Request: Update Contact showing in Nokia 6120

i have a NOKIA 6120
I have added multiple Phone Numbers in a single Contact such as Mobile, Phone HOme, Phone Office etc.
but as i get the Call .. I can't identity that from which Number Contact is calling, is he calling from Mobile, From Home, or office..
I would Like to ask to upgrade this flow from this Set..

But my problem is different .. i can view the Contact Name.. but I can't identify that.. whether my contact is calling from a Mobile No. From a Home Number, or From Office and I have Put All 3 numbers in Single Contact Card..

Nokia Software Updater not working on Nokia 6120 c...

My phone is the:
Nokia 6120 classic (RM-243) on the 3 network
Software Version 3.70.
I was using the Nokia software updater to update my Nokia 6120c.
It found my phone and a new software version 3.83 was available.
I then proceeded to follow the instructions on screen which led to the latest software download to the PC.
Once the download to the PC was complete another screen showed the download to the phone.
The progress bar was stuck on the same 15 seconds and no progress was made.
Another screen was then displayed showing 'phone recovery', with 4 steps available:
1.remove battery and charger from phone
2.insert the battery and insert the charger
3.click 'retry' to continue
4.press the phone's power button
After following the steps the same software update screen is displayed showing the progress stuck on 15 seconds. Once that fails the same 'phone recover' screen appears.
I closed the updater application and checked the software version using *#0000# and it still shows the same software version 3.70. No software update occured.

its is not possible to roll back the firmware. the only way you can update your frimware is to use NSU, for some newer phones FOTA and nokia care points. in very rare instances nokia care points will roll back the firmware but it is at thier discretion and you have to have a really good reason for asking them to do so.
usually alwyas check for the latest nsu, all the drivers and latest version of the pc suite prior to any firmware updates. if your phones are branded to a network, it is up to the network to approve firmware updates prior to release. this might be a reason why some of you are unable to download the latest firmawre for your phones. you can contact your provider and ask them if the latest firmware had been approved by them for release.

Sometimes the drivers for your Nokia device and associated connectivity cables can become corrupted.
To resolve this, uninstall and re-install Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater:
- In your PC’s Control Panel, go to Add/Remove programs
- Uninstall Nokia Software Updater (if there are more than one entries uninstall all of them)
- Uninstall Nokia PC Suite
- Go to www.europe.nokia.com/pcsuite to download and install the latest version of Nokia PC Suite
- Go to www.europe.nokia.com/softwareupdate to download and install Nokia Software Updater

"Update Available" Shows on Nokia Lumina 900 but n...

About once a day I receive the "Update Available" notification on my Nokia Lumina 900. I proceed to plug it into my Mac and Windows Phone 7 Connector pops up like always. Well, when I go to "Device Options" to get the update that should be available, the "Check for Update" button is not in bold (cannot be pressed).
Any advice here?
My phone says there is an update but my Windows Phone 7 Connector cannot detect it or allow me to install one.

Have you connected your Lumia 900 to another computer before, or has it been connected at the shop you bought it? In that case your Lumia is connected in guest mode and in this mode software updates can't be done, only sync of mediafiles. You will need to use the 'forget this device' options in settings on the first computer the Lumia was connected to or you can reset the Lumia after which it will establish a primary link with the first computer you connect to after that.
To reset your Lumia 900 first make sure you have synced your contacts and calendar(s) with your (respective) accounts (LiveID, Exchange, gmail). Sync your media files using Zune on your Windows PC or MS Windows Phone connector for Mac.
Now go to Settings>about and select reset your phone. This will completely reset and delete all user data. After the reset go through the Device First Use procedure and setup your (mail)accounts again which will sync back your contacts and calendar(s). Sync mediafiles back with the tools mentioned above and then install Reinstaller form Marketplace to have your previously installed apps transferred back to the Lumia.

