Requesting Career Advise.

Hi All,
I am seeking a career as a SAP Enterprise Architect and so would like to ask few questions about it.
1) What is the best qualification or prerequisite for doing this course?
I am asking the above question because i dont have any MBA Degree or Programming experience. Would i need to have any programming experience like ABAP or JAVA.
2) Which is the best training center for this in Hyderabad area?
3) Where do i find the documentation very specific to Enterprise SOA Architect role?

The SAP modules like FI/CO, HR etc that you are referring to are part of SAP's flagship product SAP ERP (formerly R/3) which accounts for the majority of SAP's business. I would read up on [ERP systems|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enterprise_resource_planning] to learn more about this and the idea of what exactly ERP is in general.
SAP's eSOA (Enterprise Service Oriented Architecture) is SAP's take on [SOA|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service-oriented_architecture] using their [Netweaver|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetWeaver] technology as the enabler. Since SOA is getting very popular many people see this as the next wave of big IT work to come (similar to ERP in the mid-late nineties).
Being an [Enterprise Architect|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enterprise_architect] requires a lot of work experience in implementing large scale business software solutions for a wide variety of customers. You can't simply take a course and become an Enterprise Architect, as that would like saying "What course do I take to become CEO of Microsoft?". It's a combination of both training and experience, with most of the weight being on experience.
Since you sound like somebody with little or no experience in IT I would suggest reading all the links I just gave in this article to start, and if you are still interested in becoming an Enterprise Architect you can enroll in your nearest university and begin by taking your Bachelors degree in IT/ Business. Being an Enterprise Architect requires you to have an open mind about your solutions and a deep understanding of business processes, and this isn't something you can just learn from a simple training course that SAP provides. You need to first learn the basics of business and IT and after you start working you'll have a much better understanding of what your career path needs to be.

Ask yourself some questions:
Do you want to stay, or rather go?
Do you know enough about that other company?
Do you like it?
What will be your work there?
Do you like it?
What's about the working place and the money?
Do you know anyone there, whom you trust and like?
Do you know people here which you don't want to leave?
Is your current task / project finished / able to be finished, so you can go in peace without dropping responsibilities in an inadequate manner?
You - only you - can and must find out, when it is time to go.

What you should do is reboot while holding down the command-r keys into the Lion Recovery Disk Select Disk Utility and run Repair Disk.

Could you please suggest me after ABAP , what is next step to enhance the SAP skills by considering all the SAP technologies?

80 % Functional?
Any other Technical Platform? Webdynpro?PI? BI? HANA?
I am too confused to step up next level in SAP. Appreciate all your comments and suggestions.

Here the Pressing point is "how much of traditional ABAP skill level we can get extent"?
Depends on what word "traditional" means to you. One can`t spend his life writing reports and queries for years:))
It would also be beneficial if you help us understand your job. You already got one of the important questions above: after 6 years you must have experienced different flavors of ABAP. BW, workflow, WDA, BSP... So you might be already familiar with some of the topics or feel for some. It also depends on the support from your superior and overall support of education or career course change in your company. It also depends if new projects will be started in bear future where you can learn new things from colleagues, start from scratch (write a simple WDA report is not so different and is available for the beginner as well, I tried...).
Another important thing is your position in the team. Are you a leader? A senior guy? A respected member of the team? That can improve your chances to move somehwhere else if you have the powers to make decisions. If that is not your case, you should apply for such position in the field you know before moving somewhere else. This way you should be able to advance your career with less effort and risk involved than in a brand new area.
I have gone through your web page and it's helpful to understand the evolution of career in SAP.

Request for advise on Bw3.5 Exam

Hello BW Gurus ,
I am Sandya from Spain , I did my Masters in Information Technology , I learned SAP BW3.5 and ABAP from India (not from Authorized Training Partners) , I forwarded my Resume in Europe , but unfortunately , I did not get any calls .
I have decided to go for BW3.5 Certification Exam; here I have an opportunity to directly get registered for Exam.
1)     If I pass my Exam ,Will It become an asset to my Initial Career , will it add some weight to my Resume, can I expect some calls from Employees ?
2)     I have learnt BW3.5 so at this stage is it worthful to write Bw3.5 Certification or to go for BI 7.0, does the exam evaluated on percentage?
3)     At an average how many days it takes for preparing BI certification Books, and writing the Exam ?
Answers to the above questions will help me a lot, Points will be allotted.

