I facing some problem with 9iAS ver: 9.0.4.01 like report source path. when i have configure Form and Report service so every thing work properly but only report not running on browser but i changed path on menu plsql routine as same ( test report path) for running reports run properly
kindly reply me soon

You have to set REPORTS_PATH environment variable. Depending on your OS, you can set it in the registry (Windows), or in reports.sh script (Unix/Linux).

  • Crystal ActiveX Runtime Lib: Change text data source path at run time.

    We have some PCs running Crystal Reports 10 and some running CR 9 and 8.5. For each PC, we set up a System DSN ODBC data source (in Control Panel - Administrative Tools) for pulling data from text files to
    generate reports.
    Recently we wrote some routines (see the Visual Basic example at the
    end of this message) to change the path of the data files at runtime.
    According to the Crystal Reports Technical Reference Guide, we may use
    the method LogOnServer() of an Application object or an DatabaseTable
    object. However, we find that this does not work: the PrintOut()
    method only pulls data from the default path as configured for the
    System DSN, not from the path passed as the third parameter of
    LogOnServer(). It does not return any error message.
    We have also tried to use SetTableLocation() method, and it still does
    not work.
    Would any experts examine our code below and advise what we are missing? Thanks.
    For the following VB example, we have:
    System DSN Name: AP_WORKSHEET
    Driver: Microsoft Text Driver
    Database Directory: D:\0ood2 (i.e. the default path)
    Crystal Report Document: D:\3g\run\Vision\apcyto\Reports\crBlockWS.rpt
    (Which specifies that the data source text file name is BlockWS.txt)
    Purpose : We would like to read the data source text file from
    D:\0ood1 instead of the default path.
    Following is the code of the VB macro:
    Sub test()
    Rem In this version of the subroutine, we call
    Rem DatabaseTable.LogOnServer() and "Rem"ed out
    Rem Application.LogOnServer() and SetTableLocation().
    Rem We have un"Rem"ed each of them and "Rem"ed others and try to run.
    Rem In all runs, data are pulled from the default file
    Rem D:\0ood2\BlockWS.txt instead of D:\0ood1\BlockWE.txt.

    For VB macros, the problem exists in all of CR 8.5, 9 and 10. However,

    How to change the data source
    This example demonstrates how to change the data source from native Access to an OLEDB (ADO) data source by using the ConnectionProperty Object, as well as how to change the table name by using the Location property of the DatabaseTable Object. CrystalReport1 is connected to the xtreme.mdb database found in the \Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Crystal Reports 10\Samples\En\Databases folder. The report is using the Customer table. A copy of the Customer table is added to the pubs database on Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Application source path

    Hi, i need to find CM12 application (deployment type) source paths. select ContentSourcePath from fn_ListApplicationCIsWithLatestTime(1033) returns empty values in my environment.
    I tried Select name,pkgsourcepath from v_package and i does return applications data as well but pkgsourcepath is empty for applications as well.
    Check powershell cmdlet's but couldn't see content location in get-cmdeploymenttype.

    I think the data can be also exported from the xml data that's stored in the database, more info on that here:

  • ZFD App distribution, source path and fs rights...

    I am encountering an issue, where it seems that the only place you can
    specify the SOURCE_PATH variable for a ZFD app distribution is via the TED
    policy...
    Whenever I try and specify an application specific SOURCE_PATH (i.e. on the
    golden app) I get the following error reported in the dist TED.LOG:
    'the source path %SOURCE_PATH% is invalid. Make sure the "SOURCE_PATH"
    variable value is defined in the Tiered Electronic Distribution policy, and
    that the policy is associated with the Distributor objects parent container.'
    I understand that you can reference subscriber specific variables to set
    the destination folder and substructure within the distribution object, but
    cannot seem to set an application specific SOURCE_PATH on either the app or
    distribution object - it just wants to use the policy based value, which
    can only be set once for the distributor...
    Is it not possible to set an application/distribution specific value? And
    if not, how does the transfer of Common->File System Rights work?
    I'm sure I must be doing something wrong/approaching this the wrong way!
    Please help if you can!
    Many thanks
    David

