How I can create PO (or cntract release order) with reference to contract (created with process contracts).

Requirement of E-sourcing and e-CLM (contract life cycle management) in SRM

Dear Experts,
Does one need to install e-sourcing and eCLM (contract life cycle management) in SRM 7.0 to take the benefit of full functionality available in SRM 7.0?
My understanding says that e-Sourcing and CLM are not must for SRM 7.0. They are basically available separately as on demand product who may not have SRM landscape.
Any ideas shared will be highly appreciated.

Hi Ranjan -
The answer is NO, you do not need E-Sourcing/CLM to install and work with the contract functionality in SRM 7.0. These are completely different products / systems. The contracts functionality in CLM is oriented toward contract authoring / qualitative information management about contracts, while the functionality in SRM is more oriented toward the quantitative contract information/execution of the contracts against orders.

Contract life cycle flow

Dear all,
There is a requirement for me to build report on contract life cycle.The requirment is like this.
The projects created in the system can be assigned to Bid Invitations and/or Global Outline Agreements. Need to build a report which provides an overview of the bid invitations and/or outline agreements assigned to projects.
I would like know that what are the table i can see this relation ship. is there any direct functional module available for this one?

Notification Timeout when Requested for Information

Hi,
We have implemented a approval notification for our customer which on a high level is as follows
requester -> Approver 1-> Approver 2
Once a request is submitted, the 'approval' notification goes to Approver 1 followed by Approver 2. The request is approved when both approves approve the request. If no action is taken by the approvers, the original notifications are cancelled and escalation notification is sent to supervisor of approver 2.
We have a timeout of 48 hours set for the initial approval notifications sent to the approvers (1 & 2). In case Approver 2 requests for more information using the 'Request information' button, the TIMEOUT clock does not seem to reset and the notification is cancelled after 48 hrs even if the notification is in the queue of the requester.
This is causing the escalation notification to be supervisor of approver 2.
The question here is why does the timeout clock not reset when the notification goes back to the requester for additional information. Is this how the standard oracle workflow notification behaves ? Is there a way to customize and achieve this ?

Request for information regarding the Lumia Denim and WP 8.1 Update 1 for Lumia 920

When can those of us with the Lumia 920 get the Lumia Denim update and the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Update for our phones? And does AT&T have a time fram for getting us Lumia 920 owners the update or are we not going to get this update until Windows Phone 10 comes out?

About CS4 vs CS5 - a request for information

First my setup:
Sager laptop NP8760
CORE i7 820QM @ 1.73Ghz (both cores)
ATI MR HD 5870 (1 GB)
Ram: 8192MB DDR3 1333 (2 DIMMS)
2 SATA 500GB WD hdd
Win 7 64bit
What I want to hear about, is given the hardware and that its 64 bit win 7... How different will I find CS5 encore to be.
I've been working with CS4 on the same hardware for about a month.
It sounds like CS5 Premier has a significant change with the new rendering engine, but what about Encore? Has it aquired some new and better way to grind avi into mpeg2?
My usage is as an event videographer still in the learning phase in all respects. Although I have finally developed some familiarity with the Adobe CS4 Production set. And have been an off and on user of Photoshop, premiere, encore and Illustrator going back to the version where CS had no number following it.
Its really hard to tell from the online descriptions that adobe has posted, although it appears they have put a good effort into trying to describe what to expect. It isn't enough for me to understand what I might find better or worthwhile about CS5.

My laptop had 2 choices of vid card... the other one was `Nvidia Quadro FX 2800M 1gb Gddr3' I didn't know enough about how to read the specs to make an informed choice... but shy'd away from Nvidia due to experineces on a P4 running winXP -pro where I reall couldn't even run encore CS4 without major problems... begining with having to turn hardware excelloration off.
Would that card make a serious difference in working with PP and Encore?

Request for information from EFI Windows/Linux dual-booters

As many of you know, I'm the developer of the rEFInd boot manager. I'm currently adding a new feature to rEFInd, the intent of which is to kick the Windows recovery boot options off of the main list of OSes and into the second row. The trouble is that I suspect there's a lot of variability in what the recovery boot loader is called. On a lot of computers with Windows 8 pre-installed, there seem to be recovery tools on a second non-ESP FAT partition, but I don't know what these tools are called in all cases. Thus, I'd appreciate it if those of you with Windows 8 EFI/UEFI installations could get back to me with this information. What I'd like is the filesystem label and complete file path to any Windows recovery tool(s) on your computer. For instance, "EFI/Manufacturer/bootmgfw.efi on the FOO filesystem boots to a Windows recovery tool." Note that the filesystem label is critical and it varies between manufacturers. It appears in the rEFInd menu (if rEFInd picks up the tool) and should be revealed by "blkid" under Linux. (I need the LABEL= value, not the PARTLABEL= value.) My intention is to incorporate all the known names as defaults in rEFInd, and give an override option to add to or replace that default list of filenames.

