Requesting legacy BIOS firmware for N750TI-2GD5TLP

This may be different from most of the UEFI requests.  I have an older computer (supermicro X7QCE) that requires legacy BIOS support (or hybrid bios support) and also requires the low profile version of the card or I would have gotten the version with a switch between the two.
SN: 602-V809-319SD1501091120
As the motherboard shows no signs of recognizing the card, I can't easily retrieve the current bios version with my computer.  If it is absolutely needed for a downgrade to a legacy BIOS, I can use a friend's computer.  I thought I 'd check here first.
There's no hardware problem with the PCIe slot as I'm using a zotac gt 740 right now, and no power restriction problems.
I don't know the terminology that well as far as GOP or vBIOS, so sorry if Im using the terms incorrectly.

Quote
Actually, NM, I found the answer in another thread.  The switch explicitly switches between EFI mode and legacy BIOS mode.
These are not just modes. The switch allows to use the card with a plain legacy vbios or a UEFI/GOP (hybrid) vbios.
Quote
As this is the case, I can come to no conclusion other than there is a problem in the EFI/legacy mode handoff in the vbios for essentially every other version of the gtx750ti.
Like already said UEFI or legacy is not the only problem that can stop the card from working in an older computer but the support for later cards in general.

We don't know what "Supermicro" computer you have and what it works with since we are not Supermicro support. Legacy and UEFI mode or GOP compliance is not the only things that determine if a card runs in your machine. Newer cards must work at all on that older machine what is not guaranteed on oem machines that are very rarely updated. With latest gen vgas that is surely a problem and has nothing to do with the vga's vbios. Only Supermicro can tell you if current generation vgas are supported.
Quote
I guess if I want to get this card to work and not just return it, I'll have to hack the firmware.  Dont suppose there's any tools for making that any easier?
Get used to the fact that the problem is not the card or it's vbios but your pc's oem mainboard and it's lacking support for newer cards. Else it would at least work with card switched to the legacy vbios.

  • New BIOS firmware for B590 Notebook (20206)

    Hello.
Where can I find new BIOS firmware for B590 Notebook (model 20206)? support.lenovo.com provides an earlier version (08 Oct 2012), but I need at least the same as in the notebook now (15 Nov 2012).
Just wait for a new firmware becomes available at lenovo.com?
How can I find out when it will happen or whether happen at all?
Or at least how to save the current BIOS? Preferably by regular means. It looks like Lenovo utility can only update (and reported that the installed firmware is fresher).
    Thanks.

Still nothing. Is there any hope?

Check graphics card itself, should have a sticker with S/N. Else it might be hard (or impossible) to provide correct vBIOS.

Thanks for your attachment. I've tried it. But if I set mainboard's bios supportion to "Compitable EFI", then my computer can't start at all, screen staying black, even without post.  if bios supportion set to "Legency bios", then everything will be OK. I wonder why the firmware isn't supported for ASUS mainboard's "Compitable EFI" selection.
And gpu-z 6.7 shows clock frequence lowers from previous 980 to 850.
I lost my orignal vbios version, can i get it back?
Please forgive me for my poor English.

    Thank you so much!

I didn't reinstall Windows 8.1, but it was installed onto a brand new SSD (specs of my whole rig as below) with GPT partitioning theme.  Windows installer created several partitions along the way.
I think the ultra fast boot does shorten the time a bit.  I haven't timed the "fast" boot yet, but the "ultra fast" was 11 seconds from pushing power button (completely cold start) to log on screen (I disabled the lock screen).  May not be the fastest time, but ok enough for me.
However, I noticed another anomaly: sometimes when cold booting, the monitor will show something like "Your VBIOS does not support UEFI GOP and CSM disabled. Press F1 to continue to boot in fast mode; press F2/del to enter UEFI setup."  This does not happen all the time, but fairly consistent if the computer has been completely switched off for a while.  Any thoughts?
Here is the detailed hardware specs of my computer: (running Windows 8.1 Pro x64, clean install)

Plz fix it these pblms in neext firmware update.....

    Hey Everyone,
I am using NOKIA 6303c. I have always kept my phone up to date with the latest firmware.
But it has been a while since NOKIA released V10.12, probably updates have been stopped. The LOW Volume is at it's best, It can't get any Louder. CAMERA, well that's something you have to keep adjusting according to your liking. Leave your phone memory EMPTY(as much as possible) in order to avoid applications from shutting down suddenly.
I would ADVISE anyone who is facing these problems to sack it off.. and get a new phone. Nokia C3 seems to be a cool phone at a reasonable rate, and there are many more, if budget is an issue then stay put till you can afford one.
    That's pretty much what I'm doing. ;-)
P.S. I hope there's an update with these issues fixed sometime soon cause I really don't wanna have to buy a new phone!

