Request a web preview feature

I would find it helpful to be able to preview an image as it will look outside of LR and Photoshop;s color managed environment, similar to the proofing feature in PS where you set the target as Monitor RGB. I realized no two monitors out in the world will display an image the same way, but I'm concerned about how it will look on my calibrated monitor outside of PS/LR, or even on a second, non calibrated monitor.

Just to confirm, am I correct in assuming the "HTTP Preview" and "J2EE
Preview" servers under the Basic category aren't what you are looking
for? I'm not aware of a "Web Preview" server.

Can data be passed to an external web server using the "in-course web browsing" feature in ver. 7? I would like to display a simple web page, and I would like to pass to that web page the answers to all the quiz questions, quiz score, etc. In other words, instead of passing quiz results to a SCORM-compliant LMS like Moodle, I'd like to pass that data to a Drupal Webform using a URL like:

You have to make sure every step in MOS Document ID 726414.1 that is applicable to your E-Business Suite 12.1.x release is performed. Enabling ASADMIN is just one of the steps. In spite of following all the steps in this Document you continue to get the error when clicking "Generate WSDL", please log a Service Request with Oracle Support.I will check all steps again. Epson will provide Preview feature

I am running 10.3.9 and my Epson Stylus Color 777 does not provide the Preview feature anymore...It provided that feature for the last four years. I installed no new software on the computor lately.....
While in text doument, selecting Print and then preview I get the following dialog.....”Error while printing”....
It will print more than one page... but no preview of what is on page 1,2 or 3 !!!! This occurs when trying to print a file from TextEdit, Tex-Edit Plus or from a Web page.
This is the troubleshooting shooting I have done.....trying a print procedure after each step.....
1. Turned power off, remove ac plug..powered up fifteen minutes later.
2. Moved to the trash any preference that has Epson or print in the file name.
3. Checked User/System pref’s using Preferential Treament
4. Repaired Permissions and Repair Disk while booted up from Mac OS Install Disk.
5. Booted in to Safe Boot
6. Booted into Single User Mode and ran Applejack.
7. Ran Open Firmware and Zap the PRAM..
8. And finally Log out/in to my other User which I only use for testing.
Now here is the good part....This text info was created in TextEdt and copy/paste into discussion/forum web site at a later time...
but before I posted I tried on more thing...
Turned power off, remove ac plug..powered up 5/6 hours later.
That solved the problem.. I can now preview a document before I print!!!!!
I am posting this to let you all know what worked for me and hope this will help someone else in the future.....

New Podcast Web Preview only in English !

Hi all,
I used to link to my podcast using the URL http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=XXXXXXXX
Now I'm being forwarded to the Web Preview which is working but is only in English (my podcast is mainly for an Italian audience).
I've tried also to use it from a machine with both OS and browser set to italian, but still got a non localized page.
I've seen that the podcast tech specs have not been updated. is there any way I can display the preview page in another Language?

This is a new 'facility' and isn't apparently documented. However, you could try this:
Go to the iTunes Store page for your podcast. Control-click the Podcast Image and choose 'Copy link'. See whether that link leads you to an Italian version. If it doesn't I can't suggest anything else other than to try Support:

Office web apps feature not working after setup and configuration?

Hi I have installed the SP1 update and since then my office web apps features are not coming up in SharePoint. After running the updates and attaching the farm back i see the bindings and settings are applied but somehow the office web apps features are
not coming up in SharePoint. Can someone let me know what might be the issue?

Did you delete and recreate the WAC farm after you updated?

HP Smart Web Printing feature, problem with IE7 and FireFox3

"HP Smart Web Printing" problem with Internet Explorer 7 and FireFox 3I have a laptop that came with: Windows Vista Home Premium, Internet Explorer 7, FireFox 1.9. Everything worked fine.
Recently I bought a "HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-One" printer that came with a free software "HP Smart Web Printing".
Smart Web Printing worked fine with FireFox 1.9 browser. I liked it very much, because with it, I could print only the portions from the web page that I want, thus saving on inks. It really does more than that.
With IE 7, Smart Web Printing was a disaster. IE 7 stopped working. Every time I closed a web browser window, IE7 would stop working and start all over again. It happened all the time.
On suggestion from Microsoft Windows help desk I "Reset IE Setting". This solved the IE 7 problem , but it also removed the Smart Web Printing feature.
Next, one day I downloaded latest version of FireFox browser "FireFox 3". Once again I lost the Smart Web Printing Feature, because it was not compatible with FireFox 3.
Now here I am with no "Smart Web Printing" feature at all.
Any suggestion how can I get "Smart Web Printing" feature back. I love the feature

March 27th 2009 I've just downloaded HP Smart Web Print onto an HP a6500f desktop system running Vista-64. I first installed it as a limited user and I get no icon in the IE7 taskbar. I examined the manage add-ons dialog and it was installed but the toolbar configuration has no control icon for SWP icon.
Then I logged off and logged on as a privileged user and downloaded again and tried to install. This 2nd installation actually REMOVED my first installation.
So I then downloaded for a third time and installed and it finished installing but there was no SWP icon in the tool bar. I examined the Manage Add-Ons dialog and saw one in there on the left side. I transfered the inactive icon to the active side of the dialog and then I immediately had TWO SWP icons in the task bar. (*mumble grumble*). So I removed one and all is OK now as long as I use the IE7 as a privileged user.
If I go back to being a limited user (not an unreasonable thing to do is it?) I don't have an SWP icon. Trying to install SWP application again only cause it to want to remove the existing installation.
I'm not very impressed with this behavior.
Is there anything that can be done to get SWP to work for limited users?

