Repository Size

Hi all,
Is there any tcode or report to calculate a repository size. In this case its SOFFDB (SAPOffice docs) stored in the database.
Regards

Hi!
I have had the same requirement. As I know there is no special transaction. You should open tables and count records. Maybe DRAW or DRAU somthing like this tables.

  • Repository Size / RPCLEAN elapsed time

I'm curious about people's repository size and their corresponding
rpclean elapsed time. Without other sizes and times to compare to,
there's no way of me knowing if our current environment is as
    efficient as it can be.
If you don't mind, please send me your repository size and elapsed
time of your rpclean. (also send the number number of objects in the
rpclean stats if you can). At this point, I'm not interested in the
quick clean, just a full clean. Also include your platform that
you're running on. Please send information for all repositories that
    you have.
    Thanks.

If you have heavy development in your repos, do a quick clean every night and
a full clean on the weekend.
In addition, you should create a new repos from time to time. We use gemstone
and we have been told the repos degrade over time even when you keep it clean.
We always get great performance out of a new repos with plenty of code in it. I can
tell when our repos has degraded and it is time for a new one. It will get slow.
You can use rpcopy or create a new repos and import your code.
You really need to be pro-active with repository maintenance. You can work yourself
into a corner if your not cleaning or the cleans are failing (you have to check to make
    sure the cleans are successful).
Another way to get better repos performance is with parallel disk I/O. Keep you
repositories on different drives (do not access them across NFS). You can create
    symbolic links to the files.

  • Installed BI Applications 7.9.5 but Repository size is only 2kb

    Hi All,
I have Installed BI Applications 7.9.5 on windows server 2003 , but the size of the OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd
    is just 2 kb.
I have stopped all the services of OBIEE-Infrastructure components(BI-Server services, BI-Presentation service ,Etc..) and
Installed the BI-Applications, the Installation was successful ,
but by seeing the size of the reporsitory itself , we felt something wrong has happened.
Soumyaa(a member in this group) , i hope You have faced a similar problem , how did you fixed.
Do we to need to Uninstall the BI-applications and make new download of the BI-Applicaion S/w..and start the installation once again.
    regards
    saran

    Hi all ,
I came across a reference link for this
1>while BIEE installation we selected Advenced Option,
2> on top of it we intalling BI -applications
please refer the below, the step 2
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12127_01/doc/bia.795/e12087/chapter.htm
    under the section "1.3.29 "
Installation Errors With Oracle Applications Server Advanced Security Option
When installing the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications on top of an installation of the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition that was installed using the Oracle Applications Server advanced security option, the following error message will be displayed:
"Password length is less than the required minimum, 8"
Oracle Business Intelligence Applications installation will abort and the OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd file will be corrupted.
The error happens because the MINIMUM_PASSWORD_LENGTH setting in the NQSConfig.ini file was set to 8 by the OBIEE installation. The workaround is to change the value of MINIMUM_PASSWORD_LENGTH to 0 in NQSConfig.ini, install Oracle Business Intelligence Applications, then change the value back to 8.

  • Initial Size of the Repository

When a repository is created in console for the first time, is there any preset space (Eg: 50 MB) in the database which gets assigned to the repository? Or does the repository size grows dynamically as and when we create the tables with in that repository?

    Hi,
Whenever a new repository is created it has some tables and fields inbuilt and hence it occupies some storage in database server but there wont be any preset space reserved for the repository. For DBMS repository is nothing but a simple database consisting of tables and fields.
Create a repository and open the SQL Server you can see the two databases created for one repository with names <repositoryname>_m000 and <repositoryname>_z000. Right click on <repositoryname>_m000 and select properties, select the tab Data Files, there you will get the File Properties indicating whether to grow the file dynamically or by some factor in MBs. You can also restrict the growth of the repository size.
    Kindly update us....

  • What are the components use to be store in workspace repository ?