    The actual issue is that the SOURCE_PATH macro IS NOT modified when
    distributing MSI based apps, however this works fine for snapshot style
    apps... For whatever reason the distributor treats MSI based apps and
    trad. app objects differently. If you try and 'gather' an MSI based app
    with the SOURCE_PATH variable used in the Package Source List, whcih HAS
    been defined in the Common Macros, then it insists the variable in invalid...
    As for the rights, the best way I've found is to give the rights to an
    associated group and maintain the group through the distribution. i.e.
    mirror structure and maintain associations. If you do this then rights ARE
    assigned to the distributed group object

  • Crystal Report Source is MS SQL Stored Procedure Causes Login Popup

    My environment is this:  Visual Studio 2010 with CRforVS_13_0_9 installed.  MS SQL Server is source for all report data.  I use three different databases for all my reports.
    I have a number of working CR reports that work fine in IDE and at runtime.  However, one report works in IDE report designer Main Report Preview but does not work at runtime.  Instead, it pops up the Database Login dialog box.  This particular report is the only one that I have that uses a Stored Procedure for report source data.  The following code is used for all reports.  Can someone please help me to identify what is causing this anomaly?
         ' _Options contains parameter name and value pairs, if any
         Dim oReport As New ReportDocument()
         Dim FullReportName = "MA_CustomerUsage"
         oReport.Load(FullReportName, OpenReportMethod.OpenReportByDefault)

         If _Options.ParameterList IsNot Nothing Then ImplementCRParameters(oReport)
         With CrystalReportViewer
              .SelectionFormula = _SelectionFormula
              .ReportSource = oReport
              .Zoom(zoomPageWidth)
              .ShowParameterPanelButton = False
              .ToolPanelView = ToolPanelViewType.None

                    oFieldDef.ApplyCurrentValues(oparamFields)
                Next
         End Sub
         Private Function ScanInvenConStrSetting(ByVal Src As String, ByVal DBName As String) As String
                Dim MyDB As String = String.Empty
                Select Case DBName.ToUpper
                    Case "Database1".ToUpper
                        MyDB = Global.My.Settings.Database1ConnectionString
                    Case "Database2".ToUpper
                        MyDB = Global.My.Settings.DatabaseConnectionString
                    Case "Database3".ToUpper
                        MyDB = Global.My.Settings.Database3ConnectionString
                End Select
                Dim ndx1 As Integer = InStr(MyDB, Src, CompareMethod.Text) + Src.Length
                Dim ndx2 As Integer = InStr(ndx1, MyDB, ";", CompareMethod.Text)
                If ndx2 = 0 Then ndx2 = MyDB.Length
                ScanInvenConStrSetting = Mid(MyDB, ndx1, ndx2 - ndx1)
         End Function

    Check what else is different with the report:
    1) Connection type (ODBC vs. OLEDB, vs. Native, etc)
    2) Check for subreports
    3) Check that the report uses the SQL Native 10 Driver
    Enable the report options "Verify on 1st refresh" and "Verify stored procedure on 1st refresh".
    Comment out the db logon code as well as the parameter code and let the report prompt. Does that work?
    If it does, add the db logon code but leave the param code commented out. Does that work?

  • CRVS2010 Beta - Error: No valid Report Source is available

    I am new to using crystal reports in .NET so any (un-jargoned) help is much welcomed and appreciated.
    I am implementing an web application on a Windows XP machine using VS2010 and have downloaded and installed the CR4VS2010 beta 2 and the CRforNET40_x86.  All installed OK with no errors.
    I have embedded a crystal report viewer into my web page and have populated a dataset (myDS) successfully from my SQL server connection earlier in the code.
    The report (stoppages.rpt) is an untyped report stored in a separate folder and has 2 datetime parameters to pass in.  When I run the web app it runs fine until the parameter boxes appear - I enter 2 valid date values into the parameter boxes when I hit OK I get an error - No valid report source is available.
    My code is shown below - I have searched other forums and it was suggested to put in the session.add part but the error occurs with or without this bit in...
    Please help - newbie and desparate! Thanks
    Dim myReportDocument = New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()
                myReportDocument.Load("C:\Reports\stoppages.rpt")
                myReportDocument.SetDataSource(myDS)
                Session.Add("Report", myReportDocument)
                crvThisReport.ReportSource = myReportDocument

