Repository package building script

I've been using a script to build all the packages for my repo for some time, but it was pretty hacked together, so I decided to rewrite it today. I made it so that it works with both makepkg and versionpkg. The assumption is that you make a directory with this script and two directories (make and version). The "make" directory contains directories with only "makepkg" packages, and "version" contains directories with "versionpkg" packages. You execute the script in the top directory, an it will recurse though "make" and "version" and build all the packages to a single location.
It Works for Me! (tm)
An example building directory structure:
buildall.sh
builtlog.log
make
- any2dvd
- gimp-devel
- gmrun
version
- xfwm4-svn
- xfmedia-svn
- gaim-cvs
Script:
#!/bin/bash
REPO_PACKAGES=/path/to/built/packages
REPO_ARCHIVES=/path/to/archive
LOGFILE=builtlog.log #change this to whatever you want the logfile to be called
############ DO NOT EDIT BELOW THIS LINE! ###################
TOP_DIR=`pwd`
if [ -e "$LOGFILE" ]; then
echo "Previous log found, saving as ${LOGFILE}.old"

BUILD_COMMAND=`basename "$i"`pkg
HOLDING_DIR=`pwd`

#Move all but latest package to $REPO_ARCHIVE

I have a script I will be releasing in the next 24 hours that should do this for you - working from Bridge. It will still initially be at the test stage but it should work and if it doesn't I will help you to make it work. If you are interested send me an email andrew at ps-scripts.com

  • How to use single ant build script to package the application with and without native extensions

    Hi,
    I am using iOS native extensions for Adobe air. For this I am listing the extensions in the application descriptor file. Since the package with native extensions are meant to run only on device, I want my build script to work without native extensions too to be able to run on simulator. Is this manadatory that I need two separate application descriptors/basically two build scripts to compile and package them? Please suggest and let me know if more explanation is needed.
    Thanks,
    Swathi.

    Hi
    This is a known issue addressed by CR205204
    As you said, IBM actually does not have rt.jar in its JDK - they have moved contents of rt.jar into various jars.
    IBM is not using org/apache/crimson/tree/ in their JDK at all.So the error shows up in the end of build even if it succeeds
    You may need to add crimson.jar to wlwBuild classpath, since it is not part of IBMs JDK.
    Note: the build will work even w/o crimson.jar giving a non build related IDE exception in the very end.
    Thanks
    Vimala

  • Solaris packaging - "build" class action script

    I tried to create a package with a build class action script but having problem with it. I am wondering if any one could give me hint on how to solve this problem? I tried to follow the example on the Solaris tutorial but it didn't work either.
    In the prototype file, I have added: e build /etc/randomtable=etc/randomtable ? ? ?
    In the pkginfo I have added: CLASSES=none build
    Content of etc/randomtable in my build directory:
    !install
    # randomtable builder
    if [ -f $PKG_INSTALL_ROOT/etc/randomtable ]; then
    echo "/etc/randomtable is already in place.";
    else
    echo "# /etc/randomtable" > /etc/randomtable
    echo "1121554 # first random number" >> /etc/randomtable
    fi
    !remove
    # randomtable deconstructor
    if [ -f $PKG_INSTALL_ROOT/etc/randomtable ]; then
    # the file can be removed if it's unchanged
    if [ egrep "first random number" /etc/randomtable ]; then
    rm /etc/randomtable;
    fi
    fi
    The error I got after running pkgadd on that package:
    Modifying /etc/randomtable
    /var/sadm/pkg/BPCttdb.2/save/build/etc/randomtable: !install: not found
    /var/sadm/pkg/BPCttdb.2/save/build/etc/randomtable: !remove: not found
    /var/sadm/pkg/BPCttdb.2/save/build/etc/randomtable: test: unknown operator first random number
    pkgadd: ERROR: class action script did not complete successfully

    Thanks!

    I looked at the build script (/usr/sadm/install/scripts/i.build and r.build), and didn't see anything that parses the "!" directive. I'm not very familiar with build scripts, and the documentation is actually inherited from the original SVR4 documentation (not originating from Sun). But in looking at an example of a script that uses the build class, it expects the first argument to be either "install" or "remove" when called. So your example would look like this below. Note that my comment about the escaped comment can be ignored. It's surrounded by quotes, so is okay.
    if [ $1 = install ] ; then
    # randomtable builder
    if [ -f $PKG_INSTALL_ROOT/etc/randomtable ]; then
    echo "/etc/randomtable is already in place.";
    else
    echo "# /etc/randomtable" > /etc/randomtable
    echo "1121554 # first random number" >> /etc/randomtable
    fi
    else
    # randomtable deconstructor
    if [ -f $PKG_INSTALL_ROOT/etc/randomtable ]; then
    # the file can be removed if it's unchanged
    if \[ egrep "first random number" $PKG_INSTALL_ROOT/etc/randomtable \]; then
    rm /etc/randomtable;
    fi
    fi
    So basically the SVR4 Applications Developers Guide incorrectly tries to use the "!install" and "!remove" commands.

  • Running ant build scripts from cmd fails on Windows Server

    Hi all!
    I'm trying to build and package ME on a Windows Server calling the ant build script targets from cmd. This works fine on a Windows XP machine. On a Windows Server machine however the ant internal calls to nwcetool.bat are failing because -files are not found in DEPLOYARCHIVES. And these files are really not there although they should have been created by nwcetool.
    Does anyone have a clue why calling ant build script in cmd on a Windows XP machine will work but fails on Window Server?

