you actually posted in it orjanp?
Yes I know.
But that is an old? cvs version. Sunbird is now released with a version number and as a tarball. Thats why I have requested it again.
Pointer: That would be nice. Thanks.

  • Syncing Calendars with Mozilla Sunbird

I use Mozilla Sunbird as my calendar application, and it is really good (Far better than Outlook). Now, my problem is getting these calendars onto my Touch. At the moment, I am exporting the calendar in iCalendar format and then have to use a special program to import it into Outlook, so iTunes can sync it.
Will there be support for syncing with Sunbird? Even just being able to locate the .ics or a CalDAV share in iTunes and have that sync would be enough.

I had a similar problem with al day events showing up a day out of synch. Have a look at the following link, it solved my problem!
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692
by deleting the synch history first and then replacing the data on the ipod the issue is resolved!
Also check that both outlook and ipod are set to the same time zones!

  • ICal is kidnapped by "Mozilla Sunbird"!

My iCal program SUDDENLY has dates, events, and reminders that I never put there! The sidebar-information panel has "Mozilla Sunbird and Lightning Calendar Project" junk in it. I can't get rid of any of these mysterious entries. This occurred after I visited the Mozilla website. I don't remember clicking on anything or ordering anything new!
How can I get my OLD iCal back?!!
    Maria

    Any ideas?

  • 6630 - syncing with Mozilla Sunbird calendar

Is this possible? I've given up using Outlook and switched to Mozilla Sunbird for calendar (been using Thunderbird for email for ages).
Anyone know if it's possible to use the calendar on my 6630 with my Nokia 6630?
    Many thanks,
    Ed Ludlow

    Hi
As you are aware, Sunbird is the new cross-platform calendar application from the Mozilla Foundation.
The aim of the project is to create a standalone calendar for someone who uses either Mozilla Thunderbird or Firefox as their email client or web browser.
At the moment Sunbird does not integrate with other packages, it is purely a standalone project, although it is expected that the Mozilla Foundation will attempt to prioritize this task to be solved in the near future.
Sorry but I can't see a way you can use PC Suite to synchronise between to the two products.

  • I have to visit a website that requests mozilla firefox 1.5 or 2.0, I am running the latest from mozilla firefox, how will I revert to mozilla firefox 1.5 or 2.0 for this purpose and then back to current model to continue?

I need to visit the HSBC Careers Site website, to perform some sort of assessment for a job I'm applying for; the site asks me to use mozilla firefox 1.5 or 2.0 I, I may of course, be just stupid, but I don't see how I might achieve this trick? Any suggestions gratefully accepted

You can use the portable Firefox version for websites that only work with older Firefox versions.
You can find the portable Firefox 2.0.0.20 version under "Mozilla Firefox, P.E. Legacy > Mozilla Firefox":
    Win: http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/Mozilla%20Firefox,%20P.E.%20Legacy/
Are you sure that the HSBC bank site only supports such an old Firefox version?
A bank site should known better then to force visitors to use old and no longer supported browser versions.
Can you post a link to a page that you can access without authorization (log in) that gives such an error message ?
Do they have a help page that list supported browsers?

It has been asked to Nokia as a new feature in PCS by many. Let's hope they could go our way.

  • Allow loading of remote images by default. SOLVED in Thunderbird 31 [was: Is there ANYONE at Mozilla who listens to users' requests?]

'''bold text'''Numerous users at NUMEROUS Times have all requested Mozilla Fix Thunderbird so it works like A. It used to, B. what OTHER mail programs STILL do, and C. Is a fact of life on our SmartPhones!!!
We get Live URL Links on our iPhones, AND automatically downloaded CONTENT on our iPhones, but NOT in Thunderbird..... Not even as an option! Mozilla decided they're going to "protect" you. and by golly they will, whether you like it or not.
Mozilla will not even acknowledge the issue. It must be nice to produce a product an then let not support it, just sit back let everyone out there help each other.

