Looking for the latest UEFI GOP BIOS for my GTX770 card. I've been having some strange issues with it refusing to pass POST if my QHD display is connected via DisplayPort (HDMI works fine), and want to make sure I've got the correct and latest BIOS for my card to cover all of my bases before I consider replacing/RMAing hardware. Even if my current vBIOS is the latest GOP BIOS, I'd appreciate it if you could give me a clean copy to see if a voodoo incantation of reflashing the card helps my situation at all. It wouldn't surprise me if the motherboard I recently replaced managed to flub something up, as it had a rather flaky UEFI implementation and gave me a lot of grief with UEFI addin card OPROMs/BIOSes.
    Thanks!

If you use the on-board GPU, would your QHD display get output via DP? How about other monitor?
This would have been my first step, however, neither my old Z87 based MSI board nor my new/current Gigabyte Z97 based board have a DP output, nor do any of the laptops/desktops I currently have access to in my household. None of my other displays are DP-capable either, which kinda drives me into a nasty corner when trying to isolate an issue like this. When I'm back into work next Monday, I'll probably pull the GTX750 I bought for my work tower, and ask my boss if I can borrow one of the DP-capable Radeon HD4xxx cards that properly drove a QHD display we had to test, so that I can find out if I'll be shopping for a GTX9xx series card of a different brand, or be sending my monitor in for RMA while it's still under warranty. The better quality DP cable I bought didn't make any difference in behaviour, and turning off Fast Boot in my UEFI didn't affect anything either.
The QHD display works as expected via HDMI 1.4/Dual-Link DVI-D cable, however DP is just a better cable technology and is cleaner in my cabling setup. I want to free up my display's HDMI input so I can utilize it for game consoles, temporary second computers at my desk, etc.
DP works as expected as a Dual-Mode DP port (passive adapters to HDMI/Single-Link DVI correctly drive my FHD display, and can push 1080p out to my QHD display). Since Xorg even lists these as different ports under Linux, I don't feel like this is relevant to actual DisplayPort functionality cause it's not actually sending a DP signal, rather, it's just using DP pins to send a HDMI/DVI signal.

  • N770 TF 2GD5/OC UEFI BIOS Request

My Motherboard says I can't use Ultra Fast boot because my VGA doesn't support UEFI GOP.
I also figure that since I'm using UEFI for my storage and BIOS equivalent, why not go all the way!?

    Thank you!
The included FLASH.CMD did not function for some reason (quickly flashes the cmd window and closes it), but after running nvflash with the same option as in the file in elevated CMD everything went smoothly, GPU-Z reported new flash file, and most importantly, UEFI now does the proper fast boot.

New to the forum. I ran into some problems after updating Winodws 8 to 8.1. Seems the UEFI install I did wasn't executed correctly. So, now I have a one-week-old PC sitting here, doing nothing.
Just updated the MoBo BIOS via USB, now trying to figure out how to flash the graphics card.
I made the DOS-bootable USB-stick and used this command:

You can backup your old vbios if you want with:  nvflash –-save  backup rom
To flash you have to rename the provided file NV282MH.301 to a .rom extension (e.g. NV282MH.rom)
As you don't want to crossflash or such updating just takes the following:  nvflash NV282MH.rom (in case you renamed file to NV282MH.rom)
