Request deletion in Infopackage
Hi,
Can you plz let me know when to delete the previous request in the Infopackage option .
thanks
Hi Maneesh,
One case where the delete option is commonly used is in the case of those datasources that can only provide full loads, no deltas. So lets say you make a selection for the month (like 05/2007) and load the data (full load), and then you need to reload the same data after a week to bring in the new records...so if you don't delete the previous request from the cube, the data will be doubled. In this case you will set up the requst deletion. Then as soon as the new request is fully loaded, the previous one is deleted.
See here for more info:

Hope this helps...

How to transport deletions of InfoPackages
Hi,
After migrating the datasources to 7.0, I am deleting the infopackages under the datasources. Some of them are prompting for a transport request, but some do not. What is the procedure for transporting those deleted infopacks that did not prompt for a transport request? Is there a place in transport connection for deleted infopacks? I could not find any thread on this. Please help.Hi Latha
"I tried that in vein. I captured the original infopackage first and then deleted, but when I deleted no prompt popped up."
This will work. Once you added the infopackage in one of the transport request, whatever changes you made to this , will be automatically saved into the same transport...
Cheers

Hi Experts,
I have doubt regarding Deletion option in Infopackage.
If we set the option for request deletion for same selection in an Infopackage, will it delete the previous request with same selection in the manage screen or just the data and will leave the request ID in manage screen??
DVHi,
It will delete the data as well the request ID.

Data request deletion problem from remote system.
Hi experts.
Now i am facing one critical problem . The description is as following:
we design the edw level in one phsical BW machine(A) which contains only dso infoprovider. This machine(A) works as datasource to provide data to another physical BW machine(B).
The dso in A system is exported as datasource , Cubes in B system load data through this datasource .
We first do the initialization with data contained on B system and then load delta data from A system. But if we want to delete some request in system A ,the system indicate this request can not be deleted unless the initialization in system B is deleted( this will lead to all the data missing in system B).
Can anyone explain this mechanism to me , please help me suggesting some kind of methods to delete the request in system A without deleting the initialization information in system B.
Thanks in advance.
Waiting online for your kindly reply.1. Ask your Basis to look into it.
2. try analyse your Baqckground Process in SM51.
3. Is your Deletion Job started immediately or any Delay?
4. If That cube or ODS has only this request which you are deleting, go with Context Menu Cube or ODS (by right click) --> Delete Contents.
Delete Contents will improve performence compare to Request Deletion..
If you have request more than this, you should not go for this.

Hey all,
how are you!
I have a little glitch in my Processchain and since I can not seem to find an answer myself I was wondering if any of you might give me some feedback
In a processchain I created, I wanted to delete the PSA-table contents and I added this process called "Deletion of requests from PSA".
But whenever I check my daily run, I have to get back (due to its "red" nature) and do manually 'rightclick>repeat' and then all seems well.
The 'red' condition upon monitoring gives me the message "no sub-request for this request"...
well...anyone?Hey Olivier,
It is a transactional load from an R/3 ODS.
In the processchain first we load an ODS and then we start with a request-deletion on the PSA.
Options:
- older then...zero days
the others are not used.
Nothing fancy

Hi all,
still we are facing spool over flow issue, even though we installed kernel level-236/64bit.
We had scheduled a batch job to convert spool request deletion date with the report-RSPO2010, and it is running fine.(it run daily before spool reorg job run). SPOOL_REORG job also finishing with out errors but still spool numbers volume is very high.
SAP_BASIS level is 18.
Any idea to over come this issue. Please guide me.Hi Nani,
Please refer to the following post:
Re: Database error: TemSe->XRTAB(3)->1 for table TST01 key
This over flow may occur due to lot of spool requests being generated as a result of certain background jobs or manual requests from users while generating some reports. During busy time of business this happens.
To know which job is responsible to genereate more number of spool request please do following:
T-Code: SM37
Job name: "*"
User name: "*"
Select "FINISHED" check box.
Job Start Condition:
From date: Past 10 days to cureent day (date) and click execute button.
In the resulting window within "Ln" column you will see a mat like symbol representing the job generated spools. Select that particualr job and right click and select "Spool List" which will display number of spools generated by the job. You can contact the owner of the job and communicate with him if the number is too big.
Please let the community know if more information is required.

We just can find only modified ,released ,released from starting requests in Transport organiser,
I suppose we cant find the deleted requests and person responsible in BW side.
The Basis people may help u in this issue as they maintain dumps of what has been loaded and deleted on a timely basis..Please do contact basis People.