Request for information re: Book Download Center

I recently discovered a potentially useful site, bookdownloadcenter.com, that purports to provide free access to ebooks for a subscription fee. The books they advertise are not just limited to Project Gutenberg and the like--many are pretty new. Naturally I viewed this with a high degree of suspicion, but when I did a pretty thorough search (admittedly limited to Google) for any sort of negative press on them (e.g. bad reviews, scam warnings, etc.) nothing popped up.
It was quite a chore plowing through all the virtually identical positive reviews that they wrote for themselves, but I'm puzzled by the fact that not one person seems to have ever written anything bad about them, while nobody except themselves seem to have written anything good about them either. So my basic question, are they legit, and is this legal, is still unanswered. I thought that someone in here might be able to shed some light on this.

I agree on the "too good to be true" part, but maybe they're trying to build a reputation quickly or something similar. You know, something like they're offering lifetime memberships now to get some good press but later will change to periodic subscriptions for new customers.
I am also troubled by the lack of a catalog, truth be told. However, as you say, if you give them the benefit of the doubt, then you have to take this seriously: "These aren't books by authors you have never heard of, they are popular well-known books which are selling in your local bookstore or on the iTunes iBookstore." That and the advertised 60-day money back guarantee are warring with my natural suspicion. I figure if anyone can tell me if they're legit, it would be someone from iTunes.
As an aside, their Terms of Service (http://termsandprivacy.com/ebook/privacy.asp?domainName=www.bookdownloadcenter.c om) place them in the Bahamas.

2. I created Root Organistaion with PPOCA_BBP.
3. I went into PPOMA_BBP Tr. code and added Organisation structure like Root Organisation -> Organisation for Company Code -> Organisation for Pur Org -> Organisation fro Pur Group -> Position.
4. I got struck at assigning BusinessPartner for each organisation and creating Cntral Person
Plase provide further steps to copmplete SRM USer creation.

Are you using USERS_GEN transaction in SRM to create users ? Please read the SAP documentation in this case associated with the transaction using SRM GUI logon..
Which option do you use in USERS_GEN : file upload ?
In your case where the "US" (User) link is missing: is the SU01 user created ? Wasn't is already created before USERS_GEN ?
If the system is not able to create the CP <-> US relation, you should get back an error message in USERS_GEN.

ASK ALL VOLUNTEERS TO STOP RESPONDING TO REQUESTS FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THAT DO NOT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT INFORMATION
In general, sufficient information should include:
1) Operating system and Service Pack, not just the family.
- Vista is a Family of operating systems. Insufficient information (need Home, Home Premium, etc.)
- XP is a Family of operating systems. Insufficient information (need Home, Professional, etc.)
- Linux is a Family of operating systems. Insufficient information (need Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 Update 4, Red Hat EL 4 Update 2, OpenSuSE 10.3, Fedora 8, etc.)
2) Version of database installed to 4 digits (9.2.0.6, 10.2.0.3, 11.1.0.6) and the database's ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID
3) Which product being used to access the database, which computer that product is on, and the Oracle Home from which the product is run. (SQLPlus, same home as the database)
4) The output of lsnrctl status, the contents of the tnsnames.ora and the contents of the listener.ora
5) The output of the ipconfig /all or ifconfig and of hostname
6) Copy paste of the actual error message, not just a paraphrase of part of a line..
Any other ideas?

I am requesting that people like you and me reply by linking to this thread (or to the other excellent related threads) INSTEAD of replying. If we do it consistently, eventually the newbies will also enforce it voluntarily, and that will cut the useless teeth-pulling-effort replies to a minimum.
In your 90% posts figure - you do realize that that means 90% of the posts are badly formed and are wasting your time as well as mine.
Or - if they were properly formed - you and I could answer that with a lot less effort and a lot faster. With the implication is that the person asking would generally get a resolution a lot faster as well. Net result - you and I get to sleep more (or answer more questions) and people with problems are happier because they get them resolved faster.

Accounting entries for OTC life cycle

All looks good but there can be exceptions if you introduce two variables:
1. Invoicing Rules and Acconting Rules. These will affect your accouting in AR (Invoicing Rule will affect your Receivables and Accounting rule will affect the revenue accounting).
2. If you are on R12, there is Customer acceptance process that will change the accounting on both COGS and Revenue accounting a little bit but the final entry remains the same as you mentioned.
Forgot to mention: In someones blog on in Metalink's section where customer's documents are uploaded in knowledge base, I found a decent document that can help you with some more information.
