Requesting Z68A-G45 B3 Beta Bios

Is there any latest beta bios for this mainboard that up the core voltage limit? I found latest beta bios with 1.50v voltage limit but it is for G3 model only. I can't get stable 4.5-4.6ghz oc with 1.35v limit.

You probably chose the wrong board if you had Overclocking intentions.
The budget orientated boards normally are more limited in terms of their capabilities.
Suggest you contact MSI and ask them if it is even possible to have this incorporated into the BIOS for this board  >>How to contact MSI.<<

  • MSI Z87-G45 Latest beta bios problem?

So i have updated to the latest beta bios but the core jumps to 5600mhz from 4500mhz.
    Everything is set like it's alway's set.(4500 core @ 1.285v 4200 uncore/ring @ 1.19v, memory on xmp profile and the inputvoltage is 1.880v)
This only happens when using firefox from what i've seen, but i haven't done testing yet so it could happen with more programs.
Firefox becomes laggy when this happens and doesn't want to load anything unless you wait 25 seconds and then it still not load's the site complete.
IE 11 doesn't do this by the way.
    My setup:
    MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
    Intel I7 4770K
    G.Skill Ripjaws X 16gb
    Sapphire R9 290
    Cooler Master Silent Pro 1000W
Edit: The clock's are just showing up that high in task manager, in XTU they stay @ 4.5.
But i still don't know why firefox is acting up with this bios.

Close this topic as i have found the problem.
It was a usb 2.0 stick in usb 3.0 port that was saving the cache for firefox.
But the stick was working very slowly in that port hence the slowdown.
    Sorry for the thread.

  • Z68a-g45 (g3) MB Bios update

Hi i recently upgraded my graphics card and having a B2 error which after doing some research is most likely a bios issue.
i can find the z68a-g45(b3) bios update on this website but none for the (g3) and was wondering if it was the same thing.

No, it's not the same. Follow the below to update to the latest bios for Z68A-G45 (G3):

  • Z68A-GD80(G3) Beta BIOS Versions For Ivy CPU's (Review)

Since the release of the original vJ0 Ivy UEFI/BIOS update package, are there any Beta's currently available? Also, if there are any, do they flash both chips as the vJ0 update did or just the primary chip?

UEFI/BIOS Beta update went without a hitch on the Z68 that has the Ivy in it. The v1.24h flash tool worked perfectly. This Beta version turns the Z68A-GD80(G3)'s into an OC monster with a Sandy or Ivy CPU!
Without much trouble, had the 3770k at 47X on Auto CPU V. and all power saving features operational and intact, plus the new Corsair Platinum's running two 8GB 2133 kits (not recommended to mix kits) for a total of 16GB's @ 2400 on only 1.632v's. Capable of more CPU speed, but the Ivy's get too darn hot even running a low voltage IMO at full load (85C), and I actually experienced a slight performance loss in 7-Zip at the 47X level. IBT showed less than 2 GFlops gain between 46X and 47X.
    Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133's running at 2400;
    7-Zip 46X VS 47X. 46X and RAM speed 2200 with tight timings (CR 1, 9 10 10 24, tRFC 88), 47X and RAM speed 2400 with relaxed timings.
    Load transition towards 100% and post full load;
Didn't intend to turn this thread into a review, but so impressed with this particular Beta, had to share what I found.
This thread may be commandeered by an admin or mod for future use for new Z68A-GD80(G3) Beta's.
Thanks again Svet for providing this Beta. It is a winner!

  • Z68A-GD80(G3) Can no longer read external hd dock after flashing beta bios

I flashed E7672IMS.J31 Beta Bios because I was on a very old bios that was not compatible with my GTX 970 card I just bought.  Flashing the bios fixed my 970 compatibility but in the process made it so my 2 external hd docks no longer worked (at this time on windows 7).  self powered usb harddrives still worked though.  At this time my sata mode was IDE which I thought might have had to do with it since it doesnt have hotswap. I assumed it was an issue with some drivers I installed after flashing the beta bios and I was due for upgrading/reformatting anyways so I enabled AHCI and hot swap then did a clean install of windows 8.1.  The external hard drives still don't read!!   I've used multiple different hard drives and different usb ports including usb 2.0.  The docks are usb 3.0 and I use them daily to edit photos from my work.  Any ideas of things I could try?
    My pc:
    intel 2500k
    16gb Corsair vengeance ram
    MSI 970 GTX GPU
    Corsair 750w power supply
    Z68A-GD80(G3) motherboard
    E7672IMS.J31 Beta Bios

Could the issue be that I didn't download the Intel Management Driver after installing the beta bios I flashed?  Maybe I could try that first, which one from this list do I use with my pc setup?
    thanks for the help!

  • Z68A-G45 (G3): BIOS screen unreadable on PCI express graphics card

    I have a Z68A-G45 (G3) board with Intel Core i3-2320T processor.  BIOS version is E7750IMS v11.2.
When entering the BIOS setup screen with DEL, everything is fine when the display is connected to the motherboard HDMI port.
When I plug in my MSI Nvidia 8500GT-based PCI express video card and connect the display to its HDMI (or DVI) port, the BIOS screen is corrupt and almost unreadable.  I can see some characters and images -- the BIOS is there, I can see the temperature readout -- but navigation is very difficult.  This problem occurred with BIOS version 11.0; I just flashed to 11.2 and the problem persists.
    Here's what it looks like
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Steve

In case anybody's curious it turns out the issue was specific to the card.  I tried a different PCIe card and the BIOS screen showed up fine.
So finally I ditched my old reliable nVidia card and used the Sandy Bridge integrated graphics instead.  No problems so far.

  • Z68A-G45 (G3) BIOS update?

    Hi everyone,
I'm completely inexperienced when it comes to motherboards and BIOS, so please bear with me. I'm using a Z68A-G45 (G3), with a current BIOS version of E7750IMS V11.1. I recently tried to install a new EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card, but the system would hang during booting and display A2 in the bottom right corner. After doing a bit of searching online, it appeared that I might need to update the BIOS in order for the card to work.
I went by the MSI instructions, downloaded the 12.3 BIOS version and put the file (E7750vC3.exe) in the root directory of a USB drive. However, when I tried to use the M-Flash feature, it says "There isn't any BIOS File in this USB key." What do I need to do?

  • MSI 880GMA-35 FX [MS-7641 rev 2.1] - BETA BIOS Request

Hi, there beta bios for this motherboard?

I asked in this section to check for new updates in development. Since I bought this card in bundle with a processor AMD PHENOM X II, I'm having a series of problems:
    - Lack of recognition of the AMD Phenom II x 960T BE (it was declared like supported but i must upgrade bios and clear cmos twice to recognize it successfully)
    - Incompatibility with Samsung Hard Disk 502HJ (i found a incompatibility between SB850 and this HDD that i fix with a firmware update)
    - problem with the Crucial M4 SSD (installation in AHCI mode only)
    - Not being able to individually set the mode of access to individual devices (ide or ahci)
and look forward to some improvement:
    - Unlock function on the core (which is not handled of software UNLOCK CAP as promised on the website of the motherboard where says "This new MSI software tool allows users to unlock CPU cores from Windows with just a few simple clicks, no need to enter the BIOS." )
I hope Msi coul emprove some function in next release and provide the software MSI's UNLOCKCAP with this motherboard.
    (it's the same chip 880)

  • Observation about Z87-G45 Gaming 1.8B1 BETA BIOS

    Can the technicality behind this:
    Quote from: myself
The 1.8B1 BETA BIOS the CPU clock will more frequently steadily hit 3.85GHz. Comparable to BIOS 1.7 where the CPU feature 'enhanced turbo boost' setting set to enabled instead of auto previously was required to do that.
In explanation of: with the official BIOS 1.7 I assumed it couldn't hit 3.85GHz if enhanced turbo was on auto because it was preserving wasted heat energy by restricting the clock to below 3.68GHz. With BIOS 1.7 the CPU unsteadily hit 3.85GHz on 'balanced power policy' if on 'high performance power policy' the CPU only made it to 3.67GHz steadily.
    be explained?
Also is the: '02. Fix Intel (R) Rapid Start Technology function fail.' noted on the past two BIOS a problem where the computer resumes from sleep?
I created a troubleshooting thread about that on the Intel community forums because my computer frequently, immediately resumes from sleep mode when the feature is first put into practice instead of maintaining the low power mode.

The enhanced turbo function should have no effect on CPU maximum speed. What it does it places all of the cores in lock step.  By default only a single core would increase with turbo while enhanced turbo increases all of their multiplier to the same multiplier when turbo is activated.

  • Z77A-GD65 GAMING Beta BIOS request

Is there any new beta bios for this mobo ?
The latest 25.1B2 is very buggy for me. After ~10-15min System/GPU "heavy" gaming (Crysis 3) the whole PC starts freezing (2 sec. running - 4 sec. total freezing). Moreover this freezing continues after exiting the game and still continue freezing when: "System Windows is shutting down" appears when I try to restart. When I look at task manager it shows 100%-0%-100% cpu spikes in this 2-4sec intervals.
I am 100% sure it is caused by this bios. It started with this bios and after switching to older bios everything runs fine.
So why using this bios? Because it fixes another issue. I tried 3 different 25.x (beta/official) versions and every one of them has issue with "remembering" BIOS fan settings after power loss (or power supply switched off). In spite of that settings are still there after power loss, they have no effect and fans (esp. CPU) run in default state (very noisy). It's enough to enter the bios, save, restart and thats it, but why.
This issue is fixed in 25.1B2.

No newer beta. If you are sure it is a bios issue report it to MSI so they can work on another beta to possibly fix that issue: >>How to contact MSI.<<

Hey guys, just picked up a Z68a-G45 (G3) and I'm currently running the following hardware on it:
i5 3570k 3.4ghz at 95w (I have verified that the mobo is compatible with this chip) with stock cooler
    1 DIMM of 4gb Kingston HyperX ddr3 1600 ram
OCZ ZT series 750 watt modular PSU
I currently have the graphics card, SSD, HDD, and CD-ROM out for trouble shooting purposes.
Currently, when I start her up it thinks for a second, powers up, fans spin, and then after a few seconds it dies and restarts.
I went down to 1 DIMM, cleared CMOS, checked for bent pins, even tried a different PSU all with the same result. Is this likely due to the board?
    Thanks!
Verified how exactly? Yes that CPU is compatible, but only when an Ivy UEFI/BIOS update has been performed.

please if someone know or can instruct me how to boot from USB 3.0. I have an usb drive 16 GB i don't think is important which brand. It seems bios don't see the usb drive as a bootable option when I use USB 3.0 ports. My motherboard is Z68A-G45 (G3). I don't want to admit this board can't boot from USB 3.0 ports with all the features it has.
If any other workaround to install windows 8 from usb 3.0 you know I will really appreciate your thoughts.
    Best Regards.
Edit: sorry i post this here. Some moderators please move this to Intel Core-iX boards.

USB 3.0 (Blue) is not legacy compliant which means it needs drivers to function and the BIOS cannot use them till its got the OS layers loaded!
put the USB 3.0 drive in one of the USB 2.0 (Black) ports as they are the only ones that are functional without drivers (USB 2.0 is Legacy compliant and requires no drivers to function)! (USB 3.0 is compatible with USB 2.0 standard connections it will just be choked at 2.0 speeds)
(USB 2.0 is fast enougth for loading a OS off as its 4-5x faster then a CD drive at loading the OS from it)
