Request for Info regarding MAM 2.5

Hi,
I would like to know the following details regarding MAM2.5
Our client wants to use MAM 2.5 for his mobile configuration. His version of R3 is 4.6B.
1. Does he have to buy MAM2.5 components or can we use it with out any fee. Is MAM mobile component license based on per device.
2. Can we custom tailor the MAM 2.5 hand held application. MAM supports RFID. Can we modify it so that it works with bar codes instead
3. In the functional doc of MAM 2.5,it is mentioned that MAM needs to be configured at R3,Web AS and mobile device. Does he have to buy separate licenses for it. Where is the MAM component fro SAP Web AS available. The Web AS version is 6.4 SP14.

  • Request for info regarding MAC address population in computer objects

    Hi,
    I am trying to determine how MAC address information is populated in computer objects. I had assumed initially that the hardware scan would be used, but observation shows this information
    to be obtained prior to any hardware inventory.
    I have laptops that are primarily connected via VPN, and before long their objects lose the internal network interface's MAC address. When I try to rebuild them, they fail to PXE boot. I have
    found that importing a CSV of host / MAC / SMBIOD GUID will update the object (rather than having to delete and recreate it) which works temporarily. The MAC will eventually disappear, and the device fail to PXE boot.
    I have thousands of these devices to manage, and it is already difficult enough having a CAS and two primaries (the windows Deployment Service on a DP only cares about devices in the DPs primary
    site, and so devices that move site are a real pain already, try finding that anywhere in the OSD reference documents!)
    I'm assuming now that this information is pulled from the actual client-server connection, and therefore is dynamic(ish), like IP information. If this is the case, more detail around that process,
    where to find evidence of  that process occurring would be very useful.

    The MAC is updated by hardware inventory and heartbeat discovery.

    I received this request for info at 5:30 am this morning. It doesn't look legitimate.

    I did not reply at all. Now and then, these bogus messages show up in Mail with the purpose of gaining access to accounts. I hope everyone will avoid this and all other spam.
    Yeah, these emails have been around for many years. The old rule applies. If a company you deal with wats information, they will firstly address you by name and secondly tell you to go to the appropriate website, sign in and apply the information there. Never follow a link they give. Never reply to the email. Never bounce the email. Trash the email. They are very easy to spot.

  • For info regarding refused connections on iChat

    This is for info as my problem was solved last night. After a whole week of frustration I finally managed to see and talk to my parents who live in France. We bought the New iMac at the same time and I set theirs up on my last trip to France a couple of weeks ago. I tested iChat AV from there with a friend in the US and everything was fine. I came back 10 days ago and I set up my iMac with DSL/Earthlink using a Zyxel modem (directly, no router). Surfing the web and e-mailing worked within minutes, so I was confident that I would be able to establish a video conf with my parents. Wrong! While I was the one initiating the connection, I had the message that it didn't work because I had refused the connection. It took me a week and trying other Internet connections either at work or at friends who have other providers (by the way, it worked everywhere else) to figure out that in order for iChat to work, the modem had to be configured as a "bridge" and the Network Prefs have to be set on PPPoE. I hope this helps. It worked for me.

    Thanks a lot for all your suggestions. Indeed, opening the other port went fine. But I don't have that modem anymore. I decided to go with Cable instead of DSL. My parents in France have a DSL connection 8M down /1M up and my 3M down/384 k up couldn't keep up (they could see me fine, I checked my upload and it was steady at 300kbps), but my download was all over the map and I was getting "people smear" all over my iChat window. Now that I have 8M down and 768 k up, it is so nice. I believe iChat detected that we both have at least 500 kbps and that bumped up the resolution too. Very nice!

  • ASUG 2008 Annual Conference, request for info

    All,
    I am very excited about the upcoming ASUG 2008 Annual Conference in Orlando, May 4 - 7, and I hope to see many of you there.  For registration info, please visit:
    http://www.asugannualconference.com/
    Meanwhile, we are planning a new session, 'How to Manage Organizational Change in WF/BPM-Enabled Organizations'... quite a lengthy title, but a very important topic.  As a workflow developer and administrator, I constantly struggle with users who transfer and no longer want to perform the workitems left in their queue, users who want substitutes set up (but refuse to log on), and other organizational/infrastructure issues.
    It would be great if you could post your thoughts, questions, and concerns (or even your solutions!) to these type of issues.  For example, if you are running multiple platforms (4.6 and SRM, or whatever) how do you ensure consistency in the assignment of substitutes across platforms ?  What part does the HR organization play in managing the creation of new users ?  Transfers ?  Terminations ?
    We have many other exciting sessions planned for this conference, so I hope you will make plans to attend.
    Cheers,
    Sue

    I am afraid I don't know how to make this Sticky... Maybe someone can email me the answer ?? [email protected]
    As far as sharing material, ASUG has a non-disclosure agreements, which prohibits me from sharing the materials to the world at large.  I agree that it would be nice to share ASUG presentations with everyone here at SDN/BPX, but I am not allowed to do so.
    Thanks for the pointer about stickiness.