I never really thought of it as a 'bug' so I did not pursue that avenue.
I can understand you objecting to allowing remote images by default. But remote images don't load it you don't look at them (I have 500 spam filters), Macs don't have nearly the security holes Windows has, and as I have stated before: some of us know what we're doing. AND....we know we'll have no one to blame but ourselves if something DOES get through and messes up our computers, (the Personal Responsibility concept, so lost in the U.S.) The other half is the sheer volume of email I get from eBay members, each and every one a slightly different address, and each and every one I had to 'enable' to see it! Maybe white listing sites will fix that, but I still would like the choice to make on my own. Many of my former customers still call me when they run into questions like 'Should they shut off global protection' so I do think it's a good idea you put in all sorts of warning if they go to disable it. Oh, and just so you know, my former service company "Cyclone Computer" (Approx 500 customers, most we single Mac freelancers) never sent out commercial emails and taught my users HOW to avoid getting hacked or phished or get their identity stolen. I now work in an IT department of a large Fortune 50 firm, so their is no 'commercial pressure' on my part in asking for this option. Many of my former customers do understand the reason for the default blocking and are happy it's there.
Once again. Thanks for all the help, At least the hack solves the problem for me. I see if some of my former users what to take the risk and try it themselves.
Keep up the good work. Despite my whining, it's still the best email program out there.

  • Adobe Reader Installation Instructions for Mozilla Firefox problem

hello. i am trying to finish installing adobe reader, however, i get this request: "Mozilla Firefox will not install Adobe Reader from web sites until you add them to the Allowed List. Please follow the steps below."
and here is where the problem begins, the first thing i am told to do is to: "1. Look for a yellow bar at the top"
    http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/dlm/images/step1.gif
    and then to:
Click on the “Edit Options…” button in the bar to continue with download"

    they simply are not there!!!
    please help me!!!
    thank you !!

    Hi all,
It seems that Adobe DLM does not like the new firefox version I have tried on two machines, Vista 32bit and Winxp SP3, it quits on both machines between 60 and 94% (DLM crashes and shuts down) Manual install works
    Is it just me ?
BEFORE any one says, I only use Firefox, I do not use Internet Exploiter (if I could convince the manufacturers of the install software I use to make a *nix or mac version I would get rid of M$ OS's

  • Delegate sunbird from ical server

Hello, it is possible to be delegated from ical, an account in mozilla sunbird? if it is as well as?

I also get the "Error from server: Error processing calendar data (210)" error every time the page loads or I try to add an event. Looking at the iCal error log, I have the following errors:
    2008-06-18 11:45:09-0500 [twistedcaldav.logging.AMPLoggingFactory] AMPLoggingProtocol connection established (HOST:UNIXSocket('/var/run/caldavd.sock') PEER:UNIXSocket(''))

    Any thoughts / comments?

  • Are moderators now censoring unfavorable, even if respectful and helpful, posts criticing Mozilla's "rapid release" approach?

Several of my posts have vanished off of threads, recently, despite not having any rude, profane or baseless content.
I have been vocal about not liking the "rapid release" approach, by Mozilla, as I feel it's introducing bugs and problems faster than it's fixing them, but my posts have been intended to be helpful and recommend that people roll back their FireFox versions to functional ones, as well as request Mozilla to get back to the basics, which mean producing a great product with sensible updates.
I would hate to think that CENSORSHIP is now the Mozilla approach, in these boards, for anything which dares criticize their update policies.
After all, I've been a long-time Firefox supporter. The surest way to lose supporters, though, is to CENSOR what they have to say.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I hate when people use the word Gestapo to refer to moderating a forum. Let's not cheapen the suffering of the German people or make our little support board out to be more important than it is. This is just one forum in a world is full of forums. Not only is this just one forum, its purpose is narrow: to answer support questions. It is not primarily a suggestion board or debating society, and has only the most indirect relationship with the direction of Firefox development. To me, the main point is to answer the poster's question. In most cases, that's why the user asked, and that's why the contributors replied.
If you feel strongly that a user's problem is best addressed by rolling back to an earlier version of Firefox, I think you should keep making that suggestion (but perhaps only once or twice per thread). Specific is better than general, e.g., roll back because an add-on or website only works with particular versions. As a matter of style, if you search my username with the word rollback, you will see I've given detailed instructions many times; I think that helps reduce the potential for error and data loss.
However you choose to do it, we are all under the watchful eye of the moderators/administrators, to make sure we are fulfilling this site's mission of providing good support. In some cases, that may involve trimming off repetitive or unhelpful posts. I don't think that's going to change, no matter how many bad names we might call it.