Try again later (100). Your Apple ID has been disabled, contact iTune support". However,the problem still persists even after my password has been successfully reset. What is is the error in the app store? I really need help to resolve this issue.
Moreover,I also need help how to update to the mountain lion free of charge as my Mac pro is four(4) days old.

PC Suite not updating contact properly

Hi,
My system:
Windows Vista (SP1), Nokia PC Suite 6.86.9.0, Nokia 6120, Bluetooth.
Problems:
see attached (I delete some phone number for confidentiality). I entered Julia Chin contact wrongly few days ago but managed to rectify it 2 days ago (5705 changed to 5707 on last digit), I've also run the Sync program to ensure both PC suite and mobile are updated. Today, when I tried to send the SMS message using PC suite, I use the button to list the contact and select Julia but it was still reflecting the old number (5705). Pls check!!!
NOTE: The attached file is actually a .jpg but it is not allowed to attach, so I rename it to .log. You have to rename it back to jpg to view it.

Before starting the installation process use the Nokia Cleaner:

Once that has finished Press CTRL + ALT + DEL (this opens task manager)
Click on the processes TAB and you should be able to see what processes are starting, this may help.
Start the PC Suite Install process (if using Vista make sure you "Run as Administrator").

Nokia 6120 Problem after v4.21 installation

I recently installed the v4.21 software update to my Nokia 6120 and have now found every option or mention clicked completly lags. The screen haults, shows a bit of my wallpaper and then slowly goes the object clicked. How can this be fixed? It occured only after I updated the software on the phone.

i also had problems after installing this update, however it was two days later! display problems also, but mine went to vertical multicoloured stripes, no information on display at all. phone worked OK for a while but now won't even turn on.
tried reinstalling v4.21, removing and reinstalling battery and SIM, however nothing helps.
can someone assist please?

6680 Firmware update: Contacts not displayed on ph...

Hi, I upgraded my 6680 withe Nokia Software Updater. Before updating my phone I successfully carried out a full back up of the phone and the 64Mb memory card installed in the phone. I used PC Suite 6.8.13.0 to carry out the backup (it used Content Copier v3.0 that is part of PC Suite). The software update completed successfully. I then Restored the phone from my full backup. This appeared to complete successfully. When I attempted to verify the information on the phone I noticed the following: 1. All data, including custom settings (but not 3rd party applications that I had installed) and all messages were restored to the phone. 2. The Contacts are empty on the phone. I then tried the following on the phone: Contacts / Options / Copy - From memory card. This results in no data being copied from the memory card (I do not belive that the contact dats is on the memory card anyway). 3. I have noticed that using the Nokia Phone Browser in Windows Explorer (Windows XP SP2) that I can see all my contacts in the Contacts section. This indicates to me that the contact data is on the phone. I repeated the restore from full back up process and it had exactly the same results. I then tried backup my Phone memory to the 64Mb card with the following thought - if the contact data is on the Phone in Phone memory, and I back it up to the memory card, then I may be able to try restoring the Phone memory from the card and see the contacts again. I was able to successfully back up the Phone memory to the card. I restored the phone from the backup on the card and it completed with a reboot. There is still no contact data visible in the Contact on the phone BUT they are still visible through Windows Explorer/Nokia Phone Browser. I then tried to go to Contacts on the Phone and choose Copy / From memory card. Again there were no contacts to restore (despite the allegedly successful Phone memory backup) and the Contacts on my phone is still empty. Additional information: I do NOT syncronise my Contacts with any application such as Outlook/Lotus Notes etc. This is becomming the straw that will break the camel's back - unless I can get my phone to function the way it should I will NEVER go near another Nokia product again - and ensure that none of may family do either. Hey, I can second this! Just upgraded the firmware to V4.04.07 on my 6680 and I have also lost visibility of all my contacts. They are however showing in Nokia PC Suite Contacts section when phone is connected. (PC Suite v6.81.130) I did a full back-up of the phone before upgrading fimware, and then tried to restore afterwards. Initially I had problems restoring and it would freeze after 'messages' but eventually after a couple of attempts it made it to 100percent restored. All data seems to have been restored to the phone ok and everything functions (including tomtom) apart from the contacts. I can even sync my 6680 with Lotus Notes for calendar, to-do etc. ok. The contacts were originally stored on the phone for the extra fucntionality as mentioned by martin above. I have tried copying from Memory Card SIM within the phone and it says there are 0 records, I have tried to sync (update button) the PC Suite with the phone and as mentioned previously this does nothing and returns the error ' The syncronisation has been terminated '. I checked the folder C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Phone Browser\Contacts and there were no VCF files in there at all. I also have the PCsync installed (auto-installed when using PC Suite to read messages on phone) and it made no difference before or after. I have tried adding a contact onto both phone and PC suite and neither will sync to the other, with same error as above. I have destoyed the log as described in C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Nokia\PCSync\SynchData and this also made no difference. I am loathed to try the full reset (*#7370#) on the phone as described previously bearing in mind the problems this seems to cause! Did you get past the lock code martin? If I put in new contacts manually into the phone they are saved and work ok - don't fancy doing that over 160 times to re-populate the phone! This is all very dissapointing and not expected of Nokia...strange thing is one of my colleagues has updated several of these phones and never experienced a problem, but this is obviously not unique as a couple of us have raised the point now. Nokia 6120 classic - Call log icons bug