    Hi Ludek,  I tried adding
    <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
      <supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/>
    </startup>
    to the config file but it didnt resolve the problems.
    However I think I have found a work-around solution to setting the parameters programmatically rather than use the crystal report viewer pop-up boxes.  I am posting my code to help anyone else who might be experiencing the same problems:
    Dim myReportDocument = New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()
    myReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath(strRptPath))
    myDS.WriteXml(Server.MapPath(strXMLPath), XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema)
    myReportDocument.SetDataSource(myDS)
    myReportDocument.Refresh()
    myReportDocument.SetParameterValue("DateFrom", #9/1/2010 6:35:00 AM#)
    myReportDocument.SetParameterValue("DateTo", #9/8/2010 6:35:00 PM#)
    crvThisReport.ReportSource = myReportDocument
    DateFrom and DateTo are the parameter names within my crystal report.
    It seems to be working fine, it stops the crystal report viewer from displaying the parameter pop-up box which stops the error occurring.  However, the error still occurs when you want to interact with the report in other ways, ie page navigation, group tree navigation.  It still allows me to print, export and zoom in and out, so I will have to disable some buttons and features until this error is resolved - the search continues!
    Thanks for all your help and advise.

  • Data Source path in Pivot Table changes to absolute on its own

    Hello.
    I have a .XLSX file, that was created long time ago (I don't even know in which Office version, but definitely not 2013), and maybe even was a .XLS file at first.
    So it's a 4 MB file with 16 Sheets and 8 Pivot Tables.
    All of the Pivot Tables use other sheets from the same file as Data Source.
    Data Source for some of them look like this: 'Sheet3'!$A:$E
    Everything is fine when I save the file, and open it from saved file.
    But as soon as I try to move the file elsewhere, or rename it, or email it - all Data Source paths change to something like this: '\Users\Sergii_Litnevskyi\Desktop\New folder\[FileName.xlsx]Sheet3'!$A:$E
    And it happens with all Pivot Tables. The problem is that it links to an old file path, where the file does not exist anymore. And it links to an external file, which is not what I want.
    If I Save As and select different path and filename - then it works fine. So it's a workaround for renaming and moving files, but not for sending them to other persons.
    I've read some threads, and people recommend disabling "Save external link values", but it does not help. It is already turned off in my office, but it keeps acting weird.
    So what I need is: Save the file, close it, rename it, move it to other place, send it over email as attachment. And then I want to have the same Data Source path in my PivotTables as I had before I saved the file. How can I do it?
    My Office version: Microsoft Excel 2013 (15.0.4454.1503) MSO (15.0.4517.1005) 32-bit

    Hi,
    According to your description, I suppose the issue may be caused by some reason.
    Do you link the outside data source?
    I think if the file moves the file elsewhere, or renames, or email,
    data source paths can’t be change.
    But, your data source paths add the absolute path.
    Do you link the outside data source?
    I recommend you zip the file and send it as Email attachment.
    If the issue exists, you may save as it in a new name and test it in another computer.

    I am pretty sure that I don't have any external links in the document.
    However, even if I did - why would it change Data Source path for all of the Pivot Tables, when I did not request it?
    I tried zipping it and sending to other person over email, but he got the file with changed data source paths.
    I can even record a short video to show what happens.
    Actually, I just did it. You can see the video here: http://screencast.com/t/qMBild3ck9b
    It is rather big - 23.8 MB.
    Let me explain what I showed there:
    I opened my original file. I showed that there are Pivot Tables, whose Data Sources are in the same file, on various other sheets.
    I showed this for all of the Pivot Tables in the document.
    I saved the file using Save As in a different folder and under a different name (TEST.xlsx).
    I then opened that saved file to show you that it is fine, and the Data Source path for one of the Pivot Tables is the same as it was in original file. It is the same for all of the other Pivot Tables.
    Then I closed, and simply renamed the file to TEST123.xlsx.
    Opened it, and first thing wrong - Security warning.
    Then I got ‘Cannot open PivotTable source file ….’ messages. And, as I showed, now all Data Source paths have been changed to full paths of the file, that was created by Save As (TEST.xlsx) from original file.

  • Error: The report source could not be retrieved from the state object.