  • Syncing Sunbird ical with mac ical

I'm trying to get my wife's calendar synced with my calendar. She has not made the move to apple as of yet. So research revealed that Mozilla Sunbird allows you to utilize ical. Can we work off the same calendar. Can her changes appear on my calendar and vise-versa? Can the calendar also sync with my iphone? Would I need a MobileMe account? Thanks for your wisdom.
    Scott

No, any syncing to the iphone has to be done through itunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can not publish cal to private server

I'm trying to publish a calendar to a private server. I've double checked all of the info, the url, the server is wedDAV enabled (so they say). I use Earthlink as my web hosting isp. Is there anyone out there that has done this successfully? The error message that I get is... "it is not a valid location for this request"
    Help.
    mb

    So they say? Hmm…
Here are some outdated but still applicable instructions to do so under Mac OS X here:
    http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/network/2000/11/10/osxwebdav/osxwebdav.html
You might use these instructions simply for background on the technology, or as a checklist to setting up your own server.
Your digitally challenged friends with PCs can publish calendars to the same server if they use either Mozilla Sunbird, or the Calendar component available with Firefox. More information about both is available here:
    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/sunbird.html
That original link explained how to set up a WebDAV server on an OS X box. If you want your ISP to provide those services, you'll have to contact them to arrange it. If you're attempting to configure these services on a server provided by Earthlink, you'll have to have them help you. Typically, an 'outsider' cannot configure such services unless a predetermined set of procedures to do so are in place, and you have been given the required access.

  • API & Example Code License Question

Note: This is a repost from this thread on Forum Nokia. I was referred here by Ron Liechty, a Forum Nokia Online Community manager. Please keep that in mind to avoid circular bureaucracy. Thanks
tl;dr: I want to use Nokia PC Connectivity API 3.2 example code as base for an open source project.
I am considering to spend some time on implementing that long overdue sync solution between Nokia PC Suite and Mozilla Sunbird/Lightning (making this a Windows-only solution, but thats what i, and probably a few other people, need). My current plan would be to write a plugin for Sunbird, and a C++ glue code .dll that is [scriptable] via the Mozilla XPConnect interface and heavily based on the PIMNavigator example application packaged with the Nokia PC Connectivity API 3.2. Nokia has placed the following license on this piece of source code:
    Copyright (c) 2007 Nokia Corporation.
This material, including but not limited to documentation and any related
computer programs, is protected by intellectual property rights of Nokia
    Corporation and/or its licensors.
All rights are reserved. Reproducing, modifying, translating, or
distributing any or all of this material requires the prior written consent
of Nokia Corporation. Nokia Corporation retains the right to make changes
to this material at any time without notice. A copyright license is hereby
granted to download and print a copy of this material for personal use only.
No other license to any other intellectual property rights is granted.
Since this would require me to, err, print out all the code in that very handy Visual Studio project and start coding from scratch, I would like to request a writ of consent from Nokia to use the example code as base for my work.
If I go ahead with it, I will release my product as open source and free of charge (not forgoing a Paypal donate button, but still), so the license I'd like to request is to a private person and for developing a non-profit product. After looking around on Forum Nokia, I haven't been able to locate the right place to apply for this kind of license, thus I'm asking for pointers from the community here. Replies from Nokia officials are highly appreciated as well, of course
I had a brief chat with a german Nokia support callcenter agent, who was convinced that Forum Nokia would be the place to go to with questions of this type. If that is indeed the case, I would very much like to be directed to a specific person / email address, if possible.

    Hi,
have you tried to search in SDN for "mdm api example". I found this: <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2d18d355-0601-0010-fdbb-d8b143420f49">Introduction to the SAP Master Data Management Java API - Presentation</a>.

