Request: Novell Packages
I've had a hankering to install the Novell Client for Linux (http://www.novell.com/products/clients/ … rview.html) and Novell Groupwise Client (I'm having trouble finding the website).
Novell packages the software specifically for SUSE Linux, in a RPM-based format (I think). It's all precompiled; I don't know of any source code being available.
Novell does require registration to download the packages, so I will send the packages to anyone who requests them, Just PM me.
These are two very nice packages, and would be welcomed by anyone using Arch on a large network.

Windows 8 Remote Desktop Error "The Requested Security Package Does Not Exist"
When my remote host (win server 2008 R2) is configured to use SSL for security layer, RDP from my Windows 8 gets
"An authentication error has occurred. The requested security package does not exit."
When the host is set to use RDP security layer, it works fine.
Registry key solution for Win7 suggested on other posts does not seem to apply to win8.

PKU2U protocol
The PKU2U protocol in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is implemented as an SSP. The SSP enables peer-to-peer authentication, particularly through the Windows 7 media and file sharing feature called Homegroup, which permits sharing
between computers that are not members of a domain.
How PKU2U works
Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 introduce an extension to the Negotiate authentication package, Spnego.dll. In previous versions of Windows, Negotiate decides whether to use Kerberos or NTLM for authentication. The extension SSP for Negotiate,
Negoexts, which is treated as an authentication protocol by Windows, supports Microsoft SSPs including PKU2U. You can also develop or add other SSPs.
When computers are configured to accept authentication requests by using online IDs, Negoexts.dll calls the PKU2U SSP on the computer that is used to log on. The PKU2U SSP obtains a local certificate and exchanges the policy between the peer computers. When
validated on the peer computer, the certificate within the metadata is sent to the logon peer for validation and associates the user's certificate to a security token and the logon process completes.

Hi there
So, existing SCCM 2012 environment, OSD functioning at other sites, been in use for a while.
New location, new DP. PXE boot system, choose the task sequence, and I get the error that the package is not found.
Look at the SMSTS.log and sure enough I see the 0x80040102 error.
I have :
Removed the offending package and redistributed it. Verified it is present on the server.
Verified the boundary has the server as a site system.
Verified the boundaries have the correct IP range, and the correct Site.
I have tried it with just a Site boundary and just a IP Range boundary.
Created a copy of my TS, removed the offending package, deployed. Same error, just with a different package ID (which tells me that it isn't the package, it is something on the server DP itself).
Rebooted both the Site server and the DP.
I'm kind of at a loss, as I would expect to see the DP show up in the below log as a DP, but I don't see it. It looks like it gets policy, and it shows under the content location request Local: 1 (which I believe says it sees 1 local content location),
but further below in the log it says Processing 0 Locations.
Very confused.

The issue got even more strange...I added a DP from my central location to the boundary group of the site that was failing.
Now it pulls from the local DP.
If I remove the DP from my central location (that is not local to the failing site), then it stops working again. -

Urgent request - TEXT_IO package
Hi people,
I'm in the process of converting one of my client's corporate reports to an Excel
format, using the "TEXT_IO" package. The client requires his logo to appear in the
Excel file (for a purely aesthetic purpose).
I've tried - to no avail, might I add - to embed/insert the company's corporate
logo into the generated Excel file. This logo is stored as a LONG RAW datatype in
the associated JCG_EXCEL_DATA table.
Whenever I attempt to embed this logo, using the "Text_IO.Putf" built-in, Excel
displays it as "Bit!+".
Do you perhaps know of a way to do this?
Here's an example of the statement used:
"Text_IO.Putf(out_file, chr(9) || :image_file);"

Johann.Do you know the format of the file? If you've used Oracle*Forms to upload the file to the database then format may not be one recognised by Excel. You could check by saving the file to the filesystem and making sure you can insert it into Excel manually.

Folks I've found no package for systemC even on the community repos linked on the wiki I found a post from a guy long time ago on this forum asking for it. I've tried to install systemC once in archand it did not work quite well. Would one kindly have it in hand? Thanks folks

The Galician language pack for firefox is now included in firefox-i18n from extra, so firefox-i18n-gl from AUR is not needed anymore but I can't delete it.

