Repousse not avaible for Text layers?
Hello,
I love the 3d effects with the 3D panel and Adobe Repousse. However everytime I select a text layer and then go to 3d, repousse, create object, I get and error that says "Repousse for Text layers is not supported at this time."
But I have seen it done it tutorials and on the About Photoshop CS5 extended, it says It can be done...
So how can one, I, user Adobe repousse with Text Layers in my Adobe Photoshop CS5 extended trial?

You need to have a video card that supports OpenGL Drawing in Photoshop and have it enabled from Edit->Preferences->Performance

Sound not working for text alert just vibrate and no sound on keyboard
I'm having the same problem, it just started today (11/13/2012).
Settings > Sounds> Text Tone = Tri-tone
Lock Sounds = On
Keyboard Clicks = Off
The mute button is also in the correct place (ring, not mute). -
Contact name not displaying for texts/messages, only phone number does
When I turn on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2) in the morning (I shut it off at night), any received text messages (iMessages or standard texts) only show the phone number of the person who sent the text and the standard tone for texts is heard, when it should display the name and play the special text tone I setup on specific contact records. It is not til after I use the Touch ID or enter my passcode that the name of the contact who sent the text displays AND the special text tone for that contact is heard. This not normal behavior. Even upon startup on my former iPhone (5), any texts received displayed the contact name and played the appropriate tone when the phone was turned on during the morning. HELP! I believe this is a bug; but, would like to have this confirmed. If it's a setting or combination of settings that I'm missing in iOS 8.0.2, please let me know.
My contacts have never been stored in iCloud nor do I plan to use iCloud.

Iphone 5 not searching for text messages correctly anymore?
If i type in 'Tim' to search for a text message from 'Tim' the search does not bring up tim's messages in the results, although it may randomly show some messages that have Tim in the written text of the messages??
But if i scroll down through the messages themselves without using the search tool, Tims messages are there!?
This isnt just for one person, it seeems to happen randomly for different names etc, As in i have a few friends by the name of Mark, yet when searching it may only bring up one of them...
Not sure if I have explained myself very well, but hopefully somebody will get the jist and be able to help!!If you only have that much (little) space left it is likely the database on the phone is unable to continue indexing your messages. I would strongly suggest that you start offloading some older messages and remove from your phone to free up space. At the minimum, delete some attachments after saving them to camera roll/backup.

Iphone 5 bluetooth texting is not working in my Mercedes E550; Mercedes says it's a phone issue. Any ideas or suggestions?
If your question regards the ability of your Mercedes to access the text messages in your phone, the most likely answer is that your vehicle's audio system does not support the Message Access Profile. This Bluetooth profile was adopted in June of 2009, which means that Mercedes Benz wasn't implementing this capability mid-year.
Your Merc simply will not be able to access those messages.
If the dealer can do an update of the Firmware, it might improve the capability. But the expense of that might outweigh the ability to gain access to your texts. This is to say that there is even an upgrade possible. This is a major addition to the Bluetooth capabilities.
FWIW, up until recently, most cars havn't had this capability. The earliest adopters were Ford and BMW.

Snapping not working for masked layers in Photoshop CC
I am working with multiple layers which have been masked and I am using a grid that has been set up with the guide layout options in Photoshop CC. What I have found is that the masked layers will not snap to guides. It is as if the snapping feature doesn't recognize the masked edge only the true edge of the layer ( which is not visible). This verified when I applied the layer mask to the layer and effectively deleted the non-visible part of the image, and then the "masked-now cropped" image would snap. Is there any way to get snapping to work with a masked layer?
As JJMack stated, the snap only works on the actual layer edges, not a masked area. One way to get around this is to make a duplicate of the layer you want to snap to a guide, apply the layer mask, link that layer with the original, then select only the layer without the mask to move it around and have it snap into place. After positioned, you can delete that layer and keep the masked layer. It's a bit a of a workaround, but it works.

Are you sure the Orientation lock is turned off? Double click the home button and swipe it to the right. You will see a round arrow with the lock. If there is a lock then it's locked. If the lock does not appear then it should not be locked. You can also check on the main screen, top right corner where the battery indicator is and if the orientation lock is on, you will see a symbol.

Could not complete your request because of a program error after text layers prompt
For the past 4 months I have been receiving a message saying "Some text layers might need ot be updated before they can be used for vector based output. Do you want to update these layers now?" In the past I simply click update and go on with my business but now I am receiving a an error message saying "Could not complete your request because of a program error." If I click no on the update it loads the PSD file but then if I try to edit anything on the PSD file I receive the same error. I have done the following troubleshooting:
1. reinstalled photoshop
2. repaired mac permissions
3. deleted preferences settings in photoshop
I did create a generic photoshop file and saved it and loaded it with text and everything but with no error. But I did not receive the text layers update prompt either. This works fine, so I basically can say that I narrowed it down to the specific file or something in the file. But also I have tried 10+ different PSD files that prompt for the text layer updates and all receive the same error now.
Any thoughts?You have a bad font on the system and it knocks out the text engine. Remove it.
