Requested Start

Hi,
I have seen few blogs on 'Requested Start' but couldnt get a one similar to mine.
Issue:
In the WF, there is a background activity step with 'Requested Start' with DATE and TIME calculated and put in Expression fields with +1 Min too.
It has crossed the Date passed to 'Requested Start' still that step is in Waiting State.
I am not aware what that +1 min is specified, so I can make changes to that value.
Do not have access to main tcodes in production like the SWWA etc..
How can I move this background step ahead.

I tried out to display an interactive form in Web Dynpro for ABAP like in Thomas Jungs video described. But I when I start my application I get everytime the dump.
I read not 944221 and and thats works all. But when I try the testprogram with my form I get the dump, too.
So any help for me?

ADS: Request start time

Dear Experts,
When I try to run a ABAP WebDynpro application with adobe forms in it i get the error
WebDynpro Exception: ADS: Request start time
Then, after looking into SDN,
1. executed the FP_PDF_TEST_00 report. It returned the proper ADS version no.
2. Checked the ADS service in SM59 and tested it It returend Status OK.
3. executed the FP_TEST_IA_01 report. It returned
ADS: Request start time
I have checked my
http://xxxxxx:51000/wsnavigator/enterwsdl.html
It is also fine.
I have also checked my credential file. It is ok. I have created the same application using WebDynpro for Java. It is working with out any problem.
Why is it not working in the ABAP flavor.
Please help.

Hi,
ADS is only supported if you have abap+java on the host,
I think some http connection is missing in your java side.
Create a http connection i your visual admin as per the note

Problem in Workflow during activity step with "Requested start" time.

Hi,
I am working on SAP workflow.
In my workflow there is a activity step (wait step) where the workflow should wait before going to step after that wait step. To achieve this, I have used requested start as +10 min with WIS workitem creation. After 10 min, the workflow should proceed to further step but my workflow does not go further.
It was working good I tested couple of days back but now it doesn't. Can someone please help ?

Please check the settings in SWU3. Most probably the settings is not correct. You will get a lot of discussion from this forum if you search with SWU3.

Help need reg requested start

Hi all,
i have a scenario like when a event raised then based on date entered by user after that date only i need to start processing that task and it can be 1 month ,so requested start can be set like 1 month etc,.
my doubt is can i go for workflow using requested start or it will be performance issue for time gap in months?

Yes, you can use the date entered by the user as the requested start date. As far as performance goes, it will not really effect performance since no task or background job is being executed until after the deadline is reached. However, I would suggest having a maximum number of days the user can enter. You don't want a WF sitting in a waiting status for too long. My personal rule of thumb is that a WF should be started and completed within 30 days. Any (single) business process that takes longer than that to complete perhaps need to be redesigned.

Problem in Deadline monitoring-Requested Start

Hi All,
We have custom PR workflow in whcih in the case of rejection we are creating the event for the same workflow using SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT.
for this create event step we have an activity where in Requested start is activated on "Work item creation" for 3 minutes.
As a result we are getting 2 workitems genearated for the same PR and same event.
Examaple: Create event step started at say 10.00.00
we have one workitem created st 10.00.00 and another
workitem at 10.06.00.
In SWWA we have given 5 Minutes.
I jus wanted to know how this Requested start is expected to behave? And how can i solve this issue?
if i remove the requested start, does it work properly?

You are right..but i dont see any harm in using API FM inside the workflow...
And this has been perfectly working in prod environment for several years..
In sandbox..they have create some new release groups and for which we are facing issue...
Between i have a doubt in Background program of deadline :
In sandbox we hre having like this :

And in job log am getting like this " '2' entries have been edited"
But in prod we are having like this

So i doubt abt this settings...Can you please check in your Prod environment ane let me know the correct settings.

I am trying to execute Adobe interactive form (FP_TEST_IA_01). And got this message

This could be problem with the Adobe Credential.

You can take a look at OSS Note :981638 (Dynamic forms are not supported in Web Dynpro ABAP)
Depending on which Support Package you are on, there has been issues with dynamic forms not being interactive. (i.e when you set the 'x' for interactive, you get a short dump)

I have searched this error in the SCN, many people have posted this error . I have not got any satisfactory answer in the posts. I am attaching screenshot in the post.