First of all you can not write BI 3.5 certification now.
You need to write BI 7.0 certification.
You need to study TBW10,TBW42,TBW20,DBW70R,TBW41,TBW45 books.
If you have studied BW3.5 recently, then you can study the above books in 2 weeks time.
If you have forgotten BW3.5, you need to study 6 weeks. Specially you need to study integrated planning portion which was not there in BW3.5.
Certification is not tough if you are thorough in the basics.
If you are certified, it adds value to to your CV and employer can make a decision in ur favour easilly.
Now a days there is arising demand in BI.

I have got an opportunity to do distant education in MS.
Already iam working as oracle apps dba .
so here i was in confusion to choose which path whether to continue the work as oracle dba or study along with my regular work.
Also i dont know whether its worth doing MS and does it make any difference in salary perspectuive and onsite opportunities.
Please guide me and help me to choose a right track. I have got 2yrs of experience as oracle dba.

AramNo education/training is ever wasted. Don't think of your job/career so narrowly. The more you know about more subjects the better you are at everything and the more valuable you will be to your employer.

You are into SAP and its wonderful, and you have covered almost all the tough times (like being a fresher).
As Nidhi suggested, its correct, more possibilities are there into midsize companies.
So how will you find midsize companies, the ans is very simple GOOGLE.

Getting certified is not the problem,but check the opportunitites outside for Freshers who are SAP Certified. The market for experienced people itself is not really good at the moment, it is still picking up, so before investing so much money just check what are the opportunities after the certification. Siemens and All other institutes will offer Moon just to make money, but how far they fullfill what they promise is something you need to check with.
The market right now is really not that fetching for freshers though you are certified.
If you are confident of grabbing a job,based on the assistance Siemens provides(If at all It provides any CONCRETE assistance),then go ahead and join the course. I know guys who are certified and have no experience for which they had to wait lot of time to get a decent job.
My opinion and Zubin's will differ,but there are always two sides of a coin.

Basis is a set of middleware programs and tools from SAP, the German company whose comprehensive R/3 product is used to help manage large corporations, that enables applications (such as FI, CO, and SD, for example) to be seamlessly interoperable and portable across operating systems and database products. R/3 Basis includes client/server architecture and configuration, a relational database management system (RDBMS), and a graphical user interface (GUI). In addition to the interface between system elements, Basis components include a development environment for R/3 applications, and a data dictionary, as well as user and system administration and monitoring tools.
So,you should have knowledge about R3 systems and its application.Knowledge in ABAP is also advisable.
You can go through ADM100 also.

Change Request Management in Sharepoint

Hi - I've read through pages and pages of online content on ticketing/support systems etc. and somehow still can't seem to find something that best
matches what I want to achieve - So hoping someone can help...
I work in an IT Development office, and we currently have a very poor process in place for when clients submit change requests for our products
(systems). This comprises of client fills out excel form and sends to mailbox (and most of the time, 10 other recipients not needing to be CC), we pick up email and manually copy to list on Sharepoint, we review request and update excel doc on sharepoint,
then email user to check sharepoint for updates. Alongside this, any additional requests for info, etc. are all done by phone/email amongst various members of the development team, and also any comments we make about the request (which should only be visible
to us) are held on a separate list. Finally, we have an issue that all of the costing information is put into a tab in the excel document, which in theory can be opened by anyone who visits the list on sharepoint.
The process I WANT to have in place is as follows:
Client can login to Sharepoint and see options to either review open requests (only seeing request ID/Name and status) or submit a new request
Client fills out form online to submit new request, upon submission 3 things happen:
A) Client receives auto email thanking for request and advising of lead times for response, ideally with a pdf or similar copy
of their submission
B) IT Team receive an email stating there is a new request submission, ideally with a pdf copy of the request
C) Request goes into a list on Sharepoint, and then appears in two areas, one where the clients can see the request name and status only, and a second where the development team can see all of the information,
and make internal comments on the record which are invisible to the client. Finally, the client should ideally be able to click through on the status list to see the full request and our response/costings etc. However only the requester should be able
to see this much information about their request
IT Team review request, update status and provide feedback inc. costings where appropriate. Each time the status is changed on the request, it should email
the requester to advise the record has been updated/moved forward
So far the best I can do is customise a form in Infopath to show how I want to layout the client submission form, and get that to go straight into a list. The list being visible to any user on our global Sharepoint site, including them being able to click
through and see any of the information listed.
I'm relatively new to Sharepoint, and although I've achieved quite a lot in the short time I've been working with it, I just cannot seem to get my head around how to best do this. So some help would be really appreciated!

