, this is a security hole if we configure it as RSNegotiate.
No proxy server is used. We changed EnableAuthPersistence to FALSE, just in case.
Anyone can point me in the way where to look? The user credentials / Kerberos ticket seem to be cached by SharePoint.

Hi Stacy, thanks for your reply.
I tried all different combinaties of those settings, but nothting solves the problem. The fact that I am possible to see anyone else his reports, is a big security hole, no matter how I configure it, right?
    If I configure RSWindowsExtendedProtectionScenario
to Direct, I get HTTP/401 all the time. Any other settings changes nothing, still one HTTP/401 when 2 users access report at same time (AuthenticationType = RSNegotiate) or 2 users see each other's report (AuthenticationType = RSKerberos).
It seems indeed something gets cached, but I have no idea how to fix it. Do you, or anyone else, know where to look now?

  • Report Server Vs Reports Engine

    Hi,
Could someone explain the difference between report server and a report engine (advantages vs disadvantages)?
What does lifes remaiming means on a reports engine?
On a 100+ user system, which is better, mulitple reports servers or higher reports engine setting?
    Thanks
    Edited by: 913146 on 08-Feb-2012 02:35

    Hi,
About engLife, you can get the details from the below link.:)
You will also get the information of other report server parameters
    http://docs.oracle.com/html/A9210201/pbr_tune.htm#1005700_
Difference between report server and a report engine
Report engine is a part of Report server..When ever a report server starts then the report engine gets initialized and gets available at the same time.
If Report server is down,Report Engine also goes down.
which is better mulitple  reports servers or higher reports engine setting?
    Now consider this example,
If you have set you Max and Min engine to 3,
Now assume,3 users have simultaneously sent request to execute a report.
These 3 request will be handled by 3 engines available in the report server.
Now in between this,if the 4th user tries to execute another report..since all the engines are full, this request will be in the queue and will be executed once any report engine gets free.
Multiple report server will be helpful,As the load gets balanced between different report servers.
    Regards
    Fabian

  • Report not run inexplorer and report server not start

    sir
i install dev suit 10g and
    1. create new form and test that run in explorer
    2. create report and test in report builder that run and give right result, but when i test in explorer that not run and no error and report server OC4J not start i try but window appear and hide
please give me idea how run report in explorer

The normal procedure for the Developer Suite is:
    1. Start OC4J instance via Windows Start menu.
    2. Run a report:
    http://127.0.0.1:8889/reports/rwservlet?module=....
    That doesn't work?
Can you see the in-process report server?
    http://127.0.0.1:8889/reports/rwservlet/showenv?
Or errors in the job queue?

  • Error Message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control.  I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control.  I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly.  I am
    getting an error message.
Am I suppose to use an .rdlc file rather than a .rdl file?  Does the web server configuration need to use a certain account?
I am getting the following error message:
The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.
The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

    Hi bucaroov,
The error "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found." means the ReportServerURL configured in the ReportViewer control is invalid.
Please follow these steps to solve the issue:
    Logon the Report Server machine.
Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
Copy the Report Server URL from 'Web Services URL'.
Logon the application server(in this case, it is the server that host the web page), check if we can use the URL we got from step 3 to access the Report Server. If so, please replace the ReportServerURL in the ReportViewer control with this URL. If it is
not available, could you please post the error message.
Additionaly, we don't need to provide the extension for a server report. The ReportPath should be like: /<reports folder>/<report name>

  • How to connect SharePoint 2013 and Reporting Server - SQL Server 2008 - in native mode

    Hi,
We are running Report Server on a SQL Server 2008 environment in NATIVE mode.
We just installed a SharePoint 2013 environment. The SharePoint roles are installed on a single server and we are using a seperated SQL Server 2012 server.
The goal: Display reports created on the Report Server in SharePoint 2013.
The problem: I cannot get the two environments connected.
I've read a dozen or more blogs but are currently more confused then before.
What are the steps I need to take to connect the two environments?
What options do I have in displaying the reports in SP2013 - do the reports need to be on the Reporting Server or can I add them to a document library... or are there other options?
    Thnx!

    Hi Sander,
Thanks for posting your issue, Have you activated required SharePoint 2013 features in your site collection? also, Install Report builder Model in SharePoint 2013.

  • SQL Server 2012 Report Server mode is blank?

Hi, I have configured SharePoint 2013 with SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2012
with complete features on the same server.
But when I checked Report Server mode under Report Service Configuration Manager it’s
showing blank means Report Server mode neither in native mode nor in SharePoint integrated mode.
    What is the issue?
    I want
Report Server mode should be in SharePoint integrated mode.

You need to install the Reporting Services - SharePoint feature from the SQL Server installation media onto the SharePoint server. You then need to start the Service Instances in Manage Services on Server and create a new SSRS Service Application in Manage
    Service Applications.

    How to solve this problem?
    Thanks,
    Thangakumar

    Hi Thangakumar,
In Reporting Services Web service, there are two endpoints available for managing objects on a report server, ReportServer2005 and ReportServer2006. The
ReportService2005 endpoint is used for managing objects on a report server that is configured for native mode. The ReportService2006 endpoint is used for managing objects on a report server that is configured for SharePoint integrated mode. From you description,
your Reporting Services runs in native mode, but ReportService2006.asmx is used for SharePoint integrated mode. If you need to call Reporting Services Web service in native mode, please change the address to:
    http://<serverName>/ReportServer/ReportService2005.asmx
If you need to call Reporting Services Web service in SharePoint integrated mode, please change the address to:
    http://<Server Name>/<Site Name>/_vti_bin/ReportServer/ReportService2006.asmx