Hi to all.
This is my first message in the forum.
One week ago I bought a Nokia 6120 classic with brand Vodafone (I'm from italy).
Everything works great except the icons in the call log, accessible with the green key (that's to say the answer key).
In fact, despite the phone numbers are correctly stored (and divided, for each contact, into mobile, home, etc.), the icons in the call lag is always the small blue icon related to a mobile phone niumber, even if the number does not correspond to a mobile phone number.
I have firmare version 4.21.

Through Nokia Software Updates I see there is a new firmare: v6.01.
Do you know if this firmware fix the call log icons bug?
As it is the unique bug I faced, I don't want to go on with a firmeware update if the new firmare do not solve it.
Unfortunately I can't find on the web a changelog for this firmware.

well the change logs for firmware updates are not public knowledge, they do not get released so in reality you never know what you are getting. firmware update is always recommened as it brings in more stability to the phone, usually fixes bugs, improves speed, sometimes battery performance and other identified issues. the chances are that you will not be able to find a changelog for your phone. you may not be able to update your phone unless it has been approved by voda since your phone is branded it is up to them to release approved firmware versions for thier customers.

i have purshased nokia 6120 classic and the frimware was 3.xx and i have update it to frimware v5.11 and the islamic organizer was on it but when i update it the islamic orgnaizer was removed form my phone so i have download it form the internet and it say to me UNABLE TO ISTALL so what the problem in my phone

i had the same problem with my 6120c phone. the original version in my set was 4.2 and i updated it to 5.11 myself. afterwards Islamic Organizer was not installing. but im glad to find a very simple solution myself.
Important: All your data and installed applications will be removed permanently. So you should take backup of all your data on phone memory (contacts, calender items, sms, images etc) and though not necessary but in order to be safer - remove your memory card before following these steps:
- Turn off your phone
- Press and hold '*' '3' and 'call' buttons, and while holding all these three buttons simultaneously, and press 'ON' button. (this may sound difficult but when you will try to do this you will find it easy)
- Keep all these four buttons press until your phone starts
- If you have done it correctly the phone will ask you to enter your country, city, time and date, etc.
- Go to Menu>Download - refresh the list and download Islam Organiser again.
- That's all!!

Removing Islamic Calander from Nokia 6120 Classic

I recently got the Nokia 6120 without knowing this application is on and would like to remove it since I am not Islamic and find it quite offensive that Nokia would put software like this on the phone and then lock it so cannot be deleted please can anybody help and get this software off my phone!
It is quite annoying having it on my phone!