Hi - I've tried downloading SPD2010 on another pc, and attempted to use this to create a new workflow where I could use the Copy List Item function. However everytime I go through the process of trying to add a new workflow to my list, it lets me type in
a title and description, press OK, and it tells me to wait a moment, then the box disappears and I'm left on the same screen I started on with no new workflow added? I've tried this over and over this evening with no joy...
On your other option to create a new list item and populate using other fields, A. will this mean I have to write the copy for every field in my list? (I have about 40-50 fields, and I have to create 5 of these workflows in order to move my process through
the way I need it to), and B. surely if I delete the list item after telling it to pull from the other list, wont my data then disappear also considering it's pulling from there?

Basis is the term used for the Technical Consultants, SAP Netweaver is the name given to the suite of products included in the latest release of SAP.
You can download and install the trial from here, just go to the Downloads are in the top of the page... You'll also find installation guide for the Trial software.

I am trying to restore a backup and itunes is asking for a password, but i don't remember being prompted to provide a password when the backup was created

I have been trying to use my Apple ID password but it is not valid for the request.

You were prompted for a password the first time you backed up after checking "Encrypt backup". It has been using the same password ever since. If you have a corporate MS Exchange account on the phone and the administrator required the phone to be encrypted then that also resulted in the backup being encrypted, but again you would have been prompted for a password the first time you backed up after installing the Exchange account. So think back and start trying passwords that you might have used in response to a password prompt at that time, especially if you didn't read the request carefully.

PO qty reduced who brings the cart into cockpit

sc created with 2 qty
PO created by Buyer 2 qty via cockpit .
Again Buyer received a call from requestor that requestor needs only 1 qty rather than 2.
then again BUYER changed the qty to 1 from 2 via me23n. Now again shopping cart venture into cockpit due to mismatch between sc qty and PO qty .
no good receipt done so far since so far buyer did not send the PO to vendor.
how sc comes to cockpit after some time? who is really doing this wotk get status - variant which data plays important role here. or clean job brings... confusion.
can you clarify this trivial things to me..
sc folow on docuemnts updates with PO qty as 1 . but still sc did not come to cockpit.
i am sure it will come shortly i.e sc comes to cockpit. i wanted to who does this job?
if possible answer this.

Finally, I tried putting 0 in last.. days and running BBP_GET_STATUS_2 in debug mode. From what I see it is looking at all the SC's in the system and trying to update status for each of them. We normally run this job with 30 days on a hourly basis.
Yes. during that time all locks will happen .did you notice in sm12 . no one can perform any activity.
i am looking for dalily updates happened in ECC and it must be updated in SRM - with which variant.
since i ahve some special request .

How long it took in production . hope it may take lot of time. i am interested to know when do you run this job ? at night no business hours ..since our volume of carts are more...it runs more than 3000 secs in testing envt it self.

High Sea Sales mapping in delivery from projects

Hi,
I have got a typical scenario where in delivery is supposed to be thru PS.
Quotation consists of only the predefined Costing heads (non-deliverable & in line items) against which unit cost estimate is made using BPOs. After receipt of order the quotation is copied to create Sales Order and WBS elements are assigned at line item.
Deliverable materials are assigned at each WBS level in the designated Project and wrt the Sales Order, deliveries are created and billed. Pricing of the delivered materials is carried out in the billing doc.
There is a scenario in which imported materials originally planned to be sold from stock and whose delivery was to be created from projects is now converted to HSS.
Request to advise how to map this business process.

1. When we do delivery thru CNS0 it Dr- FG Consumption /ac and Cr-FG Stock a/c. Suppose if i have to take this Dr-COGS-Fg and Cr-Fg Stock a/c. will you please suggest the necessary customization steps and user transactions.
2. In our scenario we have done delivery through CNS0. When we do billing, we are getting an error that Profitability segment is not derived for GL (revenue). I have checked the relevant derivation rules which looks correct. Do u have any idea how to maintain derivation rule to derive WBS element?
3. In other scenario, intstead of opting PS. We have followed: 1. Cretaed SO (with WBS). 2. MD04- Cretaed Planned Order 3. Converted Planned order to Process Order 4.Goods Issue and confirmation of process order 5.VL01N-Delivery (601 E).
While doing delivery we r getting an error that create GL (FG-COGS) as Cost element. This is GL is mapped to GBB-VAX.we have for GBB-VAY with cost elemnt. Do we have to create this GL also as cost element? why system is not picking from GBB-VAY? any idea
