Is there any std. report in ps basing on project type?
i have searched. But i could not find the same in PS STD Reports.

Hi,
If its a one time requirement using CN43N might help in meeting the requirement. However, first it has to be executed for a certain range of projects and then the layout will have to be changed accordingly. Instead of doing this if a custom report is developed with the input parameter as "Project Type" it would make it much more easier. You can even have the F4 search option for the input parameter. Doing this will help if the report is going to be used frequently in the future.
Take your call and proceed accordingly.

Thanks for clarifying.
You are right - the SAP given standards (Document Type, Status etc.) differ based on Project Type.
Given your context, which is largely 'Functional' and not 'Technical', you have the following two options, in my view:
(1) Implementation Project: If you do not have active 'Solution Landscape' where existing business processes are fully defined, this is the best approach. You can treat your process change project as a mini-implementation project, though you wouldn't have to follow the typical ASAP Roadmap consisting of all those 5 phases. After accomplishing your goal (new way of doing a process), transfer that Business Scenario to 'Solution Landscape', if you want to.
(2) Maintenance Project: If, in your Solution Manager system, people have already started using 'Solution Landscape' and have inherited the Processes from Implementation Projects of the past (one of which you now want to change), you can 'Check Out' those Processes alone into a Maintenance Project, do changes to documentation, structure etc. and 'Check in' that to Solution Ladscape again. This functionality, however, is available from later Support Packs (13 or 15 - not sure where this was introduced)

Can we restrict the printing of PO Item text based on PO types?

Dear Experts,
We have a requirement related to printing of PO Item Text.
We need to print a perticular Item text only for a certaing PO type (ex: NB only).
How can we restrict the printing of PO Item text based on PO types?

Hi,
In one of my earlier Projects we had a similar requirement and the Best solution we could give to our client was to Create New Output Type and asked our ABAPer to Delete/Deactivate the fields / texts which were not required for PO printing and the User was asked to select the New Output type for Printing.
Take help of a ABAPer to change the fields required for Printing this new Output Type.
Discuss with your client and see if it works.

To find Manager id based on Project id

Hi ABAPers,
This is kishore. I am new to ABAP-HR
Can any one tell me the logic based on Project-id (of its type HRP1001-OBJID) to find the Manager id, Manager Name, Manager Email.
I know the logic find name and mail-id, but I need Manger id of corresponding Project.
Any one having working knowledge on PS module I hope they have good idea about this
Please help me in the format of sample code or Function Modules.

Unsupported: This version of Visual Studio does not have the project types

I recently created a new virtual machine with the exact same step-up as my previous virtual machine. When I open my .sln files i get the following message:

Based on the message, the VS Pro 2012 on your new VM does not support that project type. So what type of Visual C# project is the WriteToJS project? Which edition of Visual Studio did you create this project from? What .net framework is this project targeted?
Please make sure this VS supports such project in order to work with this project fine in VS Pro 2012.
I recommend that you check whether the same project template exists from File->New->Project->Visual C# in VS2012 Professional with Update 4 on the new VM. If the same project template exists, please create a new project to check whether the template
project can be created successfully.

Resp Person Tab is not coming in CJ20N for a particular project type

Hi All,
I am unaware of the standard SAP screen in CJ20N but we have a screen in CJ20n wherein we can assign a person / link a person this particular tab is not coming at all for a particular project type (Resp Person) rather a different tab (cust enhancement) is coming but our problem is we have a mass program which works on BDC and hence if the required screens are not there it fails.
Can someone please tell me if there is come config i can check/ maintain for this resp person tab so that it starts coming for all project types.

Thanks a lot, it was helpful, one more thing though, In Resp Persons tab there is something called Link Employees and my problem is that i have a mass linking program (using BDC) which cannot work if i dont see that screen in my BDC (without changing BDC). The way you have told is in OPUK/ OPUJ check for proj type and see if person responsible is hidden or not. I dont think that is what i am asking because no matter what this person responsible is hidden, but for certain project types Resp Person tab itself is not coming and that is the problem.