BADI/BAPI/... for request deletion required
Hello,
Does anyone know if there is any BADI, BAPI or recommendable standard programme that I could use to have a request deleted (result should be the same like deleting the request in RSA1) based on the request number ?
Thanks for any advice.
Klemens G.Hello Kishore,
Thanks for the 2 tips.
The BAPI you are mentioning will still keep the request entry visible in the administration tab of the infocube. Can I get it out of there as well like highlighting the request and clicking the "Delete"-button (which will remove the request and delete its associated data from the cube)?
Kind regards,

Cube Request Deletion - Other loads possible or LOCK problems
Hi Folks,
can somebody tell me if there could be a lock situation if I have in one process chain the cube request deletion step running (cleaning out some request) and at the same time another load is running into the cube? We would not drop/re-create the index in load situation so no lock by the index operation.
Any experience?
From what I have seen there shouldn'T be a problem as the request deletion will be "scheduled" and simply execute if lock is release (if there is any) and the deletion it self places only a quick lock to determine the request ID but doesn't much impact other loads.
Is this all correct? Or any other views?
Thanks,
AxelHi,
While Loading
It is not possible to:
· Delete data
· Archive data
· Delete indexes and reconstruct them

Can any one explain how the Requests deletion in an ODS & Cube works?
Can any one explain how the Requests deletion in an ODS & Cube works & differs?
It works in the normal way as you delete a request but following are the differences between them
1) If you try to delete a request from the ODS, all the requests which are loaded after this request also get deleted, and in the cube its not.
2) You cannot delete a request from the ODS once its change log has been deleted, similary you cannot delete a request from the cube that has been compressed.
3) you can delete overlapping requests from a Cube. but in ODS its not possible.

Automatic Deletion in Infopackage
Hello all,
I have this problem, Im writing an ABAP routine in an infopackage for automatic deletion. The code ran with no errors but in the code I specified that I didnt want the previous package to be deleted if the new package has less records than the previous. The code is as follows:
<i>program conversion_routine.
form compute_ZSD_DESC
tables l_t_request_to_delete structure rsreqdelstruc
using l_request like rsreqdone-rnr
changing p_subrc like sy-subrc.
TABLES: RSMONICTAB.
DATA: rsmonictab1 LIKE RSMONICTAB OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
DATA: curr_records type i,
prev_records type i.
select * from rsmonictab into rsmonictab1
where infocube = 'ZSD_DESC'.
sort rsmonictab1 descending by timestamp.
read table rsmonictab1 index 1.
curr_records = rsmonictab1-req_insert.
read table rsmonictab1 index 2.
prev_records = rsmonictab1-req_insert.
multiply curr_records by '.8'.
loop at l_t_request_to_delete.
if prev_records <= curr_records and RSMONICTAB1-rnr = l_t_request_to_delete-rnr .
delete l_t_request_to_delete.
endif.
endloop.
endselect.</i>
Im not sure if this routine in the infopackage runs before the new record is added to the table, because if it is, then I wont be able to use a routine in the infopackage. If thats the case, does any body know another way to do this?.
Thanks so much

Request Deletion issue in Infocube
Dear Experts,
We have 2 different source systems feeding data to single infocube.
We are loading the full upload every month, so we need to delete previous request from the infocube.
Is it possible to restrict the authorization to delete request in Infocube based on sourcesystem ?
For eg, source system A admin, should be able to delete requests in infocube only from this source system only.
Is it possible?
Any advice or pointers will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
RavindraHi:
You can do it by tools given by SAP. When you go to infopackage that loads the data, there is a Checkbox for Delete Data Target. Select this. Next to it, there is a small check box. Click on it and it will give you more selection options for Delete. Select the Source System is the same and this will solve your problem.

Automatic Deletion of Infopackage
hii Experts...
I have an issue...
I have a cube. And an IP for loading data daily to the cube.
This IP takes the load to the cube for four years with the fiscal year selection as from (Current year u2013 3)/001 to (Current Year/012), here as example it will load from 2005/001 to 2008/012.
When the first load from this IP happens to the cube in the month of January here say 2009,
This IP will load the data for above selection, in this case it will load from 2006/001 to 2009/012
In this case, data for year 2006/001 to 2008/012 will get duplicated.
Thus we have to delete the IP with the selection 2005/001 to 2008/012 as mention above.
Then do the adhoc load for year (Current Year - 4)/001 to (Current Year - 4)/012, here the adhoc load will be from 2005/001 to 2005/012.
So, can i write a routine at the infopackage level to automate the IP deletion?
This is done manually now.. If it is possible, can you help me with the code?Hello,
You have issues like so better create four infopackages
IP1 : current fiscal period - 3
IP2 : current fiscal period - 2
IP3 : current fiscal period - 1
IP4 : current fiscal period
2009
IP1 : 2006
IP2 : 2007
IP3 : 2008
IP4 : 2009
DTP1,DTP2,DTP3,DTP4 with same logic.
DTP1 : 2006
DTP2 : 2007
DTP3 : 2008
DTP4 : 2009
If any load happened again with in the same year we will have delete overlapping requests in process chain and there wont be any problem.
If in Next Year 2010
IP1 : 2007
IP2 : 2008
IP3: 2009
IP4 : 2010
DTP1,DTP2,DTP3,DTP4 will have same logic.
DTP1 : 2007
DTP2 : 2008
DTP3 : 2009
DTP4 : 2010
The delete overlapping requests will not delete for the first time after year change as the selections are not matching.
At year change you need to delete DTP2(selection for DTP1(2007) loaded in current year ),DTP3,DTP4 load values of this previous year.
So at first year change these dtp needs to be deleted . You can make a logic to delte the load of DTP2,DTP3,DTP4 at year end change.
Thanks
vamsi