I am facing a new problem please help
I am currently working on service request.I am facing a problem in the date management there.In my service request i have 5 statuses .One of my status is "Pending with consumer".I am using duration settings of service request.By duration settings , i am calculating the duration for which its pending with consumer.I am having 2 response profile one is 24*7 and other is having 9 working hours.In the service request from the SLA configuration i am calculating the escalation date & Time .I need to add the pending with consumer duration with the escalation date and time.I am facing a problem , i am explaining whole problem ..
Let say if the pending with consumer duration is 1440 minutes(that is 24 hours) .I am adding the minutes to the escalation date through the date rule.
I am facing problem that if the service profile is 24*7 then there is no problem but if it is having the 9 hours working service profile then after adding the minutes to it the escalation date is changing to 4 days ahead which is wrong.
I need to add only those minutes for which it is pending with consumer in working hours for the 9 hours service profile
I need to dynamically determine the working hours from the duration then add it to escalation dates when the status is changed from pending with consumer.
Please suggest a badi will work or how to do it.Its urgent as i need to give demo.I will appreciate a quick reply.Please reply

Request starting over again

After doing a request on some of mye portal pages the page starts to render, but then suddenly the partitially rendered content is discarded and the request starts over again. This can happen up to 3 times for a page.
This happens only on our portal servers running on windows, I haven't seen this behaviour on linux.
When the response is discarded the rendered content shows some visible html code on the page (due to unclosed tags since the response is cut off), before the request starts over again.
Could this be a configuration issue with the PPE?

I have had similar problems (book layouts and photo orientations lost). They are very hard to understand. A book can be correct on one computer, but if you export the project and import it to another computer, book info is gone. This has been a great time waster - fortunately, I have been able to retrieve some of what I lost from my daily and weekly backups. I hope that the cause of these problems can be tracked down and eliminated in a future update.

'Requested Start' tab does not work.

Hi everybody,
By filling out the 'Requested Start' tab, I set 2 minutes delay in one of my workflow steps, but after the workflow gets started it stops at the step forever with 'Warting' status.
I've tried the same thing in the same way but on another R3 system. On the other system, the workflow runs smoothly.The step can start on time.
So here comes the question: What configurations can bring this difference between these two R3 system?

Hi,
The evaluation of deadlines ( like requested start, latest end etc..) is done by 'Scheduled Backgorund Job for Missed Deadlines'. It looks like this is not active in your case.
Check SWU3 under 'Maintain Runtime Environment', if it is not active make it active by executing it. Check the prerequisites for the same. The user doing this customization should belong to SUPER user group. Otherwise, i have seen cases where these gets deactivated automatically with unknown reasons.

Work item Requested start at particular date

Hi ,
workitem should be sent to the agent on particular date ( not in no.of.days ).
Please help me out.

You can do this in 2 ways
1) Select expression in the Workflow>>Activity>>Requested start - Choose the expression and give a preassigned variable
2) Put a manual wait step before the step that needs to be sent to the user.

Hi Raj,
If you look for this message in DEBUG, youu2019ll find, that it is raised in functional module CRM_DATES_SERVICE_IR. That FM is called if your date type equals to constants GC_APPOINTMENT_TYPE-SRV_CUST_BEG (SRV_CUST_BEG) or GC_APPOINTMENT_TYPE-SRV_CUST_END (SRV_CUST_END).
So, I can say that itu2019s some kind of standard check inside CRM core, and you canu2019t turn it off.
And the workaround variants are listed earlier:
-     You can fill the date SRV_CUST_END with some rule as Mohammed has suggested (even with dumb ISM_INFINITE which will put 31.12.9999 and it will be obvious that user didnu2019t change it)
-     You can move to Z* date types, like you said, and checku2019s wonu2019t run
-     And finally, you can try to delete this error message using BADI method CRM_APPT_CHECK_DEPENDENCIES, CRM_APPOINTMENT_BADI (as I remember it runs after this standard check). But I wouldnu2019t recommend doing it, because CRM_DATES_SERVICE_IR could be called not only in this moment and errors could appear in random placesu2026