    I have been trying to create a report in a JSF page. The relevant parts are below:
    Inside the JSP page, this is the code:
                  <jsp:useBean id="MyBean" class="com.nm.facade.rto.POJOViewerBean" scope="session" />
                    <jsp:setProperty name="MyBean" property="reportLocation" value="Report1.rpt" />
                   <v:reportPageViewer reportSource="#{MyBean.reportSource}"
                                           displayToolbarPrintButton="true"
                                           printMode="ActiveX"
                                           zoomPercentage="100"
                                           displayToolbarExportButton="true"
                                           displayToolbarRefreshButton="true"
                                           viewerName="My Viewer"
                   ></v:reportPageViewer>
    In the backing bean, this is the relevant code:
        public Object getReportSource() throws ReportSDKException
            if (propertiesChanged || reportSource == null)
                propertiesChanged = false;
                if (reportLocation == null)
                    throw new RuntimeException("The reportLocation property must be set before a report source is retrieved");
                ReportClientDocument rcd = new ReportClientDocument();
                rcd.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
                rcd.open(reportLocation, 0);
                DatabaseController dbc = rcd.getDatabaseController();
                //Create the POJO collection and populate it with data
                ReportData[] data =
                  new ReportData("B.B.", "King", 6, new Date(25, 9, 16)),

                    new ReportData("John Lee", "Hooker", 8, new Date(16, 8, 16)),
                    new ReportData("Otis", "Rush", 9, new Date(34, 4, 29)),
                    new ReportData("Buddy", "Guy", 10, new Date(36, 7, 30))
                //Create the result set from the collection of POJOs
                POJOResultSetFactory factory = new POJOResultSetFactory(ReportData.class);
                factory.setVerbose(true);
                POJOResultSet results = factory.createResultSet(data);
                ResultSetMetaData metaData = results.getMetaData();
                //Set the resultset as the report datasource
                      //Get the table name from the 'Set Datasource Location' dialog in the Crystal Reports designer
                String reportTable = "getReportDataDataSource";
                dbc.setDataSource(results, reportTable, reportTable);
                IReportSource reportSource = rcd.getReportSource();
                if (reportSource == null)
                    throw new RuntimeException("Unable to get a report source.");
            return reportSource;
    In the CRConfig.xml, this is what is there:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <CrystalReportEngine-configuration>
        <reportlocation>../reports</reportlocation>
        <timeout>0</timeout>
        <ExternalFunctionLibraryClassNames>
             <classname></classname>
        </ExternalFunctionLibraryClassNames>
    </CrystalReportEngine-configuration>
    The report template 'Report1.rpt' is packaged under WEB-INF/reports in the war file.
    When I try to generate the report by accessing the JSF page, I am getting an error: "The report source could not be retrieved from the state object. "
    I am not sure what is wrong. Can someone help me in resolving this issue?

    My formatting gets lost and the message looks unintelligible. After some experimentation, I found that if the message exceeds some length, the formatting is removed. Since I couldn't find any way to delete this post, I made another post with the same subject. Please ignore this post and help me to find a solution for the problem posted in the other thread with the same subject. Thanks in advance.

  • How do I use a OS (Windows) Environment Variable in the source path of me ActionScript 3.0 settings

    I'm sure this can be done as I know we used something similiar at my old work place, below is an image showing what I am attempting to do.
    We used this to create more portable / shareable assets files which when symbols are linking to code, the code was very often in different directories on different machines.
    So we had set up environment variables in the OS to point to source directories and then used these variables in the source paths.
    As long as everyone had these variables set up then it would all work.
    Anyone know the correct way to do this in Flash CC
    Thanks in advance!
    Best Wishes
    Rhys Thomas

    sinious the problem with doing that is that the changed path gets into the code repository as well, so you wind up with everyone going back and forth changing it to their own value, which is a hassle. If you use relative paths and a standard project setup, then it all "just works" without a problem.
    For example, this is the setup I use:
    .dev
         .thisProject
              .Flash1
                   Flash1.as
                   .Flash1
                        Flash1.xfl
                   .view
                        .audioAssets
                        .customViews
              .SoundLib
                   SoundLib.xfl
              SoundLib.swc
         .bin <swfs are output here
              .xml
         .core
              .control
              .model
              .service
              .view
    We have a "base project" that you check out to start a new project (we do heaps of similar work), and the paths are already set up to be relative. Having each project point to its own copy of the core code allows for fine-grained control of which revision you're using--we've even pointed deliberately to old versions or branches on rare occasions.
    The bin folder is actually shared with the website repository, which is in a different directory from the Flash source code (in the website, it has a different name). This allows the generated swfs to be easily updated and ensures that the latest XML is being used both for development and on the site.
    The "thisProject" folder actually includes a Flash Builder workspace with all the standard shortcuts, etc., already set up. This is primarily because of how the "default path" works when you create a new Flash Pro project in FB. Because we output a level up from the workspace, we hack the .metadata folder every time, but that's a small change.

