Requesting for any idea which can help
we are having a table with 10 million records, it is our transaction table
the transactions table starts with a begining balance and only holds the debit and credit amount,
so for example if you want the balance at a certain date the application will simply sum the credit amount and the debit amount and after that it will give the balance
and now for the past months printing reports which hold many balances is taking some 10 -20 minutes,
so here is my question,
1 - is the only solution stripping some records and have only small transactions
2 - or oracle can handle such kind of problem even if when recheaching for a running balance despite such a big record

we have partitioned the table into four one years data in one partition and in one disk
so going for more narrower partitioning range like 3 months would help?

To change the screen resolution, open System Preferences > Displays, select "Scaled" on Resolution and you will be able to change the screen resolution.
If you want a higher resolution than your screen supports, that's not possible

I can not attach any files to email or Facebook. When I go to "browse" the window comes up and disappears immediately. I updated browser and Adobe Flash. Restarted computer and zapped pram. any ideas? Please help!

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only Guest login created by Find My Mac.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The Guest login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -

I had downloaded a number of songs on my old iphone 4, but it died before i had a chance to sync with my comp. now i have a new iphone and cant down load any of the songs i once had and have paid for. any ideas??
If you live in the US launch the iTunes store, then tap Purchases, then the "not on this phone" tab. If you don't live in the US you will have to buy them again, unless the iTunes Store support staff takes pity on you when you email them with a request for help.
BTW, how many songs can you download between daily syncs? -
On my iPad, I'm trying to open a PDF from Safari with iBooks, but when I choose "Open with ..." in Safari, only Pages and Dropbox show as options. I'm running iOS 7.1.2 and iBooks 3.2. I have rebooted the iPad and that did not help, and reinstalled iBooks, which also changed nothing. Thanks for any ideas!
Yup, it was uploaded to our school Wiki as a PDF, and Pages did open it. I was then able to move it to iBooks, but I'd rather avoid the extra steps.

Have you installed all the updates for Photoshop?
And what does the crash report say?
Most of these issues turn out to be bugs in the printer driver software, but some are curable by resetting Photoshop preferences (which also resets the "last used" printer info). -

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke. If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this. -

You will have to do the checking for what is available in The Netherlands, or else be very, very patient for somebody else in your area to come by who can tell you which store to go to. I suggest looking for models similar to the one I indicated in the link. Do make sure they are specified as being Mac compatible. Mac drivers are usually built into a device so don't buy one one for a PC in the hope that you can find a Mac driver online. Only in a few cases are Mac drivers featured as separate files.

Using old iPhones for ipods
I converted my old 3G to an iPod but am unable to get Playlists to auto repeat. Any ideas would be helpful.select use as new phone if you want it blanked out.... and select restore from backup if you want it to go back to a previous state.
with the original sim that was in there it will eventually drop the "waiting for activation" messages and will just say No Service... at least thats what mine did -
