Request for an arrow key app for ipad

I am trying to use ipad pages to type up some ideas on the road.
I am really missing arrow keys on the keyboard.
I find apple's loupe solution awkward, incumbent and inherently un-apple-like.
Is it all possible that one of you smart developers could develop an app that would add arrow keys to the ipad keyboard?
You could make millions...

Probably the primary reason that you don't see something like this is because Apple prevents developers from customizing the keyboard. I found this thread because I am an iPhone/iPad developer and I'm looking for information on how to customize the keyboard for a data entry app that I'm working on. From my research, it sounds like there are hacked ways to customize the keyboard to some degree, but it is not easily supported for developers, and they can reject your app for a customized keyboard. Apple is very stubborn about their user interface choices, and it sometimes results in a poor user experience with some of their software.

IOS Update Request For iPad:

Could Function Arrow Soft-Keys [<> ] Be Added to iPad iOS Please.. So, you can edit links, as the Safari Address Bar Cursor, always goes to the end of the address link & you cannot scroll across to the left to edit address link etc..

False replacement request for ipad

I recently bought an ipad 3g for my trip to Germany. Apple has just sent me an email that my replacement request of a new ipad has been sent to an address in Montreal and I should send my ipad back to them or I will be charged. I did not request the replacement and I am worried that this is some sort of scam. The serial number of the ipad matched mine. Also, when I tried to see if my ipad serial number is registered I am told that my serial number is for a product that has been replaced. I do not know how to contact apple canada from germany and try to correct the situation. I am also very worried that someone has access to my apple identity. I changed my password. Any advice about what I should do would be appreciated. I suppose I will hear from apple when they do not receive my ipad. Also, I checked out the address where they were sending the new ipad--It was to a very upmarket hotel in Montreal, Hôtel Le St-James. It seems suspicious to me that they are delivering to a hotel. I hope someone can give me some advice.

That would be great if the community hosts were involved. Perhaps they could discuss whether I should post this in another more general thread. HT4623 password request for Ipad backup.

in restoring Ipad to a previous backup in Itunes, the software asks for a Password 'Enter the password to unlock your IPad backup' is the specific wording. What password does this refer to?,Apple ID password and Ipad 4-digit code didn't work.

Sounds like this backup is encrypted (a separate password option on your iPad Summary in iTunes) and if you don't know that password you can't install it for security reasons.

Where are the arrow keys on the IPAD keyboard?

The actual answer is that there are no arrow keys that allow you to move up, down, left or right when typing with the iPad keyboard. There are keyboards that you can buy to use with your iPad that may offer that function to you.
You can search the web for iPad compatible keyboards that you can purchase.
But the other posters make sense in that you can position the cursor wherever you want with a touch of your finger. It works much better when you zoom in so that you can make the text and the spaces in between words and letters much larger.

Trying to use function keys (like windows) on apple wireless keyboard for ipad, as well as arrow keys.

I am connecting to my work PC through my ipad. My main program i use for work is a DAS based (ancient, i know.) Anyways, i have to be able to use function keys, i can touch the screen so if i can not it isn't the end of the world. But it would make things MUCH more easier. Is there a way to program the F1-F12 keys on the wireless keyboard to use like windows, rather than the brightness/volume/play buttons.
Also, my arrow keys don't seem to work right. If i am using notepad, they don't work, unless i have entered down 6 lines, the arrows will work as far as those 6 lines, but won't go down on there own. If i am on the internet and there is a drop down menu, the arrow keys don't work either. As well as in my work program, they don't work at all, it's as if the arrow keys don't register.
Help?!

Just added information. In my work program, i can use the onscreen keyboard (but it takes up half the screen so i can not see what i am doing. From that keyboard, and can toggle back and forth from the regular keyboard, the FN screen for function keys, and the CTRL keyboard. This is why i am confused as to why the function keys and arrows will not work on the wireless, yet they have the keyboard on the screen.

