Require query in Visual composer

Hi,
I want to call below query in Visual composer.
      1) SAP query from R/3 server
      2) BEX query from BW server.
I am able to see BAPI/RFC from R/3 server but not query. Do we require any additional thing with VC to call those queries?
I have heard about connecter, When we install VC it comes with that or we need to add connecter explicitly to call query. If yes then what I need to do. Let me know it’s urgent.

Hi Sachin,
I'm sorry for the delay. SDN had some problems the last minutes..
Here the link to the weblog, helping you to set up both systems:

  • SQL Query in Visual Composer 7.1.1 SP2

    Hi all,
I want to use an SQL Query in Visual Composer 7.1.1 but I only can search for Stored Procedures. There is documentation available but not for VC 7.1.1.  I also can not use the Query Wizard for this as the System does not show up in the list.
So how is it possible to use SQL Queries in Visual Composer 7.1.1.
    Thank You
    Nicolas

    Hi Nicolas,
If you want to use SQL statements, you should use the BI JDBC capabilities of Visual Composer. For information on how to configure such system go to [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/EN/3f/0f883fed254875883290c98c0c20c1/content.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/EN/3f/0f883fed254875883290c98c0c20c1/content.htm]
Once you have it configured you should be able to search for the tables in VC. For info about this refer to [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/EN/7d/a109d5efcc4644a9f2da2ab27e50dd/content.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/EN/7d/a109d5efcc4644a9f2da2ab27e50dd/content.htm]
After you drag and drop a table to the storyboard, you can right click on it and select "SQL Editor" to edit the SQL statement.
    I hope this helps,

  • Unable to create visual composer table view from the Bex Query

    Hi
I am trying to create the visual composer lay out from a Bex query. The Bex query contains a set of Key figures and a structure.
These key figure and structure combination is forming a table in the query output. Key figure parameters are coming as rows and Structure parameters are coming as columns.
    example query out put:
Total, HPC, FDS excel ICe etc are as Structure elements and coming as columns in query out put and
Invoice value, Gross sale value, Efficient operations etc are as Key figure elements in query and coming as rows in query out put.
But if I map this query to visual composer table view all these are coming as columns as given below.
Total Invoice value ,             Total Gross sale value,    Total Efficient operations,      HPC Invoice vale,.........
And if execute the query will giving the out put in single row.
Can anybody help me out to map this in the row column format?
Is it really possible to do in VC?
I am using CE 7.2. The VC model I need to be embedding in BPM.
Please help me to solve this issue. I completely stuck up this issue.

    Hi,
Try to use some function module which will convert query data into flat tables. (eg., RS_VC_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA_FLAT).
    Hope this solves your issue.

  • Visual Composer: Date Range in Query

    Hi,
While working in Visual Composer, I have come across the need to re-use the same query 20 times, but with slightly different date ranges. One way would be to create 20 copies of the same query and change the selection dates as needed on each of them. However, is it possible to provide date ranges in a query in Visual Composer? Right now its only letting me enter single values.
    Thanks
    Adeel

Problem can be resolved by using a colon between the dates. Furthermore, the DSTR function in the expression editor can be used to form the desired dates.

But  I can only see Web service destination and RFC destination. What shall I do to solve it?
And Why /nwa -> destination is only see in VC?
    Help me^^

    Hi Kang Min Shim ,
In order to search for BI destinations in VC you must have the BI Kit for VC installed on your machine.
If you have that BI Kit installed you need to [define a BI destination|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/c21540edc547f5e10000000a114a6b/content.htm].

  • BI SAP Query Connector Heatmap Error - Empty display in Visual composer

    Hi,
I am trying to create an Heatmap iview in SAP Visual Composer using BI SAP Query Connector.
While using the Heatmap template, we are able to see the data but finally when we deploy  and run the iview we see empty screen.
    Any inputs is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sreeram

    Hi,
thanks for your time and help. Its a relevant blog but unfortunately doesnot solve my problem.
I am using BI SAP Query Connector system instead of BI JDBC. While creating the Heatmap I am able to select the fields and see the output in table format, but finally the chart is not appearing. its blank.
IGS is configured correctly, able to reach backend to select tables, select fields. After deployment and when the ivew is run I dont even see any heatmap, but a blank container.
Please suggest if you have any clues regarding this.
    Regards,

  • Visual Composer Query

I have already created a system and am able to successfully pull data from the sql database source. However, I have a query that I want to plug in to restrict the recordset. Can somebody tell me how I can do this?
    Thanks in advance.

Thank You. All I see is the tables within Visual Composer when I choose "Get Data". If understand you, I have to first have a stored procedure in SQL server that I then call from Visual Compoer? I do I view the stored procedures in Visual Composer?
    Thank You!

  • Does Visual composer requires enterprise portal installation?

    Hi all,
Does Visual composer requires enterprise portal installation?
or can it be installed standalone and used standalone.
Also does Visual composer reuires BI-JAVA stack,
or can it run on BI-ABAP stack also
    Thanks all,

    Hi ,
    Thx Markus,
    one more question...
Is VC a stand alone application/package by itself that does not require EP or does it come with EP.
    Thanq.

I am thankful for your help for posting this link
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e017128
I am following the same steps but I am unable to find the system in visual composer after creating it in portal.
I got another document also related to it...
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/ceea45f3-0c01-0010-049c-c2b001f590fb
But in this document when I am giving the WSDL URL name its not accepting. It is showing as invalid. So I am unable to proceed forward. Please help soon...

    Hi Nutan,
Try to define the web service system directly in the portal. Through VC you can encounter problems.

  • How to use BEx or Visual Composer to visualize 3rd party tool data?

    Hello,
could you give me ideas how to visualize non-SAP warehouse data with BEx or Visual Composer?
I know that one option is virtual provider with connection to external DW. I do not want to load data into BW.
Is there any other way? If yes, how it can be done?

    3.3 Connectivity and Interoperability
    This section briefly describes:
    • The means of connecting Visual Composer Storyboard to the required back-end systems
    • The technology environments to which models composed in Storyboard can be deployed
    Connectivity with Back-End Systems
Visual Composer provides tools that let you connect via the portal to back-end applications defined in the portal system landscape. This connection enables you to import into your model the relevant function modules on which you want to base your iViews. The imported function modules are referred to as data services.
Normally, you can connect to any installation of a back-end application to import a data service, and then deploy the content to any portal that enables access to an instance of the same back-end application. However, if the customer installation of the back-end application includes customized function modules, you will need to import the data services in the customer environment, in order to retrieve the customized functions.
Most connections to back-end systems are accomplished using the SAP and JDBC connectors deployed automatically as part of the connector framework installed with the portal. The SAP connector provides access to R/3 and BW systems, while the JDBC connector provides access to a wide range of databases, including Microsoft SQL, Oracle, DB2 and others.
BI connectors, installed separately in the portal, can be used to access a range of different data, including multidimensional cubes, relational tables and queries. Connectivity is based on defining a system in the portal landscape. You may define systems for the following connections:
    • BI XMLA
    • BI ODBO
    • BI JDBC
    • BI SAP Query
In addition, you can configure the BW system, installed automatically with the SAP connector, for accessing predefined queries.
The following table describes the systems from which Visual Composer can import data, and the connectors that are required. The “Connector” (second column) indicates the name of the connector used to install the system in the portal.

  • Using Function Modules in Visual Composer

    Hi,
I am very much new to Visual Composer.
I have a requirement where I need to use an input ready query in the Visual Composer model and enter a plan data and save it.
I read in some forums that it is possible to execute planning sequence and save plan data using the function modules RSPLSSE_PLSEQ_EXECUTE and RSPLSTD_DATA_SAVE. But I am not sure how to implement these function modules in Visual Composer 7.0.  Can anyone through some input on this?
Any related document or link regarding this if shared would be helpful.