How to send request to web service using .pem certificate.

Dear All,
I have a .pem, WSDL file and (Request and Response format), this files are provided by the customer, now I have generated the ServiceClass using WSDL file using wsdl.exe.
Now when I send the request I am getting error as "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error
occurred on a send" when I told my customer to remove the certificate validation from their web service the "Request
and Response both are working fine".
When I opened the .pem file in notepad the content was

This issue might be due to the invalid .pem certificate file.
Make sure to include the beginning and end tags on each certificate.
The result should look like this:

(Your Intermediate certificate: DigiCertCA.crt)

How to hide "View in Browser" and "Edit in Browser" from ECB injected by Office Web Apps Feature

i am currently using custom_AddDocLibMenuItems to implement a custom ECB menu for my document library. I need to activate Office Web Apps. My custom_AddDocLibMenuItems has two items
-> custom dialog
-> open in office web apps
After activating the Office Web Apps Feature at the SiteCollection Level, this Feature "injects" in my custom menu the following
additional menu items:
-> View in Browser
-> Edit in Browser
Its curious to see that, cause implementing the js function custom_AddDocLibMenuItems with
return true should be the way to impolement a custom ECB menu without having other features/solutions injecting things in this menu!? Or did i misunderstood something here?
My question is: How can i prevent this ...
a) without deactivating the Office Web Apps Feature
b) without modifying the core.js

Links (urls) inside a pdf document are not enabled by the New firefox pdf preview feature but are in Chrome & IE

The new pdf preview feature in firefox desktop does NOT seem to activate any links (urls) inside the pdf meaning they are no longer clickable.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem.
I send out product information using pdf's with clickable links inside (as do lots of businesses) and this loss of clickable links functionality is a problem.
I also tried the same pdf files in IE and Chrome and their inline pdf previews keep all links fully working.
I know the pdf preview in firefox can be deactivated and the adobe reader can be used instead but in reality lots of people won't know how to do this or won't be troubled to find out how and will just move on.
Does anyone know if this feature is going to be fixed or supported or is it a deliberate security feature.

The PDF.js team is still hard at work on the built-in viewer. It looks like there is already a bug on file for this and they are aware of it:

Please don't post in the bug if you are just confirming that you've seen the problem too. That clutters the tickets ;)

How to include non web pages to the "Create PDF from Web Page" feature?

In Acrobat Pro (v. 10), when I use the "Create PDF from Web Page" feature, it works great for html pages, but it skips non-html links (doc, pdf, ppt, xls, etc). I need Acrobat Pro to convert those files and put them in the order as well. I don't see an option for this in settings. Is there ANY way I can do this? This is for an archiving purpose and I have 10,000 plus files to convert. Please help.

This is a question i'm trying to answer too. My issue is that I have a PDF file which itself contains links to both DOC and PDF files. The end result is that I need one consolidated PDF containing all the linked files (in order).
I can run the "create from web page" on this PDF file, and it'll download them, but not convert them. It just adds them as "jumbled" text to the end of the document. I need it to download, convert, and then append them.
So, as isunshine3 asked above, any way to have Adobe convert the files that it finds linked when running the "create from web page"?

Unable to view Report Layout in Web Preview

Hi All,
I am facing some intermittent issues with some Hyperion FR Reports on Workspace.Whenever I am trying to see the HTML view of the report it simply shows the POV and no report Layout,the complete page is blank white whereas other reports are working fine.
Even when I am trying to open it with Studio and then trying to see its web preview then also it is showing me the same behaviour.

I think you are correct as it seems the user with which I was tryoing to run the report didnt have access on Dimensionality because when I tried with a different user I was bale to see the data.
There is another issue which I am facing related to the Relative Memeber function in Essbase.I am trying to extract the Previous Year from the POV selected member using RelativeMember function in Essbase but it is giving me error as [None]Member selected in the report however the same function is giving me results when I use it in Planning connection.
Any advice?

Best Practice for Maintaining a web scoped feature

I am in the process of creating a web scoped feature that creates a few lists and some event recievers for those lists.
My plan was to have the lists created on feature activating. This way, users can simply activate the feature if they want to take advantage of this functionality on a site by site basis.
While trying to flesh out this idea, I realized that if we ever need to make changes to this feature in the future, we'll likely have to uninstall and reinstall the solution. After uninstalling/reinstalling the solution, the feature will
no longer be active on any site by default. This means that all of those users who were using the functionality will have to go in and re-activate the feature to continue using the event recievers.
What I'd like to happen is that the sites that had this feature activated, still have the feature activated after I uninstall and reinstall the solution. Those sites that didn't have the feature active, still dont' have the feature activated.
I know that there is the option to update a solution, which will do what I want, but updating is limited in that I cannot add additional items to the solution. Which means eventually I'll have to uninstall and reinstall.
Is there a good way to go about this?

Yes this is correct. Update solution works only for same set of files and features in the existing solution. If there is any change then you have to retract and deploy the new solution.

Appearance of forms in DW vs actual web preview

i was wondering why i can't get the forms in dreamweaver
design mode to look like they do in the web preview. the web
preview is great, i just would like that to show through while im
designing. it seems whenever i try to insert a form, it
automatically decides to insert half way down the div. in the
attached example the DW design mode shows the form spaced down a
few lines. i want it to start at the very top of the div. any
ideas? check the link below for a graphic of what im talking about.