  • Sql query in report/source

    Is possible use this kind of select select a,(select b from b) from b
    in sql query in report/source?

    Pretty much any valid select statement can be used.
    If it works in SQL*Plus, then it should work in Application Express.
    I think your example would not be valid if table b has more than one row.
    A scalar subquery (like your "select b from b") must only return a single value.
    SQL>  select ename, (select job from emp) from emp e;
    ORA-01427: single-row subquery returns more than one rowIf your subquery can be restricted to return one value, then it should work.
    SQL>  select ename, (select job from emp where empno = e.empno) job from emp e;
    ENAME      JOB
    KING       PRESIDENT
    BLAKE      MANAGER
    CLARK      MANAGER
    JONES      MANAGER
    SCOTT      ANALYST
    FORD       ANALYST
    SMITH      CLERK
    ALLEN      SALESMAN
    WARD       SALESMAN
    MARTIN     SALESMAN
    TURNER     SALESMAN
    ADAMS      CLERK

  • Error: A file found in a source-path must have the same package structure

    I use Adobe Flex Compiler (mxmlc) Version 4.1.0 build 16032,I have a file,named CustomGraphContainerController.as,it's directory is c:\controllers,and the GCController.as file is under the same directory,CustomGraphContainerController.as file like follows
    package controllers{
    import ui.GraphControlContainer;
    public class CustomGraphContainerController extends GCController {
      public function CustomGraphContainerController(a_graphControlContainer:GraphControlContainer) {
       super(a_graphControlContainer);
    Then I want to use mxmlc command to compile it,like follows:
    C:\>mxmlc c:\controllers\CustomGraphContainerController.as
    But it raise compile errors,like follows:
    Loading configuration file C:\sdk\frameworks\flex-config.xml
    C:\controllers\GCController.as: Error: A file found in a source-path must have the same package structure '', as the definition's package, 'controllers'.
    I don't know how to compile the as file with package controllers? Where is wrong? How to use mxmlc to compile it?
    Thanks

    HI,
         You should have one main application class to compile this as code to swf.. So that main application path should be in your proper package structure.. then you can compile you app and as files also...
    Thanks

  • Updating a report source/viewer with new filename

    I posted earlier about this problem but now can be more specific so thought a re-post was in order. I am trying to setup an asp.net website using .NET 2.0 and Crystal Reports 2008. Rather than having a seperate page for each possible report with a viewer on it I decided to setup a page and pass it session variables telling it what file name to set the report source to and the variables to pass to it. This worked fine in crystal reports basic (the one with visual studio).
    So I have on the page CrystalViewer (CrystalReportViewer) with display page true seperate pages true and crystalRepSource (CrystalReportSource) with cache enabled and viewstate enabled as far as I know cache is required for the paging to work.
    In my form code behind file i have something like:
    protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) {
    CrystalRepSource.Report.FileName = SessionHandler.RunReport;
    switch (report)
    if (PreviousPage != null || paramHasChanged)
    case @"~\CollegeReports\CR_Course_Review.rpt":
                    //setup report in viewer with correct db logon
                    SetupLogonInfo(CrystalRepSource);
                    //add parameters
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@year", year);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@school", school);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@division", division);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@progArea", progArea);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@type", SessionHandler.record_type);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@filterText", "School = \'" + school +
                                                            "\' Division = \'" + division
                                                            + "\' Programme Area = \'" + progArea
                                                            + "\' Record Type = \'" + SessionHandler.record_type_text + "\'");
                    break;
                case @"~\CollegeReports\CR_WBL_Attendance_Sheets.rpt":
                    //setup report in viewer with correct db logon
                    SetupLogonInfo(CrystalRepSource);
                    //add parameters
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@year", year);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@school", school);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@division", division);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@progArea", progArea);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@attendanceEndDate", LastDayOfMonth(SessionHandler.WBL_EndDate).ToString());
                    break;
    The case statement actually has about 20 reports in it it is basically used to send the appropriate parameter set to the report and setup the database logon info, the if statement around the case checks if the load is a postback (to allow paging of the report) if it is it won't run the code or if a parameter has changed if one has it will rerun the code. As I said this worked in CR basic.
    Unfortunately what now seems to happen is the first time I run a report it works fine, if I then leave the page and run a report requiring different parameters it will give me the parameter error. However if instead I run a report requiring the same parameters it will show the original report document as if it is coming from cache I think. The case becomes a bit more bizarre later as I have created the ability to change a parameter without leaving the report page this actually does a postback and changes the report to the proper one with the proper data.
    So it seems to me the code to change report is working first time and for postback but not for re-entering the page. I am really stuck been working on this for hours  any ideas.

