We are a group of students from the Faculty of Information Technology, University Of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. We have to do a project, for specializing in Information Technology and we would like to have some project ideas form you guys. We would those are in new research and development areas.
There are 3 members in our project group and duration for the project will be 5 months. We would appreciate your responds

have u decided on developing applicaton for mobile phones in particular?
you have couple of "categories".
-> Games
->something involving databases, like phone book or PIM...u get the idea
->some decorative stuff....something like developing fractals to b used with mobiles
->other serious (corporate ) stuff like some client-server appli....i am not able to come up with a concrete example right now..

How to modify Apple's "Project Proposal" template in Pages 5.0?

In Pages 5.0 I want to use Apple's "Project Proposal" template for my project proposals, but I need to modify Apple's original template.
Removing the image works in the "Modern Report" template - but does not work in the "Project Proposal" template.
What is the difference in how the image is places in the "Modern Report" template vs the "Project Proposal" template?
In Apple's original version on the first page, there is a large image, followed by:
Project Proposal
Prepared for: Trenz Pruca, Title
Prepared by: Urna Semper, Job Title

I need to remove the image, and start my text from the top of the first page. I could manage to remove Apple's original image easily, but the space previously occupied by the image remains as empty space. I tried for a couple of hours to eliminate this empty space (previously occopied by the image) and move the "Project Proposal etc" text to the top, but could not find a way to do that.
Where can I find and modify the offset of the text from the top of the page, or eliminate the empty space previously occupied by the image.
There seem to be some controls hidden somewhere in the Pages software, or of the template itself, which I could not find yet, where this text offset from the top is controlled.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I encounter the same problem today when trying to use this template, and after reading previous replies, I went and copy all the elements (Select All) into a new blank document (don't have an older Pages version) and it worked just fine for me, no overlaping or anything, as you can see on the image below, the layout doesn't start after the image, I just had to tweak it a little, like moving the company name and upper line to the top (and move them to section master) and manually adding the bottom line.
I'm new here, so if any of you can tell me if and how can I upload my Project Proposal template I just created to this discussion, I'll be happy to share it with all of you.

Basically this feature allows you doing what is called "ideation" in Project Server. From a SharePoint list (either in a dedicated site or directly in PWA), you can create ideas of projects and then initiate a project in Project Server from
this list, mapping the list's columns with enterprise project custom fields and choosing an enterprise project type.

Restriction of sales order conversion to billing request for projects not r

Dear all,
We have SD integrated with Project systems. Each of the sales order is linked to the WBS element of the project which has to be billed. Sometimes a project which is not released is attached to the sales order and while billing it doesnu2019t get posted to accounts because that project/WBS element is not released. Is there a way to restrict conversion of sales order to billing request if the project is not released?

Define a new condition type and assign it to the pricining procedure
In the requirement routine have a new routine and put a logic so that it compares the subtotal field A of nett price
For e.g KOMP-NTPRC
The condition type should apply when KOMP-NTPRC < =the draft amount
You have to try this

Multiple Change Requests for project cycle

I have a question.. if we have multiple chane requests/documents for a project cycle , how will the project cycle proceed??
i have two CRs for my implementation cycle , now how should i proceed my implementation cycle, since all the changes are of type SDMJ and i want all my changes to be imported to PRD together??

i had the same problem few weeks ago. I couldn't find the Change request Tab in Solar_project_admin
I fixed it by following : SAP note : 802793
The note explain how to re assign the client to manage change request management.
We folow the note, then the missing tab appear

i m university student and my final year project title is "new middleware models such as "grid services on p2p". this tittle was proposed by our acadamic staff and then i must go through this. now i have the idea what is grid computing and what are the techologies to be used with it. but i have no idea from ware i should get start on this.
so i will briefly explane u what is my project goal. my project goal is to give a solution to communicate several systems by upping webservices which are running seperatly on seperate servers by several technologies.
To do this i want to apply "grid computing on peer to peer architecture".
so plz guid me is this possible to do with grid computing andif is not tell how can i do this( to embeded several systems upping web services ).
also guid me how to get star to get best practice of grid computing?
as my technologies i am going to use oracle 10g family with j2ee.

Creating Change Request from project structure

Hello.
Have somebody maked somthink like creating Change Request from Implementation project configuration structure? I want to initiate new change request directly from busines process step in transaction SOLAR02 for example.

Change request is created via action Create change document from support desk message
so in solar02 tcode...goto issues/messages tab and create a message then
crm_dno_monitor you can create a change request as i said and all the necessary data like ..system data,ibase etc is copied to ur change req from support message .

GOOD FEATURE ENHANCEMENT REQUEST: Locking Projects

I have an excellent Feature Enhancement request for iLife '08 & wanted to post it somewhere in hopes it gets to the hands of the right people that can make things happen so I'm not wasting 5 minutes posting.
I (like anyone) like saving my iLife Printed Books, Calendars, etc. on my MacBook so I may always order more copies if needed. However, I fear somewhere somehow someone will be playing on my Mac & will accidentally move stuff around or even delete text / words / layouts / effects from an iLife printed project of mine which I ordered & may want to reorder years down the road.
*I'd like an advanced options area with options typically displayed in any kind of publishing software. Options in mind include "Group Objects", Ungroup Objects, Lock, Unlock, etc.*
Does anyone else here agree with me??

To add to Larry's suggestion....passwords and protected accounts are always good:
1. Put your iPhoto Library(ies) on an external drive and eject or disconnect the drive when you are not using the computer. Then, no one else can get into your projects. I have ten iPhoto Libraries on my external drive.
2. Make an iPhoto Library just for your projects and put that one on an external drive. That way, your photos are available to whoever wants to view them, but the projects library can be left alone.
3. Have you considered not letting others access your computer without your permission? If they are not responsible enough, setting up different user accounts would be the way to go. You can limit their access to your files.

Who knows about existing of some kind of report which can to find Change Requests assigned to Project? I assign Projects to Change Requests in "Context" tab (of Change Request) .

Enhancement Request in Project Libraries and Classpath dialog

Hello,
in the Libraries and Classpath section of the Project Properties we can move up/down single classpath entries only. Adding some libraries and ordering them is pretty much work.
Please allow moving multiple selected entries (this was possible in 904).
From our point of view libraries should be added at the beginning of the list. Most times we add user defined libraries that we want in the beginning of the classpath.

What I'm a little confused about is where the files should go. Java Package Guidelines seems to say there is no clear procedure here. So I've placed them in /opt/opproject/ and created a symlink from /usr/bin/opproject to the Onepoint Project.sh file. Is this acceptable?
More importantly, whenever the jar file is run it creates a file called derby.log in the current working directory. So if you're running this from a WM menu you'll get it in the home folder. If it doesn't have permissions in the current folder the application starts just fine, but no log file is created. I like to either not create this file or create it in /var/log/, but I don't know how to do this.

You may want to enable WORKFLOW for project status change.
In Workflow you may add a custom validation that will check the existence of a cost budget for that project.
