  • BIOS 1.8 for 875P NEO Series

Just curious if anyone has downloaded and successfully flashed their 875P NEO boards to the current BIOS version of 1.8. If so, is your system stable?
Is another BIOS update just around the corner for the 875P or is the 1.8 the latest and greatest BIOS update?
    Thanks for any info,

... what did they correct in the 1.93 Beta?
    As advised:
    875P Neo MS-6758 BIOS V1.9 Beta 3 (1.93) dated 2003/10/02
This BIOS fixes the following problems of the previous version:
    - update microcodes,
    - modify HT support,
    - Prescott support,
    - fixed ICH5 SATA HDD incompatibilities issue,
    - remove chinese language support
The promised DOT option still isn't available in BIOS setup!
Note some of the changes from the previous 1.82 Beta were not put in the 1.80 Release ... so which new fixes go in the final release (and when) is still uncertain.

  • For 875P Neo-FISR Sandra reports DIMM 1 "Empty" -- 512 chip not showing up

About 2 months ago, I assembled an 875P Neo-FISR with an Intel P4 3.20E GHz 1MB L2cache and 800 MHz FSB.  I installed 2 Kingston KVR400X64C3A 512MB PC3200 CL3 184 pin DIMMS, one in slot 1 and the other in slot 3 so as to get dual channel mode.  The system reported that I only had 512MB memory.  I tried reseating the DIMMS several times with the same result.  I then moved the two DIMMS to slots 2 and 4, after which the system reported 1GB RAM, and the dual channel mode appeared to be in effect.
Today, I purchased two more identical DIMMS (PC3200 512MB, same mfctr and model #) and inserted them into slots 1 and 3 for a total of 4 512MB DIMMS.  The system reports that I have 1.5MB RAM, and Sandra reports that slot 1 is "empty."
    I'm not happy.
I'm running a new copy of XP Pro, which came with Service Pack 2 installed.  I have a variety of peripherals, WD IDE drives, ATI video card, etc. -- none of which should have anything to do with this.  The original problem appeared at the most basic level of installation.

If the slot was dead two months ago it wouldn't get any better with time.
If you use only slot one does it work?

  • Best mem for 875P Neo-FIS2R

i think im gonna order this board next week, i will have a 2.8C or 3.0C cpu with it. now im wondering what mem i should buy. i want 1gb of the fastest. if it is extremely expensive compared to the next best brand i would also like to now. thanks

I have Kingston PC3500 and it has issues with my MSI 875P neo LSR mobo. I have been in contact with Kingston and they say they got a newer revision that will work, but I still dont have it yet. Hoping they will replace mine ($304 for 1024mb) with the newer revision.
If you deside to go with Kingston, call before you order and get the specific model number needed to get the good stuff

And can someone help me on how to connect the LED cables? i can't make both the LED works.
    Thanks!

  • Where to find M.A.T. in BIOS of a 875P Neo LSR?

    Hi y'all!
    Currently I'm using:
    P4 3.0GHz 800MHz FSB
    2*512MB Kingston HyperX PC3200 CL2
MSI 875P Neo LSR (BIOS v1.6)
    I'm wondering where I can enable P.A.T. or MSI's M.A.T.?
After reading something about BIOS version 1.6 enabling M.A.T. , I flashed from 1.2 to 1.6.
But where can I find this new option in my BIOS??
    Thank's :]
    Best regards,
    Arjan

Okay... Okay... This is generally for MSI, no reason to take offence.. anyone. Or maybe just the guy who never used computer(apparently) but designed BIOS for this board.
I Have NEO FISR2 motherboard, and the problems I have seem to be something like people here have.
PAT isn't enabled if you overclock. What ever you do, Ultra Turbo or turbo.. nothing helps. Is there a reson for this?
If I drop memory to 333 and raise FSB, should the numbers in BIOS at memory speed show what it actually is, never have done so... And if I raise FSB and memory speed is at 400MHz why isn't PAT enabled, memory isn't overclocked?
If I try to change manually setting for memory, like cas etc... Should it do something, or are these there just for fun, so you could IMAGINE the effects on your board.
Almost all memory related settings are in BIOS for some other reason than adjusting setting on this motherboard, they don't affect anything. At least not for me. Maybe I was wrong thinking this board could be user for overclocking, those volt settings propably are there for show too. Nothing to do with overclocking, because you will never get everything out from this board. At least not if BIOS is working like this.
I did simple test, raised volt for memory to 2.90. Whopee. Raised FSB to 230, and left the memory setting at 400MHz. Changed by hand Cas setting to more relaxed ones.
Quess, which changes of these actually did something? FSB and Volts. For some unbelievably stupid reason board changes automatically both CAS(VERY RELAXED) settings and memory setting. Try Sandra, see for yourself.
Please, let me know if I'm doing something wrong, this is new board and new BIOS, maybe I'm missing something...
OR this is the most lamest try I have ever seen to put out decent BIOS. Nothing makes sense, thank you very much for wasting hours and hours of my time while I was trying to figure out why everything didn't work like I expexted, after all, there where so many "pretty buttons to press" that did nothing.
    ARGH! X(