Nokia phones are provided with softrware geared to the region where is is intended to be sold.
Sometimes, the retail chain moves product around the world to meet demand for particular models in particular markets. I myself have a phone that was supplied by an independent UK chain which it had acquired elsewhere in Europe.
It is therefore entirely possible that some phones arte sold with software not actually intended for the end-user who buys the phone.

[Software Updates Problem for My Nokia 6131]

Hi Everyone, My name is Wilson And I am from Singapore.I am here to ask about the software updates,which my country do not have support for it.That why i need help for my nokia 6131. Firstly, My nokia 6131 show some problems for E.g "when i type #0000#" it show an "Unknown APPLICATION"
Secondly,I follow the software guide, to no avail. I found out that in my settings > phone > phone updates it show only 2 things --> "Current Software Details and Install Software update".But my handphone version is V03.70.Lastly, i would to request if anyone or staffs would send me the file directly or help me step by step. My Nokia 6131 Version 3.70 but whenever i played a java games it will die out and when i turn on my phone and play the same game it also die out. The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

ISync G5 with Nokia 6120 classic

Good afternoon (at least in my country),
I am not a Mac nor a cell phone wizzard and therefor i hope that one of you can help me out. I bought a mobile phone: Nokia 6120. I have a Mac G5 (old version without blue tooth). So far i managed (with the USB cable) to tranfer multimedia to my Nokia.
The problem is the Syncing. I have iSync 2.4 and it seems that this Nokia 6120 is not suported by iSync. I have read in this forum that using other plugins is risky.
*Is there another solution to sync agenda and contacts from my Mac to my Nokia 6120?*
If i understand it well Apple wants me to open a .mac account to enable syncing?
I don't want to pay just for syncing.
Please anyone here who can help me?

The use of iSync Plugins should not be risky - they are the official method Apple provides third-parties with for adding support for new phones.
As long as the iSync Plugin comes from a reputable developer who offers instructions, help and technical support you'll be fine.
What is risky is modifying files inside the iSync application (from instructions you might even find in this forum), or using iSync Plugins from less reputable sources who give no guarantees and aren't liable for any problems you might have.
One such reputable provider of a third-party iSync Plugin for your phone is novamedia. However, you are likely to need to purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle to sync your phone with. The only one officially supported and recommended by Apple is the D-Link DBT-120.
You don't need a .Mac account for syncing to a mobile phone. .Mac syncing is for syncing between Macs over the internet.

PC Suite: "Could not update contacts" - "Kunne ikk...

I got my new Nokia 6220 Classic yesterday and went immediately start to manage my contacts. I have pictures on about 70 to 202 contacts.
When I had to add a picture to a contact, PC Suite posted an error "Could not update contacts" Since my phone was set to via Bluetooth I tried with the USB cable without success. I rebooted phone and PC but it was the same.
I uninstall PC Suite and tried again but the USB cable and Bluetooth, without success. Today, I am at my job where I use the USB interface. Exact same error. I tried to update the firmware on the phone, but with the same, because there is not a newer version. But I get the same problem. The calendar works as it should, but messages do not work, here comes the message "The message could not be sent." - I can (From job, not at home) see the messages which have come, but can't answer or create new messages ..
Now I run a PC Suite Cleaner and reinstalled PC Suite. Same problem.
What should I try and what can be wrong?
I am happy using PC Suite and I use it very much! I want it to work .. )

Hmm... I think I have solved this..
I started by taking a Backup this morning.
Now I finally desided to delete all and start over. I made another Back up, Restored the Back up from erliere. Then set contact memory to SIM and back to Phone...
And now it works?!?!?!!?
Only a few photoes to some contacts has to be redone, and som contacts appear more then once.. But My Suite works!
Suuiiittee!! (Sweeet!)
I really hope some one elles but me figures this out..