  • 660Ti UEFI/GOP & legacy bios request.

    Hi.
Preparing myself for the Haswell upgrade.
Can I please have the latest UEFI/GOP & legacy BIOS(es) for the following card?
    Card: MSI N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC 2GB.
    Serial#: 602-V284-050B1211045023.
    Original Vbios: 80.04.4B.00.16 (P2004-0001).
    Vbios image dump: (*https://www.dropbox.com/s/y6crdr9y1ti5t6u/MSI%20N660Ti%20PE%202GD5-OC%202GB%20GK104%20original%20bios.rar *)
    Thanks.
    PS.
Which ver. of nvflash should I use for flashing?

    Thanks for the file.
I upgraded just for the sake of being up-to-date,
but I solved the problem earlier otherwise
So, I can't really comment if the newer/provided VBIOS solves the black screen problem or not.
In my case the problem was from Nvidia driver 320.18.
There is a supposedly acknowledged problem with Win 8 which silently installs  on the background
an earlier Nvidia driver (311.06) from windows update,
and *not* informing the user about the background install/need for reboot.
If the user installs another/later driver without rebooting 1st it becomes a driver binary mess.
In my case, when using 320.18 with Win 8 (even from a clean install and not messing with any previous driver),
caused the monitor going to sleep after POST and when MB UEFI handed-off control to OS in 80% of the cases.
A situation I could exit from only with a hard shutdown.
So, for any other poor soul having similar problems,
it might be a good idea to try an earlier Nvidia driver.

Thanks. Here's a quote from the other forum on this upgrade.
"Ivy Bridge Based GT60/70 Laptops: Require System BIOS Version 51x or 71x
It has been discovered by other users that upgraded their Ivy Bridge based GT60 and GT70 laptops that an unreleased BIOS version (version 51x or 71x) is required in order for the card to be fully detected and installed properly. The laptop will/should boot fine without this BIOS, however there will be issues upon trying to install drivers and functionality. After the update of the system BIOS to version 51x, the card is detected properly, and install perfectly with a modified INF driver. All performance and usability is exactly as expected."
So while I understand bios unlocking does not add support for the 900 series cards, the bios update somehow does. It sounds like you don't modify bios but only unlock. Ideally I would like to update to an MSI bios. I know my current already supports 7XX cards. How likely is a brick from slapping an MSI bios on? I'm really not sure what's different between the retail and barebones. Tried to PM you said I'm not allowed to send pms. Thanks.

  • Unofficial bios, firmware, etc

hi, just wondering if anyone knows of any unofficial bios/firmware for the 865 to allow it to use the tv/dvd/vcd with out turing on the htpc (just like the 865 pro).
And can anyone recommend to me a good application that is compatible with the mega remote (i'm too lazy to learn how to use girder :P).
I would like the application to run smoothly, fast, and not crash all the time, allow me to configure how it looks/starts up, etc, and can play avi, mpg, wma and other video/ audio formats.
Basically a version of windows media player with the added options to play live tv and radio.

  • [REQUEST] UEFI Bios for GTX 770

Can you please send me the latest  bios that will allow me to boot MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr 2GB o/c  with UEFI in Win 8.1 64bit using SSD.
I have looked at the MSI website and the bios files for my card are not available for download.  Apparently only via MSI Live update?
My PC will not boot into Win 8.1 64 bit so this option is useless for me.
Even when I state in bios to use CPU graphics it halts saying windows 8 graphics card not detected and requests that I disable Win 8.1 support?   Thus leaving me having to physically remove card to boot.
This must be a bios error surely?  I thought the point of being able to choose graphics output methods is so you don't have to remove card?
    My PC is:

Video Card:     MSI GTX 770 O/C 2GB Twin Frozr Gaming    Serial :  602-V282-20SB1307057588

Then flash the included file with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html

Thanks for attention and sorry for bad english

um you cannot update anything inside cpu but you can update bios and firmware for touchpad and such but for bios you shall never update it unless you occure any bios issues where it does not behave propertly then you can update bios but other wise you shall not since some people do it and bam they would kill laptop since they accidentely flashed wrong bios for wrong laptop or so thats why bios is risky to update when you dont know how to and that you shall not do it even laptop is runing fine on it's current bios.
