Requesting location information from a client device (7921G)

Hey gents,
Can a client device such as the 7921G gather its own location? I think I remember a configuration example for location presence information on a client. But unfortunately I can't find the configuration guide anymore.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

CRL's do not normally live on workstations... normally these are hosted on servers. If you want to see what server are in the local revocation list then look at the certificates mmc snap-in and look at the revoked certificate list. If you want to test
a CRL for a certificate then export the certificate and run "Certutil -url"

Change search results tile with information from just client table...

Hello all,
I am quite new in MSA development area. Could you please answer one specific question?
I would like to enchance search results tile. I want to add two additional columns, but with information from ONLYclient table. For exapmle table Zclient. I would like to store this table only in IDES DB on laptop and not transfer it to CRM server.
This table Zclient will have relation to other information which is now in search result tile.
Is it possible to create BDoc with combination of data...from server and only from client DB?
And could you please provide me some cookbook for enchacing Mobile application?

Hi Vera,
What you want to accomplish is possible. Santosh is correct, you have to create your Zclient (CDB table) and query Z_BDOC on CRM server. Then, generate this Zlcient table and new Z_BDOC with a Client Console on the laptop, and that will create CDB table in your ides db and update tps file with new Z_BDOC.
Then, in MAS, create a Business Query, with relation to new Z_BDOC. Generate that BQuery. Model your tile, so that it's using your new Business Query. You may need to do some coding as well.
P.S. Cince data from this table won't be replicated to CRM, you still need to initially populate that table on every client ( sql query ? ).

I have lost all bookmark information from my second device when I synced.

Having set up sync, I assumed info from all my devices would be merged, not so. I set up sync on my desktop, then synced my laptop and all the info from the laptop disappeared. There were a lot of useful bookmarks there but I cannot now find them. Can I recover previous setting/bookmarks/history when a new device is synced? Also why is the no warning as to what will happen to browser information on subsequent devices when they are synced. Horrible thought also comes, have I lost my log in data that may have been unique to the laptop?

If bookmarks get lost then there might be a problem with the places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the <b>places.sqlite</b> database file in the Firefox profile folder.

If there isn'r basis t, u or your basis should create it.
-B) Create a program using a RFC function module to pick up the user roles:
CALL FUNCTION <FUNCTION> DESTINATION <DEST>.
Where <DEST> is the name of the production system connection defined in SM59.
The function <FUNCTION> has to be a RFC (Remote Function Call) like a BAPI.

I'm doing exactly the same in both projects.The OS loads the library into the process space.
You know it works in java. Thus it means specifically that it is an environment problem. It is not a java problem and it is not a library problem.
The problem is that the library fails to load.
General reasons for loading failures. There might be others.
- It isn't a library. Can't be this because you got it to work already.
- It has dependencies, other libraries, that don't exist or are not in the shared library path.
- It isn't in fact the same as the other webstart app. Different location, different coniguration, permissions problem, something else.

It looks like you haven't specified the INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY property -- the name of the class that creates the "java.naming.InitialContext" class.
Perhaps you would care to show the entire error message and stack trace, as well as the part of your code that is causing the error, and perhaps a few details about your environment.

How is data sync'ed, or is the information from the different devices merged together or does the "first sync'ed" device overwrite the other devices entries?

Quite basic question, though the result is fundamentally different - and I'd like to know for sure before starting the sync. ;)

The devices that are listed are: 2 under the name of the device that synced incorrectly with mine and then 3 others that are not associated with my itouch. The name of the ipod, before the incorrect sycning is no longer under devices. It has been replaced with the incorrect one because I can see the serial # of my ipod under the wrong name.
The playlists that are in my itunes library are from an ipod that I used a few times before I took this one over... Which happens to be the ipod that took on the ID of my itouch.
Both of these ipods used to be my kids.. I used my sons a few times and then switched to my daughters. They each had their names attachted to their particular devices and now it just says my sons, which is the ipod that itunes was connecting to when all this happened. The really strange thing is my son doesnt use his ipod any longer and now uses his phone for music...So, it had been a while since that particular device was even synced to itunes!

Request for information from EFI Windows/Linux dual-booters

As many of you know, I'm the developer of the rEFInd boot manager. I'm currently adding a new feature to rEFInd, the intent of which is to kick the Windows recovery boot options off of the main list of OSes and into the second row. The trouble is that I suspect there's a lot of variability in what the recovery boot loader is called. On a lot of computers with Windows 8 pre-installed, there seem to be recovery tools on a second non-ESP FAT partition, but I don't know what these tools are called in all cases. Thus, I'd appreciate it if those of you with Windows 8 EFI/UEFI installations could get back to me with this information. What I'd like is the filesystem label and complete file path to any Windows recovery tool(s) on your computer. For instance, "EFI/Manufacturer/bootmgfw.efi on the FOO filesystem boots to a Windows recovery tool." Note that the filesystem label is critical and it varies between manufacturers. It appears in the rEFInd menu (if rEFInd picks up the tool) and should be revealed by "blkid" under Linux. (I need the LABEL= value, not the PARTLABEL= value.) My intention is to incorporate all the known names as defaults in rEFInd, and give an override option to add to or replace that default list of filenames.