App / Browser Support for iPad bluetooth keyboard

I recently purchased the Zagg Slim Book (a bluetooth keyboard case) for my iPad air 2.
The main reason I bought this was so that I could use cloud IDE (code editors) such as cloud9 and code anywhere.
However,
With these websites and other similar websites, i cannot use the arrow keys and on some websites I cannot even type at all within the site.
I used a keyboard checker website to see if it recognized my key presses, and while I was able to type, it said I was not pressing anything.
- Note: I tried 5 different browsers including safari.
This leads me to believe that the keyboard is not doing the typing directly; rather, it must be handing the key presses off to the iPad which handles the output in some special way.
So,
Can someone confirm what I am assuming?
I need to know how a bluetooth ipad keyboard is different than a normal keyboard so that I can know which one (if any) I should buy in order to use it within websites.
- is it up to the keyboard manufacturers to determine how the output works?
- Does apple have some sort of standard or api which manufacturers use to make their keyboard?
- is there some sort of keyboard settings that I can change in the iPad settings that will change the output type?
Sorry if this belongs in developer section, I am hoping this is the right place.

What does http://developer.apple.com/ have to do with reviewing an app? Why aren't you downloading from the App Store?
I've never had any login there result in a request for any app....

Can't set up FiOS Mobile Remote app for iPad

I was able to register the FiOS Mobile Remote app for iPad with my login and password but I'm not able to set it up.
I follow the instructions to
click Menu
click Widgets
click FiOS Mobile Remote
I get the following error message:
Mobile Remote
Network Error
Unable to process your request at this time.
Please try again.
If the broblem continues, please try restarting your Set-Top Box
I've turned off the power to the cable twice but still get the same message.
How can I get the app working?

Login to your iDisk on the windows machine and then click on the Home on the left.
Upload whatever documents you want access to on your iPad to your iDisk.
Once you have the desired files on your iDisk you go to the app on your iPad you wish to work with tap the sharing button (little arrow going down into a box) which will give you an "iDisk" option and you'll see the files there.

How do I copy/paste a part FROM GarageBand for iPad TO another app?

This is a feature that it looks like Apple have half-implemented but it's not complete...
I can paste parts TO GarageBand for iPad from numerous other apps no problem. I've done this with everyday looper, sunrizer, dm1, nlog, etc.
But when I try to copy parts FROM GarageBand it fails. I need to do this to, say, take a part I'm working on, listen to it in everyday looper, and compose an NLog synth part over the top. Or to take a part from GarageBand, add effects in Moog Filtron, and then paste it back to GarageBand. This is basic stuff you need to be able to do if you are using an app like GarageBand as your songwriting environment.
With functionality like this potentially blocked or not implemented, it makes GarageBand not the production solution it could be. Very much hope I'm being stupid and you can point out the way...

Doesn't seem possible at the moment. It may well be in the pipeline already but you could always drop a line to GarageBand for iPad Feedback requesting such a feature...

Lost in app purchases on amplitube for ipad

After recently updating to the ios5 version on my iPad, I found that an app I use constantly called Amplitube for iPad didn't work properly. Without thinking too deeply, I deleted the app and reinstalled it, which caused the software to work fine again. The problem is however that I had made a substantial number of in app purchases that now have disappeared. I know this is stupid of me, but it was a case of urgency that caused me to act without thinking too much.
I've contacted the app manufacturer and also itunes support, but as yet haven't resolved the issue. Is there anything simple I can do?

Photoshop CC for PC - ctrl-alt-arrow key Does Nothing

I installed Photoshop CC on a new PC, and the ctrl-alt-arrow keystroke does nothing. It used to shrink the marquee around pixels and move the selection by 1 pixel. Now it does nothing. Using shift-ctrl-alt-arrow shrinks the marquee around pixels and moves the selection by 10 pixels, which is what it's supposed to do. Any help is appreciated.

I'm re-reading your posts, and I'm guessing you started having this problem when you installed on the new PC.
What I'm thinking is that unchecking the hotkeys is not enough, the hotkey utility may be still be "trapping" the ctrl-alt-arrow keystroke.
I decided to check this for myself. First I open the task manager in Windows 7. and saw a process called "igfxHK.exe" I ended that process and started Photoshop and then tried ctrl-alt-arrow and to my surprise, that does work. igfxHK = Intel Graphics HotKey.
Now the next trick is to block it from loading in the first place. I guess you could try to move or rename it. I don't want to ask you to adjust entries in the Registry yet. I have to go in a few minutes.
