Request filter on thread that I started

Referring
this related thread.
Btw, sometimes I want to find old threads that I started and see whether there are replies that I missed. My last question is like 20+ pages in "My thread" page so I have difficulty to find them. It'd be great if we can have this filter option.

Because the two versions have different titles and different feed URLs they are seen as two separate podcasts. The URLs you've given are the iTunes Store pages.
To clarify the situation:
'Outside My Head'
Store page http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/outside-my-head/id438372030
Feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/ThoughtsOutsideMyHead
'Running & Other Stuff'
Store page http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/running-other-stuff/id439282630
Feed http://runningandotherstuff.podbean.com/feed/
'Outside My Head' has only the two most recent episodes; these are also in 'Running & Other Stuff', which has some earlier episodes as well. Not quite sure how you've achieved all this: the Feedburner feed is presumably the Podbean Feed submitted to Feedburner and then the feed created from that by them submitted to iTunes - or did you create it entirely in Feedburner? - actually the descriptions are different so that seems more likely, or that you submitted another feed to Feedburner.
So, you want to keep the 'Running & Other Stuff'' version and get rid of 'Outside My Head'? You can ask to have a podcast removed from the Store - details here.
Are you happy to keep the existing feed for ''Running...'? If so, that's all you need do. Feedburner won't come into it.
If you want to do it through Feedburner it gets more complicated:
Submit the Podbean feed to Feedburner. It will rewrite the feed and give you a new URL.
In the Podbean feed, which is being read by iTunes, add the 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag as described here, pointing to the new Feedburner feed (not the one in use for the other version of the podcast). However it's quite possible that Podbean will not allow you to do this, in which case you are stuck with their feed and will have to forget about Feedburner.

  • Sleeping thread that was started by startup class: wakes up on jsp compiler run

    Hello,
    I've ecountered the following unexpected behaviour:
    A class defined as a WL startup class creates a thread in the startup() method. This
    thread then calls the Thread.sleep method.
    So far so good.
    Now each time an updated JSP is accessed by a browser, this JSP gets recompiled by
    the JSP compiler (so far so good, nothing to do with the startup thread), and each
    time this happens, the above mentioned thread wakes up as if his time were up. (Output
    is "TestStartupThread: Woken up: timer timed out", see code below)
    Anybody know anything??
    Code of startup class ( = thread class) listed below.
    Dirk
    import java.util.Hashtable;
    import weblogic.common.*;
    public class TestStartupThread extends Thread implements T3StartupDef, T3ShutdownDef
    private static TestStartupThread testThread = null;
    /** controls running of thread, will be set to false when server shuts down
    private static volatile boolean runThread = true;
    public void setServices(T3ServicesDef t3def) {  }
    public String startup(String s, Hashtable ht) {
    testThread = new TestStartupThread();
    testThread.start();
    return "ok";
    public String shutdown(String s, Hashtable ht) {
    runThread = false;
    testThread.interrupt();
    return "ok";
    public void run() {
    while (runThread) {
    try {
    System.err.println("TestStartupThread: now going to sleep");
    Thread.sleep(1000*60*60);
    System.err.println("TestStartupThread: Woken up: timer timed out");
    } catch (InterruptedException ie) {
    System.err.println("TestStartupThread: Woken up by InterruptedException");

    Looks like a good use for WL time services.

    I am getting exactly the same problem, but I did something
    similar (to this & mine) in WL 4.5.1 and it worked OK.
    About the best solution we can come up with is to test the time
    before and after wake up, if the time is less then go back
    to sleep for the new amount of time ...
    Does anyone know how to properly do this in WL 5.1 ?
    I notice this thread is a bit old ....

    Hi. Is there any way I can create a filter to see only discussions that I started? I'd like to review questions I've had in the past and the answers to them.
    I recall that an earlier forum UI allowed me to filter on my own discussions. I can't see how to do this with the current UI.

    hi
              We just encountered this problem while load testing using JMeter. While it may not be the same scenario, we have found that we can consistently trigger this error if:
              a) multiple threads from the same client are invoking the service (i.e. a JMeter using JavaSamplerClient can do this)
              b) the web service is conversational according to the polling design pattern recommended in the WLW doco: i.e.
              startQuery()(one-way) conversation phase = start
              checkQueryStatus() conversation phase = continue
              fetchQueryResponse()conversation phase = finish
              c) buffering is enabled for the startQuery() operation.
              d) the number of threads > 3 (might occur very infrequently <= 3 - cant remember)
              This is reproducable in our WLS/WLW 8.1 SP2/SP3 environment.
              With buffering enabled - errors occur
              With buffering not enabled - no errors
              On reflection, buffering isn't really needed for our usage so we removed it, however the errors might indicate a bug or unsupported use case

  • RMAN Restore Error - media recovery requesting unknown log: thread 1 seq 7

    Im using RMAN to copy a database to another server. The new server is IDENTICAL to the old one. By identical I mean it has the same sever name, ip address, operating system, Oracle version and directory structure.
    The new server already has the instance created, (same name as the old server instance, paths etc)
    The backup files have been manually restored to the new server, same locations as they were on the old one. ( RMAN did an automatic controlfile backup and also the archivelogs on the old server ).
    Ive restored the control file on the new server from the RMAN backup pieces.
    Ive catalogued the RMAN backup pieces on the new server.
    I know the last sequence available in the archivelogs backup by running on the new server :

    So far its all going swimmingly well.
    Now I want to restore the datafiles and recover. So I ran :
    RMAN run { restore database; recover database; alter database open resetlogs; }
    This gave me the output below which goes great but I get a final error, I think the error is because its looking for an archive log thats not in the backup set, but it should be. However, I think SCN 560851 is for a log that hadnt been created yet on the old server when the backup was ran ?
    How do I address resolving the error ? Its worth pointing out log, "archive log filename=C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\FLASH_RECOVERY_AREA\SAT\ARCHIVELOG
    \2011_05_11\O1_MF_1_6_6WOK1X4W_.ARC recid=10 stamp=750881741" isnt on the old server either which is why its not in the backup set.
    I can do a alter database open reset logs but Id prefer to know why its failing.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    You need to do incomplete recovery i.e. to ask RMAN to restore/recover to some specific point in time. This is usually done with some UNTIL clause or SET UNTIL statement. Example in your case:
    SET UNTIL SEQUENCE 7;See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14194/rcmsynta065.htm#RCMRF160.

  • Unbalanced total requests of execute thread

    Hi,
    I am in wls7.0sp1 running on win2k with 4 processors. when I monitor the managed
    servers, I found out the total requests of the thread in default thread queue
    varies a lot. the The servers were started couples days ago, the throughput are
    around 200,000.
    First, Socket Reader. There 2 of them have over 5000 requests, and couple less
    than 100, and the rest just have 1 request.
    Second, there is a thread always has "Read Multicast Msg Fragment" as the request,
    my guessing is that this thread is dealing with the multicast, but it only has
    less than 20 total requests. But from the monitor - cluster I can the fragment
    received is over 50000.
    Third, the rest of the threads are used by application. I have only one web application,
    no stand alone app. so the requests are all from servelt/jsp. some threads have
    more than 50000 requests, some only have 2 digits. one of the servers has some
    threads have 0 requests.
    why the usage of thread are not balanced?
    Thanks

    I don't know what the algorithm for the dispatching of the requests is

    Why do you think that some of the threads are starving? All idle threads
    should be waiting on a lock and this only means that the are not
    currently executing any requests. When a thread is waiting for a lock it
    cannot be starving since it is not even scheduled for execution.

    It's called in your thread. Although on the server BEA does not
    recommend doing that, but we're using it and haven't seen any issues
    with that.

    The threads do consume some memory and the JVM has some overhead
    associated with the number of threads to manage but this is probably
    not
    too much if you are creating a reasonable number of threads (we've run
    in some cases with up to 200 threads for I/O bound applications).