I would like to remove my bank debit card information from all apple devices associated with it. I have charges to my account that I do not want to continue as I don't know where they are coming from. I need to delete all credit information as soon as possible. It has caused many a problem with my bank account. What can I do. I do not want to go to each device as I do not know which one it. I have already deleted it from two but now charges are appearing and they are not $.99 charges but $ 10.68 charges. Any help from you would be appreciated.

How to send a request to servlet from a java client.

I called a servlet from java client using URL object.
I could establish a connection with server and display
the content(like req.getservername etc.,)
of servlet on client side(DOS prompt).
My question is how do i send a request to servlet from the client.
let me say, i have to send a value as 10 to servlet and do some processing
( like 10*2 = 20) display the output (20) on client side..

Need example of client requesting information from server

I have a thick-client application that also acts as a server for remote clients.
I have it set up so that they send messages to each other. The server can initiate action on the client and the client can initiate action on the server. All of my communication is essentially asynchronous.
Now I want to start adding more transactional synchronous interactions, for instance:
- User initiates action on client
- Client gets data from server
- Client uses that information to perform further action
Is there a good example or tutorial for someone who hasn't done that before?

If you want to keep it a J2SE app im not sure you can use JMS to do it, but would have to use RMI or just plain network programming, with lots of thread control.
Anyhow if you would like to do it the easy way run a J2EE server, find a small one, but one that supports JMS (think one of the minimal installs of jboss might be good). Make a topic called messageExchange or somethign. Connect server/client to the topic. Can use MVC or something as a messagelistener. You can even persist the topic (DurableTopic) to log events to a database.
This is a little job that requires little planning compared to setting up a thread hieracy with sockets flying all around. And easier than rmi.
I have really never tought of using JMS in outside of an J2EE container, but there might be some plugins or api's that support this for J2SE.

I am adding new routers to our Corporate network for a new MPLS network. I am getting 13017 Received TACACS+ packet from unknown Network Device or AAA Client errors for these new routers. They are added to ACS 5.4.0.30 correctly just like all of our other devices. We have never had real routers on the network before, just switches and access points. Is there something special I need to set in ACS for these to work and authenticate correctly? I can only access the currently with built in login locally.

Error while sending request to Webservice from Client app on Weblogic

Hi Everybody,
As part of web service development and deployment, I created one simple webservice and tried to deploy it on Apache Tomcat 5.5 and then weblogic 9.2. It worked fine on Apache Tomcat but it didn't work on Weblogic. Here are the steps I followed.
1) Created a webservice within one Dynamic Web project
2) Created a Client application
3) Deployed both (by exporting war files from eclipse3.2) on Tomcat Apache locally on the same machine (localhost)
4) Invoked client in the browser which allows to send simple request (Hello!) to Webservice
5) Invoked webservice method call from the Client browser window
6) Received success response back from webservice.
Then, I deployed same war files on Weblogic 9.2 (different machine on the network)
- Both got deployed successfully and reached to ACTIVE state on Weblogic and became ready to accept requests.
- When invoked Client application on the browser, it worked.
- From that client application browser window, I tried to invoke webservice call, I got the exception as below:
exception: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
I will greatly appreciate any advice on this. Let me know if more information is needed.

ITunes 7.7 unable to locate dataclass information from Sync Services

Upon upgrading to iTunes 7.7 and connecting my iPod touch, I began receiving the following error message: "iTunes was unable to locate dataclass information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
I followed the steps listed in these articles:

I am still experiencing this issue. Are there other suggestions I can attempt? I've tried to locate other posts on this topic but it's difficult since the "Discussion Search" box is missing. Thanks! JD

So far, you're right on with the steps. It's a good sign if none of the software is listed in the cleanup utility; that generally means it was appropriately removed with the previous step(s). This utility is mainly for some stubborn or damaged programs that won't uninstall via Programs & Features.
I haven't yet seen a definitive fix for this; different options are working for different people.
Some other suggestions:
-Reinstalling the iPod driver
Connect the iPod
Click Start, right-click My Computer and click Manage
Select Device Manager in the left-hand column
Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus controllers in the right-hand column
Click the + next to it to expand it
Right click on the Apple Mobile Device and click Uninstall
Restart the PC with the iPod connected
-Working out a syncing conflict
Do you have other devices that you sync to your computer? Either way, try this:
Close iTunes and disconnect your iPod
Click Start, right-click My Computer and click Manage
Select Services in the left-hand column
Scroll down to Windows Mobile Service, right click it and click "disable"
If disable is not an option choose Stop
Open iTunes and connect the iPod
-Disable any and all firewalls
This may result if the Outlook Sync Server service is blocked
If this resolves the issue, look into configuring that firewall to specifically allow this service.
