Request Tranport

HI,
We want to transport few repair requests from sandbox system to development system in such a way that the objects within the requests remain original in the development system.
So, whenever the objects are modified in the development system in future, then a change request must be created for them instead of a repair request.
Please suggest a way for acheiving this.

Hi,
After transporting request to development server you need to change object directory entry for object under
the request.
for that run tcode se03 in development server.
SE03 -> under object directory click Change Object Directory Entries of Objects in a Request -> enter request number -> execute -> now select the object under package then click on change object directory.
now change original system SID to your DEV system SID save.

Hi,
Please go to SE01, select your request(s) and on the next screen click on the request. In the opened screen navigate to the properties tab and see what target system you have defined for the transport. If there is no definition, transport is considered as local and will not be released to cofile/data folders (but stays in E070). You have to define the correct target system as it's defined in TMS to make you request tranportable

How to create a New Tranport Request for changed Extract structure ?
Hi Experts,
I have a FI AP Generic Datasource containing extract structure with appended fields.
It has already been activated and transported to Testing System.
Now, I am to create a new transport request for this DataSource and Extract structure.
I do not want to delete and recreate the Generic Datasource.
I am trying to look at the options in the extract structure top menu from where I can create a new Tranport Request.
Please let me know the steps

Hi Dev,
Once you send the transport request for any data source from Dev to Testing you wont find that again in your Dev (I mean the TR). So, when you change anything for this data source or view now in Dev and try to save it, it will ask for a new transport request and here you can mention a new one starting from View then activate it and go to RSO2 regenerate it and use the same transport request for this too. When you transport this TR to Testing Environment the data source will automatically get changed.

Saving Infoset to tranport Request

Hi all,
I have added a table in the infoset and generated the same but there is no transport request pop up appeared before the generation or on saving it.
My problem is that i want to save the changes made in the infoset into transport request and i am not able to do the same.
Gurus guide me to the procedure of saving the infoset to the transport request.

Hi ,
Please find below the steps for transporting your infoset.
1) Select the infoset to be transported in SQ02 and click Environment->Transports.
2) Selct the Export option
3) Remove the test run check box and select overwriting allowed
4)Select the transport infoset and queries option .
   Import option would be replace
   Here yuo have to specify your infoset name in both lower and upper limit .
   the same applies for queries .
Execute it , this would create the transport request .copy this tranport request release it and go to transport management in SQ02 in the client where the changes need to be imported .
Here select the import option and overwriting allowed and select Transport infoset and queries as mentioned above
in Dataset with import mention the transport request that was created earlier.

Transport connection -
> Grouping(Neccessary objects)(It works fine for me!!)---->Object Types>Eg(Cube)--
>Assign to a Transport Request(Truck icon).
*The following Transport sequence * :(Only Neccessary objects)
a)Info object catalog
b)Application component
c)Infocubes & ODS
d)Transfer rules/Update rules
e)Infopackages
f).Multiproviders
g).Queries/Workbooks
h)Process chains
Procedure:
1. SE09 - To release the Tasks(first) followed by the Request.
2.Ask your Basis to Import them request to the QA or Prod server.Or if you got authorization for STMS,you can import them request.(make sure u adjust import queue before attempting to import).
3.Check in the respective Target(QA/PROD) on whether the BW Objects are transported fine.
I guess this is what u asked for!!!!!!!!!

Download abap object under a tranport request.

hi experts
i have a requirement, a tranport request contain any ABAP Object i don't know how many object actually it contains may be one or more just suppose it will have a report program under a transport request , in the select-option i will enter transport request number and the path of the directery( whr i have to store the report program). now this report wiil download the report program on this path which i have given in section screen.
could you please help me where the transport requests are stored in SAP is thr any table pls give me table name or is thr any function module to do this job.

Best Practice for Tranport request Naming

Hi,
We are using SolMan 4.0 during implementation of ECC 6.0.
We have placed the blueprint and we are in configuration phase.
We have a IMG project created in the DEV system and was assinged in Solution Manager project under System Landscape->IMG Projects.
Now that consultants are going to dev system and customizing they are creating their transport requests.
Is there any best practice for the naming convention or the transport requests..
By creating one IMG project for entire implementation is that going to create any problem..!!

As per MSFT best practices(Mentioned by Scott) keep it short as much as possible. You can use SP for SharePoint-SUBSite

also one more thing you should consider, never use the reserved words into the SharePoint URLs. you will able to create the site/lis/library/folder but when you browse get the 404 errors.

Tranport request missing

Hi all,
our dev server crash. after database restore the problem is solved but it is status on when backup is taken
during backup and crash we upgrade some program with transport request. those request are missing after backup restore
those request are already released and imported in qas and prd. if we create new request in dev server it is created with old request no.
how to solve this problem.

So the transport no. that is being generated in your dev system is older or before the system crashed and you want to change the transport no. to some new transport no. so it does not conflict with the transports that are already imported into QAS and PRD , correct ?
If I have understood your issue correctly then what you need to do is update table E070L with the new transport number on your dev system.

Problems with tranportation requests in solution buider

Hi,
I'm implementing crm2007, and it was everthing going fine, untill now. In solution builder when I went to activate a new building block I had an error message "Transport numbers not fullfill the requirement.".
I have no ideia of what this could be!!!! I try to create new transport requests, but I had the same error!
Can anyone give me some guideline to find the problem?

Saving Infoset DELETION to tranport Request

Anyone know how this is done in SQ02? If you click delete it's gone immediately. I'm guessing I need to go into environment->transports first and get in into a transport request?
I'm not sure what options to choose though, as there's various radio buttons and executing doesn't prompt for a transport request.

Transport can be done as follows
By using the standard program u2018RSAQR3TRu2019
By using the transport option available on the application bar in Transactions SQ02 or SQ03.

FM for checking Tranport Request.

Hi gurus,
Transport Request numbers are stored in Table E070,
it also stores if Request is Customizing request/Correction Request.
I want to know if there is any existing FM to get this
information regarding a TR.
As it is, i think accessing a Basis table directly from
ABAP would be the last option.

Lock Tranport Request

hi Gurus,
i want to lock some of the Requests which have been already released from dev and are adjusted in Import queue of qas. I dont want to delete them bcoz may be in future consultants can ask for those to be imported..
off course i m not miser in givin points..

Hi Zeeshan,
There is as such no method for locking a transport request to avoid the transport. You can leave it in the queue and transport it as and when required. If the Transport Request are sensitive and you want to secure it from not getting transported. You can follow a round about. You can simply delete the request from the queue, as it will not be in the Queue, there is no chance of a accidental transport. When you need this to be transported, you can add the request manually and go ahead with the transport.

Here my data source is cube (export data source ).because i am sending the TR cube to Basic cube.For that on i have created separate request.
Then cube and update rules having separate request.
Then Function modules(User exit variables which is used in Multi Planning area)having separate request.

Web interface (can be all in one) having separate request.
Can you give a suggestion what order i have to follow.

Hello Regina,
Go to Transaction-> SE01 and enter the request number then press the action log button.
you get the detail of Who created the reqest , who was the owner when was it changed to which owners & all such details.