    If you had a cluster and the number of requests was not balanced on

  • How to set request number of info package using start routine

    Hi All,
    I have a specific requirement in which I need to upload only selective request nos from PSA to DSO.
    Any one can suggest how to set request number of info package using start routine or any other mode so that only selective request should proceed using DTP?
    Thanks
    Sangita

    You'll probably want to do this in a start routine.  It is probably not advisable to hard-code the technical name of the InfoPak.  They seem to remain the same upon transport, unlike DTP technical names which are locally generated.
    I would do a SQL select like this in a start routine, and then filter based on the results of the SQL.  You'll probably want to sort the results by date and time, both descending.  Or do a MAX in the SQL.
    Please let me know if this isn't clear.
    select q~rnr q~logdpid q~tdatum q~tuzeit
    from rsreqdone as q
      inner join rsldpio as p
        on p~logdpid = q~logdpid
    where p~objvers = 'A'
    and p~logdpid like 'ZPAK%'
    and p~source = 'your data source'

  • Finding threads that have new messages

    Like a lot of people I post suggestions in reply to new topics. I don't want to subscribe to every thread that I take part in, that would be a lot of emails coming to me! But I do want to go to My Posts and quickly see what threads have new messages.
    The way My Posts works though is the threads are shown in posting date order, meaning I think the date that I last added a message myself. Very often a thread may be quiet for a while, or I'm following along and have nothing new to add. When a new message is added it can be several pages back in the My Posts list, making it very hard to see them.
    One work around I use is to go to the second page of My Posts, and then change the range=10 to range=1000, which then shows the last 1000 posts. Next I look at the page source and do a search for "updated-16x16.gif", the graphic that sits next to any threads that have unread messages in them. If the first one it finds is at the bottom of the page source, I know there are no new messages. If it's found earlier, I can see the thread ID just below the one that is found.
    Now, I suspect that there could be an easier way to work than this! Is there a built in way in the forum to see just the threads that have new messages, that I haven't discovered? Or could there be such a feature at some future date?

    Hi, Colin -
    Is there a built in way in the forum to see just the threads that have new messages, that I haven't discovered?
    Unfortunately, no.
    Or could there be such a feature at some future date?
    That has been requested several times, and has been responded to by the Hosts that it is on the to-do list. When it might eventuate has not been specified.
    What works for me - I habitually visit only about 15 forums; actually, it's 6 category pages, each of which includes between 1 and 5 forums. New replies to topics float those topics to the top of the listings on the lower part of the category pages. Since I visit those categories several times a day, I don't miss any new replies.
    I do use the My Posts feature - I go there first, respond to any new replies shown on the first page, and then start travelling category pages. To make it easy I keep links to those 6 category pages in the toolbar favorites in my browser, so any one of them is but a single click away.

  • Fixing permissions problem on Mac OS that impedes start of Adobe applications

    See this article for a suggestion for how to deal with a cause of After Effects (and other applications) taking a long time to start on Mac OS:
    fixing permissions problem on Mac OS that impedes start of Adobe applications
    This same issue also affects the functioning of Dynamic Link and warnings regarding QuickTime not being installed.

    "Later I used DirectoryChooser. This is working fine but the pop-up is always coming behind javafx applet when started in browser. Note: This is working fine if we run as stand alone applicationYou should file a bug/feature request about this against the Runtime project:

    Exception in thread "AWT-AppKit" java.awt.HeadlessExceptionSee:
    http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-20784 "Mac: Headless environment issue, MacOSX"
    The above issue discusses some potential workarounds which may (or may not) work in your situation.
    Try the latest 8-ea build (available at http://jdk8.java.net/download.html).
    The graphics environment is no longer forced to be headless in the java 8 trunk (the jira case I linked is closed as fixed), but it may take a week or two for the fix to propagate to the jdk8 early access download page.
    Also note that this kind of call from a JavaFX application to a Swing component isn't really a supported configuration (embedding JavaFX in a JFXPanel in a Swing application is supported, but other forms of interaction between JavaFX and Swing such as JavaFX opening Swing dialogs are not). That's not to say that it might not work, it's just that you shouldn't expect it to work now or continue to work in the future (especially in an applet deployment context where the window handling is more complex for the underlying frameworks due to the browser embedding). Further facilities to ease Swing and JavaFX integration are planned for JavaFX 8 (http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-12100 "Swing components inside JavaFX"), but I don't know if it would mean that the scenario you are trying to achieve would be supported.
    A further alternative you might have would be to deploy your application as a Swing application rather than a JavaFX application and wrap your JavaFX content in a JFXPanel. It is likely that opening a Swing JFileChooser would work in such a mixed code scenario, though I have not tried it.