  • Snow Leopard iCal Server

I am a long time Now Up to Date user (with the contact/event server). If you know anything about NUDC you know that the word "unfortunately" will begin any further discussion. "Unfortunately" the upgrade Now X has been in "development" for nearly 3 years and it was released (badly I guess) in the Fall without a server. They will not give us a date on when that server may release and early reviews are not good for the standalone. It doesn't look very hopeful.
I am running three G5s right now with 2 Leopard Server and 1 tiger. I am considering giving up on Now, buying one Intel with Snow-L on it and using iCal and buying iPhones instead of Palm Centros -- hopefully when they port to Verizon b/c I'm no fan of ATT.
However, I really need to have some questions answered before I make that big a move -- about basic things like how it operates. I did a test run on Kerio and Entourage and was horribly disappointed. We need to share calendars across seven providers and four office staff and need to be able to modify each other's calendars EASILY. We can do that with NUDC but it gets more unreliable with every upgrade of the operating system and the Centros are obsolete. I would really love to hear from some people who are in daily use of iCal server. Maybe it's easier then to go to back channel and not use up the discussion board for what amounts to me asking for a sales pitch.
    Any takers?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi. No, no back-channel anything, please. You've come here asking for help, and so the discussion should STAY here
That way, everyone can contribute and potentially BENEFIT
Should you want dedicated support, then that's something that comes with a fee...
    http://consultants.apple.com/
    That said,
I have implemented shared calendaring for a client using Snow Leopard Server.
What testing have you done so far and what are your specific questions ?
You can either create a "user" (eg: Company_Calendar) and have end-users setup iCal to use that calendar, but that can get a bit messy, OR
have one such calendar (as just described) for certain purposes, and otherwise setup a calendar for each user.
Where it gets a bit tricky is that you have to use each end-users iCal to setup delegation (read and/or write access for other users). It's readily doable via a user's iCal, but I'm currently looking into managing this server-side - see (via the Terminal):
    man calendarservermanageprincipals
I think, compared to NUTDC , you should find this remarkably stable and reliable by comparison.
But you do have to allow for the fact that you're migrating to something entirely new for you,
and your ability to maintain, troubleshoot and resolve problems should they arise.
For client software, Entourage is not an option that I know of. See Apple's documentation for SL Server - iCal Server Admin:
    "Third-Party Applications
...the following third-party applications can use iCal service. These applications are from companies or projects that have committed to using CalDAV as an open calendaring service. This list does not indicate an endorsement or support for any of the products listed.
Mozilla Sunbird and Lightning (open source)
Open Software Application Foundation Chandler (open source)
Microsoft Outlook using the open source Outlook Connector Project
    Mulberry (open source)
GNOME Evolution using the CalDAV plugin (open source)
    Zidone (commercial plugin)
    EMClient (Windows only commercial plugin)"
and of course, test extensively to ensure the software (server & client) will meet your needs.

  • Calendar on 2 machines

The 1.1.2 update finally came through. Nice to be able to add calendar entries now!
I thought I'd ask this question to see if anyone has tried this. I currently use Mozilla Sunbird to publish classroom calendars to my web site from school PC (XP). (using phpiCalendar on the server) I use iCal at home for personal calendars.
Would it be possible to have work PC to sync only 1 calendar (actually 3) with my iPod Touch and have my mac at home sync another? I thought I read somewhere that you can get one machine to sync music and another to sync calendars, but what about two machines syncing different calendars? Right now my mac subscribes to the class calendars created on the PC, but they're read only. It'd be nice to be able to edit both personal & work calendars and sync appropriately.
I'm afraid that if I synced on the PC it would erase the calendars I put on it with the mac. And vise versa.
Anyone tried this? Kind of a pain to install stuff on the work PC, so I thought I'd ask before attempting.
    iPod w/1.1.2
    XP with iTunes
iMac (Core 2 Duo) with iTunes <-- currently sync only to here

Are you using POP3 or IMAP with Gmail?
Do you have any other forwarding setup with your account?
have you tried deleting/recreating your email account on your Touch with m.google.com to see if that changes anything?