    Hi ,
We are working on Hyperion System9 v 9.3.1 which is on AIX server with Oracle 10g repository. We have scheduled approx 300 bqys having email notification which is importing bqy output files to respective folders with joboutput in another folder.
As, we know that all bqys & jobs use to be store in file system on Hyperion server (/Hyperion/BIPlus/data/RM1_servername/root/../...).
But our concern is hyperion repository size which is 163 GB in current scenario.
Therefore, we need to know that what are the components use to be store in repository for Hyperion workspace.
Your any guidance will be highly appreciable.

  • Repository Corruption

We have a problem with our development repository, which says that it
has inconsistency ID. I have enclosed the actual forte error below.
This problem happened to us a month before and we did the following
corrective action. We created the new repository by importing all the
Forte and conductor plans. It worked and all went well until yesterday
when our backup script, which has the rpcopy and rpclean, failed. And
the old problem is back again. We could not start our repository
anymore. We tried to start by recreating the index file but it failed.
Since the regular rpclean failed we tried the -q option and tried
starting our repository. This time it worked. Even though it is up and
running now the repository looks very unstable now. It would be helpful
if someone can shed more light onto this problem. Any suggestion is far
beyond welcome. The Repository size is 450 MB now.

I've had a similiar problem on a project I was working on.
We had a real load of old and unused variables in Interconnect so that we decided to clean up the repository using iStudio. During that process we ran into the weird thing that some object could be removed even though we KNEW they were in use and vice versa.
This specific problem could be traced back to the usecount column in the interconnect repository. The usecount column was sometimes not updated properly.

You could respond in ENGLICH, GERMAN or FRENCH
    Thank you for your Help!

You are running into database errors. You should refer to the database documentation on how to adjust the size your tablespaces. The online Designer installation guide will advise you as to the sizes of tablespaces you require. • Oracle EM 12c - Host Administration problems

    Hello,
I'm trying to do certain administrative tasks on a host target. However, when for instance, I klick to "Host" -> "Administration" -> "Services", I get:
    "Required Installations
To administer a host through Enterprise Manager, you will need to install the following scripts. Follow the steps below and click 'Finish' button when you are done."
Same goes for "Host" -> "Administration" -> "NFS Client" or "Host" -> "Administration" -> "Host Lookup Table" or other administrative tasks.
My target host is an OL 6 VM, on which I installed YAST, according to the initial error message and some notes I've found so far. However, apart from getting passed the initial message that I had to install YAST, it really didn't accomplish much.
    Any help appreciated,

  • Process Aborted in RAU

Almost immediately after starting the installation of a Repository Instance using the Repository Administration Utility (RAU, I get a ckrau61 error box showing 'CDR-21244: This process has been aborted'
The action advises me to check the log for errors but I do not know what the log is called (except that it ends in .LIS) and I do not know where to find it.
    The sequence of actions was:
    1. Invoke the RAU,
    2. Click OK for the default options (support for Oracle Designer Objects checked)
    3. Clicked Yes to use public synonyms
    4. Changed each Index & Table tablespace to the name specified in the tablespace creation step (as defined in the script fioles)
    5. Checked Medium repository size,
    6. Clicked Start.
Can anyone help with this - either suggest what the problem may be or tell me where to find the log?
Following pressing 'start' a DOS box appears, but it displays info & dissappears so quickly that I cannot read it or capture its contents!
    Thanks for any help,
    Richard

Since I posted the above message, I have found the log file. The documentation stated that it had a .LIS extension when in fact it has a .LOG extension.
Anyway, I am getting an Oracle error 1552 which says: "Cannot use segment rollback segment for non-system tablespace 'TEMPORARY_TABLES'. This occurred twice then the import terminated successfully (it says) with warnings!
I installed the repository using the updated scripts in 9.0.2.5.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