    Number of Proccessors: 2?
    External Clock: 200MHz
    Current Speed: 3200MHz
Device manager confirms this in Win XP Pro SP1, Tried uninstalling one of the cpu's reboot and it's still their 2 cpu's
Some help would be very nice TA!
    TIA
    Regards CROBBO
theres nothing wrong with those readings m8.
you have 2 processors because of hyperthreading. windows sees it at 2 separate cpus.  you external clock is your fsb, which should be 200. this is quadpumped so essentially it is 800mhz, then your current speed is your cpus clock speed and since you have a 3.2p4 E it tells you its running at 3200mhz = 3.2Ghz

  • Weird Floppy Settings in BIOS V1.6 875P NEO

I flashed successfully to the 1.6 BIOS, but my setting for the Boot up Floppy seek gives me obviously incorrect selections.
It should be "enabled" or "disabled" but it gives me these choices instead:
    "8 Clocks" or "128 mb".
Anyone have the same settings issue?
    Phil.

Yeah i had exactly the same (that option seems corrupted after every flash -ive tried 1.0>1.2 1.2>1.4 1.4>1.5 and 1.5>1.6)
But it will reset to the correct values of "Enabled and disabled" once youve saved your BIOS settings

  • HELP ! 875P Neo JAUD1 for front Audio with Thermaltake XASER III

I am trying to connect my new Thermalake case V2000A (the aluminium tower with 7 FANs) front (well top) audio connetors to JAUD1 on the motherboard (875P Neo FiS2R)
The XASER III wires say :
EAR L jumped with EAR L (Case manual says connect two "EAR L" to "BLINE_OUT_L" and "Line out_L" on motherboard)
EAR R jumped with EAR R (Case manual says connect two "EAR R" to "BLINE_OUT_R" and "Line out_R" on motherboard)
GND (Case manual says connect to "GROUND" or "AGND" on motherboard)
MIC IN (Case manual says connect to "MIC INPUT" or "MIC 2" on motherboard)
MIC VCC (Case manual says connect to "MIC POWER" or "MICPWR" on motherboard)
The JAUD1 connector on the motherboard comes with TWO green jumpers out of factory. One jumper shorting pins 9 & 10 and the other jumper shorting pins 5 & 6.
Page 2-25 of the motherboard manual says:
Pin 1 - AUD_MIC Front Panel Microphone input signal
Pin 2 - AUD_GND Ground used by analog Audio Circuits
    Pin 3 - AUD_MIC_BIAS Microphone Power
Pin 4 - AUD_VCC Filtered +5V used by analog audio circuits
Pin 5 - AUD_FPOUT_R Right Channel audio signal to front panel
Pin 6 - AUD_RET_R Right channel audio signal return from front panel
pin 7 - HP_ON Reserved for future use to control headphone amplifier
pin 8 - KEY No pin
pin 9 - AUD_FPOUT_L Left channel audio signal to front panel
pin 10 - AUD_RET_L Left channel audio signal return from front panel
    Now, I assume :
Case "MIC VCC" should go on Pin 3 (or maybe Pin 4 ?)
Case "MIC IN"    should go on Pin 1
Case "GND"       should go on Pin 2
Case "EAR R"     should go on Pins 5 & 6 (I need to REMOVE the green jumper ?)
Case "EAR L"      should go on Pins 9 & 10 (I need to REMOVE the green jumper ?)
    Thanks for all help !

I have yet to put the PCI cards inside but so far I was able to reach that end corner of the motherboard with the case top sound cables.
As soon as I get answers on this Forum to my queries from more knowledged people about the right cabling (this and other posts on firewire and something else), I will then be able to finish all connections and finally place also the PCI cards and the video card and will let you know if it all went ok without the sound case cable stretching too much.
    Thanks.

  • New Bios for K9N Neo-F. Is it possible?

It has possibility of the MSI to launch a Bios for the K9N Neo-F, with more options of OC? how adjustment of VCore, for example?

But it does not use same chipsets of Abit KN9S, that is very good of OC?
no idea for Abit KN9S, to your main question again don't think MSI will add more OC options in futures BIOS in that board, but that is my guess only.

Do you need me to upload the bios file? because I believe that the msi website has the 70R archive which made my laptop useless.
you mean you don't want latest version [70S or 70R],