As per ContentServer_Technical_Reference.pdf (page no 9) I passed <filename>, <location> and <src> parameter in our packaging request xml. File is packaging successfully and service is also placing the encrypted file to new location listed in <location> but following error is comming:

I will try to explain the situation as brief as possible. Next to our current existing MDT environment (MDT2010 on Windows 2008 R2) we are no building a new system (MDT2013 on WIndows 2012 R2). We have multiple sites and the MDT deployment share is setup

i have setup the remote MDT and WDS servers it is not working in these remote sites. The images are loading fine but for some reason the win PE is not connecting to the shares on the windows 2012 server in our site. When i manuualy connect from a remote win
PE to our server i always get the error: system error 58 has occured. The specified server cannot perform the requested operation.
I have been doing some troubleshooting and it seems i only got this issue when i connect from win PE 5.0 to a windows 2012 R2 server in a remote subnet.
When i use win PE 5.0 and connect to a windows 2012 R2 share in the same subnet it connects fine.
When i use win PE 5.0 and connect to a windows 2008 R2 share in a remote subnet it connects fine
When i use an older win PE and i connect to a windows 2012 R2 share in a remote subnet it connects fine
When i use win PE 5.0 and connect to a windows 2012 R2 share in a remote subnet it does NOT connect and gives the above error
The problem is that this problem also does not occure in Windows 7, after the machine was build by MDT and get into the OS i can connect without a problem to the windows 2012 R2 shares.

The subject fields indicate the account on the local system which requested the logon. This is most commonly a service such as the Server service, or a local process such as Winlogon.exe or Services.exe.
The logon type field indicates the kind of logon that occurred. The most common types are 2 (interactive) and 3 (network).

[community] repo: Movement of orphaned packages to unsupported.
Hi fellow Archers,
With time, the number of orphaned packages in the community repo has steadily increased because of various reasons: TUs no longer had time/interest to maintain a package, TUs leaving the group, etc. Currently there's about 300 orphans in [community] and the TU group doesn't have currently the time or interest to maintain all of them. We finally came to the conclusion that it would be better to have maintained PKGBUILD in AUR than stale packages in community. So, in the next weeks, we'll gradually move some (all?) of them to unsupported. To ensure that these PKGBUILD get adopted by regular users, we'll be handing out orphaned community packages to users who are willing to maintain them. So if you are interested in one or more orphaned community packages, request it in this thread and it'll be moved to unsupported for you to adopt it. We'll be accepting requests until April 4th but it could be extended if necessary. Hopefully, this will drop the number of orphans to a manageable amount. If not, more orphans will be moved to unsupported.
Once a package is moved to unsupported, I can't guaranty that someone else browsing the AUR will adopt it. So you should adopt it as soon as it's moved to unsupported. If someone else request a package that you want before you, as a matter of courtesy, please give that person a few days to adopt the PKGBUILD. After that, you can adopt it. Also, once you adopt a package, you'll probably need to update it as some of these packages are out-of-date or the arch and license fields are missing.
"Reserved" orphans: DaNiMoTh is currently a TU candidate and, if he gets voted in, is willing to adopt the following orphans: mozplugger, sportstracker, gobby and rsnapshot. You may request them but they'll remain in the community repo until the end of the voting period to minimize package movement.

Recently we have upgraded the system from EHP4 to EHP7. We are using Webdynpro ABAP leave application (standard workflow). Here, at approval level, on opening any leave request item, an error "Selected request was already approved/rejected" appears. We found SAP Note 1773641 and followed the suggested steps. But the error still exists. Please suggest.
Secondly, it is observed that if there are more than one leave request in approver's UWL, then by default the record with highest date is opened (ie. out of leave requests of 01.07.2014, 07.08.2014, 29.08.2014, every time leave record of 29.08.2014 is displayed even though any other item is selected). Is it a standard behavior or requires some settings?

No it is not standard behaviour, go to ptarq and check in display documents what is the status of that 29.08.2014 leave type and if it approved and is updated in 20001 go to ptarq and click on delete documents and delete that already approved leave from that

Change request save pop up screen not getting
Hi,
After upgrading BW 7.3 sp09, we are trying to save one query to another query name in query designer but we are not getting change request pop up screen to save perticular request and package.

once u create a smartform and add windows or text and when u save it will ask for transport request and package giv package instead of tmp ie local package and thn press save button . then to check ur request goto SE10 ie transport organizer there c tht in request status chk box for modifiable is checked and press display there u can find ur request.

Writing objects to a transport request
Hi all,
I generate structures and table types in an ABAP Program and I want to record these objects to a transport request. I use the function modules 'TR_OBJECTS_CHECK' and 'TR_OBJECTS_INSERT' to write the objects to a transport request, but in this case, for each object the dialog for entering the package name and transport request is shown. I want that all objects are saved in the same package and transport requests. Is there another function module by which I can record all generated objects in a transport request after the request and package number is asked only once?

I think 'TR_APPEND_TO_COMM' is the one. We did something similar. First choose/Create the Request, then append objects:
