Require an Antenna Adapter for an indoor antenna (MSI MEGA SKY 580)

Hi there!
I recently bought an MSI 580, and have been having problems in picking up a signal. There are only a few areas inside the house where I'm able to get a signal but then end up losing it again. I live in the UK in an area where the signals strong for freeview. I tried this on my laptop at another mates house and found that the signal there was more easier to find around the house. I've downloaded the patches and my system is above the minimum requirements. When I FINALLY manage to find a signal, I am able to watch tv on both presto pvr and media center. I've discovered having read the forum that I am going to need another good indoor antenna then the useless one that has come with the bundle. I can however only connect that to the USB stick once I have the antenna adapter which I didn't receive with the package. Can someone please tell me where I can get one of them from and also reccommend another good indoor antenna that is able to pick up signals on the move? The only reason I bought this gadget was so I could watch tv on the move and if I am going to keep losing reception everytime I slighly move then its quite useless to me.

just out of curiosity, which version of the MegaSky is yours? (Found New Hardware wizard detects it as either a "PC-DTV Receiver" or "DTV USB Mini")
as for indoor aerials, i've tried several types, all with mixed results, so i can't single out any one in particular. i would recommend using some sort of signal booster, unless you live very close to a DTT transmitter. however, you should try to look out for aerials designed for digital reception such as this one:
Total Control Freeview Indoor Aerial
digital TV "on-the-go" is a nice idea, but is limited in the UK somewhat due to our laidback approach to change. the sooner we can switch off analogue transmissions, increase power output and total coverage of digital transmissions the better. the UK is severely behind other countries when it comes to DTT; Australia already has most of its digital DVB-T output in HDTV.

  • Mega Sky 580 Antenna Adaptor

I've recently bought a Mega Sky 580, which worked ok, but unfortunately I stepped on the antenna adaptor and broke where it connects to the unit, which means I now cannot get any reception.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy a replacement adaptor, as I'ld like to be able to watch the World Cup!

    How to contact MSI.
try contacting the dealer who sold you the MegaSky, they may have one with a complete faulty unit they can "borrow"
failing that, contact MSI UK, i believe they are very helpful

  • External Antenna Adapter for Centro?

I'm looking for an antenna adapter so I can attach an external antenna for my new Centro. I realize that it's brand new, so I haven't seen any specific adapters for it. However, are there other phones (like older Treos) that use the same size?
If I don't find one, I'll have to return it because the signals are terrible at my house without an antenna.

AT&T is supposedly experimenting with "femtocells" (I think I spelled that correctly!)
Small stations that rebroadcast cellular reception, similar to Wifi routers.

  • Where can i buy antenna adapter for Qosmio?

    Hi
Trying to find qosmio antenna adapter as I have lost the original.
Have tried everywhere with no success.
Even bought one from E-bay which when it arrived wasn't a qosmio antenna adapter.
Surely I must be able to buy one from somewhere as I can't be the only person ever to
    have needed to replace it.
Any help trying to locate one would be greatly appreciated as its driving me crazy

Did you try to contact the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country?
The service provider could be able to order such parts from the Toshiba head warehouse.
Im sure you will get it from there.

  • Treo 800w Antenna Adapter

Where in the Hell can I get an antenna adapter for my Treo 800w?  Even Palm doesn't list the accessory.
Sprint coverage in my area is terrible and I cannot use the phone without an external antenna.
    Thanks.

I'm not aware of any external antenna for the Treo 800w. I suppose someone has improvised one and posted about it somewhere in cyberspace.
Sprint would be happy to sell you an Airave femtocell to funnel your calls through your internet connection. Only useful at home, though.
Have you tried forcing roaming? Usually this will get you on Verizon's network. You can try it here:
Start > Settings, Personal tab > Phone, Services tab > Roaming > "Network selection: Roaming networks only"
The downside is, no 3G when roaming (at least not in my experience). But you may have better luck with calls, at least.

  • Stops working when using it with wifi antenna adapter. Good with 3.6 but now that I have 5 I can't find how to change back.

I live on a boat so I use a wifi antenna adapter to get internet. I used mozilla 3.6 until 5 came out and I updated. After that my internet stops more so I called the manufacturer and he said it doesn't work well with Mozilla 5 and I should change back to 3.6. Its not that it stops so much as when it does stop, I need to access the program that can change the source of the internet connection and with 5.0, it won't open the program so I can't use it. I tried to download 3.6 again and can't find it to download. Now I have to use internet explorer which I don't like.

  • Antenna Selection for High ceiling (Warehouse)

i read nearly 500 topic on antenna selection for high ceiling and industrial warehouse environments  (~10m ceiling)
Question1 : both ant2544v4  and Ant2524 has ~60 degrees Elevation plane 3 dB beamwidth does it mean this Omni antenna could be mounted on 10m height without coverage issue ?
Question2:suppose installing plenty of 2702 with Ant2524 or Ant2544V4 in close adjacency , does CleanAir2 helps to avoid interference ?
Question3:if i want avoid directional antennas to cover aisles using dipoles is the last solution ? (if omni antenna cant afford enough elevation due to its nature )
my warehouse area is something like this : http://www.pathguide.com/Images/Content/warehouse%20aisle.jpg
    thanks

As I can see this location presents challenging RF conditions: high attenuations, reflections, multipath, etc. The fact that you need to implement Voice WLAN too, introduces more difficulties.
You have to conduct a wireless site survey. I don't know how much experience do you have with this activity or if you have the equipment and site survey tools required, but it has to be done.
In the worst case scenario you have to grab at least one or two APs from the model that you intend to install, set them up in stand alone mode with some test SSIDs and install them in the warehouse in different locations. Than you walk arround and try to measure the signal quality and attenuations. You cand use some free or trial site survey applications that can be found on the Internet.
You have to find out what protocol (802.11 a/b/g/n) the barcode scanners are using and what TX power are they capable of. You should set up your APs accordingly (the AP TX power should not exceed the client power, preferably it should be about half in order to benefit of CHD). The same has to be done for the Voice clients. The survey has to be done separately for each 802.11 protocol. I recommend taht you do some futher reading on the subject.
As for the antenna type, Cisco recommends directional antennas in high ceiling environments. However, I have installed 2702e APs with standard omni antennas in warehouses and they did the job very well. The difference in my case was that I installed the APs on cable channels at ~6-7 meters, not directly on the ceiling. Maybe you can find some other mounting possibilities besides the ceiling if you want to stick to omni antennas.
The co-channel interference between adjacent APs is avoided usualy by DCA and TPC not as much by CleanAir. However in 2.4 GHz there could be some interferences.
As a conclution you have to use some real APs in order to estimate, with at least a minimal accuracy, the position and number of required APs for the deployment. Do not forget about the cabling requirements for the APs, distances to the closest switch, electrical power etc.

  • How to connect 3g iphone Passive Antenna Adapter to phone?

Having a hard time to finding solution to this question. I'm finding that there are antenna adapters for the iphone. However, I'm having a hard time finding articles, pictures, or video on how to use them.
So can any one help me out?
My goal is to increase my iphone 3g cell phone signal. I have some plans on how to do it. I'm not willing to purchase and booster or cell repeater; they usually cost $200 dollars, or more. And I'm not willing to buy a cheaper repeater on ebay or some biding site....

  • Can I buy an antenna online for my iPhone 4 and will it work?

My iPhone keep saying no service .
I don't pick up NO wifi and I should .
I If I buy a Antenna online for my iPhone 4 will work ? will i get service and Wi-Fi ?
If so which one do I have to get since my iPhone 4 is an AT&T iPhone

The antenna for the iPhone 4 is the metal band around the edge...if there is a signal the antenna picks it up, if there is not a signal there is nothing you can do.
Have you tried your iPhone in more than one WiFi area and does it not receive WiFi in all areas?
What is your symptom of no WiFi, is the WiFi button greyed out?  If so, work through http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 and see if that helps.  If still no WiFi, some users have found it necessary to make a backup of their contents, restore the iPhone to factory condition, and then restore from the backup.

  • Antenna direction for Aironet 1250

    Hi,
What is the recomended antenna direction for Aironet 1250 model? We have three antennas. And we have no choice but to fix the base device on the wall of our office. So the antennas are looking like coming out of the wall towards the office open space. All uses use notebook which is on the horizontal platforms of tables. Is this the direction / orientation correct of notebooks and aironet antennas. Or do we need to turn the antennas in the vertical direction.
DO we have any best practises available fro antenna direction on cisco.com ?
If yes please let me know the URL.
    Thanks in advance.
    Subodh

You should have then vertical. There are antennas that are dipole that are not fixed position. This will allow you to have them in a vertical position rather than horizontal.