  • Hardware configuration planning

We are migrating from Stellent 7.5.1 to UCM 11g and doing h/w capacity planning for new version. Want to know what are the parameters to do the capacity planning.
    We are assuming:
    - 200 concurrent users in 1 min, with the capacity to upload 5-8 mb of file upload by every user.
    - The uploaded document gets converted in to PDF and webviewable format.
    - The repository size of 1.5 TB with growth rate of 100 gb per quarter.
Is there a way/calculation mechanism/tool helps to analyse the capacity of production server hardware configuration with the above mentioned usage and scenarios.
What is the Oracle's minimum and recommended h/w configuration for a UCM11g.
    Thanks

    - The repository size of 1.5 TB with growth rate of 100 gb per quarter. In order to calculate the sizing more precisely you need to estimate also
    a) how many pages an approximate user will see (e.g. per minute) - this estimates UI activity
    b) how many checkins will occur (e.g. per minute) - is the 5-8 mb one bigger file or several smaller files?
As a rule of thumb (if you don't know anything better), you may calculate that one license CPU can serve approx. 500 users, if their requirements do not contain anything special.
In your particular case, it will be desirable to separate conversions; that is, install IBR on separate servers. With 200 docs of size 5-8 MB per minute (I used the available benchmark 10MB), the calculation sheet gives me the estimate of 195(!) Conversion Servers (if I used the other closest available benchmark, it gives me 20 CSs, so expect to be somewhere in between).
Anyway, one thing is obvious: your project will be about mastering conversions.

  • Oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall withOUT Unbreakable ?

In the Oracle Linux 5 (RHEL 5) world, we used to install an “oracle-validated” RPM to prep a box for the database software, as well as the middleware. It sets some tuneables, loads some dependencies and other good housekeeping.
In the Linux 6 world, it appears that we now are supposed to use the “oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall” RPM, but this also installs the Unbreakable kernel. Is there any such version of this RPM that will keep the RH Compatible kernel?
    see https://blogs.oracle.com/linux/entry/oracle_rdbms_server_11gr2_pre for other details.
    Thanks!

I think I just solved this issue... I was blindly installing the repo's per the link (http://public-yum.oracle.com/) - when I edited the
/etc/yum.repos.d/public-yum-ol6.repo file, and turned off ol6_UEK_latest (by setting enabled=0 for that stanza), I did yum clean all, and let it rip - it looks like I stayed with the RedHat Compatable version.. sorry for the long post, but see the bold in the beginning and end of the following...

    Hi All,
In our QA environment for past 2 days we are facing issue on space . some unusual behaviour. Taken threaddumps at that time and found the issue

Please let me know where exact issue on thread.

If you are seeing daily increases and decrease in your disk utilization (for example it increases during the day/overnaight but in the morning the disk space has recovered what you are seeing is the impact of Tar optimization.
The Tar Persistence manager is the underlying storage mechanism for CRX. Data is stored in append only tar files. This means the when you update a node or property the new values are written to the Tar files, the indexes are updated to point to the new location, but the old data is also still left in the file. This mechanism allows for a much faster write mechanism. So the more you frequently you update existing content in your repository the larger you Tar files becomes.
There is a process called Tar File Optimization that by default is scheduled to run from 2 AM to 5 AM server time. This process identifies all the orphaned data in the Tar files and deletes, there by reducing the size of the tar files on disk.
So if you are in heavy content migration mode, or moving large amounts of content between instances you can see large swings in your disk space utilization as the Tar file balloons up during the day and then shrinks back down over night. In some cases depending on how large your repository is the 3 hours allotted by default is not sufficent to complete the optimizaiton so you may not be recovering all your disk space. During normal production operations this will normally average out over time and the 3 hour window is enough. However during periods of heavy usage, especially during QA or content migration you may find that your tar files are ever increasing in size. If that happens you need pick a period of time over say a weekend and trigger the Tar File optimization to run until complete to recover as much of your disk space as possible.
See http://helpx.adobe.com/crx/kb/TarPMOptimization.html for details on Tar File Optimization.
As someone else pointed out you may also have an issue with your data store which requires a different clean up method.