  • How to stop thread permanatly after start?

    hello,
    i am using one thread . that thread start with time delay 10 seconds as follow,
    class tableUpdateThread implements Runnable
        Thread thread;
        int i,j;
        tableUpdateThread()
            thread = new Thread (this, "Table updation");
            thread.start();
        public void run()
            System.out.println (" Update thread starts........");
    try
                      System.out.println (" Update thread starts 4........");
                      Thread.sleep(10000);
                  } catch(InterruptedException ee)
                      System.out.println ("");
    }but, in one point in program, i stopped the thread by,
    tableUpdateThread.thread.stop();but, the thread again started after 10 seconds.
    Whhen I go to another panel, I need to stop the thread permanatly.
    But, in panel 1 I need the thread update the JTable every 10 seconds.
    but in panel 2 I need to stop the thread completely.
    how can I do it.
    please help me.

    Thread.stop has been depracated as unsafe.
    The legitimate way for a thread to stop is for it to return from the run() method.
    Typically you do this by interrupting the thread. If the thread is in sleep or wait this will trigger an InterruptedException. If not, it sets a flag, which the thread should check when it does a loop.
    (If a thread calls sleep or wait after being interrupted, it throws InterruptedException immediately.)

    I keep getting this message every time that i start my computer, but i can still connect to the Internet, and do whatever i could do with a working router and modem.
    The server 192-----etc. at WRT54GS requires a user-name and password.
    Warning: This server is requesting that your user-name and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).
    Then it asks for a user-name and password. What password!?!!!?!? WHAT USERNAME!??!??!?.......if anyone can help i would appreciate it.

    the router password is admin by default. Leave the username blank. But for this issue you may check the security setting of your internet options. Disable it from there.

  • Thread that stopped responding

    Hi All,
    I have a problem i don't know how to solve - i have a server written in NIO that accepts connections in one thread and do other stuff in other threads.
    After about 2.5 day, the thread accepting the connections stopped responding without giving me any warning - i tried to connect and i can't (i don't receive even an ack), and when i use a profiler i don't see the thread there. But the port on which it listens is still busy (i see that in netstat).
    The run method is surrounded by try-catch so i thought that i'll see if the thread dies - even in throwable, yet i don't see anything in the log.
    public void run()
            openServerSocket();
            while (true)
                try
                    serveConnection(); // The select and handling
                catch (Throwable t)
                    log.log(Level.SEVERE, "Problem serving connections: ", t);
        }What can i check next? How should i approach this problem?
    Kind regards,
    Snayit

    Haven't you got log-files of your long-running process? If not I guess, you've learnt something now.
    If it's a global resource that was depeleted you might find something in /var/log/* (especially messages, maybe syslog).
    If all that fails start up a debugger and attach to the process if possible to see where it hangs.

  • How do I sound an alarm if a thread fails to start from the weblogic startup script?

    Here's the problem. I have a critical java program for my web app that
    is its own thread and is started by the weblogic startup script when
    the weblogic server is started. The constructor of this thread will
    throw exceptions and send out emergency emails to the Sys Ops people
    if it cant instantiate itself correctly. The only time that it wont be
    able to do that is if it cant read the email property from a config
    file to know where to send sys ops email to. In that situation what
    would be the best way to alert someone that the thread failed to
    start?

    1) Post a console message to the admin (thro' net send in NT).
    2) Hard code a default email address (easiest).