Retrieve all values from project type when project type combo box is null

Hi,
We are facing a tight situation here. We have a scenario where we have 2 filter options.
1) Department ID
2) Project type
When department ID is selected all the department IDs should be populated in the combo box and the project type combo box should be empty.
Similarly, when project type is selected all the project types should be populated in the combo box and the department ID combo box should be empty.
Then, when more than one value is selected from department ID box and all the values from project type must be retrieved from query level (as per business logic).
How do we do this? Kindly help us with this situation.

Basically my situation slightly different.
I am trying to do a bulk insert on SQL Server table using prepared statement, during that time i am getting the exception. I am using JDBC-ODBC driver. However, if i do individual record insertion, it is working.
Any idea about this type of problem ?

I CREATE material A...with out seleting QM view
I create one more material B.... with select QM view
both r ROH material type..
when i caeate GR for material A. with stoc type 'QYALITY INSPECTION.. for this material system does not creat quality LOT....
when i create GR for material B with stock type 'QYALITY INSPECTION.... for this material system created lot..
but are GR done by 101 movement..
but i want report for materials which are stock type QI...but does not display Material which r lot created...?
is it possible..

VS 2010 Pro "Other Project Types" / "Setup and Deployment": No items found

Hello,
I have VS 2010 Pro Version 10.0.40219.1 SP1 Rel. I have developed a VB.Net application and would like to deploy it. When I try to add a setup project to the solution, I get "No items found" where a list of project types should be in the "Add New Project"
dialog, "Installed Templates", "Other Project Types", "Setup and Deployment". Shouldn't the Pro version have those templates installed? If so, can I copy them from somewhere? I noticed that "Database" and "Test Projects" also have empty lists. There are lots
of templates available for the various languages.
I tried to modify the VS 2010 installation by adding support for SharePoint, but that did not help. Do I have to uninstall, reboot, and re-install? It's so cumbersome considering that I would need to redo the updates as well.
OS is Win 7 Pro, processor is Intel E8400.

The Setup Project template is located in: Installed Templates >> Other Project Types >> Setup and Deployment >> Visual Studio Installer. Would you please check if the templates exists in this path?
If not, you can follow the steps below to reset your Visual Studio templates:
Please open Windows Explorer, and navigate to <Visual Studio Installation Path>\Common7\IDE
(by default is C:\Program Files \Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE);
Delete the ItemTemplatesCache, ProjectTemplatesCache
folder;
Open Visual Studio Command Prompt (2010) under Start menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 -> Visual Studio Tools (run it with Administrator privilege: right-click the program -> Run as administrator);
Run the devenv /InstallVSTemplates switch;
Run the devenv /Setup switch.

Payments based on inventory type, item category...

Hi,
I am trying to develop a report to show unrecorded liabilities - basically, I need to find out if there are payments/accounting documents/invoice number existing in the system, that has no connecting documents in purchase or sales side. I am able to do this using REGUP/BSEG/VBAP/EKPO (and corresponding header) tables.
I am stuck at one requirement though.
"Segregate payments in to inventory, non-inventory, no-link categories based on product/service (item type/item category) or/and vendor type (inventory/non-inventory)."
Can someone please tell me how to divide payments as mentioned above? Is it based on material type?

If FI postings for inventory and non-inventory are posted to different G/L accounts then you should be able to filter that using HKONT field in BSEG. On the purchasing side, if G/L account number won't suffice then check if you can use cost element field KOSTL. On the sales side you should be able to filter this using PRCTR.
If this approach cannot be used then you have to drill down to VBEP table and check if there is a movement type attached to this order item (for third party items, check for VBEP-LFREL = X). This will be accurate depending on how sales configuration was set up.
On the purchasing side, use a combination Item category and Account assignment category in table EKPO to identify and segregate the totals.

Is it possible to generate a spool based on output type for a SAP Script (without explicitly trigger in Tcode VF02 and selecting output type from there )
Actually a background job will be scheduled to process output types selected in VF01 / VF02
When output type is ZABC in the background a work flow is called pdf is generated

Hi Syed,
Yes it is. Go to the server settings, then change or restart workflow. From this page, you will be able to choose a source EPT and projects then a destination EPT. Note that you can use this feature evenif you don't use workflows.