  • Build script make sense?

    hi,
    we r working on a simple web center portal application. it doesn't consume/use any portlets or task flows.
    it has few jspx pages, data controls etc...
    does it make sense to write build script for this application?
    i mean jdev has nice deploy feature where you add all your servers (dev, test, stage, prod etc) and deploy on any servers in few clicks?
    i understand person who is deploying on prod will not have access of jdev - probably that's a reason why we need build script, correct?
    kindly pour in ur thoughts.
    thanks.

    Jaap Spiering wrote:
    Yes, it makes sense to create build scripts to automate your builds and deployments and to make it easier for administrators to perform deployments without using JDeveloper.
    You can for example use Ant to write the application to an .ear file, and deploy it using an environment-specific deployment plan, or manipulate the .ear file or existing deployments using WLST
    Some helpful links:
    Re: Automated packaging and deploying of WebCenter Spaces/Portal
    http://adfhowto.blogspot.nl/2011/03/jdeveloper-deployment-is-built-around.html
    http://maveninjdeveloper.blogspot.nl/2012/04/handle-adf-application-maven-ant.html
    thanks so much jaap.
    however one of the link says:
    A command-line tool, ojdeploy, is available to allow deployment of ArchiveProfile(s) without invoking the JDeveloper IDE (JDeveloper does not need to run but it needs to be installed in order to run ojdeploy).
    which means jdev must be installed on build system (where ant will run)...

  • Ant build script for SOA application

    Hi All,
    I am trying to write a build script to handle deployments from the Linux server which host the SOA environment. Also, I am using Subversion as my version control on a different machine. I found a sample example of building using ant script, but this is applicable if the source code is based locally. But what if it is in remote version control
    ant -f ant-sca-package.xml
    -DcompositeDir=C:\po\POProcessing\POProcessing
    -DcompositeName=POProcessing
    -Drevision=1.0
    -Dscac.application.home=C:\po\POProcessing
    Please suggest how to go with the build script.
    Thanks
    Jigo

    Has anybody tried getting the source code from subversion for ant build of a SOA composite.
    Thanks

  • Problems deploying ear file created with ant build script

    Hi All,
    I'm using Jdeveloper 11G and Weblogic 10.3. When I build my application and run it within Jdeveloper, it works fine. However, we have a requirement to run ANT build script and create a deployable .ear file that can be manually deployed to any Weblogic Server.
    I created my ant build script and it compiles/builds fine - the .ear file looks good. However, when I attempt to deploy it, it fails with
    javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet for servlet Faces Servlet could not be loaded because the requested class was not found in the classpath .

    I am not sure how to tell weblogic where to find the classes needed. I have a pretty huge classpath used when compiling - should I be putting the classpath in the manifest (?) - I don't think I should need to include the .jar files manually in the .ear file - since all the libraries should already be available in weblogic - or is that a misconception?
    Please help!!

    I answered my own question -
    I had to manually add the following to the WEB-INF/lib to get the error to go away:
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/modules/javax.jsf_1.1.0.0_1-2.jar and
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jsf_1.2.9/glassfish.jsf_1.0.0.0_1-2-15.jar and
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jsf_1.2.9/glassfish.jstl_1.2.0.1.jar
    that solved my problem. However, I think it'd be great if I could somehow just specify (in the weblogic-application.xml maybe?) that my application is using the above modules without having to copy the jar files into my WEB-INF/lib - any suggestions?
    Thanks

    I have my source folder path as follows.
    E:\RT\RI complete\buildscripts\build.xml
    My WAS Home is D:\Program Files\IBM\SDP70\runtimes\base_v61.
    I have set the Environment Variable as WAS_HOME.

    The portion of the build.xml file where i am getting this error is follows

  • Error when loading customer's application build script

    I'm updating a program for a customer to include a module that we have developed. We're required to use an application builder script because of the way the VIs work.
    Anyways, when I attempt to load the build script for the LabView 6.1 application, eventually an error box comes up with the following message:
    Error 1 occured at Program Files:\National Instruments\LabVIEW 6.1\vi.lib\addons\_office\_wordsub.llb\_Word Dynamic VIs.vi - invalid path.
    Possible Reasons:
    LabVIEW: An input parameter is invalid.
    or
    NI-488: Command requires GPIB Controller to be Controller in Charge.
    I'm confused about the Program Files:\ syntax. Is this a valid reference? I can only assume so, as I believe they used this build script in the past. I'm currently working on Win2k, and I do not know what the customer's machine is running.
    Is there a particular Windows or LabView setting that would let this build script work? If not, is there an application build script editor that I can use to change the file reference?

    Yes it's a valid path, see attached screen cap of the exact path on my computer (except version 8.2).
    It looks like the target computer is just missing the MS Office toolkit, or the installation was not Typical. Tell the user to install the toolkit in the proper directory and it should compile.

    Update build script to work with Flex 4 SDK.
    Modified Paths:
        osmf/branches/flex4/build/build.xml

    No, you don't need Flash Builder to use the Flex SDK. If you download the SDK and unzip it, you'll find a 'bin' directory that has the mxmlc compiler in it. You can compile Actionscript or MXML files using that.
    ./mxmlc MyFlexApp.mxml
    If you are building an AIR application, you will use amxmlc
    ./amxmlc MyAIRFlexApp.mxml
    Then, launch your AIR application using adl
    ./adl.exe MyAIRFlexApp-app.xml
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
    Have you find a solution for this problem?
    I have exactly the same one. I must build my web-services with some dependence compiled on java 1.6 so I need to use the APT task with a java 1.6 but the problem "Apt task requires Java 1.5+" appear.
    Thanks in advance for your answer.