    ok i have found the solution after a quite a while so anyone else getting this I was using the line:
    CrystalRepSource.Report.FileName = SessionHandler.RunReport;
    I changed it to:
    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath(ReportName));
    This clears any existing report and loads the correct one seems to have solved all my problems.

  • Configuring Doc Path (and Source Path) for default JDeveloper library

    hi
    Sometimes a default JDeveloper library as no Doc Path (or Source Path) configured.
    Adding a project library with only a Doc Path (or/and Source Path) configured (so no Class Path) can make the relevant API documentation more easily available in JDeveloper,
    see http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/img/2011/library-doc-path-20110529.png
    - (q1) Why has the "WebLogic 10.3 Remote-Client" library no Doc Path configured by default?
    - (q2) Are somehow/somewhere source files available (maybe only of "API related"/non-implementation classes) for the "WebLogic 10.3 Remote-Client" library, so these can be configured in a library Source Path, to make the API documentation even more easily accessible in JDeveloper?
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Thanks for your reply John.

    As I write in my initial post, I am able to add a project library with only a Doc Path configured (as shown in library-doc-path-20110529.png),
    to "Oracle Fusion Middleware Oracle WebLogic Server MBean Javadoc 11g Release 1 (10.3.5) Part Number E13945-05 "

    So, questions (q1) about a default Doc Path configuration and question (q2) about source files (similar to ADF) remain.

  • Report Source from Column in Table

    I'm probably just not using the correct search words so pardon me if this has already been answered here.
    I have a table has a list of reports and the SQL required to generate that report. So page 500 executes this report source:
    select t.reptid, t.short_name, t.long_name
    from reports t
    where t.rept_inst = :F104_CURINST
    and t.rept_time_frame = :F104_CURTERM
    and t.submission = :F104_CURSUBM
    I have a column link on t.reptid that sets P520_RPTID. I then want page 520 to display the results of the sql stored in the sql_source column so I have a Before Header Process that sets the contents of P520_SQL using this source:
    SELECT sql_string
    from univdb.reports
    where rports_id = :P520_RPTID
    The contents of P520_SQL are indeed the sql_string I want:
    SELECT * FROM univdb.sites t where t.rept_inst = :F104_CURINST and t.rept_time_frame = :F104_CURTERM and t.submission = :F104_CURSUBM
    I thought by setting the source for my Report Region to &P520_SQL. that apex would run the contents of the item and resolve all the substitutions but I get 'not all variables bound'. I tried using :520_SQL also but that returned an 'invalid function'.
    Thanks for any help you can give me,
    ...elsa

    Hi Simon,
    Thanks for your reply. I'm finally get back to this problem. I tried your suggestion but still only get back the string that's in my Oracle table w/out the variable substitutions being made.
    In other words, the actual contents of my field in the table are:
    select t.rept_inst, t.campus_cd, t.base_yr,t.rept_time_frame,
    t.site_nbr, t.bldg_nbr, t.be_cd_pom, t.pom_bud_factor
    from univdb.bldg_plnt_oper_maint t
    where t.rept_inst = '&F104_CURINST.'
    and t.rept_time_frame = ' &F104_CURTERM.'
    order by 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
    and I want APEX to resolve the & variables and display the rows that result from this select. If I hard code the & variables in the data the query works but I want this to be dynamic depending on who is logged on. Otherwise I have to have a row in my REPORTS table for every combination of F104_CURINST and F104_CURTERM.
    Thanks for pondering,
    ...elsa