    <b>Configuration for Witholding Tax</b>
    SPRO>IMG>Financial Accounting>Accuntas Receivable and Accounts Payable>Business Transaction>Incoming invoices/credit meos>Carry out and check settings for withholding taxes.
    1) <b>Maintain tax codes</b>: In OBC7 maintain the withholding tax codes and their attributes like percentages and basis like gross or net etc.
    2) <b>Maintain the account determination</b> for each and every tax codes through OBYS.
    Other optionals:
    Withholding tax is only relevant for specific posting transactions in certain countries and even there, only for some groups of vendors. You therefore determine, depending on your company code, business partner, and the business transaction, the cases in which the fields for withholding tax become ready for input .
    1) Maintain the country keys (The standard system delivers most of the countries forms to be submitted to the tax authorities)
    2) Maintain Formulas OB98 (if needed, Like US and Japan need scaled basis calculation.)
    3) The recipient categories
    <b>Master Data andTransactions</b>
    You need to specify in the vendor master record, a withholding tax code to enable the system to calculate the tax amount, which defaults when you enter a line item if the vendor is subject to withholding tax.
    If a vendor is exempt from withholding tax, you must specify this in the master record the details of  exemption certificate and the date up to which the exemption is valid. If an exemption exists, the system either posts no withholding tax or the reduced tax rate.

  • Request for info on wide install of Client 8.1.7

    Hi friends,
    We are on the road to install Oracle Client 8.1.7 software on several hundreds of PCs...
    The basic idea is to set up a stage area (products.jar with sub-directories) on a http server and use that as a source location for OUI (v1.7.1.9.0).
    The question is: How do you distribute the OUI (Universal Installer) and what should be included in an OUI "environment? This environment is what the users have to install locally first to be able to run OUI (perhaps in silent mode) and install the Client 8.1.7.
    What parameters should be set in oraparam.ini?
    Any Client host OS environment variables?
    What files are needed? E.g. "oracle.swd.oui" and "oracle.swd.jre" files?
    etc... etc...
    Any help is appreciated :)
    Fredrik

    One person I talked to said to make sure LD_LIBRARY_PATH included /oracle/product/8.1.7./rdbms/lib/. However, that didn't help. James,
    Because the path of /oracle/product/8.1.7./rdbms/lib/ depends on the location of ORACLE_HOME you set, it doesn't sound like a pre-installation setting. It's not mentioned in the manual anyway.
    You may want to check to see if the following commands are on the installation user (oracle)'s PATH.
    $ /usr/bin/which make
    $ /usr/bin/which ar
    $ /usr/bin/which ld
    $ /usr/bin/which nm
    Also it's mentioned in the manual:
    ===============================================================
    Note: If you require /usr/ucb in your search path, make sure it
    comes after /usr/ccs/bin in the PATH setting.
    ===============================================================
    I set up a 8.1.7 on Solaris 8 but didn't have such a problem.
    Best luck,
    Han Zhang

  • Request for information regarding the Lumia Denim and WP 8.1 Update 1 for Lumia 920

    When can those of us with the Lumia 920 get the Lumia Denim update and the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Update for our phones? And does AT&T have a time fram for getting us Lumia 920 owners the update or are we not going to get this update until Windows Phone 10 comes out?

    GLIMMERMAN76 wrote:
    the phone is almost 3 years old they may not update it..  But then again there are suprise around every corner sometimes.  People with the 830 are waiting for an update also.When the update came out the phone was about two years old.  Now we expect GDR2. On the Microsoft update page there are seven AT&T Lumia phones. There would be eight but the 830 is no longer listed. Did AT&T have it removed ? Only three of these phones have the Denim update available, that is 37.5%.  Is AT&T even trying, I don't think so.  The same models of phones all over the world have been updated. Now WP10 is coming up. Microsoft says they will update WP10 directly, no carrier in the middle and they say it will be available to all phones and only phones running Lumia Denim, OS version 8.10.14219.341 or higher can be upgraded.  So, the phone has to have at least Denim before you can update.Will Windows 10 update be available for my Lumia phone? We bought two 920's from AT&T in 2012. Wife is still using hers and I replaced mine with a 1520.3 last year. It has Qi wireless charging and 32GB memory, not the AT&T version. We no longer have a contract and never will, using 'bring your own phone'.The other 62.5% of the Lumia phone users with AT&T probably feel the same way.

    Hi,
    for loading the Inforecords I suggest you to use LSMW with following methods:
    PurchasingInfoRecord:
    Object               0060   Purchasing info rec.
    Method               0000
    Program name         RM06IBI0
    Program type         B   Batch input
    Conditions:
    with IDoc:
    Message type         COND_A
    Basic type           COND_A02
    or with BI program:
    Object               0070   Condition record
    Method               0000
    Program name         RV14BTCI
    Program type         B   Batch input
    The above methods would provide you an efficient & effective way of loading mass data with all possible complexicity w.r.t conditions.
    Hope this helps.

  • Request for Reverse Posting

    Hi,
    Request for Reverse Posting - can anyone explain me this in detail with example.
    Regards,RAMU.

    Hi Ramu,
    In an Infocube we can delete data in three ways,
    1) Entire Data deletion
    2) Selective data deletion
    3) Deletion based on request ID.
    After compression of Infocube, request ids become zero and data gets aggregated and moves from F fact table to E fact table, so we can delete data only in two ways
    1) Entire Data deletion
    2) Selective data deletion.
    But if it is required  to delete data in Infocube after compression based on Request Id, we can go for Reverse Posting. We can reverse post the data only when we process the data through PSA.
    If u  reverse post the data for a compressed request, the data for the compressed request is taken from PSA multiplying with
    -1 for the key figure values and loaded into the data target. Now the data in the data target  is available in F table with negative key figure values. By Compression of Info Cube, data moves from F table to E table and nullifies the data in Infocube for the request ID.
    Note: Since records with zero key fig values are of no use, to delete these records while compression check mark  zero elimination option in collapse tab.
    Hope It helps u
    Cheers....
    Sk Babu
